The main objective of this research is the design of a training program for teachers of education physics in the institution of psychomotor circuits within the psychomotor room in the Educational Center Santa Rosa School (Venezuela) using a methodology based on participatory action research capable of handling the most elementary and obvious didactic situations determined and delimited by the actors themselves based on the implementation of the cycle model—reflection-practice-observation-execution—which transforms the teachers in protagonist and integrates the figure of the educational advisor in the process of formation. The results show the change from a poorly supported pedagogical practice to an enriched one where the creation of a method of systematization of information stands out, which made his work more effective due to the creation of a series of formats for evaluation and observation relevant to the population and its performance.

With increased attention to teacher quality and accountability, instructional coaching has emerged as a popular form of teacher support and professional development in literacy and other areas of instruction. Despite significant interest from school personnel, researchers, and federal funders, there remains a lack of consensus around the key components and activities of instructional coaching. To that end, studies that use quantitative and qualitative methods can offer valuable information on the development and validation of coaching practices. This chapter briefly describes the Classroom Strategies Assessment System Coaching Model that draws on the adult learning and formative assessment literature. We offer key observations of educators' knowledge of and experience in instructional coaching from focus groups conducted with teachers in high-poverty, urban elementary schools. This case study explored the efficacy of web-based instruction on preservice elementary teachers’ mathematics learning. Web-based instruction is appealing to many schools in urban settings because it helps them to face the two big challenges most akin to their schools: to motivate students’ interests and to meet the diverse students needs with its interactive feature and adaptive capability. Ten preservice elementary teachers were interviewed regarding their ability to model and reason with fractions after receiving web-based instruction on these topics in their regular mathematics method course. The interview transcripts were used to provide information about the strength and weakness of participants’ conceptual and procedural understanding of fractions. The findings of this case study identify promises and challenges in supporting the recommendations of many national reports, such as the NCTM Professional Standards for School Mathematics (2000) and the National Mathematics Advisory Panel (2008), in incorporating technology into the compulsory mathematics classrooms.
