Abstract. Unfavourable weather is a common cause for crop failures all over the world. Whilst extreme weather conditions may cause extreme impacts, crop failure commonly is induced by the occurrence of multiple and combined anomalous meteorological drivers. For these cases, the explanation of conditions leading to crop failure is complex, as the links connecting weather and crop yield can be multiple and non-linear. Furthermore, climate change is likely to perturb the meteorological conditions, possibly altering the occurrences of crop failures or leading to unprecedented drivers of extreme im

We combine the TLPlan forward chaining temporal planner with the PROBCOG reasoning tool in order to handle failures. Review question / Objective: We aim to evaluate the effect of lung ultrasound (LU) guided therapy on the rates of adverse cardiac events (MACE) in heart failure (HF) patients. Condition being studied: Previous studies have found that B-lines assessed by lung ultrasound can be used for risk stratification in patients with HF and to predict the occurrence of adverse cardiac events. Therefore, similar to BNP, lung ultrasound has clinical value in guiding the management of patients with HF. However, the role of LU in guiding HF therapy is still controversial. Moreover, previous study's samples are

Backward erosion piping (BEP) is an internal erosion mechanism by which erosion channels progress upstream, typically through cohesionless or highly erodible foundation materials of dams and levees. As one of the primary causes of embankment failures, usually during high pool events, the probability of BEP-induced failure is commonly evaluated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for existing dams and levees. In current practice, BEP failure probability is quantitatively assessed assuming steady state conditions with qualitative adjustments for temporal aspects of the process. In cases with sho

Review question / Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between NLR and in-hospital or long-term prognosis of patients with heart failure by meta-analysis. Eligibility criteria: Inclusion criteria: (1) Patients with heart failure who underwent NLR measurement ;the study types were prospective cohort study or retrospective cohort study; and (3) risk estimates of association between NLR levels and heart failure related events occurring during hospital or follow-up were studied experimentally. Objectives. To review the evidence published after the previous Making Healthcare Safer (MHS) report on the effectiveness of implementing patient monitoring systems that scan patient data for signs of clinical deterioration to alert a clinician of a potential adverse condition. Methods. We searched PubMed and the Cochrane library for systematic reviews and primary studies, published from January 2018 to April 2024, of patient monitoring systems reporting the activation of a rapid response system (RRS), incidence of cardiorespiratory arrest, hospital mortality, transition to higher level of car
