The effect of a single overload on SCC growth behavior was addressed in this study by SCC testing using a CDCB specimen and an ACPD technique under simulated BWR water. The ratio of the stress intensity factors KOL/KSCC test, i.e. that of the single overload, KOL, divided by that of the SCC testing, KSCC_test, is defined as a single overload level in this study. With this in mind, changes in ACPDs, i.e. those regarded as the SCC growth behaviors, were measured after single overload levels of 1.05, 1.10, 1.20 and 1.50 respectively were applied. Retardations of SCC growth behavior were observed

The Alternating Current Potential Drop (ACPD) strain sensor has been developed as a tool to monitor the condition of a material. It is comprised of a square array of sensors that measures the resistance in two orthogonal directions, using the changes in the material’s resistance over time as a measure of its deformation and evolution of damage within it due to creep. The method expresses the change in resistance as the ratio of axial to lateral resistance, suppressing temperature-related effects on material resistivity, which are mostly isotropic. Previous experiments have seen this method app

The presence of substituents at 4-position in trans-cinnamic acid derivatives. The presence of substituents at 4-position in trans-cinnamic acid altered the a-glucosidase inhibitory activity. The increasing prevalence of bio-based and biodegradable plastics as an alternative to traditional plastics derived from crude oil is a noteworthy trend. Polybutylene succinate (PBS), a plastic produced from succinic acid, is among the promising materials for the future. However, the production of bio-based succinic acid through biotechnical processes in controlled environments presents challenges. This process leads to increased costs and is currently not economically competitive compared to crude oil-based succinic acid production. In addition to succinic acid, levulinic acid is another mono
