The article is devoted to the second stage of architectural and design activity of Hector (Hector) Guimar (1867–1942), during which his unique style was finally formed. During the period from 1900 to 1912, following the traditions of «total design», the architect was engaged not only in the design of residential and public buildings, but also in the decorative design of their facades and interiors, furniture, tableware, elements of technical equipment. He compiled a catalog of metal decorative elements for their serial production, published a set of advertising cards of his best works. The most well-known architectural designs are made in Guimard’s style, such as the house Jassede at Versailles (1903), Hotel Deron-Levent (1907), Castel d’Orgeval (1904–1905), Villa Surprise (1903-1907), Hôtel Guimard (1909–1912), Hôtel Mez-zara (1910–1911).

W swoich utworach dramatycznych ten znany twórca krakowski wykorzystywał motywy antyczne, historyczne, religijne, nawiązywał do tradycji romantycznej oraz do teorii teatru R. Wagnera i M. Maeterlincka.

Annotation:
Opsiphanes Doubleday, [1849] (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae: Satyrinae: Brassolini) is an exclusively Neotropical genus, occurring from Argentina to Mexico. Until the present study, Opsiphanes was considered to contain 14 species, 60 subspecies, and 38 synonyms. The considerable phenotypic variation of species and subspecies of the genus has affected the taxonomy of the group by causing the proliferation of several names that have been proposed to represent their diversity, taxa that have often not been adequately described and/or delimited. The present study analyzed information on the immature stages and morphology, with molecular data and distribution data, in order to provide revised taxonomic hypotheses for Opsiphanes species and subspecies. These analyses of approximately 5,500 specimens and all species known for the genus made it possible to define two groups: “cassiae” and “quiteria”. The “quiteria” group was subdivided into seven subgroups: “boisduvallii”, “camena”, “zelotes”, “sallei”, “quiteria”, “fabricii”, and “invirae”. The statuses of three species and two subespecies are reinstated: Opsiphanes badius Stichel, 1902 stat. rest., Opsiphanes quirinus Godman & Salvin, 1881 stat. rest., Opsiphanes merianae Stichel, 1902 stat. rest., Opsiphanes bogotanus castaneus Stichel, 1904 stat. rest. and Opsiphanes badius cauca Röber, 1906 stat. rest. Six subspecies are here treated as species: Opsiphanes mexicana Bristow, 1991 stat. nov., Opsiphanes zelus Stichel, 1908 stat. nov., Opsiphanes farrago Stichel, 1904 stat. nov., Opsiphanes barkeri Bristow, 1991 stat. nov., Opsiphanes caliensis Bristow, 1991 stat. nov., and Opsiphanes cuspidatus Stichel, 1904 stat. nov. One subjective synonym is treated as a valid subspecies: Opsiphanes invirae pernambucoensis Bristow, 1991 stat. rev. One species is treated as a subspecies: Opsiphanes cassiae tamarindi C. Felder & R. Felder, 1861 stat. nov. Eight new statuses are proposed: Opsiphanes cassiae incolumis Stichel, 1904 stat. nov., Opsiphanes cassiae tamarindi C. Felder & R. Felder, 1861 stat. nov., Opsiphanes badius angostura Bristow, 1979 stat. nov., Opsiphanes fabricii camposi Bristow, 1991 stat. nov., Opsiphanes fabricii numatius Fruhstorfer, 1912 stat. nov., Opsiphanes merianae notanda Stichel, 1904 stat. nov., Opsiphanes periphetes Fruhstorfer, 1912 stat. nov., and Opsiphanes cuspidatus relucens Fruhstorfer, 1907 stat. nov. Seven subjective synonyms are reinstated: Opsiphanes crameri C. Felder & R. Felder, 1862 syn. rest. of Opsiphanes cassiae cassiae (Linnaeus, 1758); Opsiphanes tamarindi latifascia Rothschild, 1916 syn. rest. of Opsiphanes cassiae incolumis Stichel, 1904 stat. nov.; Opsiphanes erebus Röber, 1927 syn. rest. of Opsiphanes quiteria quirinalis Staudinger, 1887; Opsiphanes cassina aequatorialis Stichel, 1902 syn. rest., Opsiphanes invirae pseudophilon Fruhstorfer, 1907 syn. rest., Opsiphanes invirae remoliatus Fruhstorfer, 1907 syn. rest., and Opsiphanes invirae agasthenes Fruhstorfer, 1907 syn. rest. of Opsiphanes invirae invirae (Hübner, [1808]).

The semaines sociales de France are created in 1904. They are organized by social Catholics. Just before the disestablishment of the Church in France they want to prove that Church and Catholics know answers to social crisis, poverty of low class and workers. They suggest a catholic way of life in front of liberalism and socialism. The semaines sociales de France are a sort of summer scholl where Catholics study bills in order to protect and to help family, youth education and school, but also state organisation. Between 1906 an 1914 many other countries will organize also such a summer school

Baal, Gérard. „Le parti radical de 1901 à 1904“. Paris 1, 1991. http://www.theses.fr/1991PA010594.

Annotation:
The "parti radical", at the turn of the century, was not, as is sometimes thought, only a party of full-time organisezs and professional politicians. There was such a thing as grass-roots radicalism. But a major contrast could still be seen between the strength of local caucuses and the weaknesses of a national organization that was never able to control the whole of the activists and parliamentarians claiming to be radicals. Individualist as they were, the radicals remained wary of a party embodied at the time in the socialist party. And yet the set-backs they would experience in the aftermath of the combes era were to force them as well to address the questions of organization and discipline. From the ideological point of view, the star of radicalism looked about to set, around 1890, when the growth of socialism appeared to challenge its claims to exclusive intransigence. Radicalism preserved its identity, though, by championing the "old republican spirit" against the "ralliement" and the "esprit nouveau". During the combes years, it lavished promises of reforms : the anti-clerical struggle was to pave the way for the "social and democratic republic"

Navarra, Ordoño Andreu. „José María Salaverría: escritor y periodista (1904 – 1940)“. Doctoral thesis, Universitat de Barcelona, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/32011.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:
José María Salaverría and Ipenza was a known polygraph in the generation of the 98 who was soon eclipsed by the great intellectual figures of his class: Unamuno, Azorin, Baroja, and Maeztu. His work is composed of about sixty books and a newspaper production volume which is comparable in quantity (but not in quality) to the one by his colleagues. The thesis consists of two parts. The first is an analysis of all the books published by the author sorted by thematic cycles. The second part is an appendix containing 83 articles never collected in book and have been exhumed from the three newspapers that contain large collections of texts author: ABC, La Vanguardia and El gráfico.

Annotation:
This thesis examines the history and development of three Irish periodicals, published between 1904-1914, with emphasis placed upon the literary magazine as a distinct genre and the impact of this genre on the literary and cultural landscape of Ireland at a crucial time in its nascent development. My research considers the manner in which each magazine was established and run, with an emphasis on varying editorial personalities and their impact upon each periodical. Each chapter is dedicated to an individual magazine and is structured in chronological order, with the first focused upon Dana, the second dedicated to Uladh (both published from 1904-1905) and the final chapter focused upon The Irish Review (1911-1914). The aim is to provide an assessment of those journals, acknowledging how key figures of the period made use of their pages to promote their own views and the movements that they supported. This thesis will emphasise the significance of the literary magazine as a historical resource that reveals much about the period in which it was published. Until now the history of these literary periodicals has remained largely untold, as have the events surrounding the lives of their editors and contributors during their publication years. My primary purpose is to tell these stories in the detail they deserve.

The rare book section appeared in the library named after M.V. Lomonosov 8 years ago. This fund is small - only a couple of hundred books. However, its value is measured not by size, but by uniqueness. The basis of the fund is made up of editions of the XIX–XX centuries. In terms of its content, the fund is universal. Most of it is fiction. In addition, there is popular science literature of past centuries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, newspapers. The collection of rare books includes: the collection “Poems and Prose Articles” by Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov, published in 1886 and donated in 1984 by the poet Ion Odobescu; A. Glazunov, 1895 edition; I. Turgenev –1898; M. Gorky – 1901; Emilian Bukov – 1938; V. Zhukovsky – 1902; N. Leskov – 1903; P. Tchaikovsky – 1908; I. Brahms – 1873; M. Yu. Lermonotov – 1940; H. Wells – 1909 “Otechestvennye zapiski” – 1840; “Bulletin of Europe” – 1879; “Course of Geography of NonEuropean Countries” – 1905; “Niva” – 1899; K. Marx’s “Capital” – published in 1950 and much more. Our books are not museum pieces. They form part of the actively used collection of the library. Any interested reader can get acquainted with the collection of rare books on the website of the library M. V. Lomonosov in the “Rare Books” section.

Annotation:
For many years, the Russian-Japanese war was considered ingloriously lost in Russian historiography. The world and domestic liberal press, and then the Soviet historical science, tried with all their might to create the impression of a complete defeat of Russia. However, if we conduct a deeper analysis of military events, it becomes obvious that only a year after the start of the war, Japan’s offensive pressure dried up and its emerging economic and military problems came to the fore. Japan did not expect that the enemy would be able to establish an effective and uninterrupted supply of troops: in a short time, instead of a poorly equipped Siberian road, a well-established highway was developed and operated, connecting the center of Russia with the army fighting in the east of the country by a continuous rail route. The Baikal ferry in 1904–1905, being the only link of the Trans-Siberian Railway, determined the capacity of the entire highway. This article highlights some aspects and results of its work during this period.

Annotation:

Annotation:
Utah is the second largest vanadium producing state and the third largest uranium producing state in the United States. Carnotite, a primary ore mineral for both vanadium and uranium, was first discovered and used by Native Americans as a source of pigment in the Colorado Plateau hysiographic province of eastern Utah. Radioactive deposits have been ommercially mined in Utah since about 1900, starting with radium, followed by vanadium, and thenuranium. In 1952, the discovery of the Mi Vida mine in Utah’s Lisbon Valley mining district in San Juan County kicked off a uranium exploration rush across the Colorado Plateau. As a result, the United States dominated the global uranium market from the early 1950s to late 1970s. In the modern mining era, Utah is an important contributor to the domestic uranium and vanadium markets with the only operating conventional uranium-vanadium mill in the country, multiple uranium-vanadium mines on standby, and active uranium-vanadium exploration. Overall, Utah has produced an estimated 122 million lbs U3O8 and 136 million lbs V2O5 since 1904. Most of this production has been from the sandstone-hosted deposits of the Paradox Basin, with minor production from volcanogenic deposits and as byproducts from other operations across the state
