Streszczenie:
Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy. Agriculture is not only important in economic point of view but also has subconscious influence on social, political and cultural life. So many researchers have accomplished their study related to the price determinants of agricultural product, but rare researcher worked on ‘consumption pattern’ as moderated ‘price determinants’ and ‘perception toward future productivity’. By the informal discussion with farmers’ it has been judge that there is a great role of farmers’ and firm owners’ psychology on the future productivity. So, these research issues are addressed in current study that are from the aim of study as follows- <strong>Aim: </strong>Aim of study is to find out the relationship between ‘price of agriculture product’ and its determinants, influence of ‘price determination’ on ‘perception towards future productivity’ and the moderation effect of ‘consumption pattern’ on the relationship between ‘price determination’ and ‘perception towards future productivity’ of agricultural products. <strong>Study Design: </strong>Descriptive research design applied to study. The relevant literature laid down relation between price determinant of agricultural product and future perception of agricultural product. <strong>Methodology: </strong>The study based on logical relationships developed through a proposed model. The model refers to moderated mediation effect on the relationship between determinants of price and perception towards future productivity through consumption pattern and price determination of agricultural products. The model has proposed purely based on available literature and the determinants of price are identified from past research works and studies. <strong>Results: </strong>Perception towards future productivity is a logical consequence of price determination process, which is influence by various controllable and uncontrollable factors. The consumption pattern acts as moderator between production-perception and price determination process of agriculture products. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>Estimating the future production of agricultural products by determinant of price and with the traditional methods is not sufficient in today’s dynamic market scenario; the psychological aspect of the future production is a must requirement to estimate the future production, which ultimately becomes the input for planning and strategy.

The excessive use of chemical fertilizer leads to a critical contribution to the environment, such as the decline of soil fertility and shallot productivity in the future. Whereas biofertilizer is one of the alternative ways to diminish the usage of chemical fertilizer to support sustainable agriculture. However, the majority of shallot’s farmers have a lack of knowledge towards biofertilizer. This study aims to analyze the influence of attitude, subjective norms, and perception toward the intention of using biofertilizers. This research was conducted in September 2022 – November 2022 in Gondang and Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The respondents are considered by census method, and it is distributed to 140 shallot farmers who consist of biofertilizer users. The data was analyzed by using Partial Least Square (PLS) in order to examine the influence of attitude, subjective norms, and perception towards the intention of using biofertilizer. Overall, it is illustrated that attitude, subjective norms and perception have a positive and significant influence towards the intention of using biofertilizer among shallot farmers.

The Malaysian modest fashion industry is a lucrative product category that is worth to look out for since 61.3% of its population are Muslims. Thus, it is imperative that the preferences of the Muslims youth in fashion design are determined. This could invariably give fashion designers the direction forward in creativity and productivity. The preferences of modest fashion in this study were determined by comparing modest clothing of well-known designers from Indonesia and Malaysia. The characteristics of modest fashion designs done by selected fashion designers from both countries were observed and various main features were categorized. A quantitative method of surveys was then done to gauge the perceptions of 50 Malaysian youth towards their preferred modest fashion design by comparing the characteristics of Indonesia and Malaysian modest fashion. Further qualitative method was also done by giving the respondents an open question. It was found that the respondents preferred minimalist designs and perceived that Malaysian modest fashion designs are more sharia compliant compared to the Indonesian modest fashion design. Malaysian youth would like to see more creative and innovative designs in the future. It is recommended that Malaysian designers to use a bolder approach and more creativity in their designs. The instrument used could be enhanced by giving more clothing examples that could identify more characteristics of the modest fashion designs that meet consumers demands.

Abstract&#x0D; Amid increasingly regional economic competition, accelerating productivity adhere special importance, whereas boosting the quality over quantity of human-capital comprises an important component of productivity and growth. This research tries to identify the two sister universities: Bacha Khan University at Charsadda (BKUC) and Abdul Wali Khan University at Mardan (AWKUM), students’ perception regarding educational environment. Structured questionnaire method being followed to quantify both universities’ students perception regarding educational, administrative and their response towards job searching. Responses of the students at BKUC were more varied than students at AWKUM. But at structural level, due to the lack of space availability, lack of proper training, number of permanent faculty members, and curriculum design and delivery, students at BKUC are more interested to have libraries, sufficient number of classrooms, permanent faculty members to ease supervisor availability for the purpose to conduct smoothly their academic activities. Whereas, after graduation most of the students hunt for government jobs as compared to other selected areas of work. But due to the development differences of Mardan and Charsadda regions, students at AWKUM prefers to establish their own businesses as compared to BKUC.

Anxiety is defined as fear or worry to a perceived, imminent challenge or threat either in the present or the future. The experience would be an exaggeration in the perception of situational threats. This may cause muscular tension and guarded behaviors. The prevalence of anxiety among adults in Pakistan is 34% (range 29-66% for women and 10-33% for men).1 There is a high prevalence of anxiety in adolescents more in male gender, 22.5% 2, and an estimate of 65% in the shelter homes and 51% in the community samples of children.3 Variation in anxiety is attributable to the difference in perception and symptoms related to a threatening situation. For example, Generalized Anxiety is characterized by excessive worry about numerous things. In Social Anxiety the individual is fearful or avoidant of social interaction and situations that involve the possibility of being scrutinized. Separation Anxiety refers to fear of separation from an attachment figure. Stage Fright is characterized by a consistent failure to speak at public occasions. Among students it is common to experience Exam or Performance Anxiety, which falls under the umbrella of generalized anxiety disorder. Performance anxiety presents with worries about failure in regards to accomplishing something specific or a fear of failing to perform effectively in similar situations. It is generally noted that anxious students perform poorly and are less motivated in highly evaluated exam situations as compared to a relaxed student.4 Multiple factors can lead to the development of anxiety among students negatively impacting their performance that include; self-doubt, insufficient preparation, fear of scrutiny, and facing failure.5 Anxiety is curable and at the same time treatable. Anxiety gets worse when not attended to by engaging with appropriate services. Among students, clarity in their study goals and a stepwise approach towards their future goals can help ease the burden and the tension (anxiety) about it. A good routine and healthy eating habits have always been noted with mental well-being. Conducting a self-evaluation to determine one’s strengths and areas for improvement and adopting a clear, feasible study plan coupled with consistency has been proven very effective.

Background: Prioritizing undergraduate research is emphasized to develop critical analytical skills and thinking, independent writing, future clinical practice, enhanced employability, and improved research productivity. Despite far reaching consequences, research perception of homeopathic undergraduate students has barely been investigated to date. Poor participation of homeopathic undergraduates in research is reflected by a single MEDLINE indexed publication with adequate students’ contribution in the last decade. We aimed to assess their knowledge and attitude towards research and to identify barriers towards successful conduct of research. Methods: Institutional cross-sectional survey was carried out during August-September, 2013 in the four Government undergraduate homeopathic schools in West Bengal, India involving 902 participants. A semi-structured questionnaire was developed for the purpose depending on earlier studies on medical undergraduates. 364 completed responses were analyzed in the end. Results: Study sample mostly spanned 18-25 years of age group (94%), belonged to urban families (44.8%), with no gender differences (almost 1:1) and no physicians in family (73.1%). Maximum complete responses were obtained from 3rd year students (61.5%) and students of Calcutta Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital (51.2%). In spite of willingness to participate and keeping a positive attitude towards research, current involvement, training, knowledge and awareness remained quite unsatisfactory. Lack of infrastructure was identified as the chief barrier towards research. Conclusion: Undergraduates had a positive attitude towards homeopathic research, but need a realistic understanding of the research process. Opportunities for research skill development are underdeveloped.

Climate change hinders economic growth across the globe, whereas green products and/or the adoption of green practices can effectively mitigate the deteriorating conditions of climate. A large proportion of the world population is living in remote areas with low income, and they should be included in the mitigation efforts to reduce the damaging effects of climate change. Therefore, this study intends to examine the intentions and behaviors towards green composting among low-income rural households to generate income, improve agricultural productivity, and reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers. This study adopted a cross-sectional research design and used structured interviews to collect quantitative data from 420 low-income households living in rural areas in Peninsular Malaysia. This study adopted the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and extended the TPB by embedding the constructs of perceived benefits and eco-literacy into the attitude towards the environment, normative beliefs by extending the subjective norms, and perception of startup resources by extending the perceived behavioral control. The study outcomes revealed that eco-literacy and perceived benefits had a significantly positive effect on attitude towards the environment; normative belief on subjective norms; perception of startup resources on perceived behavioral control; attitude towards the environment on subjective norms; perceived behavioral control on intention towards green composting; and intention towards green composting on green composting adoption behavior. The findings may serve as a guideline to policymakers for the adoption of composting, which can mitigate environmental issues in addition to generating economic activities for low-income residents in Peninsular Malaysia. The study’s limitations and future research opportunities are reported as well.

The article reveals the problem of forming the professional and pedagogical orientation of future teachers of foreign languages. This idea is revealed by the authors in different ways, but there is no consensus on the defined concept. Modern researchers of pedagogical sciences define that the productivity of professional and pedagogical orientation is provided not only by creative and intellectual abilities, but also determined by the structure of professional motivation as the main system of the teacher's personality and professional activity. Usually this term is understood as a person’s perception of goals, guidelines of beliefs, which are indicators of his level of formation of professional activity. The main competences of professional orientation are highlighted: positive perception of future professional activity; compliance with the future profession of a foreign language teacher; motivational component, interest in future pedagogical activity, psychological and moral values, and readiness for future professional activity of a foreign language teacher. Features of pedagogical focus, which includes the personal qualities of the future teacher, which determine the awareness of the goals and tasks of professional activity in the system of motivation of the foreign language teacher, are determined. The main theoretical and methodological factors of the professional and pedagogical orientation of future teachers of foreign languages are described: educational and pedagogical process, content, forms, methods and means of teaching in foreign language classes; professional motivation of future teachers; planning of the educational process of students; high level of professional competence of teachers and future specialists; psychological and pedagogical factors that influence the process of formation of professional competence of future specialists. The main motives that influence the process of formation of the professional and pedagogical orientation of future teachers of foreign languages are highlighted: internal motives (professional activity, positive attitude towards the future profession of a teacher); external motives (personal needs of the individual, which are satisfied in the future professional activity of the individual and reflect certain aspects of professional self-awareness).

This research addresses a challenging issue, employment protection in China, including unemployment insurance, work accident insurance and the concept of co-determination. Although the ideology of Sino-communism seems to share some elective affinity with the comprehensive arrangements of labor protection in modern welfare capitalism, in reality, the mainstream economic elites of post-Mao China enthusiastically embraced neoliberal ideology in the 1980s and 1990s, maintaining a critical attitude towards employment protection policies through the lens of economic efficiency and productivity. However, since the millennium, the ruling elites of China have started to promote a certain version of an inclusive and social market economy, and Western ideas and discourses on employment protection have become prevalent. This paper outlines the institutional reforms, dynamics, mechanisms and constraints in the development of employment protection arrangements in China since the millennium. Further, emphasis is placed on the ideational level, with a special focus on domestic discussions, debates, discourses and interpretations of “co-determination” from several major Western nations including Germany, the Nordic countries, the Anglo-Saxon nations and Japan. Through the academic “barometer,” the future development of employment protection in China is discussed.

Purpose: Drastic and fundamental changes are increasingly occurring in the environment in which organizations operate. An obvious manifestation of the responses towards this turbulent environment is the introduction of performance contracting as part of the broader public sector reforms aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness in the management of the services. Employees form a major stakeholder group in an enterprise. However, their productivity and performance is dependent on their degree of motivation. This can be influenced by how they perceive and interpret various initiatives that may be introduced by the organization; a critical one in this regard being introduction of performance contracting. Performance contracting is a devolved management by outcome rather than management by processes. It provides a range of management instruments used within the public sector to define responsibilities and expectations between parties to achieve mutually agreed result. This research work sought to investigate the disconnect that may arise between employee perception of performance contracting in state corporations, based on their initial expectations from such a plan. The main objectives investigated during the study were to establish employee perception of the performance contracts adopted by the state corporations.&#x0D; Methodology: A sample of 160 respondents was used in the study. The data collected was presented using tables and analyzed using descriptive statistics i.e. frequencies, percentages, mean scores and standard deviations. &#x0D; Findings: The study established that there was a significant perception gap between employee expectations and perceived performance of the strategy in all indicators measure.&#x0D; Unique contributions to theory, practice and policy: Recommendations made were that, all employees need to be stakeholders in the future direction of the organization, even if it be in varying degrees. Their daily performance and activities should be measured along the specific milestones and core values identified by the contract, since what cannot be measured cannot be managed.

Agriculture is the backbone of most Sub-Saharan African economies accounting for 40 % of the GDP and 80% employment. Yet agricultural graduates have not been able to “hit the ground running” upon graduation. This study assessed the quality of agricultural graduates from Kenyan Universities in terms of relevance to job market demands. A mixed method approach was used to collect data through a personal interview survey and focus group discussions involving 54 public and private organizations. Descriptive statistics was used to generate means and frequencies to validate the study hypotheses. Results indicated that employers’ main concern on quality of graduates were poor interpersonal (&gt; 90%), communication (53%), practical (&gt;90%) and character (78%) skills. Further future agriculture will be impacted by competencies in practical skills (56%) and training in contemporary issues like climate change (17%). Success of agricultural production to a large degree depends on the human resources available within the sector. If the quality of university graduates is poor, it negatively affects the entire knowledge chain. This research also has an implication for university administrators and policy makers in training holistic graduates that meet employers’ and socio-economic development needs. Integrating job market requirements into university curricula can improve the quality of graduates that directly impact agricultural productivity for economic development and poverty reduction.

To achieve the FAO's goals of increasing global agricultural productivity and soybean production by 2050, understanding small-scaler farmers' perceptions of the sustainability of soybean production is crucial. This study involved a sample size of 204 participants, randomly selected from a population of 433. Correlation and regression analyses assessed small-scale farmers' perceptions of factors affecting soybean production sustainability in Nkangala District Municipality in Mpumalanga Province. This was achieved by examining the influence of participants' perceived factors and attitudes towards soybean production's sustainability. The inferential findings revealed that farming, economic, extension and education, social, and policymaking factors affected participants' perceived attitudes towards the sustainability of soybean production in the study area. This suggests that any unit increase in these factors is associated with an increased probability of the participants' perceived attitudes towards the sustainability of soybean production. Future studies may focus on socioeconomic factors affecting participant's perceived attitudes towards the sustainability of soybean production. The paper concludes by recommending that these factors should be considered by the government and policymakers when implementing programs to improve soybean sustainability through the inclusion of small-scale farmers.

The practice of early-age marriage has been observed to have a multitude of adverse effects on various domains, including mental health, physical health, education, productivity, and most significantly, the quality of human resources in the future. The practice of early-age marriage has been observed in various locations, including the village of Arajang in the Wajo region. The legality of early-age marriage is addressed in National Law No.16 of 2019, which stipulates that marriage is only permissible when both people involved have attained the age of 19. However, it is important to note that the actual findings diverge significantly. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing open interviews as the primary technique of data collection. Additionally, deductive reasoning was employed in the analysis of the gathered data. This research has identified several factors that influence early-age marriage, including cultural and traditional practices, levels of knowledge and education, instances of adultery, and economic and poverty-related concerns. Another outcome of this study indicates that the residents of Arajang do not exhibit concerns regarding early-age marriage. Consequently, there is a pressing necessity to undertake comprehensive educational initiatives to raise awareness about the consequences of child marriage.

PurposeIn this viewpoint, the authors argue that the predominant method of analyzing conflict management focuses too heavily on the managerial interests in administrative efficiency and productivity rather than on the needs of individuals and organizations. The aim of this paper is to employ Weber's analysis of conflict systems, specifically the distinction between formal and substantive rationality, to support the authors’ view.Design/methodology/approachThis is a viewpoint, where content is dependent on the author's opinion and interpretation.FindingsConflict management based on Weber's theories of formal and substantive rationality will benefit organizations and society by promoting a more positive perception of corporate behavior.Research limitations/implicationsFuture research could examine the relationship between organizational justice and the more global concepts of formality and rationality. Similarly, future research on justice may be expanded by through the notion and perception of legitimacy by members of the organization. How employees accept a system as fair and just has potential import for future justice research.Practical implicationsThe combination of formal and substantive rationality offers a practical, and meaningful, way of dealing with conflict from a personal orientation as well as an organizational one. It orients conflict resolution toward people rather than productivity concerns. It further safeguards organizational interests by minimizing litigation, negative publicity, and other adverse effects of conflict.Originality/valueWeber theorized that formal rationality requires organizations to develop clear, objective, and universal procedures in order to carry out administrative routines. Substantive rationality, in contrast, acknowledges that specific cases may demand particularized decision‐making focusing on individual cases. The paper draws on the procedural justice literature to show how these procedures can be implemented in a fair manner.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has spread almost throughout the world. It makes all educational institutions in Indonesia experienced a lockdown in an undetermined time. As a result, teachers must switch to online teaching methods, while students must adapt to the online learning environment in a short time. Vocational education emphasizes not only the mastery of knowledge but also skills. In the learning process, students&#39; perceptions can be used as evaluations to improve the quality of learning. This study aimed to provide an overview of students&#39; perceptions of Mechanical Engineering Education on online learning as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used survey methods and data collection in the form of instruments with a Likert scale with a sample of 56 students. The results of this study indicate that teachers in managing online learning are not in line with student expectations. Students feel that online learning has not provided better experience and productivity in mastering competencies, but can provide motivation and ease in their learning. Some students stated that they had the ease of access to resources, but students were still reluctant to use it sustainably in the future.

As modes of work are becoming more diverse and distributed, it necessitates a revaluation of the approaches taken in designing of future workplaces. This paper argues that we are moving towards work practices that are post-digital, hybrid and collaborative in nature, requiring a closer examination of the values and requirements expected for such a workplace. In this light, the paper presents a Systematic Literature Review of research pertinent to workplace dynamics, design and management within the last decade. Two themes of ‘quality of life and satisfaction’ and ‘productivity and collaboration’ were found to be key areas of focus in literature. Collectively factors contributing to work dynamics and performance under these two themes were: crowding, degree of connectivity, degree of sociability, employee culture and perception of work, fatigue and stress, indoor environmental quality, motivation, conditions of the remote site of work, degree and culture of communication, degree of control, distractions with non-work related content, infrastructure for effective communication and interaction, mobility and flexibility, office layout and degree of spaciousness, and work and cognitive load. These raised a number of expectations for the workplace, which this paper argues renders the future workplace as a tempo-spatial phenomenon, juxtaposing constructs of the personal/individual with the social collective, dysconnectivity with connectivity and asynchrony with synchrony within a network of functions distributed across physical and digital spaces of work.

Managers form a major stakeholder group in an enterprise. This research work sought to investigate the disconnect that may arise between management perception of performance contracting in state corporations, based on their initial expectations from such a plan. The main objectives investigated during the study were: To establish management’s level of awareness of the performance contracts adopted by the state corporations and to determine management perception of performance contracting at state corporations.&#x0D; Methodology: A sample of 160 respondents was used in the study. The data collected was presented using tables and analyzed using descriptive statistics i.e. frequencies, percentages, mean scores and standard deviations. &#x0D; Findings: The major findings were: There is a very high level of awareness of performance contracting in the organizations and that the organization’s capacity to achieve its objectives has greatly improved. To a moderate extent, the managers felt that there was mutual support and trust at all levels of the organization and empowerment of employees in their jobs. General conclusions drawn are that the organizations were very successful in implementing performance contracting, and that to a moderate extent, the organizations have developed a reasonable sense of direction.&#x0D; Unique contributions to theory, practice and policy: Recommendations made were that, all employees need to be stakeholders in the future direction of the organization, even if it be in varying degrees. Their daily performance and activities should be measured along the specific milestones and core values identified by the contract, since what cannot be measured cannot be managed.

Abstract : The study examined the factors influencing the implementation of the Risk-Based Audit Approach (RBAA). Key variables identified were auditor capability, availability of audit professionals, integration of information technology, job pressure on auditors, competitiveness of audit firms, and audit fees. The respondents included sole practitioners and employed auditors in local audit firms. The research used a quantitative method, employing structured questionnaires to capture respondents&rsquo; perceptions. The findings revealed that auditor capability is the most critical factor in applying RBAA. For effective implementation, auditors need industry-specific experience, sufficient training hours, balanced staffing leverage, investment in IT and productivity tools, compliance with firm regulations, and a good ratio of audit hours to risk areas and audit phases. Skilled auditors are more adept at identifying and addressing potential issues. Future research could explore factors affecting auditor capability and the availability of audit professionals.

Abstract The decline in youth population and the upsurge in ageing farmer population have resulted in low agricultural output and per capital productivity in rural Nigeria, which is a threat to the national food security. High school students’ perception of agriculture and factors influencing their willingness to study agriculture in tertiary institutions were therefore investigated in this study. Information from 285 science students in high schools was analysed using descriptive statistics, Likert scale and logistic regression. Age of the students was 15.30 ± 1.17 years with almost equal distribution of both sexes. About half (50.5 %) of them wanted to study medicine where as only 4.6 % of the respondents were willing to study agriculture in the university. A higher percentage of female students (57.6 %) were willing to study agriculture in tertiary institution than their male counterparts (42.4 %). A higher percentage of students from public schools (51.4 %) were willing to study agriculture whereas 48.6 % of those from private schools were willing to do so. The students were undecided about the contribution of agriculture to national development but strongly disagreed that agriculture gives less income than other professions. Major motivating factors that can stimulate the respondents’ willingness to study agriculture were career awareness program in agriculture, practical knowledge of agriculture and agricultural excursion. The likelihood of a high school student’s willingness to study agriculture increased significantly with having a father who primarily practised agriculture and supports agricultural education, attending a school where crude implements are not used, visit to a mechanized farm and the youth’s willingness to own a farm in the future irrespective of the course of study, while attending a private school will decrease it. In conclusion, high school students had average perception of agriculture and were not willing to study agriculture in tertiary institutions. Suggestions are presented on how to change this negative attitude towards this vital branch of science.

Lately, younger people have not involved themselves in farming activities, nor have they continued their parents’ jobs as farmers. Nevertheless, agriculture continues to play a pivotal role in Indonesian food production. Some studies reveal that fewer young people have been engaging in farming because aging farmers are unwilling to bequeath farms to younger farmers for educational, financial, and motivational reasons. Thus, this study sought to describe and analyze the motivating factors why farmers continue farming in Margokaton village, Sleman district, Yogyakarta province. The study gathered primary information from 82 farmers using a structured questionnaire. It used Alderfer’s existence-relatedness-growth (ERG) theory to assess farmer motivations. It found that, overall, rice farmers’ motivation, as seen from the motivation of ERG needs, was “moderate.” Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient analysis shows farmers’ motivation correlating with their education, side jobs, perception of farming as an occupation, farmland areas, productivity of paddy fields, household income from crops farming, farming experience, maintenance of the farmland, having daughters only, and parental encouragement toward farming. Understanding the factors that correlate with farmers’ motivation to continue farming can help assess the future of rice farming.

The tea cultivation highly depends on the prevailing weather conditions and is extremely sensitive to climate variability and changes both short and long term. The excessive rainfall and high temperature can cause the low productivity and low quality of the tea. This study has attempted to understand the perception of tea estate workers about the impact of climate variability and change on tea cultivation in Pedro tea estate which is the highest tea estate located about 3 km east of Nuwaraeliy in Sri Lanka. James Tailor has established this tea estate in 1885 and it had 668.38 hectares with the elevation about 1910 m. But the tea areas extent is now decreased due to various factors. The main objective of this study is to identify the public perception of tea working community towards the climate variability and change on tea cultivation and compare with some original climate data analysis. The primary data have been collected from a questionnaire survey, observations and focus group interviews with tea estate community. Rapid Rural Participatory Appraisal is used to gather for further information. 25 tea estate workers were randomly selected for the survey. Focused group discussions are also held with tea estate manager and other officers to get an in-depth preview of the impact of climate variability on tea cultivation. Two field surveys have been conducted in the month of October 2011 and February 2015. The experiences gain from both field surveys is added to the results and discussions where necessary. The climate data of rainfall and temperature have been collected from various secondary reports and Department of Meteorology, and analyzed through the various statistical methods. Questionnaire data is tabulated, coded and analyzed using various graphical methods. Increases of temperature, dry spells, frequency of drought, high intensity of rainfall, soil water deficit and dry soil condition have affected the tea cultivation in the study area. Planting of the drought tolerance tea, growing of high shade trees, introduce rainwater harvesting, proper land preparation, and soil moisture conservation practices can be introduced in the study area. Adaptation practiced should be encouraged because preliminary assessments showed that climate variability will have a significant impact on future tea cultivation of high elevation in Sri Lanka.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused changes in the global education system, requiring all educational institutions to adapt online instruction in response to government regulations such as lockdowns, travel restrictions, and the ban of public meetings, among others. As the country recovers from the effects of this pandemic, the Philippine government has chosen to return educational institutions' activities to face-to-face mode. During the pandemic, several academics sought to learn about the influence of online education on students' academic achievement, students' attitudes about online learning, the impact on students' mental health, and parents' perceptions and experiences. However, despite the abundance of published material, there is a lack of studies on students' preference between online education and traditional education, notably among tourism management students in the Philippines, as well as studies that have determined the differences on students' choice in terms of the type of institution they are enrolled at, motivating the researchers to conduct this study. Using a descriptive research design taking on quantitative research approach, the researchers aimed to determine the experience of tourism management students in selected colleges and universities in Region IV-A, Philippines towards online and traditional education in terms of productivity, efficiency, and convenience. Findings of this study serve as guide for government agencies concerned with education and educational institutions to understand their stakeholder, allowing them to come up with more preferable policy decisions in the future.

Background: Despite worldwide expanding implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems, healthcare professionals conducted limited number of studies to explore factors that might facilitate or jeopardize using these systems. This study underscores the impact of nurses’ opinions, perceptions, and computer competencies on their attitudes toward using an EHR system. Methods: With randomized sampling, a cross-sectional exploratory design was used. The sample consisted of 169 nurses who worked at a public teaching hospital in Oman. They completed self-administered questionnaire. Several standardized valid and reliable instruments were utilized. Results: Seventy-four percent of our study nurses had high positive attitudes toward the EHR system. The least ranked perception scores (60.4%) were linked to perceiving that suggestions made by nurses about the system would be taken into account. Nurses who reported that the hospital sought for suggestions for customization of the system [OR: 2.54 (95% CI: 1.09, 5.88), p = .03], who found the system as an easy-to-use clinical information system [OR: 6.53 (95% CI: 1.72, 24.75), p = .01], who reported the presence of good relationship with the system’s managing personnel [OR: 3.59 (95% CI: 1.13, 11.36), p = .03] and who reported that the system provided all needed health information [OR: 2.97 (95% CI: 1.16, 7.62), p = .02] were more likely to develop high positive attitudes toward the system. Conclusions: To better develop plans to foster the EHR system’s use facilitators and overcome its usage barriers by nursing professionals, more involvement of nurses in system’s customization endeavors is highly suggested. When the system did not disrupt workflows, it would decrease clinical errors and expand nursing productivity. In order to maximize the utilization of the system in healthcare delivery, future research work to investigate the effect of the system on other healthcare providers and inter-professional communications is pressingly needed.

The paper aims to examine the status and prospects of research on Millets as a sustainable crop in India by performing a bibliometric analysis. Scopus data after applying necessary filters yielded 328 research papers in the data set. Our study revealed that research work has gone up significantly in the period 2021-2025 demonstrating the renewed interest in Millets as an important crop. Co-author analysis indicated high level of inter-country as well as intra-country collaborations. Co-occurrence analysis identified ‘Millets,’ ‘India’ and ‘Sustainability’ as prominent words. Clusters indicate a focus on increasing the yield and productivity of millets as it is a sustainable crop which can be used for nutrition. Most of the research work in the field is trying to address the issue from a supply point of view. There is evident research gap as there are very few studies to examine factors affecting consumer behavior, perceptions, and attitudes towards millet. Further research may also be undertaken to look at historical and socio-cultural aspects of millets acceptability covering and comparing the different geographical patterns of consumption. The study is very useful for future researchers as it identifies the research gaps in the existing work done in the area and gives directions for future research.

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education has introduced new opportunities and challenges to teaching and school management. AI tools such as Chat GPT, Grammarly, and AI-based lesson planners are transforming how educators deliver lessons and manage administrative tasks (de Jong, 2020; Takona, 2024). This study explored the perceptions, usage patterns, and attitudes of DepEd personnel in Tandag City toward AI tools, highlighting both the potential benefits and concerns associated with AI adoption. A descriptive quantitative research design was employed, involving 174 DepEd personnel from various roles, including teachers (82.2%), master teachers (5.7%), principals (2.9%), and administrative staff (1.7%). Data were gathered through an online survey and analyzed using statistical methods to determine the respondents’ demographic profiles, level of AI usage, perceptions, and attitudes toward AI integration in education. The findings revealed that most respondents (87.4%) were familiar with AI tools, with Chat GPT being the most commonly used application (60.9%), consistent with trends noted by Zhang et al. (2021). Although AI usage frequency varied, 24.7% of respondents reported using AI tools weekly, while 20.1% used them daily, and 37.4% used them rarely. Despite the widespread use of AI, formal training on AI tools remained limited, with 86.2% of respondents reporting no attendance at related seminars or training, reflecting the gaps identified by Anwar and Gupta (2021). This gap highlights the need for professional development initiatives to build AI literacy and confidence among educators. The study also revealed a generally positive perception of AI, with a mean perception score of 3.71 (SD = 0.33), recognizing its potential to enhance creativity, innovation, and productivity (Davenport et al., 2020). However, respondents expressed concerns about data privacy (64.9%) and job displacement (58.6%), as well as skepticism regarding the reliability of AI-generated content (54.0%) (Frey &amp; Osborne, 2017; Taddeo &amp; Floridi, 2018). While there was cautious optimism regarding the future use of AI in education, many respondents (60.4%) preferred human interaction over AI-powered assistants (Chen et al., 2020). To address these challenges, the study recommends targeted training programs that emphasize practical applications, data security, and ethical considerations. Enhancing AI literacy will enable educators to maximize the benefits of AI while mitigating potential risks. Further research on the long-term impacts of AI adoption in education is essential to ensure effective and responsible integration that fosters inclusive and adaptive learning environments (Brynjolfsson &amp; McAfee, 2017).

Aquaculture contributed 43 per cent of aquatic animal food for human consumption in 2007 (e.g. fish, crustaceans and molluscs, but excluding mammals, reptiles and aquatic plants) and is expected to grow further to meet the future demand. It is very diverse and, contrary to many perceptions, dominated by shellfish and herbivorous and omnivorous pond fish either entirely or partly utilizing natural productivity. The rapid growth in the production of carnivorous species such as salmon, shrimp and catfish has been driven by globalizing trade and favourable economics of larger scale intensive farming. Most aquaculture systems rely on low/uncosted environmental goods and services, so a critical issue for the future is whether these are brought into company accounts and the consequent effects this would have on production economics. Failing that, increased competition for natural resources will force governments to allocate strategically or leave the market to determine their use depending on activities that can extract the highest value. Further uncertainties include the impact of climate change, future fisheries supplies (for competition and feed supply), practical limits in terms of scale and in the economics of integration and the development and acceptability of new bio-engineering technologies. In the medium term, increased output is likely to require expansion in new environments, further intensification and efficiency gains for more sustainable and cost-effective production. The trend towards enhanced intensive systems with key monocultures remains strong and, at least for the foreseeable future, will be a significant contributor to future supplies. Dependence on external feeds (including fish), water and energy are key issues. Some new species will enter production and policies that support the reduction of resource footprints and improve integration could lead to new developments as well as reversing decline in some more traditional systems.

Digital solutions have greatly progressed the automation of procurement functions across industries, including real estate. This study focused on analyzing the effectiveness of in-house-developed applications compared to outsourced systems on the procurement efficiency of property developers. Regardless of the company size, procurement involves several steps to obtain the goods and services needed for the business. One of the distinct functions of the procurement department is to ensure that purchased materials, or services conform to specified requirements at the most economical but good quality and in favorable terms. Streamlining systems, procedures, and processes, overcoming operational challenges, and establishing a sound business culture with well-integrated solutions are the objectives of digitization. This research study aims to ascertain the efficacy of internally developed systems versus externally obtained software for procurement efficiency of real estate developers in Makati City, Philippines, with 65 respondents. The researchers aim to examine the respondents’ perception of the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of in-house-developed systems compared to outsourced applications in achieving procurement efficiency with consideration of the company size and users’ age group. The researchers made use of descriptive and explanatory research methods for the investigation of the significant relationship and differences between the two digital platforms. The results of the study show several significant implications. The demographic profile of the respondents plays a relevant role in the assessment of the effectiveness of internally developed software versus outsourcing for procurement efficiency. Distinct differences were observed in terms of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use between in-house-developed systems and outsourced systems. The findings indicate that individuals who utilize outsourced systems tend to exhibit a greater inclination towards strongly agreeing that their productivity is enhanced and their job performance is improved when utilizing such systems. Conversely, the findings revealed that participants who utilized internally developed systems exhibited a greater propensity to strongly agree that acquiring proficiency in the system and enhancing their skillset was a comparatively effortless endeavor. This study provides recommendations for procurement professionals, property developers, future researchers, and national and local governments to maximize the use of digital platforms for productivity and operational efficiency.

Purpose: Organizational ambidexterity is a promising concept in management science. It is defined as the ability of a company to leverage existing resources by increasing the productivity of current products and services while exploring development niches. The aim of the article is to identify the leading research areas within organizational ambidexterity based on bibliometric analysis carried out on a collection of scientific articles and conference papers indexed in the Scopus database. Findings: Data visualisation was prepared using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.15), which allows analysis of the frequency of keywords in the analysed dataset and, at the same time, an analysis of their co-occurrence with other keywords. The article presents visualisations in the form of both a label view and a density view. Using the VOSviewer software, a summary of 2255 keywords was generated based on the uploaded set of publications and a dictionary allowing the combination or deletion of individual terms. The final map consisted of 36 keywords grouped into six clusters. The theoretical contribution of the paper consists in the identification of six clusters revolving around the issue of organisational ambidexterity. The clusters refer to 1) the relationship between organisational ambidexterity and a company’s ability to innovate, 2) organisational ambidexterity and dynamic capabilities, 3) perception of organisational ambidexterity as a useful framework of product development 4) perception of organisational ambidexterity as a framework to support human resource management, 5) the notion of exploitation and exploration and 6) contextual ambidexterity. Research limitations/implications: The analysis revealed a clear trend away from analysing structural and temporal ambidexterity in companies towards attributing more importance to individual ambidexterity which may be an interesting subject of future research inquiry. A limitation of the study is that it was based on publications from a single database, therefore it is interesting to analyse comparisons between other databases such as Web of Science or IEEE. Sago plants in Indonesia have great potential, such as a very large area, a high source of carbohydrates, high productivity, and can be used as various kinds of derivative products. Sago is a local specific food ingredient in Maluku. Especially people in rural areas consume sago as a staple food. This study aims to determine plantations' condition and sago gardens' development strategy in Sumber Agung Village, East Seram Regency, Maluku Province. The research sample is determined by purposive sampling because farmers desire and are willing to organize sago forests into sago gardens. The number of samples is 80 respondents. The results show that the sago garden is located in an area with Alluvial Plain physiography with choppy microrelief so that there are sporadic spreading basins that cause puddles. The height of this garden's location ranges between 25-35 m above sea level, with a slope varying between 0-3%. This microrelief condition results in a puddle of water, but this puddle is temporal, where the pool occurs during the rainy season and sometime after the rainy season. The people of Sumber Agung Village, who are very, welcoming friendly, and open to developing innovations in the management of sago gardens, are important to preserve Sago in the future. The transmigration community in Sumber Agung Village supports the structuring of sago gardens. This is evidence of ethnic diversity, but concern for Sago is grave. This is good because Maluku is famous for local sago food, so sago forests need to be organized into representative and sustainable sago gardens. The community's perception of factors towards the development of sago plantations shows that the convenience construct does not significantly affect the needs construct. While the aesthetics construct, the benefit significantly influences the needs to construct.

11167 Background: AI Scribes are a leading example of AI implementation in clinical settings, with Oncology practices demonstrating exponential uptake since their introduction. Despite their ever-increasing usage, there are limited studies which directly interrogate the impact of AI Scribes on physician productivity metrics, and few which assess qualitative interpretations of the technology. Methods: This single-center, multi-site study enrolled 27 Medical Oncologists and 3 Primary Care Physicians randomly assigned in a 1:2 ratio to exposure to the Knowtex AI scribe in the initial phase (Phase 1) or control phase (Phase 2). Billing data was collected for 6 months prior to Phase 1 onboarding with Knowtex and for 16 weeks afterward—all within the 2024 fiscal year. During the same period, Phase 2 physicians billing data served as a non-exposed comparison group. Physicians completed opt-in surveys at Week 0 and Week 8 post-exposure assessing confidence and motivation to use the AI Scribe, documentation burden, documentation quality, and experience with the electronic medical record (EMR). Results: All providers adopted the Knowtex AI scribe during their study phase. 4 Phase 2 physicians were excluded from data analysis due to incomplete 2024 fiscal year data. Phase 1 physicians exhibited an increase in mean units (t(10) = 4.44, p &lt; 0.01, d = 1.34, CI [0.90, 2.72]) and mean total billings per working day (t(10) = 4.30, p &lt; 0.01, d = 1.28, CI [$377.55, $1206.75]), a pattern not observed in Phase 2 during the same period. There was no change in the number of diagnostic codes per unit amongst Phase 1 physicians. No learned effect emerged over time in Phase 1 billing metrics or diagnostic coding. Survey findings revealed a strong positive association between Week 0 self-assessed Knowtex understanding and increased units (r(13) = .579, p = 0.024). Physicians reported increased satisfaction with documentation workflow, a reduction in-clinic hours spent on documentation, and increased time spent with patients. Physicians' net impression of EMR challenges markedly decreased following the implementation of the AI scribe (U = 274.5, z=4.054, p &lt; 0.0001). Conclusions: Adoption of an AI Scribe in oncology may enhance certain billing metrics and positively shift physician perceptions of EMR interactions, without affecting the quality of documentation. These findings highlight potential benefits of AI Scribes in improving physician productivity and satisfaction. As AI Scribes trend towards delivering multimodal clinical support tools, future research may focus on the adjunctive effects of AI scribes on procedural efficiencies, such as consistency in billing codes.

In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, agricultural robots have gradually begun to replace humans, to complete various agricultural operations, changing traditional agricultural production methods. Not only is the labor input reduced, but also the production efficiency can be improved, which invariably contributes to the development of smart agriculture. This paper reviews the core technologies used for agricultural robots in non-structural environments. In addition, we review the technological progress of drive systems, control strategies, end-effectors, robotic arms, environmental perception, and other related systems. This research shows that in a non-structured agricultural environment, using cameras and light detection and ranging (LiDAR), as well as ultrasonic and satellite navigation equipment, and by integrating sensing, transmission, control, and operation, different types of actuators can be innovatively designed and developed to drive the advance of agricultural robots, to meet the delicate and complex requirements of agricultural products as operational objects, such that better productivity and standardization of agriculture can be achieved. In summary, agricultural production is developing toward a data-driven, standardized, and unmanned approach, with smart agriculture supported by actuator-driven-based agricultural robots. This paper concludes with a summary of the main existing technologies and challenges in the development of actuators for applications in agricultural robots, and the outlook regarding the primary development directions of agricultural robots in the near future.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to identify the perception of workers before, during and after the implementation of changes derived from the lean manufacturing (LM) technique called value stream mapping (VSM) analysis and the causes that lead to this perception.Design/methodology/approachA qualitative methodological research design was adopted, using individual transcribed and coded interviews as the primary method of data collection.FindingsAt the beginning of the VSM changes, this study found strong denial and resistance emotional responses from workers due to the uncertainty and stress generated. The main cause of this resistance was their lack of understanding of the VSM analysis process presenting technical concepts, due to their educational level and the lack of a pre-existing organisational culture oriented toward continuous improvement. However, in the last stage of change, it is found that the workers accepted the new improvement proposals without resignation, improving their productivity and work performance because they saw and understood the improvements as effective.Practical implicationsThis study will enable those responsible for organisations to anticipate the negative reactions that may arise from the organisational changes stemming from the implementation of VSM improvements. In addition, it adds new knowledge bases to the literature on the emotional consequences for employees during LM changes through VSM.Originality/valueThis study provides a qualitative analysis of the perceived emotional impact on workers that participated in LM techniques, in this case, focused on VSM analysis. It is an exploratory study that serves as a foundation for future research in the quantitative field.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to assess how gender influences stress response strategies among quantity surveyors in workplaces with a view to enhancing job performance.Design/methodology/approachPrimary data were obtained through a survey, which utilised structured questionnaires administered to quantity surveyors in Lagos, Oyo and Ondo States in Nigeria. In total, 334 quantity surveyors in government establishments, consulting and construction firms were randomly sampled to survey male quantity surveyors, and a purposive sampling technique was used to collect data from female quantity surveyors. Data collected were analysed using percentile, using mean item score (MIS) and Mann–WhitneyUtest.FindingsIn total, 27 stress response strategies were identified in dealing with stressors in quantity surveyors’ workplaces. The results of the analysis revealed the level of usage of the stress response strategies with the highest being “seeking clarification with colleagues or superiors” achieving an MIS of 3.95, followed by “belonging to professional association” (MIS=3.67), and “opportunity to discuss with manager/supervisor” (MIS=3.66). The scoring of the level of usage of the stress response strategies (2.20&lt;MIS&lt;3.95) suggested that although quantity surveying organisations were familiar with a good number of workplace stress response strategies, a significant number of the strategies were neither suitable nor adopted. Moreover, stress response strategies with high a rating of familiarity were also the most utilised and most effective.Practical implicationsThe study provided implications for management roles in identifying stressors and appropriate strategies towards creating a healthy working environment and improving job productivity of female quantity surveyors in their workplaces.Originality/valueThe results show no significant difference in gender perception of the effectiveness of the 27 stress response strategies assessed except three. The first is “opportunity to discuss with manager/supervisor” with the Mann–WhitneyUtest (MWW) value of 3.337 atp=0.001. The other two are “prioritizing future workloads” (MWW=−3.226;p=0.002) and “clubbing or socializing” (MWW=−3.483;p=0.001). These findings imply that both male and female quantity surveyors perceived the use of these three stress response strategies in different ways. In this regard, although all the strategies may be applied as influenced by employers’ decision and preference, managers may have to exercise caution when applying them while dealing with male and female employees.

This paper provides a review of recent developments in population-based approaches to community health and explores the origins of the population health concept and its implications for the operation of health service management. There is a growing perception among health professionals that the key to improving health outcomes will be the implementation of integrated and preventive population-based resource management rather than investment in systems that respond to crises and health problems at the acute end of the service provision spectrum only. That is, we will need increasingly to skew our community health and welfare investments towards preventive care, education, lifestyle change, self-management and environmental improvement if we are to reduce the rate of growth in the incidence of chronic disease and mitigate the impact of these diseases upon the acute health care system. While resources will still need to be devoted to the treatment and management of physical trauma, infectious diseases, inherited illness and chronic conditions, it is suggested we could reduce the rate at which demand for these services is increasing at present by managing our environment and communities better, and through the implementation of more effective early intervention programs across particular population groups. Such approaches are known generally as population health management, as opposed to individual or illness - based health management' or even public health - and suggest that health systems might productively focus in the future on population level causation and not just upon disease-specific problems or illness management after the fact. Population health approaches attempt to broaden our understanding of causation and manage health through an emphasis on the health of whole populations and by building healthy communities rather than seeing "health care" as predominantly about illness management or responses to health crises. The concept also presupposes the existence of cleaner and healthier environments, clean water and food, and the existence of vibrant social contexts in which individuals are able to work for the overall good of communities and, ultimately, of each other.

Background: Engaging in meaningful work has potential to improve our mental health and foster well-being, however, more than 15% of individuals currently in work are experiencing symptoms indicative of a common mental health condition, primarily mild to moderate anxiety and depression. There is evidence these conditions can be either prevented or effectively treated in the workplace. However, left untreated these conditions are associated with increased absenteeism, presenteeism, under performance and reduced productivity. Digital interventions implemented in the workplace are an efficient, effective, and scalable way to raise awareness and promote mental health and wellbeing initiatives to employees. Integrating digital interventions that have been generalised from clinical settings have displayed potential in the workplace, primarily those that employ cognitive behavioural therapy, stress-management or mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques. Despite this, there is a shortage of gold standard evidence to determine which interventions are effective for specific workforce populations alongside identifying those which may potentially cause harm. There is also a paucity of digital interventions integrated into real world care, prioritising the need for exploration of how they are implemented effectively with clinician buy in. This study was conducted with Inspire, a social enterprise that delivers a range of mental health and wellbeing interventions to organisations across the UK &amp; Ireland. Aim: The overall aim of this study is to determine the acceptability and effectiveness of using a digital tool as a workplace wellbeing intervention, by investigating the perceived drivers of as well as barriers to use, benefits, and challenges and provide recommendations for future development. Methods: Semi structured interviews were conducted with 14 employees from five sectors, recruited from Inspire’s customer base. Interview questions were guided by current literature and transcripts were analysed using thematic analysis. This study was approved by Ulster University’s Ethics Filter Committee. Results: Digital interventions were considered most useful when implemented with an integrated care approach, where they are blended with face to face services. Time, lack of access to non-digital healthcare , and stigma surrounding face to face interventions were highlighted as potential drivers towards using a digital intervention. Benefits identified included 24/7 availability, ease of use, and how interventions can be used to support not only individual employees, but teams and colleagues. Challenges were associated with accessibility, particularly for non-office-based populations. Participants suggested the quality of digital interventions varies greatly, and barriers to use include connectivity problems, poor digital literacy and lack of equipment for non-office-based staff. When providing recommendations for improving digital interventions, participants suggested easy access to content delivered in short, “bite-sized” formats. Personalisation of content was also highlighted, including content tailored for specific workplace sectors, or personalised to their location, such as rural areas. Conclusion: Digital interventions were perceived to be most useful and accessible when integrated into workplace wellbeing programmes, that include traditional mental health services, such as counselling. Multiple drivers of usage, benefits, challenges, and recommendations were identified by employers. Further understanding of how these recommendations can impact the effectiveness of integrating digital interventions into workplace wellbeing programmes should be explored.
