While large numbers of Montgomery County students attend diverse schools, segregation is a growing problem in the higher-poverty schools, and Black and Latinx students attending these schools have become more seg

Baltimore had been an important official in the reign of Charles's father, James I, but he had been forced to leave most of his political offices in 1625. For his services, Charles granted Baltimore lands to the north of the Potomac River on the Atlantic coast of the Americas. After the English Civil War broke out in 1642, an English trader, Richard Ingle, brought Parliament’s ideology to Maryland in 1644. Local rebels joined him to cast out the Catholic lords and would govern themselves until 1647. This was known as Ingle’s Rebellion, or the Plundering Time.
