Testo completoManagers and professionals in France are a category of workers which has experienced significant destabilizations for the last twenty years. Feminizations, the rise of professionals, unemployment, the crumbling of the “trust contract”, are all elements which have impacted the traditional model of the “total commitment” of managers to their company. Work-life balance and the organisation between work and the other times of life (family time, leisure time, etc) constitute new challenges for the firms aiming at retaining their talents. At the same time, the redesigned role of managers and in the organisation, the acceleration of the rhythm of technological and organisational changes, contribute to the decreased boundaries between work and personal life. Consequently, I have developed the concept of time porosity to enlighten the relationships between professional and personal time. Time porosity corresponds to the phenomenon of overlap and interference between personal temporalities and professional temporalities, and reciprocally. This research aims to identify various types of time porosity and to understand the determinants of these phenomena. Among these determinants, gender appears to be fundamental. Thus, the systematic comparison between time porosity among women and men is a key point of this study. It uses qualitative and quantitative methods. After thirty interviews, a reliable questionnaire was constructed to measure time porosity and its determinants (150 questionnaires). The results confirm that time porosity largely depends on gender. Time porosity of women is mainly correlated to their salary and their position in the company. Time porosity of men not only depends on the characteristics of their job but is also highly correlated to a positive attitude regarding work at home and flexibility

This thesis is a study of daily life of workers regarding their experiences and discourses on the work time and the non- work time. The workplace is the privileged locus of analysis. The empirical research examines the case of Volkswagen-Brazil in its assembly plant in ABC region, São Paulo, emblematic example of initiatives and negociations driven to achieve flexible work conditions and employment relations. The analysis focuses the period 1995-2005 when most intense changes took place. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part begins with a review of the national and international literature on time and work time as societal constructions; the following two chapters present the recent debate on two opposing experiences, France’s and Brazil’s. In the second part, formed by seven chapters there is an initial presentation of the context of Volkswagen do Brazil, based on the analysis of documental material as well as interviews with workers, union leaders and managers. The last six chapters analyze the daily temporal experience of different groups of workers based on semi-directed interviews and time diaries

Testo completoThis inflexion in the power relationship is made at the advantage of the management and is meant by the transformation of the regulation rules chosen by the social partners to escape the crisis. The social dialogue on how to manage working-time duration has settled on evidence of ambiguity, as considered at on interprofessional level. Nonetheless, the study on our panel of nearly thirty enterprise-based agreements on working-time management seems to be like evidence that the social rules changed by negotiation. The social partners have been working together on the reduction of working-time duration since 1977, in order to find out the most efficient answer to the current surge in unemployment. The social partners will finally confront about the definition of a new power game, theirs completing the transformation of the social relationship traditional basis

Testo completoIn this thesis, we aim to apprehend, from a dynamic perspective, those processes through which are constructed the working time of employees of the big distribution. Particular attention is given to showing how the various actors interact and participate in this construction, by taking into account the technical and social context in which they are integrated. The working times are not imposed on the employees by their employers in a unilateral and vertical way, but they are rather perpetually negotiated. The working times are studied from the point of view of the “container” (schedules, durations) and the “content” (rhythms, cadences or rates, positioning of the breaks). In order to update the processes that take active part to the construction of the working time, we refer to the results of surveys conducted in two supermarkets in France and in Vietnam among cashiers and section managers

Testo completoThe intent of this thesis is to study the employees of CNEP and BNCI, two banks wich merged in 1966 to form BNP. Deciding to prolong the study from 1848 (date of fondation two banks) to 1970 permits a primary analisis of the effects of the merger on the employees. The personnel records are the primary source material. From the analysis of time at work and « spare time », we obtain an image both of the differences between these employees, and of the unity of two groups. Three periods stand out : the first from 1848 to 1914 shows a work force, largely masculine and well educated who could rise rapidly within the ranks to positions of responsability. The second phase from 1914 to 1945 marks a diversification of this social group with women taking a wider place but lacking access to promotion. In 1925 a major strike of bank workers drew attention to the problems within tthe profession. Finally from 1945 to 1970 banks evolved more and more towwards commercial activities. The influx of youngs graduates alters the means of access to senior positions. Since the merger in 1966 two groups met, fused their know-how and their individual identities to create a new entity. Between the history of the nation, the history of banks and the story of individuals, a professional body born in the XIXth century; gradualy defines itdelf thanks to personnel records, with the hierarchy, daily going on and the social position of the employees

Testo completoDuring the second half of the nineteenth century, a paternalistic textile industry, Saint Frères, settled in the Nièvre valley in the French department of the Somme, by planting many factories and employers' institutions. These establishments offered a "lifetime employment" to thousand of inhabitants, thus defining their daily lives. With the crisis of 1929 and the Second World War, the compagny turn to part-time work and redudancies. This crisis disrupt their life course, which they had previously considered irreversible. These ill-assorted experiences of unemployment and the war, there are differentiated ways of living a labor condition, that worsen class unity. Rifts make it harder to struggle. Even if reconciling conflicting interests and prioritization of tasks sush as we know them today, weren't top of the agenda then, this research points at what was to come. Time was and still remains a question of power

Testo completoMoving into a nursing home is an important step in the life of an elderly person. It means shifting from their own home, a private place, to a communal space likely to be the last place where they will live and this affects their sense of time. We asked ourselves what the perception of time is in the inner consciousness of older people and whether the perception of time in the elderly varies depending on their place of living. The theoretical framework is essentially philosophical while that of the perception of time is rather phenomenological. These form the basis for constructing our research question: Do timespans and future plans expressed in the inner consciousness of the elderly differ depending on whether they have been placed in a nursing home or live in their own homes ? The comparative study of the narratives of seniors living in nursing homes and those living in their own home relies on a qualitative approach. Interpretations of content analyzes show the two surroundings have opposite characteristics : there occur disruptions and alterations in the inner consciousness of those in nursing homes, while there tends to be continuity of life and activation of the inner consciousness for those staying in their own homes. Desubjectivation of people living in nursing homes is the result of a process that is being built up and this contradicts the hypothesis of the existence of a direct causal relationship that woud be attributable solely to the context of placement

Testo completoThis research is focused on the contribution of ergonomics to the functioning of a company in the context of the law on a negotiated shorter working week (ARTT) in the building works. A new method of intervention is formulated that views the company as a domain for intervention with efficient operation as a target of its action. The company's operation is an articulation of collective activities. The approach consists of four stages : to understand the actual functioning of the company ; to simulate the impact of ARTT on its operation ; from these tests, to identify the advantages and disadvantages ; to participate in, and facilitate the choice of possible future operation. For this kind of intervention, ergonomics is improved by understanding the activities of top management and by ameliorating their decision making process. Generalizing this method of intervention refers to boundaries and perspectives of this research

Testo completoKeeping a diary is a writing form which is booming all along the XIXth century, where the secularisation of avowal and the cult of the inner self influence the expression of subjectivity. Nevertheless, the diary shapes the story of the days and self-telling that convey a new perception of time and another idea of Man, inherited from the age of Enlightment. That’s exactly what Xthe diary Henri-Frederic Amiel writes in Switzerland, from 1838 to 1881, year of his death. At the junction of the history of mentalities, personal story and the literary history of writing about oneself, the 16900 pages which make up this long-distance diary compose an outstanding « livre de vie ». Its reading reveals the combined evolution of the notion of identity and the different approaches of self-discovering which have arisen all along that century.Considered as the epitome of diarists, Amiel carries out a self-study which is unprecedented for its steady audacity as well as for the poetic writing of his personal impressions it displays. Inward-looking and analytical, this imposant diary stands for the imaginary visualisations of that time as well as it is an evidence of the fast-changing disruptions of a world abandoned by transcendence, and where the persons become the only masters of their destiny. Self-conscience generates new forms of guilt and anxiety, and their confession makes up a complex and moving self-portrait.Spurred on by a desillusioned romanticism, by a thirst of self-knowledge aligned with the Ideologists project, but also by the undergoing changes that create a kind of individualism in a world that henceforth has become anomic, the diary from Amiel is derived from a basic disagreement which sets free an unconventional, secret and challenging form of writing, but which also allows him to be sincere and dedicated to the self-awareness. If the time-related progress of a writing, whose heuristic purpose scatters mixed pieces of an ego getting more and more elusive, unwinds the spindle of a unique life and a fascinating story, it grabs attention by its large-scale project.Garded secret during the author’s lifetime, Amiel’s diary was only published in its entirety in 1994 ; its publication enhances the reflexion carried out on the writing of the intimate area, on its destination and reception, but also on the problematic literariness of a genre tackled at a decisive period of its history

Old age, which is an important crossroads in life, is also the period of an economic redistribution of investments. Even if they appear tardily, delusions, whether insane or not, are not systematically synonymous with a psychotic state. They show confusion and unreal speech, that we hesitate to call "delusions". The delusional conviction dulls with age, and we observe a levelling of beliefs and unreal productions. This last point might enable us to put into question, either the definition of delusion itself, or what we use to call delusional ideas of elderly people. Only clinical medecine could give us some clarifications on these delusional uncertainties we observe daily. We show with evidence that we do have to clearly define the frontier between the normal and the pathological

Testo completoPicard, Manon. "La smartfiction : une fiction interactive à lire, un rôle à incarner ou une partie à jouer sur son smartphone ?" Electronic Thesis or Diss., Compiègne, 2022. http://www.theses.fr/2022COMP2681.
Testo completoA smartfiction is a story to be read and played on the smartphone. Taking the technical, aesthetic, social and cultural codes of the smartphone to reinvest them in the framework of a fiction, smartfiction relies on a reflexive dimension in relation to the smartphone. By using the conventions of ordinary smartphone practices, the user of a smartfiction must project themself as a smartphone user when reading, interpreting and acting out a fictional life story. Indeed, the very nature of the story is to tell a life that is no longer mine or that is not mine. Me listening, I coincide with a telling time which projects me in the told time. The writing of the story and the devices make the telling time a construction of the reading self. Within the framework of the smartfictions, this game on time relies in particular on the instant (fictional) chat and the notifications (which I name notifictions to indicate fictional notifications). That way, the user has a framework for blending into the time of the story by articulating it to a reading time. But they interpret this story as an actor interprets a role in the theater. By embodying the role assigned to him, the user lives the time of the story as a time played in the first person. To do this, they must approach their role as if they were playing a game and thus transform the time of the story into a time of play. They must “play the ga.Me”. Narrative, theater and game are then three temporal modalities of the lived time that are reset by the smartfiction : a story that one plays and that one incarnates. A smartfiction has thus a double status, phenomenological and semiotic. Indeed, the reader-actor-player interacts with the smartfiction and synchronizes their flow of consciousness with the different objects composing it in order to live the experience of reading in the first person. They synchronize their living time with the time of the fiction. This synchronization is punctuated by the interaction with the specific codes related to the use of a smartphone, which becomes the semiotic and pragmatic framework of the smartfiction. This framework allows both the contextualization of the smartfiction and functions as a defamiliarization of the smartphone. The study, based on a corpus of eleven smartfictions, thus articulates a double phenomenological and semiotic approach. A smartfiction is a story on a smartphone that happened to someone, a story that is a game in which the user plays as an actor. With the smartfiction, we witness the birth of a format, even of a genre. The emergence of a new genre invites us to question its articulation with existing genres, or even their reconfiguration: does smartfiction correspond to another way of telling, another form of staging, another practice of acting? These questions also refer to the role of the device which stands out in these creative modes. In particular, smartfiction invites us to objectify the role of a smartphone in a narrative. Smartfiction is thus a laboratory for the analysis of creative genres and for the understanding of the role of the medium and the devices
Chassagne, Aline. "La peine et le soin : une enquête sur l'espace et le temps des malades en prison". Thesis, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017UBFCC036/document.
Testo completoThis work, entitled “Sentence and care: an investigation of space and time among sick prisoners”, raises the question of the prison sentence through the prism of illness. The study goes to the heart of different worlds that are juxtaposed: the worlds of prison, healthcare, and the prisoner. With a solid empirical foundation based on extensive observation and interviews with prisoners and the professionals working in this environment, an anthropology of space and time is here in proposed. The approach deals with the way prisoner-patients, the prison staff, and the healthcare professionals attempt to orient their activities around the disease, within the confines of the prison, and in the hospital setting. The activities in these different environments are also analysed with regards to the temporal horizon of the prisoner’s release, which is threatened by the time of disease and death. Spatial and temporal constraints, the qualification of the different persons, objects, places, and rhythms are all at the centre of this“socio-anthropological” reflection. The analysis provides some insights into the experience of serious illness, which upsets the aims attributed to prison sentences and the sense of justice.Through this “dual ordeal” we can see the outline of how humans are constructed
Domenget, Jean-Claude. "Les temporalités médiatiques au troisième âge de la vie : évolutions et dynamique des pratiques au quotidien". Bordeaux 3, 2005. http://www.theses.fr/2005BOR30049.
Testo completoThis thesis proposes an approach of the relation between audio-visual media (radio and television) and time, by being located on the users side. It breaks thus with the analysis of the structuring of the time, by stressing the dimension of occupation. It provides a very detailed analysis of the media temporalities lived by the actual elderly through their media representations and their practices. It aims especially to better understand and to explain the changes and the dynamics in the everyday lives of these temporalites. On the basis of the users words, several concepts are developed (the occupation, the unexpected, the implication). In order to achieve the thesis aims, it was necessary to take into account the political, economic and social experiments lived by the actual elderly, then to analyse the evolutions of the socio-temporal frame and of the use frame at this stage of the life-cycle. Between retirement and old age, these individuals live specific temporalities. This main evolution of the time relationship and to a lesser extent the evolution of the media relationship explain the evolutions of media temporalities. The media practices are recipient of these evolutions while taking part in the creation of new time relationship during retirement. They contribute to the continuation of identity creation. They reinforce the anchoring of the elderly in the present and perpetuate the importance of the relational dimension of any occupation for these individuals. Day by day, the dynamics of the media practices are expressed mainly on the level of intra-individual variations. The concept of implication then makes it possible to better understand the variations observed

Testo completoIs the disabled person a person ? the question may seem scandalous but it is essential when you notice the gap between the media exposure and the stalking of which it is the object. Paradigm of lack, the handicapped person is also a contemporary monster, so named to differentiate himself from him. With Ulysses, we will begin to think about the concept of person in its relation to logos to continue with Boethius, Kant to note, by the actuality of eugenics, by the invention of the concepts of human person and human non-human. nobody, the persistence of our doubt as to the person's status of the disabled. Care as a tool of encounter with the person and in particular with the person with a disability helps us to reconnect with a certain sacrality of the body and therefore to reconsider the being of the person being cared for. The study of concern with Heidegger, then, shows the link he has with man, with death and with time, the last bastion to the control of man over himself. If the care makes it possible to meet the person, there remains a certain ontological fragility of the handicap which puts him in permanent danger. Despite this persistent fragility, is it really possible not to recognize the person in every human being with a disability ?

Testo completoThe aim of this thesis intitled tense and person in the waves of virginia woolf, is to propose an other way of reading to the text in the light of linguistics reflextions. The first part studies the use of the tenses and their distribution in the text. The analysis in this part helped us to distangle the differents relations that exist between what i called interludes and chapters on temporal level. The second part focuses on the use of personal pronouns i and you in the "chapters". This study leads us to think about the differents relations that take place between the characters on the one hand, and the characters and their statements on the other
Catarino, Soares José Manuel. "Systémique du Verbe Portugais : aspects, modes, temps, personne, voix". Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015USPCA102.
Testo completoThis dissertation aims at describing and explaining the Portuguese verbal system, which is a system of sayable representations of time consisting of n potential significates, all distinct from one another, which alternate in a closed circuit. The explicandum – the facts to be explained – is, in this case, the paradigms of the conjugation, the overall inventory of its word-signs in detail (stems, inflexions and the like), as they manifest themselves in speech and writing, as well as the diverse senses expressed by these word-signs in discourse. The explicans – the explanatory fact – is, in this particular case, the operative system, the psychomechanism that brings the significates of these forms together in a coherent whole through the interplay of their related senses to express their full purport, which in fact does form a coherent whole only because of the operation that assembles them. The point is that the system cannot be discovered, reconstituted, and hence explained, until one understands its modus operandi, its constructive psychomechanism. In the case of the verb system, the constructive psychomechanism is the one called chronogenesis. It gives rise to a set of verbal categories all of which are temporal, except cardinal person (a spatial category) actualized to give the subject’s rank (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and its degree of control over the accomplishment of the event, thus providing a spatial support for the event signified by the verb. Aspect, mood, tense, as well as person and « voice » (or better, diathesis) do not refer, as it is widely taught or suggested, to disparate phenomena interconnected only in a desultory fashion but rather to different phases of a single psychosystem whose operation is beyond the conscious control of speakers: chronogenesis
Marson, Susan. "Temps de l'autobiographie, temps de l'écriture : Violette Leduc". Paris 8, 1996. http://octaviana.fr/document/181850036#?c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0.
Testo completoThis two-fold research involves a theoretical interrogation of temporal structures in autobiography conducted through readings from twentieth-century author violette leduc (1907-1972). Leduc's works are remarkable in that they give rise to a reading as autobiography while consistantly putting into question the touchstones of the genre: self-identity, the proper name, the relation of language to the real, the notion of a unique, global and retrospective narrative. The thesis first confronts theories of autobiography (lejeune, marin, doubrovsky, de man. . . ) and narrative time (genette, ricoeur, weinrich, banfield. . . ). Secondly, it is shown that autobiography can only establish a relation to reality through non-linear temporal structures related to the graphic nature of the text. Both philosophical and psychoanalytical theories are considered (derrida, freud, abraham and torok). Since autobiography is always, by its very nature, left incomplete, the autobiographical project, usually based on a chronological plot, can never meet its goal; the autobiographical narrator can never recount his or her own death -that moment at the end of the text when author, narrator and character should finally reunite. Paradoxically, in order to succeed, the narrative project must fail through a "death" of the narrating subject. The text becomes a crypt where the author is metaphorically buried alive, and where the proper name is (cryptically) inscribed, this "signature" becoming the writer's epitaph. The possibility of such a moment implies a temporality foreign to linear narrative structures, chronological circularity or the heideggerian notion of the future perfect and relies on a temporal heterogeneity specific to written narrative related to the freudian concept of deferred action. While all writing may have an autobiographical potential, autobiography strictly speaking is born of the tension between the chronology of an impossible narrative project and the temporal structures at play in the written text

Testo completoThis study assesses the effect of a speech disorder, namely stuttering, on the ability to maintain a steady rhythm. The performance of a group of adult stutterers (n = 21) is compared to that of a group of adult non-stutterers (n = 24) during explicit counting activities. There are three counting paces (every 800 ms, 1200 ms or 1600 ms) and three experimental conditions (count silently, count orally and count orally in the presence of an assistant). The results for temporal variability show lower performance (higher Weber ratio) when participants count silently and when they have to deal with very long intervals (1600 ms). There is no main effect of group, but the interaction between the experimental condition, the counting pace and the group is significant. Adult non-stutterers are better than adult stutterers in the silent and long time-interval condition (1600 ms). This finding could be interpreted as an indication of a greater limitation in memory for temporal information in people who stutter. Finally, the experiment shows that adult stutterers have a significantly higher situational anxiety score than adult non-stutterers. This result is consistent with the scientific literature indicating the high level of anxiety experienced by people who stutter.

Testo completoThe old person is in a time limited by the objective imminence of death. Confronted to the ill-fated representation of "time and death", the old person is forced to find other forms of functioning. The possibilities offered by the imaginary help to find a new definition to this end of life issue. The use of an appropriate test AT9C (analysis of one hundred sixty tests and questionnaires) enables us to noticfe a prevailing organisation of time in different places (hospital, old people houses and home care services). A new arrangement of the representations of "time and death" helps to make a reduction of anxiety possible. The exploraty research offers original possibilities to understand some of the old person's behaviours and so gives birth to new methods in gerontology

Testo completoThis research is carried out with ground staff and their supervisors in an airline company. It aims to report, from an ergonomic approach, on weakening or construction’s processes of these employees’ work paths in a context of multiple and continuous transformations (digitalization of the service relationship of customer service agents, internal and external flexibility of baggage handler teams, overall demographic ageing, etc.). This thesis pursues the hypothesis that the work of regulators (firstlevel managers in charge of assigning tasks to ground staff schedules) mediates the construction of health/work relations between ground staff by being a vector of the path wear and tear or path construction. It mobilizes methodological tools specific to the demography of work and the ergonomics of the activity, by combining diachronic (revealing multiple temporalities with individual, collective and managerial dimensions) and synchronic (articulation or tension between these temporalities in the activity) approaches. The results reveal the multiplicity of health indicators and their temporalities mobilized by regulators to organize work, the individual and collective prevention strategies developed in the course of their experience and the role of temporal constraints in the possibilities of implementing them

Testo completoFrench population is rapidly aging. Senior citizens ratio is increasing and our society needs to rethink its organization, taking into account this change, better knowing this fast growing population group.Even if numerous cohorts of elderly people already exist worldly with four in France and, even as they live in growing numbers in nursing homes and out-patient treatment clinics, knowledge of this population segment is still missing.Today several health and medico-social structures groups as Korian and Orpéa invest in big relational data bases enabling them to get real-time information about their patients/residents. Since 2010 all Korian residents’ files are dematerialized and accessible by requests. They contain at the same time, structured medico-social data describing the residents as well as their treatments and pathologies, but also free-textual data detailing their daily care by the medical staff.Through time and as the computerized resident file (DRI) was mainly conceived as a data base management application, it appeared essential to mine these data and build a decision-making tool intended to improve the care efficiency. The Ageing Well Institute becoming meanwhile the Korian Ageing Well Foundation chose then, working in a private/public partnership, to finance a research work intented to better understand these datas’ informative potential, to assess their reliability and response to public health threats. This research work and this thesis were then designed in several steps:- First, a content analysis of the data warehouse DRI, the objective being to build a research data base, with a social side and a health side. This was the first paper subject.- Then, by direct extraction of the residents’ socio-demographic information at nursing home (NH) entry, adding hospitalizations and deaths, and finally, by an iterative textual extraction process of the transmissions data and by using the Delphi method, we created twenty-four syndromes, added hospitalizations and deaths and built a syndromic data base, the Ageing Well data base. This information system of a new kind, allowed the constitution of a public health cohort for elderly people from the BBV residents’population and its syndromic longitudinal follow-up. The BBV was also scientifically assessed for surveillance and public health research through present situation analysis: content, periodicity and data quality. This cohort then gave us the opportunity to build a surveillance tool and follow the residents’ population in real-time by watching their 26 daily frequency syndromic distributions. The methodology for that assessment, Atlanta CDCs’ health surveillance systems method, was used for flu and acute gastro enteritis syndroms and was the second paper subject.- Finally, the building of a new public health tool: each syndrom’s distribution through time (transmissions dates) and space (transmissions NH ids) opened the research field to new data exploration methods. I used these to study different health problems afflicting senior citizens: frequent falls, cancer, vaccinations and the end of life

Testo completoThe proliferation of small and open objects such as personal trusted devices has encouraged the spread of dynamically adaptable runtime environments. Thus, new software can be deployed on the fly after the devices are delivered to their holders. Through our work, we aim to ensure that each new software, whose deployment is successful, will be able to deliver responses within a maximum delay previously established. These guarantees are crucial in terms of safety and security. To this end, we propose to distribute the computation of worst case execution time. Our solution embraces a proof carrying code approach making distinction between a powerful but untrusted computer used to produce the code, and a safe but resource constrained code consumer. The producer does not assume any prior knowledge of the runtime environment on which its software will be executed. The code is statically analyzed to extract loop bounds and a proof containing this information is joint to the software. By a straightforward inspection of the code, the consumer can verify the validity of the proof and compute the global worst case execution time. We experimentally validate our approach on a hardware and software architecture which meets the requirements of trusted personal devices. Finally, we address the challenges raised when software from different service providers potentially untrusted can coexist and interact in a single device. We focus on the impact of the interaction between different software units on the guarantees previously given by the system on the worst case execution time and we outline a solution based on contracts to maintain these guarantees

Testo completoThis thesis presents the results of a study on the way 47 elderly persons of two micro-cultures, one indian and one negro, in the state of paraiba in north east brazil experience changes in life with time. Clinical interviews were carried out with two groups of ederly persons in order to study the way they represent physical and psychological age-related transformations in time. The data collected allowed for a clinical analysis on psychotemporality. The perception of physical weakening in relation to work induces an ego crisis with is translated into frequent remembering of the past. The present time is experiences as overcharges with difficulties and future is felt as narrowing and full of incertainties. The results show no substantial differences in the agind related perception of the two groups srveyed. However, the ederly people of the negro community, which by tradition are more attached to manual work, feel more the narcissic pain caused by the loss of physical capacities during agin. The clinical approach show the caractheristics of the experienced life changes of the elderly people and inform about their personal ways to defend themselves in relation to these changes, about their personal conflicts, their expectations of support from their social environnement and indicate how the mind revives past experiences to fight against an insatisfactory present

Testo completoIn 2004, PSA developed PSA Excellent System, an organizational system based on the Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize vehicle production. One of the pillars of it is the follow up of a "work standard" (SoW) designed by the methods engineers. In theory, SoW allow for the balancing of shifts, i.e. the organization of tasks that operators can perform within a given period. The objective here is to maintain the operators' performance and health. Despite this approach, errors and complaints on the assembly lines still emerge. To understand these phenomena, we constructed a new approach based on the comparison between prescribed and real tasks. In fact, we found that discrepancies between SoW and workers' behaviour correspond to anticipated/collective and individual regulations. These regulations are strategies used by workers to cope with production constraints, such as mental workload, that are not taken into account during the design of workstations. Thus, regulations are a symptom of a dichotomy between the rules shaping workstations design and real production constraints. Especially, while certain constraints such as time pressure, require automatic behaviours (that are efficient and mostly unconscious), other constraints such as spatio-temporal restrictions, work variations, task complexity, high level of risk and information load, bring the need to use reflexive behaviours (that are slow and require a high level of attention). Our final results showed that, when we reduce level of constraints and allow workers to perform their task automatically, we therefore minimize the risk of errors, and the need to use regulations

Testo completoIn this thesis, I propose to rethink memory in order to rethink personal identity. I start from an interrogation about personal identity. How is it possible that people, despite the changes that affect them, recognize themselves as themselves? A common answer to the diachronic question of personal identity is that memory is what makes the self: memories allow us to connect with ourselves and to have an idea of our diachronic personal identity. But interestingly, the recent empirical research on episodic memory shows that it has a constructive dimension and is not only a storage capacity that allows one to preserve and retrieve accurate representations of the past. What does it change for the question of personal identity? I start with an exploration of John Locke’s memory theory of personal identity, and argue that to be a person, in Locke's view, is to recognize oneself as same at different moments of time and thus, in this act of self-recognition, to constitute oneself as a person with a temporal dimension. I argue that Locke’s preservative view of memory has to be revised, and I propose an empirically informed discussion on the concept of memory. I contend that episodic memory has a constructive dimension and has both epistemic functions and functions related to the constitution of diachronic personal identity. I propose a constructive memory theory of personal identity. Episodic memory is at the same time a capacity which allows me to recognize myself and, because this recognition is not a simple recognition but a construction of a representation of myself through the gathering of information from various sources, it can produce and constitute my personal identity

Testo completoThe hypothesis which is the bases of the work consists in thinking of the press magazine as an economic onject caracterised by its capacity to adapt to the evolution of the requirements of its readers and by its sensitivity to the demographic, economic and social environment. To validate the hypothesis, we got more interested in the developments of the monthly magazine notre temps, the main issue targeted for "seniors citizen" (people over 60 years old). Through the studies of a sample of 30 years of edition (analysis of the content, cover story, iconography, editorials) we verified the reality of the magazine's development and the economic primacy of the process thanks to a press analysis. It has still to be confirmed that this development is adequated to current and potential readers. The analysis of part of the readers mail enables us to point out the need for a powerful link with the magazine and a need for an helping tool to the daily life. Furthermore, some reactions show the senior citizens denial to be considered as privileged. Also the "distance" they put between them and the healthier readers. Even through, senior citizens are different from their elders, if the content of notre temps has sensitive changed, the future success factor depends the editor's will to value the dynamic image of its readers, and its capacity to assume its welfare role for the more deprived

Testo completoIn the 70's, Simone de Beauvoir's writings on old age made the french society aware of the living conditions of the old. Thirty years later, although people generally live longer and have more money when they have retired, has their status really got better ? Such a question leads us to examine the importance of human body in our society. The body models set up by the different powers through the ages, can be seen in representational art. They persist in our modern society. Considering the influence of social models, increasing urbanisation, the hold of free market over science and technology connected with health and physical fitness, we need to redefine the body, which leads to the conception of ageing. A survey conducted on retired people's physical activities in the clubs of calvados confirms the routine and the narrowing acquaintanceship which often go with old age. The study of some effects of those activities show that they should be integrated in a constant process of adults'education

Testo completoThe achievement of a voluntary movement implies setting up preparatory processes which predetermine the effectiveness of the motor behavior. This motor preparation can be dependent on temporal and/or event uncertainties taken into account by the central nervous system in order to carry out the motor act. However, fuis intentional motor activity is confronted with two apparently contradictory requirements which are on the one hand, the movement of certain body segments directed towards a goal and on the other, the stabilization of the Other segments of the bodyin order to maintain balance. This work aims at crossing the data from the field of mental chronometry with the data from the field of postural control so as to highlight the impact of motor preparation on the coordination between posture and movement. The Research study presented here aims at modifying the quality of motor preparation in order to 1) demonstrate that the coordination posture/movement is dependent on preparatory processes, and 2) evaluate this preparation by looking at the effects of temporal and event uncertainties on the anticipatory postural adjustrnents (APAs). Thus, this doctoral work supports the idea that the postural component of a posturo-kinetics task is dependent on ft preparation. The latter influences it through the various impacts it has on the data processing system
