Thermally oxidized sunflower oil (31 hours at 98°C with air insufflation, contains 370 mmol/kg hydroperoxides, and is composed of 41 % oxidized esters ans 55 % polymerized ones. It is mixed with a fat free diet at a rate of 4 % alone or in equivalent weight with fresh oil and given to rats during four weeks. The disturbances we observed in rats remain relatively low when compared to the high degree of oxidative degradation in oil ; Oxidized oil induces a one fourth reduction of weight growth, which is superior to the fat free diet induced one. Whole lipids, cholesterol and free fatty acids (FA) in faeces are increases during the first week, then they are reduced until a new equilibrium is reached, which remains higher than the control group. Polar compounds are increased in proportions with the ingested oil quantity, which suggests an oxidized and fat free diet groups show a liver steatosis and linolenic acid is reduced to one half in relation with the increase of momo insaturated FA and eicosatrienoic aci, which reaches 3 % and 14 % in these group's phospholipids with 29 % in the liver compared to 26 % and 12 % for control and fat free groups, consequence of a possible arachidonic acid preferential synthesis or of an eicosanoids biosynthesis clamping, which could have a pathological incidence

This work is devoted to the reactivity of a new acetylenic compound bearing two acetals moieties, prepared in the group for the synthesis of modified polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAS). We choose the carbometallation reaction of triple bonds for desymetrisation of our compound. In the first part we describe the carbotitanation involving the titanium tetraisopropoxyde wich led to various 1,3-dienes and allylic alcohols. These last, via an intramolecular transacetalisation reaction, furnished trisubstituted tetrahydrofurans in good yields. Aromatisation gave a new pathway to 2,3-disubstituted furans. In a second part we report our results on the Pauson-Khand reaction of our symetric compound. In the last part we develop the first preparation, direct and efficient, of homopropargylic aldehydes from the commercially available alcohols by the Dess-Martin periodinane. These very unstable aldehydes were converted into the acetals and underwent the Wittig reaction leading to the 1,4-enynes wich could be used in total synthesis of labelled PUFAS

When the heart is submitted to an increase in workload, it adapts its mass resulting in cardiac hypertrophy (CH) which can progress towards heart failure (HF), characterized by important energetic disorders. Cardiac phenotype was assessed in different models of CH, with a physiological (gestation, training) or a pathological (hypertension) origin and revealed a harmonious increase in mitochondrial mass and function, in line with maintained cardiac function. Therefore energy metabolism disturbances appear to be a marker of HF and could be considered as a relevant therapeutic target in HF. Eight weeks treatment with resveratrol, a polyphenol with known metabolic effects, of Dahl salt-sensitive rats, an experimental model of cardiovascular dysfunction, induced multiple beneficial effects on survival, endothelial and cardiac function, and cardiac energy metabolism. Thus resveratrol could be an interesting candidate for an adjuvant metabolic therapy in HF
