AbstractThe group of writings entitled De motu (or De motu antiquiora) constitutes Galileo's earliest writings on dynamics. These manuscripts are usually dated to the years 1589 to 1592, when Galileo taught mathematics at the University of Pisa. Among their characteristics, the application of dynamic principles of Archimedean hydrostatics to the problem of motion stands out, as does their anti-Aristotelian tone. This paper tries to embed these writings within the cultural context in which they were created by documenting their link (which is most evident in various polemically charged references) to the debate over the motion of the elements between Girolamo Borro and Francesco Buonamici, the two most celebrated Pisan Aristotelians of the late sixteenth century.

This study presents a comparative reading of Christine de Pizan’sThe Book of the City of Ladies and MurasakiShikibu’s The Tale of Genji. Having lived and written in the Middle Ages, both Christine de Pizan and MurasakiShikibu share the privilege of being among the first women writers as well as the first feminists. As their life stories picture them as strong, independent women unusual at that time, their works elaborate on the plight of their sex in a patriarchal and oppressive society, and propose ways to transcend these borders. What is striking in such a reading is that it makes the modern reader see that oppression on women has been existent since at least the Medieval Era, and it has been a case throughout the world. Since neither Pizan nor Shikibuknew the culture and works of the other, their attracting attention to the same issues suggests an interesting reading.

Oubliées à tort pendant plusieurs siècles, les femmes de lettres, dont Christine de Pisan, Louise Labé, Madelaine et Catherine des Roches, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore et beaucoup d’autres, prêtaient à maintes reprises leur plume prolixe au service des épanchements du cœur. La voix féminine de la poésie courtoise, Christine de Pisan, s’est inscrite dans l’histoire comme la première Française à avoir jamais vécu de ses écrits. D’origine vénitienne, elle s’est permis, à la fin du XIVe, début du XVe siècle, de célébrer le mariage et chanter, en son propre nom, l’amour pour son mari et le délice de la nuit de noces afin de montrer du doigt le concept erroné de l’amour courtois, vanté par les troubadours. Néanmoins, ce n’est qu’à la Renaissance que la scène littéraire assiste à « l’avènement » de la figure de la femme écrivaine/poétesse, incarnée par-dessus tout dans le personnage de Louise Labé, femme dotée de la liberté d’esprit, qui assumait pleinement sa féminité dans ses vers. À l’aube du XIXe siècle, le cercle s’agrandit avec Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, connue de nos jours comme prédécesseure de la poésie romantique.

Linguistic provides a set of devices to express referential and affective functions. Intensifier as a linguistic device is generally found in all languages and it has various linguistic forms. In Banyumas dialect, a substandard of Javanese language, intensifier is basically used to intensify something. Banyumas dialect or Banyumasan is primarily spoken along Serayu River. Banyumas dialect is different from Javanese language in respect of phonological features and lexical items. Speakers express their intensity by using several linguistic devices including lexical items and reduplication. General lexical items consist of bangѐt and pisan. bangѐt and pisan experience degree of modification as they are attached to non-binary properties predicate. Specific lexical items include rea, regeng, leder, njilep, cirut, lecit, kecu, kethuwek. Reduplication is realized into full reduplication and partial reduplication. Partial reduplication employs reduplication with vowel change and reduplication of the final syllable of the stem. Grammaticalization happens to Partial reduplication with vowel change. Data is gathered from 250 recorded conversations between male and female speakers containing intensifiers. As intensifier is among the most rapid of linguistic element, this article reveals the realization of intensifiers in Banyumas dialect.

If for no other reason the fact that all published editions of the Pisan Cantos have been unable to execute Ezra Pound’s instructions for the insertion of Greek and have omitted over fifty sets of Chinese characters that he directed his publishers to include would be sufficient cause to re-edit the poem. But the case for a new edition is stronger than that. Owing to the extraordinary conditions of its composition and transmission, approximately five hundred corruptions of Pound’s typescript text survived into the poem’s first English and American publications. Pound’s typescript of the Pisan Cantos was prepared during his incarceration in the US Army Disciplinary Training Center (DTC) an American military prison camp near Pisa during the summer and autumn of 1945, and was the product of the harsh conditions of his imprisonment (his wavering memory following a mental breakdown, his lack of books, and the many errors he inevitably produced typing at odd hours on unfamiliar typewriters). Just as seriously, many of Pound’s emended carbons never reached his editors at New Directions and he was forced during his continued incarceration in the U.S. to delegate responsibility for many kinds of correction he would normally have made himself. He was also denied access to his originals at every stage proofing. Although there can never be a definitively “corrected edition” of the Pisan Cantos because Pound made inconsistent emendations on different typescript leaves and kept his publishers in the dark about which instances of idiosyncratic spelling, quotation, and punctuation he wished them to correct, this does not mean that an edition cannot be established that eliminates the corruptions that later crept into the text and that carries out Pound’s implicit and explicit expectations for producing the poem, many of which his first editors never fully understood. A critical edition based on the typescripts Pound produced at Pisa and including a complete historical apparatus is currently in preparation with Oxford University Press and will not only achieve these aims but also make it possible to understand the deficiencies of the poem’s currently circulating texts.

U Kaptolskome arhivu Splitsko-makarske nadbiskupije pod kataloškim brojem 463 nalazi se kodeks od pergamene pisan goticom. Popis arhivskoga gradiva bilješkom o signaturi dokazuje da je rukopis ranije bio poznat i, tom logikom, trebao je biti u slijedu knjiga i fascikli na određenomu mjestu, ali ga nije bilo. Kako to pri otkrićima obično biva, sasvim slučajno je ponovno pronađen koncem 2017. godine. Ispočetka se držalo da se radi o potpuno nepoznatomu srednjovjekovnome kodeksu. U veljači 2018. utvrdilo se da je pronađeni rukopis upravo onaj koji je otprije bio arhiviran u Katalogu pod brojem 463. Do otkrića je došlo tako da su - zajedno s rukopisom koji sadrži životopis sv. Klementa pape, iz 16. stoljeća - uočeni neki stariji dijelovi. Ti dijelovi po stilu pisma i podlozi na kojoj je pisano nisu mogli pripadati u izvorni rukopis o životopisu sv. Klementa nego su puno stariji. Primarnom analizom utvrdilo se da je riječ o srednjovjekovnomu liturgijskome kodeksu. Kodeks je restauriran i čeka uvezivanje u tvrde korice. Nakon restauratorskih zahvata napravili smo liturgijsku i kodikološku analizu koja je pomogla ispravnom uređenju slijeda folija u kodeksu. Rezultate potonjih analiza donosimo kao doprinose u nastavku.

L’importance de ces gloses réside principalement dans le fait qu’elles sont l’œuvre d’un auteur connu, alors que de nombreux commentaires et gloses sont anonymes. Abstract The Carmen in victoriam Pisanorum, a verse account of a successful Pisan and Genoese attack of 1087 on the Zīrid King Tamīm ibn al-Muʿizz ibn Bādīs of al-Mahdiyya and Zawīla, should be dated to 1087–95, making it a source of huge importance both for the maritime cities’ wars against the ‘Saracens’, and for the pre-First Crusade development of ideas of holy war. This study argues that the expedition was to a large degree motivated by local, economically charged adventurism in Pisa, but that it found itself under the leadership and intellectual domination of a close-knit, pro-Gregorian party. This party, based around Matilda of Canossa, Pope Victor III, Bishop Benedict of Modena and, most probably, the Pisan author of the Carmen himself, ensured that the attack was publicised as a great success for the Gregorian papacy, at this time in competition with Antipope Clement III. The attack also set a seal upon Pisa’s return from a pro-imperial to a pro-papal position. In publicising the victory, the poet expounded a highly developed discourse of holy war that, while representing his own party’s particular interests, is indicative of wider trends in the Mediterranean that developed over the course of the second half of the eleventh century, rather than appearing suddenly after 1095.

U ovom radu je modelovan podsistem skrivene (keš, eng. cache) memorije za RISC-V procesor. Model je pisan u VHDL jeziku te je ciljan za soft-core primenu na FPGA uređajima. Model se sastoji iz dva nivoa keš hijerarhije: prvi nivo je direktno preslikan i razdeljen, dok je drugi N-smerno set asocijativan i unificiran. Model je parametrizovan, te korisnik ima mogućnost da bira kapacitet memorija kao i asocijativnost. Sistem je zajedno sa jednostavnim RISC-V procesorom prvo simuliran pomoću Vivado alata a zatim upakovan u IP jezgro, implementiran i testiran na Zybo razvojnoj ploči.

Cilj. Pisana je baština jedna od najzastupljenijih pojavnosti kulturne baštine u arhivima, knjižnicama i muzejima te se u njenim vrijednostima, posebice informacijskoj, krije potencijal za organizaciju aktivnosti kojima se podiže razina osviještenosti javnosti i razumijevanja pisane baštine. Organizacija takvih aktivnosti treba proizlaziti iz nepristrane analize pisane baštine čiji je rezultat objektivan opis sadržaja i vrijednosti pisane baštine na kojemu se trebaju temeljiti aktivnosti interpretacije pisane baštine namijenjene široj javnosti ili pak ciljanoj korisničkoj skupini. Cilj rada je prepoznati područja znanja koja informacijski stručnjaci trebaju posjedovati kako bi bili u mogućnosti interpretirati pisanu baštinu. Metodologija. Pretpostavka je da informacijski stručnjaci koji su u dodiru s pisanom baštinom, trebaju posjedovati znanja s područja izgradnje i organizacije zbirki, upravljanja zaštitom kulturne baštine, organizacijom usluga za korisnike, istraživačkog rada i komunikacije kako bi bili osposobljeni za stvaranje objektivnog korpusa znanja o pisanoj baštini. Pregledom literature i razmatranjem navedenih područja, stručnog osoblja arhiva, knjižnica i muzeja te ICOMOS-ovih načela interpretacije i prezentacije baštine izdvojena su i analizirana zajednička područja znanja primjenjiva i na interpretaciju pisane baštine. Rezultati. Informacijski stručnjaci posjeduju preduvjete za provođenje aktivnosti interpretacije pisane baštine, no te je preduvjete potrebno nadograditi kako bi aktivnosti bile smislene i učinkovite. Temeljna je znanja potrebno proširiti poznavanjem pojma interpretacije pisane baštine i svime što obuhvaća počevši od pojma pisane baštine sve do istraživačkog rada i komunikacije. Praktična primjena. Donesena razmatranja i zaključci važni su za prepoznavanje područja znanja i vještina potrebnih za učinkovitu interpretaciju pisane baštine te predstavljaju temelj za daljnja istraživanja i promišljanja o kompetencijama potrebnim za interpretaciju pisane baštine. Originalnost. Rad razmatra koncept interpretacije pisane baštine, poglavito one o kojoj skrbe knjižnice, arhivi i muzeji, te na temelju već poznatih načela interpretacije kulturne baštine, donosi prijedlog temeljnih znanja potrebnih za učinkovitu interpretaciju pisane baštine pohranjene u baštinskim ustanovama.

Annotation:

Air pollution effects on cardiovascular hospitalizations in small urban/suburban areas have been scantly investigated. Such effects were assessed among the participants in the analytical epidemiological survey carried out in Pisa and Cascina, Tuscany, Italy (2009–2011). Cardiovascular hospitalizations from 1585 subjects were followed up (2011–2015). Daily mean pollutant concentrations were estimated through random forests at 1 km (particulate matter: PM10, 2011–2015; PM2.5, 2013–2015) and 200 m (PM10, PM2.5, NO2, O3, 2013–2015) resolutions. Exposure effects were estimated using the case-crossover design and conditional logistic regression (odds ratio—OR—and 95% confidence interval—CI—for 10 μg/m3 increase; lag 0–6). During the period 2011–2015 (137 hospitalizations), a significant effect at lag 0 was observed for PM10 (OR = 1.137, CI: 1.023–1.264) at 1 km resolution. During the period 2013–2015 (69 hospitalizations), significant effects at lag 0 were observed for PM10 (OR = 1.268, CI: 1.085–1.483) and PM2.5 (OR = 1.273, CI: 1.053–1.540) at 1 km resolution, as well as for PM10 (OR = 1.365, CI: 1.103–1.690), PM2.5 (OR = 1.264, CI: 1.006–1.589) and NO2 (OR = 1.477, CI: 1.058–2.061) at 200 m resolution; significant effects were observed up to lag 2. Larger ORs were observed in males and in subjects reporting pre-existent cardiovascular/respiratory diseases. Combining analytical and routine epidemiological data with high-resolution pollutant estimates provides new insights on acute cardiovascular effects in the general population and in potentially susceptible subgroups living in small urban/suburban areas.

The current study aimed at assessing the effects of exposure to Particulate Matter (PM) on the incidence of respiratory diseases in a sub-sample of participants in the longitudinal analytical epidemiological study in Pisa, Italy. Three hundred and five subjects living at the same address from 1991 to 2011 were included. Individual risk factors recorded during the 1991 survey were considered, and new cases of respiratory diseases were ascertained until 2011. Average PM10 and PM2.5 exposures (µg/m3, year 2011) were estimated at the residential address (1-km2 resolution) through a random forest machine learning approach, using a combination of satellite data and land use variables. Multivariable logistic regression with Firth’s correction was applied. The median (25th–75th percentile) exposure levels were 30.1 µg/m3 (29.9–30.7 µg/m3) for PM10 and 19.3 µg/m3 (18.9–19.4 µg/m3) for PM2.5. Incidences of rhinitis and chronic phlegm were associated with increasing PM2.5: OR = 2.25 (95% CI: 1.07, 4.98) per unit increase (p.u.i.) and OR = 4.17 (1.12, 18.71) p.u.i., respectively. Incidence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was associated with PM10: OR = 2.96 (1.50, 7.15) p.u.i. These results provide new insights into the long-term respiratory health effects of PM air pollution.

Rad je pisan u povodu 170. obljetnice ilirskoga preporoda, središnjega, najdjelotvornijega razdoblja hrvatskoga narodnoga preporoda. Raspravlja se o njegovu mjestu u tadašnjim europskim kretanjima, o razlozima za ilirskim imenom, o jeziku kao glavnom identiﬁkacijskom sredstvu u nacionalnoj integraciji, o jezikoslovnoj djelatnosti, iznose se jezikoslovni protudokazi nekim neutemeljenim mišljenjima u slavistici o tom vremenu i o današnjoj standardnojezičnoj situaciji na novoštokavskom prostoru. Jezičnim se podacima o novoštokavskim tipičnim obilježjima u pretpreporodnim književnim i jezikoslovnim djelima dokazuje da su novoštokavski temelji hrvatskoga standardnoga jezika položeni prije 19. st., da su hrvatski jezikoslovci 30-ih godina 19. st. prihvatili takav izbor potpuno samostalno i da je bečki književni dogovor ostao samo mrtvo slovo na papiru.

Autor u članku iznosi zapažanja o jeziku 2. beramskoga brevijara (Ljubljana, NUK, Ms163) do kojih je došao transliterirajući 120 stranica iz njegove druge knjige. U tom se hrvatskoglagoljskom brevijaru koji se rabio u Bermu, kao i u većini drugih kodeksa, isprepliću elementi crkvenoslavenskoga jezika naslijeđeni iz predloška i elementi govornoga jezika koje su pisari, svjesno ili nesvjesno unosili u tekst koji su prepisivali. Istaknute su uočene zanimljivosti na grafijskoj, fonološkoj, morfološkoj, sintaktičkoj i leksičkoj razini te pogreške koje pružaju zanimljive podatke o pisarevu materinskom govoru kao i o njegovu poznavanju crkvenoslavenskoga jezika. Autor zaključuje da je brevijar pisan u središnjoj Istri (vjerojatno u samom Bermu), ali da je prepisan sa starijega glagoljskoga predloška koji potječe najvjerojatnije s Krka.

From 1547 to his death in 1561, Luca Martini (1507–1561), a Florentine polymath and bureaucrat, was appointed superintendent of the Ufficio dei fossi in Pisa. Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici tasked him with the reorganisation of coastal Tuscany, which entailed reclaiming the Pisan plain, restoring and embellishing major and minor urban centres and reviving trade in the area. In his capacity as superintendent, however, he was also in charge of supervising Pisa’s shipyard, building a new military and commercial fleet and renovating the coastal defence system. This article will show how Martini’s unique concentration of power was instrumental in reorienting the Medici perception of the Tyrrhenian as a ‘last frontier’ to be exploited and defended.

Stari je zavjet pisan iz perspektive izraelskog naroda i u tom se smislu može smatrati etnocentričnim. U njemu je Izrael opisan kao svet i odvojen narod kojega je Bog izabrao da bi mu se objavio. Budući da je objava jedini način da grješni čovjek spozna Boga, Izraelovo je znanje o Bogu jedinstveno i jedino ispravno, pa su slijedom toga bogoštovlja drugih naroda i religija nužno krivovjerja. Istodobno je biblijski tekst prepun zamjerki prema izraelskom narodu, a sadrži niz pohvala strancima i došljacima koji su pokazali vrline kao što su pravednost, istinoljubivost, vjernost, poniznost i milosrđe, te im pridaje važno mjesto u Izraelovoj povijesti. Zbog toga je Stari zavjet, usporede li se etnos i objava, bezuvjetno objavocentričan, a tek uvjetno etnocentričan, što je diskurs kakav se nastavlja i u evanđelju.

Bahasa daerah Bali masih eksis sebagai muatan lokal wajib pada jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menangah.Sistem bicara bahasa Bali yang unik dengan anggah-ungguh basa-nya merupakan warisan budaya Bali yang patut diselamatkan.Mengingat bahasa daerah Bali memiliki peran yang strategis sebagai wahana dan akar budaya Bali, maka bahasa daerah Bali patut dipelihara, dibina, dan dilestarikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat-tingkatan bicara bahasa Bali sebagai dampak dari adanya anggah-ungguh kruna bahasa Bali.Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiolinguistik Fishman (1986). Dalam pengumpulan data digunakan metode observasi dan metode wawancara.Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif analitis. Berdasarkan anggah-ungguh kruna sebagai pembentuknya, tingkatan bahasa Bali dibedakan atas (1) basa kasar (kasar jabag dan kasar pisan, (2) basa andap, (3) basa madia, dan (4) basa alus (alus singgih, alus sor, alus mider).

Antropologija prosjačenja i ekohistorija zbirke Podgorske pripovijetke (1889.) Vjenceslava Novaka, gdje se često ističe antologijska Podgorska lutrijašica (Vijenac, 1889.), u odnosu na dijadu očevi/majke – kćeri/sinovi, dokumentira subalteran odnos iz pozicije časti prosjačkoga štapa u kojemu su roditelji pokvarenom smatrali djecu koja su se sramila prosjačenja. U drugome dijelu članka navedena Novakova tematika antropologije prosjačenja i solidarnosti postavljena je u kontekst sa socijalnim feljtonima Miroslava Krleže. U tjedniku Narodna zaštita namijenjenom, prema atribuciji u podnaslovu, ratnim nemoćnicima i siročadi, Krleža je 8. studenoga 1917. objavio feljton, kao svoj prvi članak o sirotinji, Kako stanuje sirotinja u Zagrebu? Drugi Krležin članak o sirotinji, feljton Narod koji gladuje, koji određuje kao varijantu o sijerku/metlama kojima se Hercegovci "hrane kao pogačom", pisan je na temu potresnih primjera strategija preživljavanja Hercegovaca koji su, u arealu borbi vlastitih izgladnjelih tijela, bili prisiljeni hraniti se sijerkom.

Punih je petnaest godina Lav Nikolajevič Tolstoj (1828. – 1910.) radio na svom jedinom estetskom traktatu Što je umjetnost? (1897. – 1898.) u kojem je zapisao da umjetnost nije pojava neke tajanstvene ideje ili ljepote Boga, ni produkt čovjekove energije ili manifestacija njegovih emocija, već sredstvo za međusobno komuniciranje ljudi, potrebno za život i nagnuće prema dobru svakog čovjeka. Umjetnost je za njega oblik komunikativnog stvaralaštva koje sjedinjuje ljude u istim osjećanjima među kojima se osobito ističe važnost Dobra. Upravo je prenošenje osjećajâ putem simboličkog govora glavna osobina umjetnosti. Cilj je ovoga rada iščitavanje po mnogim mjestima razasutih Tolstojevih stavova o estetici i umjetnosti da bismo došli do vizije po kojoj je umjetnost sasvim osobiti vid ‘potrage-za’, ali i odraz samoga Dobra. Rad je pisan u uvjerenju da obuhvatnije istraživanje Tolstojevih estetskih pogleda može pružiti skroman doprinos ‘rehumanizaciji umjetnosti’.

The non-indigenous and invasive calcareous sponge Paraleucilla magna Klautau, Monteiro & Borojevic, 2004 has been detected for the first time on the Algerian coast. The species has been recorded at high abundance in Algiers Port (Algiers) and in Pisan Island (Béjaïa) during spring 2018. It was present from 2 m to 20 m of depth at the community of seaweeds with filter feeders established on artificial hard substrates and on rocky boulders. Total of 172 individuals were recorded not exceeding 5 cm in height. Anthropogenic activities such as aquaculture farms or shipping traffic might be important vectors or act as stepping-stones in further expansion of Paraleucilla magna.Additional recording of the species adds to the knowledge of its biogeography distribution, biology and ecology in the Mediterranean and may improve selection of key geographical sites for future monitoring on the species proliferation and expansion.

This article argues that unexamined connections between Ezra Pound and Cyril Connolly illuminate a remodelling of form in late modernist travel writing, in a period when the genre was threatened by wartime restrictions on movement. In Cyril Connolly's The Unquiet Grave (1944) and Ezra Pound's The Pisan Cantos (1948), the ‘intellectual voyage’ becomes a compensatory response to the authors’ enforced stasis during the Second World War, and to their separation from those places in Europe whose influence was integral to their aesthetic sensibilities. Both writers adapt some of the formal strategies of high modernism to respond to this. The resulting late modernist form might be thought of as a ‘periplus’: like the navigational chart, it is shaped by a subjective ‘pilot's perspective’, and in communicating the writers’ journeys it relies on the affective quality of movement. In both works, structural and figurative motifs of the waveform in states of flux and recession reflect the writers’ compromising positions between nostalgia or escapism, and innovation.

This essay reviews the publication of Larry Eigner’s selected poems and provides an introduction to Eigner (1927–96) and his place in US poetry. It gives an account of his life, describing his lifelong disability from cerebral palsy and the trajectory of his poetic career, which ended with over three thousand poems and great acclaim from US innovative poetic communities. It then relates Eigner to those communities, specifically Black Mountain in the 1950s and 1960s and the Language writers decades later. Eigner’s poetry is glancingly compared with that of Keats and of Dickinson, but the main juxtaposition is with Pound’s Pisan Cantos, where the rushed, typewritten quality of the lines is shown to have been foundational for Olson in his influential “Projective Verse.” Eigner’s work, while it shares characteristics, calls for different manners of reading. The latter part of the essay demonstrates this, by a close reading of a number of Eigner poems.

Cette contribution s’intéresse à quelques stratégies textuelles et théoriques employées au dix-septième siècle par Marie Le Jars de Gournay (1565-1645) et François Poullain de la Barre (1647-1725). Ces derniers se sont impliqués dans la très longue « querelle des femmes ». Gournay et Poullain étaient d’ardents défenseurs de l'égalité des sexes et s’appuyaient tous deux sur le même héritage polémique établi par Christine de Pisan (1364-~1430) et Henri Corneille Agrippa (1486-1535) entre autres. Or, chacun s’exprimait depuis une positionnalité propre à son sexe, son origine et ses préjugés socioculturels tout en exploitant différentes approches rhétoriques pour exprimer sa perspective avec plus ou moins de succès. Nous traiterons de l’importance des contributions et de l’influence de ces deux auteurs en fonction des antécédents sociaux, éducatifs, sexuels, etc. Ils participaient au même débat avec des attentes manifestement différentes du public / lectorat et de réception. Les auteurs, leurs textes et le contexte méritent d’être étudiés de nouveau.

U radu koji slijedi istražuje se problem prevođenja sekundarnih jezičkih varijeteta u književnim djelima. Istraživanje se fokusira na prisustvo ijekavice i ikavice u romanu Hazarski rečnik Milorada Pavića, u kojem dva navedena narječja predstavljaju sekundarne jezičke kodove, s obzirom na to da je ekavica primarno narječje kojim je pisan roman. Milorad Pavić upotrebljava ijekavicu i ikavicu kao sekundarna narječja u romanu sa ciljem karakterizacije dva književna lika, čija je upotreba jezika pomjerena i drugačija od standarda. Rad ispituje navedenu prevodilačku problematiku analizom dva različita prevoda Hazarskog rečnika na italijanski jezik, uz poređenje izbora engleske prevoditeljke Pavićevog romana. U radu se analiziraju izbori prevoditeljki da pomenute jezičke elemente originalnog romana u prevodu na dolazni jezik neutralizuju te da ih prenesu na savremeni italijanski jezik bez pomenutih karakteristika. U radu se nude alternativna prevodilačka rješenja kojima bi se jezički diverzitet prototeksta zadržao i u metatekstu, a čime bi se i u dolaznom jeziku ostvarila piščeva namjera karakterizacije književnih likova njihovom pomjerenom upotrebom jezika.
