Анотація:
In order to improve the capacity of urban roads and alleviate the intersections’ congestion, this paper analyses the characteristics of mixed traffic flow in China, considers non- motor vehicles’ impact to the intersections, uses definite number of conversion to convert non-motor vehicles to motor vehicles, and then recomposes the F-B signal timing formula based on the traditional F-B signal timing method. By an example and Vissim simulation, a reasonable conversion factor is computed, The recomposed F-B signal time formula can reduce the delay and improve the efficience of the intersections, providing a new idea to signal timing under the mixed traffic flow.

Анотація:
Wavelet envelope demodulation method can distinguish the fault information from complex bearing vibration signal. However, traditional signal analysis method, which is solely based on a single source data, is imperfect. In this paper, an approach to wavelet packet and envelope analysis based on full vector spectrum technology was proposed. Firstly, two different data from the same source were respectively decomposed and recomposed by wavelet packet transform. Then, in order to improve the accuracy of detecting fault, the recomposed signals were merged by using the full vector spectrum method. Compared to the traditional signal analysis method, the advantage of the new method is presented by showing their application to bearings. Finally, results from the bearing vibration signal analysis show that the new approach is more effective because of its inheritance and all-sided feature.

Анотація:
In this paper, a minimal common-mode voltage peak value rule is defined due to the problem of common-mode voltage that current source converters (CSCs) usually exist. Base on this rule, two methods of hybrid sequence modulation (HM2/HM3) are proposed which can recompose the arrangement of traditional zero vectors to decrease common-mode voltage and reduce harmonics. The effectiveness of the optimal method (HM3) for CSCs is verified in theoretical research and simulation experiment.

Human history is marked by a dramatic dialectic of “destruction” and “reconstruction”, the record of which has itself often been lost. Yet memories of tragic destructions and often heroic reconstructions remain ingrained in the history, archaeology, and myths of all civilizations. Whereas the predominant contemporary ideology of architecture seems to prefer “deconstruction” and the consecration of an imagery of fragmentation and desolation, the Reconstruction of Aleppo project proposes a traditional strategy of material and moral reconstruction. Such reconstruction seeks not only to repair and recompose the form and meaning of homes and places but also to allow for reconciliation and healing, as well as confidence and identity.

The idea of a plurality of worlds, consolidated in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, is one of the most inspiring and exciting chapters in the history of astronomy. Nevertheless, one crucial aspect has yet to be written. In this paper I propose to recompose the fascinating visual mosaic around the subject, in order to establish the basis for a largely forgotten iconography. It represents a key period in the evolution of the notions around the large-scale structure of the universe, one of the milestones in Early Modern cosmology. This tradition continued until the nineteenth century, when astronomers such as William Herschel still considered the existence of multiple similar inhabited systems. Today, when extrasolar planets and the cosmic web are in the forefront of the astrophysical vocabulary and its images are so popular, reflecting on the visual genealogy of this field acquires special relevance. This paper invites the reader to look at the sky through a telescope provided with art historical lenses.

Chinese men of letters pursued the idea of a poetic life in feudal times, and this ideal was often embodied in traditional gardening and landscape paintings. However, it has been argued that the pursuit of this traditional notion of poetic life has been lost with the arrival of modernity. In this view, Chinese cities are seen as losing their identities and becoming Westernised. Wang Shu, the Pritzker Prize-winning Chinese architect, has taken great efforts to rebuild an understanding of Chinese cultural identity: by looking back to the idea of poetic life reflected in traditional gardens and landscape paintings, and attempting to recompose a sense of poetry for contemporary architecture. This article aims to examine Wang’s approaches to this sense of poetry in one of his projects, the design of Xiangshan campus while, at the same time, seeking to offer a Chinese reflection on the architecture of poetry.However, Wang’s approach to using visual and metaphoric techniques in reviving the city’s poetic system can be questioned. His tactics, considered here in relation to the Xiangshan campus, arguably do not fully understand Chinese aesthetics, and do not pose fully a contemporary definition of the ‘sense of poetry’ in relation to the traditional Chinese mind. A holistic interpretation of architectural poetry should concern life, both as living and pleasure, material and spirit, rather than dealing primarily in visual composition. Nevertheless, his efforts in exploring Chinese-ness and his influence on Chinese architects remain highly significant.

This article focuses on Marvin Gaye's involvement with music related to the “middle of the road” (MOR) market within the American music business between 1961 and 1979. From 1961 to 1966, in addition to his work as a teen idol, Gaye performed regularly in supper clubs, released four albums of standards material, and recorded dozens of other related songs that were eventually shelved. In a fascinating turn, he worked extensively on a series of unreleased tracks between 1967 and 1979, using experimental techniques to revise, reinterpret, and recompose melodies over already completed backing music. Gaye's interest in ballads connects to a different tradition of American music from his soul hits, drawing on the legacy of 1920s crooning, mainstream swing vocalists like Frank Sinatra, and African American forebears such as Nat “King” Cole and Sam Cooke. This article makes a number of new claims about Gaye's career trajectory: that his method of composing with his voice in the studio—building up complex textures from multiple takes and composing lyrics and melody directly to tape—began as early as 1967, well before his better-known experiments for What's Going On in 1970; that the popular, sexuality-charged music of his final decade was an extension of his work with romantic balladry in the 1960s; and that his interest in standards continued much farther into his career than is suggested by his official discography.

The article illustrates the interest in transhumance routes, the ancient paths connecting high and lowland pastures in Southern Italy and other Mediterranean regions, as elements of particular importance for sustainable geotourism management. As a contribution to the needs of requalification of the drove roads, we propose a method of analysis for their preservation and their reuse for geotourism purposes, showing the steps and instruments necessary to organize, enhance and communicate transhumance routes as integrated cultural landscapes. Results are presented as applied to a specific case study (Molise, IT) of a geoconservation management proposal for the assessment of the state of conservation of the drove roads, of their cultural heritage and of their potential reuse for geotourism. This methodological proposal uses geographical information systems, historical sources, cartography and remote sensing techniques and includes 3D virtual reconstructions of the transhumance landscape. The article is meant to contribute to a non-stereotyped image of transhumance geoheritage, reflecting on communication and learning strategies supported by geo-historical analyses, in order to promote a greater awareness of landscapes genesis and evolution for visitors and local communities. It is argued that future challenges of geotourism relate to the ability to recompose nature and culture to an interpretive unity, both from a theoretical and operative point of view, and that the goal is to reach an integrated tourist offer focused on the relationship between man and environment with the signs of territorialisation processes expressed through economic vocations, traditional production chains, cultural values and territorial identity. To this purpose, the valorisation of the transhumance routes—for their historical-economic, ecological, landscape, patrimonial and identity meanings—seems to respond perfectly.

Cette recherche en géographie sociale et culturelle porte sur Nguon, grand festival et rassemblement culturel multiséculaire des Bamoun au Cameroun. Nguon, avec des publics différenciés et dans des temporalités complémentaires mais distinctes, est à la fois un festival et une ritualisation de la coutume et du sacré du royaume bamoun maintenu durant l'époque coloniale puis depuis l'avènement de la république du Cameroun.L'originalité de son processus de patrimonialisation s'inscrit dans la vague contemporaine des traditions recomposées. Il constitue une arène d'analyse pour révéler des questionnements de gouvernance autour de l'attractivité touristique du territoire et du développement local grâce à son riche patrimoine, mais plus encore, pour ses retombées concernant la permanence de la cohésion communautaire, politique et culturelle face au contexte mondialisé plein d'incertitudes. Le potentiel d'attractivité touristique naturel et patrimonial de ce territoire, le Noun, peut-il être exploité sans que la structure sociétale bamoun n'en soit trop déséquilibrée ? Finalement, comment la patrimonialisation mise en perspective avec les enjeux touristiques, politiques et économiques interfèrent avec l'identité culturelle bamoun, et comment en retour la spécificité bamoun portée par le rituel et la coutume multiséculaire font de Nguon un festival singulier dans la vague des patrimonialisations actuelles ?
This research in social and cultural geography focuses on Nguon, a major festival and centuries-old cultural gathering of the Bamoun people in Cameroon. Nguon, with differentiated audiences and in complementary but distinct temporalities, is both a festival and a ritualization of the custom and sacredness of the bamoun kingdom maintained during the colonial era and since the advent of the Republic of Cameroon.The originality of its heritage process is part of the contemporary series of rebuilt traditions. It is an arena for analysis to reveal questions of governance around the attractiveness of the territory for tourism and local development thanks to its rich heritage, but even more so, for its impact on the permanence of community, political and cultural cohesion in a globalized context full of uncertainties. Can the potential for natural and heritage tourism attractiveness of this territory, the Noun, be exploited without causing the bamoun societal structure to be too unbalanced? Finally, how does the patrimonialization put in perspective with the touristic, political and economic stakes interfere with the bamoun cultural identity, and how in return does the bamoun specificity carried by the ritual and the multisecular custom make Nguon a singular festival in the wave of the current patrimonializations?

Sayat Nova (1712?-1795?), the ‘singer’ par excellence of the Transcaucasian peoples and ashuq (lover), follows the hard path of Love of the ashuq/lovers towards the Beloved (or towards the Lord, God, in a sufi, mystical approach). Being based in Tbilisi/Tiflis, siege of the court of the Georgian rulers, he composes in three languages (Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian). However, in his trilingual collections (defter) of songs, we can hear and feel only one discourse, or mantıq, that is a logic used and applied by the ashuq/gusan. The evidence of a continuity, in a unique environment/muhit, between Sayat Nova, the medieval Armenian tradition, the Muslim sufi poets and the Christian Masters is clear enough. Sayat Nova organises and recomposes a common way of expression between traditions that are not very different from each other.

E-mail: jperezi@urb.pv.es Keywords: Hybrid Block, Urban Form, Mixed Use Buildings, Open Planning Conference topics and scale: Urban form and social use of space In this paper we analyze the hybrid block as an urban form of synthesis, in which the open order of modern urbanism is superimposed on the closed order of traditional urbanism. In this model, proposed for the first time by Hilberseimer in his 1927 Vertical City, housing and work are not separated but overlapping on mixed-use buildings, where the dwellings are located in slabs or towers shaped as isolated volumes, whose design responds to its own internal logic, based on functional criteria (rational distribution of rooms, orientation, ventilation, sunshine, views...). Those volumes emerge from a compact built-up podium for commercial or office uses, aligned with the perimeter streets and responding to the external logic of the urban fabric. This configures an urban form in which both hybridization of architectural forms and hybridization of uses are obtained, recovering the multifunctional character of the traditional urban block, which had disappeared in functionalist urbanism. The paper examines the reasons that can explain the exclusion of this urban form from the repertoire of elements of modern urbanism, and analyzes the validity of the hybrid block, as an strategy to recompose or reinterpret the urban block, assuming high density and collective housing as a basic typology for the construction of the city.
