Abstract (sommario):

This study focused on how individuals used personal home pages to present themselves online. Content analysis was used to examine, record, and analyze the characteristics of personal home pages. Data interpretation revealed popular tools for self-presentation, a desire for virtual homesteaders to affiliate with online homestead communities, and significant relationships among home page characteristics. Web page design was influenced, to a certain extent, by the tools Web page space providers supplied. Further studies should consider personality characteristics, design templates, and Web author input to determine factors that influence self-presentation through personal home pages.

We present a new approach in web search engines. The web creates new challenges for information retrieval. The vast improvement in information access is not the only advantage resulting from the keyword search. Additionally, much potential exists for analyzing interests and relationships within the structure of the web. The creation of a hyperlink by the author of a web page explicitly represents a relationship between the source and destination pages which demonstrates the hyperlink structure between web pages. Our web search engine searches not only for the keywords in the web pages, but also for the hyperlink structure between them. Comparing the results of structural web search versus keyword-based search indicates an improved ability to access desired information. We also discuss steps toward mining the queries input to the structural web search engine.

There are several Search Engines to categorize the web content and show us on base of our search query.These search engines are continuously visiting the pages/sites and gather the information using different techniques called crawling/spidering. On basis of daily content collection all search engines are managing their own indexes for searches.For every business there is a need to make its pages as most top rated/ranked pages by making structurally and content wise batter so that any crawler can easily crawl it and can rank it among the top 10 results.In this thesis only, structural behavior is being discussed in which internal graphical relationships between pages and the loading time of pages in terms of all supportive content .Structural overview includes the HTML tags structure which works as tree flow starting from tag and then moving towards child nodes.Page speed identifies the loading time of a page, it helps search engine to categories pages for mobile devices as well.Sometimes there is a thunder option on mobile search with rank it represents that this page is super-fast in loading. Page loading includes the loading of all content except Ajax base content.According to Google Page, rank is based on page content, page structure and page loading time.As discussion is only Page structure and page loading time so Google already gave some instructions related to Page structure and page loading speed but those instructions are not enough also it need to discover the new dimensions to make business pages among the top-rated results.

Web records are structured data on a Web page that embeds records retrieved from an underlying database according to some templates. Mining data records on the Web enables the integration of data from multiple Web sites for providing value-added services. Most existing works on Web record extraction make two key assumptions: (1) records are retrieved from databases with uniform schemas and (2) records are displayed in a linear structure on a Web page. These assumptions no longer hold on the modern Web. A Web page may present records of diverse entity types with different schemas and organize records hierarchically, in nested structures, to show richer relationships among records. In this paper, we revisit these assumptions and modify them to reflect Web pages on the modern Web. Based on the reformulated assumptions, we introduce the concept of invariant in Web data records and propose Miria ( Mi ning r ecord i nvari a nt), a bottom-up, recursive approach to construct the Web records from the invariants. The proposed approach is both effective and efficient, consistently outperforming the state-of-the-art Web record extraction methods on modern Web pages.

Social bookmarking Websites are popular nowadays for they provide platforms that are easy and clear to browse and organize Web pages. Users can add tags on Web pages to allow easy comprehension and retrieval of Web pages. However, tag spams could also be added to promote the opportunity of being referenced of a Web page, which is troublesome to users for accessing uninterested Web pages. In this work, we proposed a scheme to automatically detect such tag spams using a proposed text mining approach based on self-organizing map (SOM) model. We used SOM to find the associations among Web pages as well as tags. Such associations were then used to discover the relationships between Web pages and tags. Tag spams can then be detected according to such relationships. Experiments were conducted on a set of Web pages collected from a social bookmarking site and obtained promising result.

In the last decade, new approaches focused on modeling uncertainty over complex relational data have been developed. In this paper, one of the most promising of such approaches, known as probabilistic relational model (PRM), has been investigated and extended in order to measure and include semantic relationships for addressing web page classification problems. Experimental results show the potential of the proposed method of capturing the "strength" of existing relationships (links) and the capacity of including this information into the probability model.

Motivated by applying Text Categorization to classification of Web search results, this paper describes an extensive experimental study of the impact of bag-of- words document representations on the performance of five major classifiers - Na?ve Bayes, SVM, Voted Perceptron, kNN and C4.5. The texts, representing short Web-page descriptions sorted into a large hierarchy of topics, are taken from the dmoz Open Directory Web-page ontology, and classifiers are trained to automatically determine the topics which may be relevant to a previously unseen Web-page. Different transformations of input data: stemming, normalization, logtf and idf, together with dimensionality reduction, are found to have a statistically significant improving or degrading effect on classification performance measured by classical metrics - accuracy, precision, recall, F1 and F2. The emphasis of the study is not on determining the best document representation which corresponds to each classifier, but rather on describing the effects of every individual transformation on classification, together with their mutual relationships. .

In this study, the large data extraction techniques; include detection of patterns and secret relationships between factors numbering and bring in the required information. Rapid analysis of massive data can lead to innovation and concepts of the theoretical value. Compared with results from mining between traditional data sets and the vast amount of large heterogeneous data interdependent it has the ability expand the knowledge and ideas about the target domain. We studied in this research data mining on the Internet. The various networks that are used to extract data onto different locations complex may appear sometimes and has been used to extract information on the web technology to extract and data analysis (Marwah et al., 2016). In this research, we extracted the information on large quantities of the web pages and examined the pages of the site using Java code, and we added the extracted information on a special database for the web page. We used the data network function to get accurate results of evaluating and categorizing the data pages found, which identifies the trusted web or risky web pages, and imported the data onto a CSV extension. Consequently, examine and categorize these data using WEKA to obtain accurate results. We concluded from the results that the applied data mining algorithms are better than other techniques in classification and extraction of data and high performance.

Transaction and promotion processes are very important in a trading activity, so it takes a system or application to manage the process to be more efficient. This research aims to produce an application that can provide transaction and promotion service solutions in Padang green market cafes. Application development methods use prototypes with problem analysis stages, creating application design models and testing. Hierarchy input process output (HIPO) is a diagram that is a design application that has been created starting from data entry, data process, and reports. Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Context Diagram (CD) are to model data structures and relationships between data. Furthermore, this system evalusion is tested using blackbox testing that serves to find out how far the component components or modules on the system are working. The results of this research are in the form of applications or information systems to facilitate the transaction process at Kafe Green Market Padang. The system consists of the main page, login page, data entry menu, transaction menu, and payment confirmation menu. The evaluation results show that the system is already running well, because every component of the system when used there is no error. So that this system can be used and utilized by users.

Both the blog search engine and the general search engine automatically crawl the pages from the web and produce relevant search results based on the user's query. The first difference between the two types is that the blog search engine focuses on dealing with blog posts and filters out other types of pages. This difference allows bloggers only to care about posts rather than all pages that are indexed by general search engines. The second difference is the post, considering more time-related issues compared to the page. The semantic analysis model is widely used to analyze the various semantic relationships that may arise in the document. In this article, the authors propose a new semantic analysis model to find possible time relationships between posts. The main contribution of this paper has two points: first is that this paper builds a high-performance search system that considers the discussion topic and updated time between posts; second, is that the authors consider the time relationships between posts that can rank the relevant blog topics based on the popularity of the posts.

Like other mining, web mining is also necessary to increase the power of web search engine to identify the intended web page and web document. While processing with large datasets, there arises several issues associated with space availability, similarity relationships between different webpage’s and running time. Hence, this paper intends to develop an enhanced web mining model based on two contributions. At first, the hierarchical tree is framed, which produces different categories of the searching queries (different web pages). Next, to hierarchical tree model, enhanced Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) technique model is developed by modifying the traditional DBSCAN. This technique results in proper session identification from raw data. Moreover, this technique offers the optimal level of clusters necessitated for hierarchical clustering. After hierarchical clustering, the rule mining is adopted. The traditional rule mining technique is generally based on the frequency; however, this paper intends to enhance the traditional rule mining based on utility factor as the second contribution. Hence the proposed model for web rule mining is termed as Enhanced DBSCAN-based Hierarchical Tree (EDBHT). It benefits in providing the search results depending on high level information (e.g., location), so that the ability of search engine in providing the interesting association rules can be improved. Next, to the implementation, the performance of proposed EDBHT is found to be enhanced when compared over several traditional models.

For example, research on summarizing skills is an aspect of abilities that come under reading-writing relations. Similarly, topics including synthesis writing, note-taking, plagiarism, content-driven essay exams, term papers, theses, and dissertations, among other topics, are all aspects of reading-writing relations. These core academic skills become even more complex aspects of reading and writing together, when we add electronic texts, web page resources, and other media sources.

Social media has revolutionized the way in which organizations communicate with their customers and stakeholders. Therefore, understanding the characteristics that influence the interactivity and the relationship between an organization and its page visitors is essential for the capability of an organization ability to respond to the current and potential customers on social networking sites in an appropriate manner. The research investigates how companies using brand communities on Facebook influence consumers’ intention to purchase through online interactivity, responsiveness, and personalization. In an online experiment, participants viewed selected records of communication with customers from companies on Facebook pages that differed as to whether and how specifically the companies responded to their consumers. The results were obtained using mediation analyses. These indicate that perceptions of company responsiveness and personalization, based on existing consumer interactions on a Facebook page, influence how participants rated the company, the quality of their own potential company interactions, and the likelihood of them purchasing products from the company in future. The findings of this research also support the assertion that social media has an impact on brand communities as a platform on which consumers interact. Additionally, eye tracking was used to collect data about customers’ activities that assist in understanding how people acquire information from web pages. The research provides a better understanding of which distinct components of a message meaningfully influence perceptions of interactivity. The findings show that marketers should focus on customer complaints as this component of the messages on social media influences the viewer’s visual search. To test other cultural contexts and for further validation of identified relationships, future research could be conducted globally.

Social networks provide companies with great opportunities to build relationships with consumers. Currently, almost every company has their own brand page in social networks and is trying to enhance consumer engagement. Company posts are shown to brand community members. Most researchers believe that the brand community consists only of consumers. However, based on the service-dominant logic of marketing, the brand enters into relations not only with consumers, but also with other stakeholders, including employees of the company, who can be members of the brand community in the social networks. In this research, we focus on FMCG retailers brand community. The algorithm of Facebook social network ensures the dependence of consumer engagement on employee brand engagement. Retail marketers need to use content to influence not only consumer engagement, but also employee brand engagement, expressed in likes, comments and shares. The author analyzes 460 Facebook posts made by 5 Russian FMCG retailers’ brands during a 6-month period. A theory-based typology of content characteristics was made and it covers of what brands say and how they say it. This research sheds light on how content influence consumer and employee brand engagement in social networks.

The interest of hotel visitors has decreased since the Covid-19 pandemic. So it is recommended that hotels implement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) which has three stages: getting new customers (Acquire), improving customer relationships (Enhance), and retaining customers (Retain). However, hotels currently do not have practical service applications that help to maintain the relationship between hotel management and consumers, so it requires research that implements E-CRM by designing a prototype of web-based Hotel customer service applications. This study aims to standardize hotel customer service applications that implement E-CRM. It uses qualitative research methods by applying the prototype system development method. The research contribution is to make an E-CRM prototype in a hotel customer service application with several features such as complaints, testimonials, promotions, and point redemption. Based on experiments and testing from a user using UAT and interview, the implementation of E-CRM using a prototype of web-based Hotel customer service applications helps the staff to find customer complaints. The promotion feature helps staff add promotional information that appears on the website's front page. Hotel customers can use the feedback feature in complaints, testimonials and redeem points exchange with prizes. In future research, sentiment analysis on hotel customer reviews using a classification algorithm can be carried out.

At present, the usage of information systems increases in various areas of human activities, therefore it is necessary to put the emphasis on their quality and user friendliness. That is why new techniques of design, development and implementation of information systems are being sought. The author of the paper and her colleagues employ themselves in the domain of component oriented web information systems and their goal is to define the methodology for building this kind of system. The component boxing model was designed so far. It describes how to build-up the information system from the particular components at each level of the three-layer architecture in general. Within the individual levels, it is needed to carry out the detailed analysis of components and their dependencies. In the paper, the user interface is discussed. The page decomposition in particular components is analyzed in detail and the component types with relationships between them are sought. There are also terms as box, box content, box design, visual element, linked and doubly linked elements, elements linkage defined. Further way of this domain research that would lead in determination of the methodology for the information system development at the user interface and presentation level is shown as well as the integration of this particular task in the entire system development.

6086 Introduction: Cancer patients and oncologists are increasingly using the Internet. Online information is affecting patient decisions regarding treatment. Therefore, multiple organizations published advice on how to screen out problematic information online. In the present study, we sought to determine whether existing quality assessment tools can screen out false or inaccurate breast cancer information online. Methods: Using 15 representative search queries on five popular search engines and only the first page of results, we generated a list of 1,585 Web pages. After eliminating irrelevant, broken and duplicate links 343 unique web pages were downloaded and evaluated for website characteristics, information accuracy and 15 quality criteria: authorship identified, author credentials identified, physician credentials stated, author affiliation stated, sources clear, general disclosures, attribution/references provided, disclosure of ownership, date created displayed, date of last update displayed, date of creation or last updated displayed, editorial process stated, internal search engine present, feedback mechanism provided and copyright notice. Quality criteria were evaluated by an independent evaluator blinded to the accuracy information. Accuracy was determined independently by a pair of clinically trained evaluators. Results: Of 343 pages evaluated, 41 false/misleading statements were displayed on 18 distinct pages. The presence of an internal search engine was correlated most strongly (r = .196, r2 = .038) with health information accuracy. However, all quality criteria (alone or in combinations tested exhaustively) were linearly associated with less than 7% of the variance in number of inaccuracies per website. Conclusion: Currently available technical quality criteria do not identify false or misleading online information about breast cancer. At this time, directing patients to websites with known content appears to be the only way to ensure patients will not encounter false or misleading online information. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Syllabus is essentially a concise outline of a course of study, and conventionally a text document. In the past few decades, however, two novel variations of syllabus have emerged, namely “the Graphic Syllabus” and “the Interactive Syllabus”. Each of these two variations of syllabus has its own special advantages. The present paper argues that there could be devised a new combined version of the two mentioned variations, called “the Interactive Graphic Syllabus”, which can potentially bring us the advantages of both at the same time. Specifically, using a well-designed Interactive Graphic syllabus can bring about many advantages such as clarifying complex relationships; causing a better retention; needing less cognitive energy for interpretation; helping instructors identify any snags in their course organization; capability of being integrated easily into a course management system; appealing to many of learning styles and engaging students with different learning styles. In addition to the introduction of the notion of the Interactive Graphic Syllabus, in order to put this idea into action in the context of economics, the present paper takes advantage of the visual “big picture” of intermediate macroeconomics that has already been proposed by Moosavian (2016a). The present paper describes a web-page that contains a web-based interactive graphic of the aforementioned macroeconomics visual “big picture”. It is argued that this graphic can be used as a cyber-resource to technologically support the above-mentioned visual “big picture”, which comprises twenty-seven interrelated macroeconomic diagrams, and gives some details on the types of their relationships. Furthermore, it provides numerous internet links to other relevant instructional resources offered by well-known universities, allowing the students to somehow zoom in the macroeconomics “big picture”. Moreover, this web-page provides roughly one hundred links to short instructional videos. More interestingly, it responds interactively, if one hovers over a particular diagram, by highlighting the routes through which the final macroeconomic general equilibrium is affected by any change in that particular diagram. The interactive graphic went online on 10/30/2015 at the URL http://zeytoonnejad.com/macrobigpic.aspx and is still under minor modification.

Accordingly, this study measured the accessibility to websites of 36 Iraqi public universities listed in the official webpage of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education. Furthermore, it explored the relationships among three free web accessibility tools, namely Web Accessibility Versatile Evaluator, EIII Page Checker and Access Monitor, to test their agreement in terms of the accessibility results. These three free tools were used to evaluate the accessibility of the Iraqi universities websites. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to analyze the results. Web with tremendous volume of information retrieves result for user related queries. With the rapid growth of web page recommendation, results retrieved based on data mining techniques did not offer higher performance filtering rate because relationships between user profile and queries were not analyzed in an extensive manner. At the same time, existing user profile based prediction in web data mining is not exhaustive in producing personalized result rate. To improve the query result rate on dynamics of user behavior over time, Hamilton Filtered Regime Switching User Query Probability (HFRS-UQP) framework is proposed. HFRS-UQP framework is split into two processes, where filtering and switching are carried out. The data mining based filtering in our research work uses the Hamilton Filtering framework to filter user result based on personalized information on automatic updated profiles through search engine. Maximized result is fetched, that is, filtered out with respect to user behavior profiles. The switching performs accurate filtering updated profiles using regime switching. The updating in profile change (i.e., switches) regime in HFRS-UQP framework identifies the second- and higher-order association of query result on the updated profiles. Experiment is conducted on factors such as personalized information search retrieval rate, filtering efficiency, and precision ratio.

In Philip Kotler’s Hyper-connected, social-based market 4.0, consumers and businesses are formed in horizontal relationships through countless channels, and consumers decide whether to consume their products or services through their individuality and awareness of the people around them. Therefore, the importance of the brand as a company's intangible asset is growing. This paper tried to analyze brand identity based on Kapferer brand identity prism model. Based on Kapferer's theory that strong brands come from the combination of brand identity and image, it tried to identify whether brand identity and brand image match through semantic network analysis by using text extracted from social media and web page of Samsung Electronics, which ranked 7th in global brand value in 2017. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the brand identity and the image were consistent and that there was no significant difference.

Search engine advertising (SEA), in which businesses (or advertisers) bid on keywords and pay search engine providers (e.g. Google) to get a secure place on the first page of search results, is a prominent source of revenue for search engine companies, and an effective method for businesses to promote their visibility on the Web. SEA is a complex and dynamic form of advertising and managing it effectively is still a challenge for many businesses, particularly smaller businesses. Building upon resource-based theory, this study has developed a context-specific model for understanding advertisers' competency factors that influence SEA effectiveness. Using structural equation modelling and survey data collected from 142 businesses, this research has found that SEA effectiveness is influenced by organizations' ability to manage keywords and bids, ability to analyse and monitor outcomes, advertising expertise, commitment to SEA task, and the use of external experts. Moderating relationships between the factors have been examined, and the implications of the findings for both academics and practitioners have been discussed.

We present a novel brightness illusion (the ‘Brick Illusion’) that is determined by perceptual interpretation. The image is ambiguous in terms of depth layering, and the strength of the illusion depends on the chosen interpretation. When a certain interpretation is enforced by stereo disparity, and the layering is disambiguated, the strength of the illusion changes according to constraints on the consistency between depth layering, transparency relationships, and surface brightness. We applied a 2AFC brightness comparison procedure to quantify the strength of the illusion. This procedure allowed us to measure the uncertainty of judgements on relative surface brightness in illusory conditions. The increased uncertainty of our observers among these conditions reflects the multidimensional nature of these judgements. Among all atmospheric hazards, heat is the most deadly. With such recent notable heat events as the Chicago Heat Wave of 1995, much effort has gone into redeveloping both the methods by which it is determined whether a day will be “oppressive,” as well as the mitigation plans that are implemented when an oppressive day is forecast to occur. This article describes the techniques that have been implemented in the development of new synoptic-based heat watch–warning systems. These systems are presently running for over two dozen locations worldwide, including Chicago, Illinois; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Rome, Italy; and Shanghai, China; with plans for continued expansion. Compared to traditional systems based on arbitrary thresholds of one or two meteorological variables, these new systems account for the local human response by focusing upon the identification of the weather conditions most strongly associated with historical increases in mortality. These systems must be constructed based on the premise that weather conditions associated with increased mortality show considerable variability on a spatial scale. In locales with consistently hot summers, weather/mortality relationships are weaker, and it is only the few hottest days each year that are associated with a response. In more temperate climates, relationships are stronger, and a greater percentage of days can be associated with an increase in mortality. Considering the ease of data transfer via the World-Wide Web, the development of these systems includes Internet file transfers and Web page creation as components. Forecasts of mortality and recommendations to call excessive-heat warnings are available to local meteorological forecasters, local health officials, and other civic authorities, who ultimately determine when warnings are called and when intervention plans are instituted.

The news is spread through this huge social network. This paper studies the acquisition technology of social media topic data and enterprise data. The topic positioning technology based on Sina meta search and topic related keywords is introduced, and the crawling efficiency of topic crawlers is analyzed. Aiming at the factors of diverse and variable webpage structure on the Internet, this paper proposes a new Web information extraction algorithm by studying the general laws existing in the webpage structure, combining DOM (Document Object Model) tree and DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise) algorithm. Several links in the algorithm are introduced in detail, including Web page processing, DOM tree construction, segmented text content acquisition, and web content extraction based on the DBSCAN algorithm. The simulation results show that the intelligence culture, intelligence system, technology platform and intelligence organization ecological collaboration strategy under the extraction of DOM tree and DBSCAN information can improve the level of intelligence participation of all employees. There is a significant positive correlation between the level of participation and the level of the intelligence environment of all employees. According to the research results, the DOM tree and DBSCAN information proposed in this paper can extract the enterprise’s employee intelligence and the effective implementation of relevant collaborative strategies, which can provide guidance for the effective implementation of the employee intelligence.

Abstract Background Resident engagement and activities have positive relationships with emotional wellbeing and physical health. However, regularly offered activities may not be suitable for all individuals and may be unsustainable when there are changes in residents’ health. Loneliness, depression, and social isolation are observed among residents in long-term care facilities. A web-based assessment system, “Elder Engagement Performance Improvement (EEPI),” has the potential to support resident engagement. Activity professionals are crucial in utilizing EEPI and engaging residents in meaningful activities, especially regarding their role in helping enhance resident engagement and wellbeing. This study aims explores activity professionals’ experiences in implementing the EEPI assessment. Method: Semi-structured interviews with 23 long-term care activity professionals (e.g., certified activities professionals, therapeutic recreation specialists, and activity assistants) were conducted and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results Activity professionals` experiences showed the EEPI was a means in improving residents’ engagement quality and making engagement a more targeted outcome. Four main themes emerged: (a) Lack of assessment tools, (b) Acceptance of a web-based assessment system, (c) Barriers to using the EEPI (time arrangements, staffing issues, and being on the same page), and (d) Areas for job improvement (person-center care and measurable practices). Conclusions The EEPI may serve as a valuable tool in long-term care facilities. The web-based assessment system facilitated activity professionals' daily work and involved the residents' input in their care, which may enhance resident engagement and reduce the risk of social isolation in long-term care facilities.

Online grocery shopping plays an important role in the current online market as the most evolving online shopping category. Despite that, consumers adopt this way of shopping quite differently across European countries. To explain such a difference, the Technology acceptance model (TAM) can be used for better understanding consumer behaviour toward habitual online shopping. This paper goes beyond and applies TAM in online grocery area based on the assumption that customers view online grocery shopping as an interaction with system respectively web page interface. The aim of the paper is to explain consumer behaviour in the domain of online grocery shopping. Structural equation modelling was chosen to determine factors influencing online grocery shopping and moreover, to find positive relationships between them. The online quantitative questionnaire was given to 480 respondents. Analysis showed a positive relationship between Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Behavioural Intention (BI). The final scheme has characteristics of simple path model with a sequence of latent constructs where PEOU has a positive effect on PU and PU consequently effects BI. Perceived Usefulness of online grocery shopping have a direct effect on Intention to buy, therefore plays a crucial role in awakening the interest in buying food online.

The different web mining methods and techniques can help to solve some typical issues of the contemporary websites, contribute to more effective personalization, improve a website structure and reorganize its web pages. However, only several papers tried to combine web structure and web usage mining (WUM) methods with this aim. The paper researches if and how the combination of selected web structure and WUM methods can identify misplaced web pages and how they can contribute to improving the website structure. The paper analyzes the relationship between the estimated importance of the web page from the web page creator’s point of view using the web structure mining method based on PageRank and visitors’ real perception of the importance of that individual web page using the WUM method based on sequence patterns analysis, which eliminates the problem with repeated visits of the same web page during one session. The results prove that the expected probability of accesses to the individual web page correlates with the observed visit rate obtained from the log files using the WUM method. Furthermore, the website can be improved based on the consequent application of the residual analysis on the obtained results. The applicability of the proposed combination of the web structure and WUM methods is presented on two case studies from different application domains of the contemporary web. As a result, the web pages, which are underestimated or overestimated by the web page creators, are successfully identified in both cases.

After the online system finalization, each island in Greece, Europe, or in the World will have the possibility to submit the required information & data and will be able to see the graphic representation of the results and the rank of the island in terms of smartification and sustainability. The major complaint users have about using the Web is that they must wait for information to load onto their screen. This is more acute in countries where bandwidth is limited and fees are high. Given bandwidth limitations, Web pages are often hard to accelerate. Predictive feedback information is assumed to distort Internet users’ perception of time, making them more tolerant of low speed. This paper explores the relationship between actual Web page loading delay and perceived Web page loading delay and two aspects of user satisfaction: the Internet user’s satisfaction with the Web page loading delay and satisfaction with the Web page displayed. It also investigates whether predictive feedback information can alter Internet user’s perception of time. The results show that, though related, perceived time and actual time differ slightly in their effect on satisfaction. In this case, it is the perception of time that counts. The results also show that the predictive feedback information displayed on the Web page has an effect on the Internet user’s perception of time, especially in the case of slow Web pages.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate how nonprofit service providers can better engage their customers through online communication. It identifies two communication styles and three communication functions, and examines their impact on customer commenting, customer liking and customer sharing. Design/methodology/approach Similar to Python for Facebook, a software package for the automatic retrieval of web page content was developed specifically for this study to extract data from the microblog Sina Weibo. Following the successful retrieval of 1,500 randomly selected messages from 34 universities in China, a two-level regression was performed using Mplus 7 to examine the association between the proposed relationships. Findings The findings reveal that messages with a friendly communication style increase both the number of comments and their positive tone; an authoritative style has no effect on customer engagement. The functions associated with message content (spreading information, building community or promoting action) influence customer liking and sharing. Building community tends to engage more customers than spreading information; promoting action often generates the least customer engagement in social media settings. Originality/value The study fills an important research gap in the service marketing literature as it pertains to nonprofit service organizations (i.e. universities) by identifying two types of online identities based on the communication style and the messages posted on social media. This study is the first to investigate the relationship between identity type and audience engagement, and to analyze the moderating factors of this relationship.

382 Background: Despite the development of treatment guidelines, the management of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains overly subjective. Nomograms and statistical algorithms promise more objective decision making by patients and physicians by quantifying risk. Unfortunately, these tools remain underutilized in daily clinical practice because they are both cumbersome and time-consuming. We sought to create a novel website where all the available and relevant nomograms for RCC could be easily accessible for patients and practitioners, minimizing the subjectivity associated with clinical risk stratification and decision-making. Methods: The existing literature was reviewed to identify published nomograms relevant to RCC. Nomograms were grouped by defining characteristics (preoperative versus postoperative predictive models, predictive models for metastatic disease, etc). Additional operationalized models included staging tools, surveillance models and cancer statistics. Nomograms were selected based on predictive accuracy, applicability, and ability to objectify risk stratification. Only nomograms with an AUC of greater than 0.7 were operationalized. The times required to extract clinical metrics for four hypothetical clinical scenarios were compared between the original paper version and our web-based model. Results: www.cancernomograms.com organizes and operationalizes interactive predictive models for RCC for both physicians and patients. Each model was developed as an independent software program and deployed as an interactive flash object embedded in an HTML page allowing point of care risk calculation. In an initial sample of 15 subjects, the website decreased nomogram metric output from minutes to seconds, proving that utilization of a computer-based platform for these nomograms is faster (p=0.0003). Conclusions: www.cancernomograms.com is a novel website that allows point of care risk quantification and objectified decision making using published statistical models. This web tool may help improve physician and patient communication and clinical care. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

At the irrigation district No 38, Rio Mayo, in Sonora State, Mexico, crop wheat accounts for about 70% of the area under irrigation (about 68,000 ha). Whereby, water users have requested studies aimed to find a method to obtain early crop yield estimation for wheat, using vegetation indices. These values have been obtained from Landsat 7, Landsat 8, and Deimos satellites images. Other studies have been done to estimates crop evapotranspiration (ETc), assessed by two methods, by the relationship: ETc = Kcb * ETr, (ETr reference evapotranspiration) where Kcb is evaluated as a function of NDVI, and by the method of moisture balance (MATRIC algorithm). Specifically, for early crop yield estimate it has been considered a relationship with the value of the index NDVI at heading of the crop, time when usually achieves its maximum value. There is sufficient background in literature about this kind of relationships among them, the works carried out by the International Water Management Institute in India. Moreover, to assure farmers know their crop conditions, there have built a couple of viewers, accessible in the WEB page of the district. So, as part of the PLEIADeS and SIRIUS projects funded by the European Commission, in which the authors’ collaborated, the SPIDER viewer where developed and used for shows values of NDVI on each farm in this district; in addition there is other viewer developed by one of the authors which is available for transfer information to water users. To calibrate the proposed methodology to calculate relationship between the NDVI and the crop yield, the staff of the extension service has been working in measuring yields in many plots within the district, results are presenting in this work.

Social accountability in health professions education is important for the reduction of health disparities. There is a need for the development of curricula which begin to produce graduates who are responsive to community needs. These curricula need to include dialogues with communities, deep reflection and a transformative perspective. This study used a grounded theory approach to explore the perceptions of social accountability amongst final-year medical students. These students grappled with the definition of social accountability but described it as the tension between obligation and a willingness to serve. Five themes regarding social accountability were drawn from the students’ feedback: ‘it’s poorly defined’; ‘web of interconnected relationships’; ‘losing my heart and losing my compassion’; ‘more wide-angled view of things’ and ‘if I don’t go there, then who will go?’. These themes are connected through relational statements of three curricular axes of reflective practice, complexity and meaningful relationships. In each of these axes, participants identified catalysts and detractors for the progressive development of an accountable medical graduate. Abstract (sommario):

The present paper introduces a cloud-based expert system for synthesis and evolutionary optimization of planar linkages. The kinematic structure of the linkage is composed by the modular approach based on Assur’s groups. The dyads are represented as functional blocks with input and output variables. The applied approach for obtaining the geometrical relationships between the input and the output variables of the dyads is based on the use of homogeneous transformation matrices. The developed software system allows a dimensional synthesis of planar linkages by using genetic optimization algorithms. One feature is remote creation of the models of genetic algorithms as well as the receiving of the results by means of a user-friendly interface. By exploiting the application, the user can produce and edit the initial information about the synthesized or optimized linkage; thus he can receive the calculation results as a web page and/or as MS Excel file. An additional mutation of the best chromosome genes by scanning of every gene within its searching space improves the optimal solution. The analyzed numerical case studies show the applicability of the developed software system for mechanism analysis, synthesis and optimization. Because the number of genes is not limited, the linkages with a very big number of design variables can be synthesized by exploiting the developed approach.

A broad assortment of contemporary approaches to legal and normative complexity have challenged state law’s claim of dominance and exclusivity. In Ubiquitous law: Legal Theory and the Space for Legal Pluralism (2009), Emmanuel Melissaris similarly seeks to ground the ‘legal’ in what he calls ‘shared normative commitments’. As with much ‘legal pluralism’, his focus on normativity rejects long-established conventional concepts of law. Indeed, for Melissaris, state law may not even properly qualify as ‘law’. But understood as a descriptive theory of normativity, the dynamic legal-normative web he outlines has much to recommend it. It is certainly superior to the continuing narrow concentration of jurisprudes on state law and law-like regimes. Less convincing is Melissaris’ prescriptive suggestion, with ‘critical legal pluralists’, that illustrating the degree to which legal-normative reform occurs beyond the state and its laws promises liberation. Shared normative commitments do not necessarily result in popular control as existing social structures and power relationships remain. We may be ensnared rather than emancipated. On the whole, however, Melissaris has made a sophisticated and substantial contribution to our understanding of legal and normative plurality. His book deserves to be widely read.

AbstractThis article presents an introduction to some potential applications of a critical discourse perspective to the field of traumatic brain injury. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) examines spoken and written texts as a means to understand the two-way relationship between discourse and cultural context. CDA is particularly interested in how language use reflects and creates power relationships between those involved in the communication. In order to illustrate this perspective, this paper discusses a purposively selected set of written texts about brain injury from a range of institutional contexts: a scholarly journal article, a submission to government from an advocacy group, the home web page of a support group, a newspaper article from the general media, and personal letters written by people with traumatic brain injury. The analysis involved investigation of key linguistic features reflecting the experiential, interpersonal and textual aspects of these texts. Three main lines of tension between competing discourses emerged from an examination. Tension emerged within each text between medical vs. lay terminology, and this was seen as reflecting the widespread power of the scientific paradigm. Tension was apparent between problem talk vs. positive talk. Talk about the problems associated with brain injury forms an essential component when seeking support, and yet talk about positive outcomes forms an essential component when describing the rehabilitation journey. There were also competing discourses in terms of the focus of the talk, between person centredness vs. other centredness. The methodology of CDA is proposed as a tool for reflective clinical practice at both an individual and professional level, as it provides a systematic means to examine health professionals' interactions and promotes the development of a critical understanding of the cultural ideologies and institutions in which practice is located.

Note: a new paragraph 'What this study adds:' was added to page 250 on 27 March 2014.Background Social networking sites are web-based services through which individuals can create a public or semi-public profile within a bounded system, connect with a list of other linked users, and view and interact with a list of their connections and with those made by others within the system. To estimate the proportion of university students using social networking sites (SNS) and to determine the association between SNS use and age, gender, nationality, course and year of study, living context, family size, number of close friends, close relationships, stress related to studies and interpersonal relationships. Materials and Methods A cross sectional study was carried out among 300 students from two universities in Ajman, UAE. A self-administered, content-validated and pilot-tested questionnaire was used. The participants answered questions related to their use of social networking sites and details of socio-demographic variables. The data collected were entered into Microsoft Excel and transferred to PASW 18.0 version. Data were analyzed as frequencies, percentages, means and SDs, and Chi-square test used for associations. The odd ratio was calculated for the significant variables to find the degree of association. The SNS usage was categorized as average, moderate or high based on mean and SD on the SNS test score. Results The study population was comprised of 41.6% males and 58.3% females. 89% used social networking sites (SNS) and 11% were non-users. Of the 267 users of SNS, 58.8% were average users, 37.8% moderate users and 3.4% high users. Students in the first and second years of study, small family size, age below 20 years, male gender, being in a non-medical study program, friends in close relationship were found to be associated with higher SNS use. Conclusion Social networking sites were found to be popular among a large number of university students in the UAE, this being more so among males and non-medical students of first two years of study. Background:Several decades of research have established the relationships between systemic diseases and periodontal diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a chronic medical condition in which the homeostatic and emunctory activity of the kidneys is progressively declines. Periodontitis is a complex, polymicrobial disease that involves both the host and the environment. Tissue destruction is primarily associated with the host’s hyperresponsiveness, resulting in the release of inflammatory markers. Aim: This paper reviewed the evidence linking CKD, inflammatory markers, and periodontal disease and the effect of periodontal therapy on inflammatory markers and kidney function as well as dental parameters. Setting and Design: The sources of data were compiledand reviewed from MEDLINE, SCOPUS and Web of Sciences from 2010 to 2021. Result and Discussion: This review identifies biologically plausible bidirectional nexus between periodontitis and CKD. Periodontitis has emerged as non-traditional risk factor of CKD and vice versa. In addition, inflammatory markers are considered to play a role in the linkages between periodontitis and CKD. Recent study, has linked an increase in the production of inflammatory markers to a poorer renal outcome in patients with CKD. Periodontal therapy is effective in lowering the inflammatory markers levels and periodontal parameters as well as halting the progression of CKD. Conclusion : Understanding these links may help in identifying high-risk individuals and providing essential care at an early stage. Connection between Web page ranking and energy consumption is constructed within this paper introducing two theorems based on the Web activities. Web page Energy is directly proportional to the Information Storage within the Web page. Ranking of a Web page for a given period of time is directly proportional to the Information Storage within the Web page.

Purpose The strong regulation of the Spanish pharmaceutical sector encourages pharmacies to modify their business model, giving the customer a more relevant role by integrating 2.0 tools. However, the study of the implementation of these tools is still quite limited, especially in terms of a customer-oriented web page design. This paper aims to analyze the online presence of Spanish community pharmacies by studying the profile of their web pages to classify them by their degree of customer orientation. Design/methodology/approach In total, 710 community pharmacies were analyzed, of which 160 had Web pages. Using items drawn from the literature, content analysis was performed to evaluate the presence of these items on the web pages. Then, after analyzing the scores on the items, a cluster analysis was conducted to classify the pharmacies according to the degree of development of their online customer orientation strategy. Findings The number of pharmacies with a web page is quite low. The development of these websites is limited, and they have a more informational than relational role. The statistical analysis allows to classify the pharmacies in four groups according to their level of development Practical implications Pharmacists should make incremental use of their websites to facilitate real two-way communication with customers and other stakeholders to maintain a relationship with them by having incorporated the Web 2.0 and social media (SM) platforms. Originality/value This study analyses, from a marketing perspective, the degree of Web 2.0 adoption and the characteristics of the websites, in terms of aiding communication and interaction with customers in the Spanish pharmaceutical sector.

With advances in artificial intelligence and semantic technology, search engines are integrating semantics to address complex search queries to improve the results. This requires identification of well-known concepts or entities and their relationship from web page contents. But the increase in complex unstructured data on web pages has made the task of concept identification overly complex. Existing research focuses on entity recognition from the perspective of linguistic structures such as complete sentences and paragraphs, whereas a huge part of the data on web pages exists as unstructured text fragments enclosed in HTML tags. Ontologies provide schemas to structure the data on the web. However, including them in the web pages requires additional resources and expertise from organizations or webmasters and thus becoming a major hindrance in their large-scale adoption. We propose an approach for autonomous identification of entities from short text present in web pages to populate semantic models based on a specific ontology model. The proposed approach has been applied to a public dataset containing academic web pages. We employ a long short-term memory (LSTM) deep learning network and the random forest machine learning algorithm to predict entities. The proposed methodology gives an overall accuracy of 0.94 on the test dataset, indicating a potential for automated prediction even in the case of a limited number of training samples for various entities, thus, significantly reducing the required manual workload in practical applications.

379 Background: 3-5% of CRCs are due to inherited genetic mutations. We surveyed knowledge and practices of academic physicians for identification and care of individuals at risk for inherited CRC. Methods: 264 physicians (oncologists (ON), gastroenterologists (GA), surgeons, internists, gynecologists, and radiation oncologists) at HUP were invited to participate in a web-based 9-min survey. The ability to obtain appropriate medical history and to make referral to genetic services was evaluated. Knowledge of hereditary CRC syndromes was examined both pre and post viewing of an educational web-page on inherited CRCs. Mantel-Haenszel, Fisher exact, and McNemar statistical tests were applied. Results: Response rate was 33.3%; and of those, 97.4% accessed the educational webpage. In the cohort, 98.9 % obtained a medical history very frequently (VF), 88.6% obtained cancer history in 1st and 45.5% in the 2nd degree relatives VF, and 63.9% asked about the relatives' age at time of cancer diagnosis VF. Of those most likely to care for patients with CRC, the GA more frequently asked about relatives' age at cancer diagnosis (p=0.014) and family history of polyps (p< 0.001) than ON. GA were more likely than ON to refer patients for genetic counseling (73.9% vs. 36.8%, p=0.008). GA had superior knowledge of the availability of genetic testing for Lynch syndrome (LS) (95.6% GA vs. 63.2% ON, p=0.005) and for familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) (100.0% GA vs. 65.8% ON, p<0.001). For the entire cohort, the educational intervention raised awareness of genetic testing for LS (64.5% pre vs. 94.7% post, p<0.001), FAP (69.7% pre vs. 97.4% post, p<0.001), and Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome (31.6% pre vs. 84.2% post, p<0.001); and it significantly improved recognition of LS family pedigrees and selection of appropriate surveillance. Conclusions: Of the respondents, GA are more likely to obtain a detailed family history, utilize genetic services, and have a greater awareness of the availability of genetic testing, than ON. A simple educational intervention improves physician knowledge on inherited CRC risk recognition and surveillance recommendations. No significant financial relationships to disclose.

Introduction. Cloud services are the most promising technologies for monitoring radiation pollution. They are a set of geographically distributed wireless sensor nodes designed to collect, sometimes pre-process, information about environmental parameters, as well as to transmit this information to remote users. Purpose. Development of basic methods for applying cloud services for IoT radiation and Environmental Research Technology. A comprehensive assessment of the state of the ecosystem, including its impact on humans, was carried out. At the same time, a promising direction is proposed, namely the integration of on-premises measuring devices with cloud services using M2M/IoT technology for remote measurement, the use of promising semiconductor sensors based on CdTe and CdZnTe radiation detectors, and modern microcontrollers. Methods. Use of methods Wi-Fi access point, control of the sensor network via a smartphone to transfer data parameters to the ThingSpeak cloud service. Results. When writing approaches to building cloud services, the composition of each sensor node and the task that it performs are considered, such as: the type of data collected, location, power sources, and the possibility of using certain protocols for data exchange relationships. Conclusion. The analysis of unified cloud services that include methods of designing information and measurement systems, methods of building machine-machine and human-machine interfaces, methods of designing sensor networks, methods of computer modeling of electronic circuits and systems, hardware emulation method (based on QEMU), methods of analysis, system analysis, synthesis, logical generalization of results. It includes selecting and connecting layout hardware, data module software that is developed in the ThingSpeak environment using the HTML markup language to describe the configuration web page.
