This letter presents a new architecture for othogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) code generator. The basic idea of the proposed method is to generate the code sequence using the outputs of binary counter and the binary representation of the code number. The proposed architecture can generate the code sequences as adding the only combinational logic circuits without an additional counter, if other code sequences are required according to SFs. Since the proposed generator is applied to W-CDMA modem that used different SFs simultaneously, it contributes to the reduction of the modem hardware complexity.

The purpose of image encryption is to provide data privacy and security. The former ensures that only authorized personnel can access the original content, while the latter implies that there is no evident relationship between the encrypted and the original content, and that the key space is equally likely and large enough. In the current state of the field, there are several proposals of image encryption techniques with very high privacy (in terms of entropy) but weak in terms of security (i.e., small key space). Recently, a new encoding-based method that provides a long key space (namely 8,57 × 10506) with a middle value of entropy (87%) was proposed. Our proposal preserves the strength of the image encryption methods based on encoding, but with a higher value placed on security than the preliminary works. Every pixel of an image is mapped into an orthogonal code based on 256 bits. The 8-OVSF codes are selected to encode the image, given that the entropy of the inter-symbol is near the possible maximum. Numerous test results verify that our ciphered data have a very high value of entropy (98,5%) with an equally likely and long key space (8,57 × 10506), thus providing an adequate balance between privacy and security.

The characteristics of wireless channel are determined by multipath propagation. The transmitted signal will be scattered so that it produces fading. Fading influenced by multipath component will cause delay spread which damages the signal. Thus, spread spectrum technology is used by using a bandwidth that is greater than the original signal. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the number of multipath components on orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) codes on multipath fading channels viewed from values and Bit Error Rate (BER) graphs versus Energy Bits per Noise (Eb/No). This study would compare the performance of OVSF code communication system on multipath channels by varying multipath components of 4, 8, 12, 16 and the length of OVSF codes used of 16, 8 and 4. The simulation results showed an increase in BER values when the number of multipath components was added. The more the number of multipath components used, the more the number of reflected signals that will interfere with the desired signal in the receiver. The length of the OVSF code influences the performance of the OVSF code on the multipath fading channel, because each code has a different processing gain value that is affected by the length of the code used

This paper presents a new methodology to encrypt voice signals, in such a way that they simulate being a noise signal. The objective is to obtain a signal that does not generate suspicions about its content, while protecting the message. The process is based on the spread and scrambling of the signal through the use of OVSF (orthogonal variable spreading factor) codes. The security of the method is based mainly on the input value used for the randomization phase. From a computational cost point of view, the use of fixed-length codes allows for a shorter retrieval time compared to a similar method based on variable-length codes. Regarding the encrypted signal, its main characteristic is its high entropy (very close to the ideal value). Finally, in the recovery process, a signal identical to the original is obtained.

LoRa (or LoRaWAN) is by far the best known representative of narrowband communication systems designed for the Internet of Things. As a system dedicated specifically for long-range operations, it possesses a considerable processing gain for the energetic link budget improvement and a remarkable immunity to multipath and interference. The paper describes outcomes of measurement campaigns during which the LoRa performance was tested against these two factors, that is, a heavy-multipath propagation and a controlled, variable interference generated, respectively, in a reverberation chamber and an anechoic chamber. Results allow quantitative appraisal of the system behavior under these harsh conditions with respect to LoRa’s three major configurable parameters: the spreading factor, bandwidth, and code rate. They also allow dividing LoRa configurational space into three distinct sensitivity regions: in the white region it is immune to both interference and multipath propagation, in the light-grey region it is only immune to the multipath phenomenon but sensitive to interference, and in the dark grey region LoRa is vulnerable to both phenomena.

This research study deals with socio-cultural factor of sectarianism in connection with peace. A sample size of 279 respondents was randomly selected of those respondents who belong to Shia and Sunni community in the three selected villages in District Hangu Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. Frequencies distribution of data was conducted to know comprehensively about data layout. Moreover, Chi square (χ2) statistics was used to determine the level of association between dependent variable i.e. Perception about Peace with the independent variables (Socio Culture Factors). Simple liner regression model was applied to measure the dependence of one variable (dependent variable) upon other variable(s) (independent variable(s). The results disclosed that peace as the main demand (89.2%) of the people. While at bi-variate level social differences (p= .000), spreading fake rumors and issues (p=.000) in the influence of foreign states (p=.000), External interference also destroyed peace by implementing their religious ideology (p=.000). The overall model was discovered highly significant which shows that Socio Culture Factors has direct effect on peace of the community The study recommends that peace can be restored in the area on the sustainable basis of media, political parties and religious persons play a positive role. There should be strict ban on hate motivated speeches and literature, along with an eye on both the internal and external forces disturbing peace in the area as well as coordination and cooperation among the rival groups can further strengthen the process.

A method that can be used if there is a spatial factor and if overdispersion happens in a count data is Geographically Weighted Zero-Inflated Poisson Regression (GWZIPR). This research aimed to analyze the number of malaria cases in every regency/city of Sumatra Land using the GWZIPR method and distribution mapping of factors affecting the number of malaria cases in Sumatra Land. Data involved in this research was the number of malaria cases as the response variable and the predictor variable as a percentage of households that have access to proper sanitation, a percentage of households that have access to proper water resources, and a percentage of the number of public health centers. The results were for each area which had distinctive models based on significant variables. The distribution mapping of factors affecting the number of malaria cases in every regency/city was commonly divided into three groups based on significant variables on ln and logit models. The mapping did not shape a spreading pattern or each regency/city in that group because the geographical locations were close to each other. GWZIPR method in this research was better than the ZIP Regression method because it produced the least AIC value.

Palu city is one of the cities with unstable changes of natural conditions. The natural conditions such as the frequency of rainy day, temperature and humidity which are always changeable bring bad impacts and will cause of diseases especially dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD). Therefore, it needs an action to recognise whether or not the natural condition factor influences the spread of DBD and determines what factors of the natural condition can influence the spread of DBD. This research applied quantile regression in the case of DBD in Palu city. Quantile regression is an analysis technique regarding to the functional relationship between one dependent variable with one or more independent variables which can provide accurate and stable results even though there will be outliers. Based on the result of the research, it is obtained that the natural condition factor affected the spread of DBD. This is because from 3 natural conditions only 11 significant or influential quantiles on the tested data, the quantiles are 0,30; 0,35; 0,40; 0,45; 0,50; 0,55; 0,60; 0,65; 0,70; 0,75 and 0,80. Meanwhile the most influential factor of natural conditions in spreading DBD is the frequency of rainy day because it has positive which means that 1 progress of percentage will increase the quantity of DBD case.

AbstractLaboratory experiments were performed to investigate the effects of a coflowing current field on the spectral shape of water waves. The results indicate that refraction is the main factor in modulating wave height and overall wave energy. Although the structure of the current field varies considerably, some current-induced patterns in the wave spectrum are observed. In high frequencies, the energy cascading generated by nonlinear interactions is suppressed, and the development of a spectral tail is disturbed, as a consequence of the detuning of the four-wave resonance conditions. Furthermore, the presence of currents slows the downshifting of the spectral peak. The suppression of the high-frequency energy under the influence of currents is more prominent as the spectral steepness increases. The energy suppression is also more accentuated and long-standing along the fetch when the directional spreading of waves is sufficiently broad. This result indicates that the current-induced detuning of resonant conditions is more effective when exact resonances are the primary mechanism of nonlinear interactions than when quasi resonances prevail (directionally narrow cases). Additionally, the directional analysis shows that the highly variable currents broaden the directional spreading of waves. The broadening is suggested to be related to random refraction and scattering of wave rays. The random disturbance of wavenumbers alters the nonlinear interaction conditions and weakens the energy exchanges among wave components, which is expressed in the suppression of the high-frequency energy.

J&T Express is one of the companies engaged in the provision of logistics services in the form of delivery of documents and goods that can compete with senior companies. One marketing strategy undertaken by a J&T Express company is to use a Brand Ambassador as part of advertising, where other similar companies do not use brand ambassadors as a means of promotion. Maintaining the quality of service also becomes one part of the strategy that companies do in the face of competition. The decision of prospective users of logistic services also has another factor as an indicator of the selection of logistics service providers, is price. In this study discussed three dependent variables that affect consumer decisions in using J&T express services consisting of Brand Ambassador, Service Quality, and Price. This research will be carried out by spreading 200 questionnaires to consumers who use the services of J&T Express Branch Margonda Depok. Technique done using technique of Multiple Linear Regression, Analysis using SPSS analysis tool 23. The result of research proves that three variables namely Brand Ambassador, Service Quality, and Price partially influence to consumer decision in using services of J&T Express Branch Margonda Depok. And simultaneously there is a positive influence between independent variables namely Brand Ambassador variable, Service Quality and Price to the dependent variable that is consumer decision. It is seen that the relationship between Brand Ambassador variable, Service quality, and Price on Consumer Decision is quite strong, that is R = 0,634 or equal to 63,4%

For quantitative seismic imaging, iterative least-squares reverse time migration is the recommended approach. The existence of an inverse of the forward modeling operator would considerably reduce the number of required iterations. In the context of the extended model, such a pseudoinverse does exist and is built as a weighted version of the adjoint that accounts for the deconvolution, geometric spreading, and uneven illumination. The application of the pseudoinverse Born modeling is based on constant-density acoustic media, which is a limiting factor for practical applications. To consider density perturbations, we have adopted and investigated two approaches. The first one is a generalization of a recent study proposing to recover acoustic perturbations from the angle-dependent response of the pseudoinverse Born modeling operator. This new version is based on the weighted least-squares objective function. The method not only provides more robust results, but it also offers the flexibility to include constraints in the objective function to reduce the parameters’ crosstalk. We also propose an alternative approach based on Taylor expansion that does not require any Radon transform. Numerical examples based on a simple model and the Marmousi2 models using correct and incorrect background models for the variable density pseudoinverse Born modeling verify the effectiveness of the weighted least-squares method when compared with the other two approaches. The Taylor expansion approach appears to contain too many artifacts for successful applicability.

The parameters investigated include wall-surface temperature ranging from 140 to 400°C, impact Weber and Reynolds numbers of 19–490 and 141–827, respectively, and ambient pressure of 1 and 2 bar. Six possible post-impact regimes were identified, termed as Stick, Splash, Partial-Rebound, Rebound, Breakup-Rebound and Breakup-Stick , and plotted on the We-T map. Additionally, the temporal variation of the apparent dynamic contact angle and spreading factor have been determined as a function of the impact Weber number and surface temperature. Numerical simulations have also been performed using a two-phase flow model with interface capturing, phase-change and variable physical properties. Increased surface temperature resulted to increased maximum spreading diameter and induced quicker and stronger recoiling behaviour, mostly attributed to the change of liquid viscosity.

Abstract Background During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, all European countries were hit, but mortality rates were heterogenous. The aim of the current paper was to identify factors responsible for this heterogeneity. Methods Data concerning 40 countries were gathered, concerning demographics, vulnerability factors and characteristics of the national response. These variables were tested against the rate of deaths per million in each country. The statistical analysis included Person correlation coefficient and Forward Stepwise Linear Regression Analysis (FSLRA). Results The FSLRA results suggested that ‘days since first national death for the implementation of ban of all public events’ was the only variable significantly contributing to the final model, explaining 44% of observed variability. Discussion The current study suggests that the crucial factor for the different death rates because of COVID-19 outbreak was the fast implementation of public events ban. This does not necessarily mean that the other measures were useless, especially since most countries implemented all of them as a ‘package’. However, it does imply that this is a possibility and focused research is needed to clarify it, and is in accord with a model of spreading where only a few superspreaders infect large numbers through prolonged exposure.

W-CDMA is radio access utilized for 3G cell frameworks. A code tree allocation scheme is one of the most explored channelization techniques, used to improve system performance and capacity through adjustable data rates. This work investigates the accuracy of bit error probability for W-CDMA system using code tree orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) codes, compared to pseudo-noise (PN) codes under various noise conditions, such as additive white Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Random Noise (RN). Results are carried out theoretically and by computer simulation. The simulation includes the scenario of simple model representation for W-CDMA system. It was concluded that, the system has better performance using OVSF compared with PN code under different noisy channels.

AbstractLinear instability of two-dimensional wave fields and its concurrent evolution in time is here investigated by means of the Alber equation for narrow-banded random surface waves in deep water subject to inhomogeneous disturbances. The probability of freak waves in the context of these simulations is also discussed. The instability is first studied for the symmetric Lorentz spectrum, and continued for the realistic asymmetric Joint North Sea Wave Project (JONSWAP) spectrum of ocean waves with variable directional spreading and steepness. It is found that instability depends on the directional spreading and parameters $\alpha $ and $\gamma $ of the JONSWAP spectrum, where $\alpha $ and $\gamma $ are the energy scale and the peak enhancement factor, respectively. Both influence the mean steepness of waves with such a spectrum, although in different ways. Specifically, if the instability stops as a result of the directional spreading, increase of the steepness by increasing $\alpha $ or $\gamma $ can reactivate it. A criterion for the instability is suggested as a dimensionless ‘width parameter’, $\Pi $. For the unstable conditions, long-time evolution is simulated by integrating the Alber equation numerically. Recurrent evolution is obtained, which is a stochastic counterpart of the Fermi–Pasta–Ulam recurrence obtained for the cubic Schrödinger equation. This recurrence enables us to study the probability of freak waves, and the results are compared to the values given by the Rayleigh distribution. Moreover, it is found that stability–instability transition, the most unstable mode, recurrence duration and freak wave probability depend solely on the dimensionless ‘width parameter’, $\Pi $.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the process of Cloud Computing adoption within Romanian Small and Medium sized Enterprises in the digital age. Most of the scientific papers related to this topic examine the general outlook of cloud computing implementation in Romania and focus on the use of the afore-mentioned technologies by large scale companies. In order to identify the factors that have an influence over the choice of Romanian SMEs to adopt cloud computing technology, a conceptual model has been set forth. The model’s dependent variable is the choice of the company’s management to implement cloud computing technologies. Five different independent types of variable structures which have an effect on the adoption of cloud computing within SMEs were identified. The five categories of variables are competition & government, ICT providers & firm departments, employee, manager and technological factors. Each of these categories of determinants encompasses at their turn two or more constructs. An online survey tested the model based on the responses of managers and directors from 198 Romanian SMEs from the cities of Bucharest and Cluj. The validity of the model was performed by completing factor analysis and reliability tests of the data; a logistic regression analysis was deployed to test the research hypotheses. The results emphasized that the managers’ know-how on cloud computing and the perceived costs of implementing the technology represent the main components influencing the spreading of cloud computing among Romanian SMEs. This study makes a valuable contribution to the academic environment but to businesses as well. The model can be used to examine the implementation of different innovative applications. Companies which offer cloud computing services could take advantage of the outcomes of this study to expand the degree of cloud service introduction among SMEs.

ABSTRACTDengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is influenced by the environmental factors; climate and population mobility. The DHF incident mapping is conducted to know its distribution and the areas belong to high-risk of DHF. This study aims to know the DHF incident mapping, climate conditions, and population mobility at Putat Jaya in 2015-2017.This study is an observation analysis by using the ecology time series study. There were 110 samples population. This study used a correlation test to know the strength and weakness of climate variable, population mobility number towards the DHF incident. The data used a primary and secondary data. Most cases of DHF incident are found in community areas (RW) where the distance between citizen’s house is narrow. The mapping showed the distribution pattern of DHF in each RW was grouping and spreading. Based on the correlation test, if the rainfall is higher, the DHF incident increases (r = 0,278). If the air temperature is higher, the DHF incident decreases (r = -0.480). If the humidity is higher, the DHF incident increases (r = 0.282). If the duration of solar radiation is higher, the DHF incident decreases (r = -0,150). If the population mobility rate is higher, the DHF incident increases (r = 0,413). There was an environmental factor that support the DHF incident at Putat Jaya. It causes a high-risk exposure to DHF, thus the case was grouping and spreading. In addition, it still need a cooperation between the Health Center and the society to control the DHF incident. Keywords: Mobility Rate, Climate, Larva Density, Mapping

The first commercial service of the 3rd generation (3G) mobile communication system, IMT-2000 (International Mobile Telecommunications), was launched in October 2001 in Japan. This is the first 3G service employing Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) as its air interface between mobile terminals and base stations. This new system, 3G, is expected to accelerate the deployment of future mobile multimedia services, which substantially got started with the "i-mode" service in February 1999 in Japan. Research activities into future mobile communication systems capable of supporting a vastly expanded market for mobile multimedia services are underway worldwide. This paper describes the vision, service trends, and technical challenges of such future systems. Broadband packet wireless access, Variable Spreading Factor Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing (VSF-OFCDM), are promising candidates for realizing future mobile communication systems that provide higher transmission rates and capacity than 3G systems.

Based on the expectancy disconfirmation theory, the study presents a conceptual model exploring consumer perception (perceived service quality, product quality, price, and corporate social responsibility) effect on satisfaction and word of mouth in smallholder horticulture stores. A quantitative analysis using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was carried. This method was used to identify elements influencing satisfaction and to explore the hypothesised relationships between consumer perceptions, satisfaction, and the spreading of positive word of mouth. The findings identify the perceived service quality and product quality as factors that enhance satisfaction. However, the perceived quality of the product is the only factor that aids word of mouth. Correspondingly, perceived product quality shows a favorable relationship with perceived price. On the other hand, perceived price and corporate social responsibility do not strengthen customer satisfaction, with corporate social responsibility not aiding word of mouth. Furthermore, the study tested the strength of cus-tomer satisfaction as a mediating variable between consumer perception and word of mouth, and none of the results proved significant. Similarly, perceived price does not mediate the path between perceived product quality and customer satisfaction. The study is of benefit to scholars, smallholders, and agricultural policymakers, particularly in emerging economies.

Research studies of polymer concretes are frequently carried out under the action of static loads while the material is affected by cyclic loads, most often, low-cycle as a result of its work in the structure. In the case when the level of stresses caused by these loads exceeds a certain limit, irreversible damage accumulation processes begin to occur in the material, which lead to the formation of cracks. In the future, the stress concentration at the edge of the crack contributes to its development. Most often cracks occur at the surface of the part, but sometimes in the thickness of the material. This process weakens the section and after some time, when the crack reaches a critical length, the part or structure is destroyed. As a rule, they are destroyed without visible residual deformations, even in cases when they are made of plastic materials. It was suggested that under the influence of variable stresses material gradually degenerates over time, as if "gets tired" (fatigued). Material fatigue is a process of gradual accumulation of damage under the influence of variable stresses, leading to the formation of cracks and destruction of the material. The peculiarities influencing low-cycle stresses on strength characteristics of polymer concretes based on furfural acetone monomer (FAM) are considered in the article. The regression equation has been obtained as a result of experimenting on a polymeric composite material which allowed constructing the response surface of the low-cycle fatigue of the polymeric composite material based on the resin of furfural acetone monomer. A second-order plan for three factors studying low-cycle fatigue of a tested composite material is also presented in the paper. It has been established that the ratio of the polymer component to the filler and the coarse aggregate spreading factor are the fundamental ideas influencing the cyclic durability of polymer concretes while the thickness of the polymer bonding layer is an insignificant factor.

Digital stores are spreading their tentacles slowly in Vietnam, the most upcoming economy of the ASEAN region, so it is a relevant and contemporary study to know the perceptual thought and socioeconomic profiles of customers. Since there is a lack of independent study in this area, the relationships can be researched and presented. The context of digitization and consumerism is slowly growing in the Vietnamese market. So, this article studies the factors influencing online consumer perception and purchase orientation for digital stores operating in Vietnam through apps and websites. This study is a bi-phase study. In the first phase, constructs, such as digital store images, digital customer loyalty, satisfaction and digital socio-economic profiles of consumers, are examined. In the second part, the empirical analysis is carried by the authors. The study is done by SPSS 22, R studio, and R-cran software packages. Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, very simple structure (VSS) criterion, and parallel analysis are used for the study. Customers have an almost balanced view of shifting to other stores and the image of the digital store, which makes the price have a substantial effect on the digital store image. The education and empathetic nature of employees also affect the way customers complain, and the way delivery is handled, which is Factor 1 for the model. Factor 2 is promotion, pricing, billing ease, or proper billing, which influence the purchasing power of the customer. So, the service provider or digital store has to be cautious of a specific socioeconomic variable. Digital store image is significantly about complaint handling methods, promotional aspects, and image-driven pricing. So the digital store has to be more careful about these factors. So, from the model, it can be concluded that digital consumers’ socioeconomic profiles, the price of the product, and the digital store’s image appear to have a significant relationship. A consumer pattern is having the education and the period of purchase, which explains the relationship better. The level of education and the period of purchase from a digital store also have significant differences among each other. Thus, the digital service provider should consider the level of education and the period of continuous purchase from a digital store as the criteria for evaluating digital customer loyalty. The price of the product seems to be significant as a variable too. The digital store image appears to be substantial for grievances, promotion, and image driven by price. So this considerable relationship has to be taken into consideration by the service provider while focusing on making decisions for customer loyalty.

Abstract Descent and spreading of high salinity water generated by salt rejection during sea ice formation in an Antarctic coastal polynya is studied using a hydrostatic, primitive equation three-dimensional ocean model called the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory Coastal Ocean Modeling System (POLCOMS). The shape of the polynya is assumed to be a rectangle 100 km long and 30 km wide, and the salinity flux into the polynya at its surface is constant. The model has been run at high horizontal spatial resolution (500 m), and numerical simulations reveal a buoyancy-driven coastal current. The coastal current is a robust feature and appears in a range of simulations designed to investigate the influence of a sloping bottom, variable bottom drag, variable vertical turbulent diffusivities, higher salinity flux, and an offshore position of the polynya. It is shown that bottom drag is the main factor determining the current width. This coastal current has not been produced with other numerical models of polynyas, which may be because these models were run at coarser resolutions. The coastal current becomes unstable upstream of its front when the polynya is adjacent to the coast. When the polynya is situated offshore, an unstable current is produced from its outset owing to the capture of cyclonic eddies. The effect of a coastal protrusion and a canyon on the current motion is investigated. In particular, due to the convex shape of the coastal protrusion, the current sheds a dipolar eddy.

Numerical simulations of cavitation in liquid nitrogen and liquid hydrogen are presented; they represent a broader class of problems where the fluid is operating close to its critical temperature and thermal effects of cavitation are important. A compressible, multiphase formulation that accounts for the energy balance and variable thermodynamic properties of the fluid is described. Fundamental changes in the physical characteristics of the cavity when thermal effects become significant are identified; the cavity becomes more porous, the interface less distinct, and it shows increased spreading while getting shorter in length. The heat transfer model postulated in variants of the B-factor theory, where viscous thermal diffusion at the vapor-liquid interface governs the vaporization, is shown to be a poor approximation for cryogenic fluids. In contrast the results presented here indicate that the cavity is sustained by mass directly convecting into it and vaporization occurring as the liquid crosses the cavity interface. Parametric studies for flow over a hydrofoil are presented and compared with experimental data of Hord (1973, “Cavitation in Liquid Cryogens II—Hydrofoil,” NASA CR-2156); free-stream velocity is shown to be an independent parameter that affects the level of thermal depression.

Despite the enforced lockdown regime in late March 2020 in Russia, the phenomenon of the continued virus spreading highlighted the importance of studies investigating the range of biosocial attributes and spectrum of individual motivations underlying the permanent presence of the substantial level of spatial activity. For this matter, we conducted a set of surveys between March and June 2020 (N = 492). We found that an individual’s health attitude is the most consistent factor explaining mobility differences. However, our data suggested that wariness largely determines adequate health attitudes; hence, a higher level of wariness indirectly reduced individual mobility. Comparative analysis revealed the critical biosocial differences between the two sexes, potentially rooted in the human evolutionary past. Females were predisposed to express more wariness in the face of new environmental risks; therefore, they minimize their mobility and outdoor contacts. In contrast to them, the general level of spatial activity reported by males was significantly higher. Wariness in the males’ sample was less associated with the novel virus threat, but to a great extent, it was predicted by the potential economic losses variable. These findings correspond to the evolutionary predictions of sexual specialization and the division of family roles.

The 3GPP standards have presented the LTE-M as one of the main technologies to provide services to Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT applications are usually short-lived applications like smart sensing, surveillance systems for home or businesses, and data uploading applications like metering. In this paper, the proposed architecture of the base station has a LTE interface which assigns resource blocks (RBs) and another 3G interface which is equipped with orthogonal variable spreading factor (OVSF) codes. The IoT devices deployed ubiquitously leads to massive machine type communication, which leads to burst traffic on current cellular services. The IoT devices when assigned large resources will reduce the radio efficiency. The work in this paper assigns OVSF codes available on 3G interface to the IoT devices. The LTE resources are used for IoT devices in case of emergency or when resources of 3G interface are 100% utilized. This will solve the problem of both small data transfer and connectivity requirement of IoT devices. The IoT applications are event-driven and time-bound also, and the resources are also reserved for these applications in the proposed work. The simulations and results show that proposed work increases both network efficiency and capacity.
