“This is a critical time for scholars who study international students to reassess our research agenda for the field,” remarked Rose-Redwood and Rose-Redwood (2017) in their guest editorial here two issues ago, “because we simply cannot proceed as if it were business as usual within the current political context” (p. ii). Addressing the rise of anti-immigrant environment in the country more generally, Glass (2017) wrote in the preceding editorial that “[a] staunch acceptance of reality must be buttressed by strongly held values,” enumerating values such as “promoting global engagement and understanding, engaging in civic responsibility beyond local contexts, fostering the appreciation for languages and cultures, and strengthening foreign relations and peacebuilding among nations” (p. ii).

Abstract Emerging technologies, particularly cloud computing, blockchain, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, have received noticeable attention from research and industry. These technologies contribute to innovation in public and private organizations, but threaten the privacy of individuals. The natural characteristics of these technologies are challenged by the new general data protection regulation (GDPR). In this article, we examine the compliance challenges between these technologies' characteristics and GDPR both individually and when combined. We identified compliance opportunities related to the characteristics of these technologies. We discuss possible approaches to address the compliance challenges identified and raise questions for further research in the area.

Annotation:
In this essay, I address the question of whether a clear-cut division of labor can be maintained between what a philosophical counselor attempts to accomplish in a counseling context and what a formally trained psychologist endeavors to bring about in the same context. The defense of this outlook proceeds by maintaining a bifurcated analysis between the philosophical problem implied by the client’s predicament and the cause of the client’s problem. Thus, the job of a philosophical counseling, so to speak, is to focus on the former, and the responsibility of a psychologist is to concentrate on the latter. Certainly, the intuition behind affirming this viewpoint has the tide of victory set in its favor. However, I strongly suspect that its apparent strength rests upon a confusion of what would qualify as an accurate philosophical statement implied by the client’s problem. In fact, I argue that any philosophical statement that correctly expresses the psychological predicament of the client is going to be related to what caused the client’s problem in the first place. Thus, I conclude that because of this link, a philosophical counselor cannot avoid psychologizing, to some extent, the predicaments of a client while practicing philosophical counseling.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions in the life of consumers. Consumers have started to learn and live a “new normal” lifestyle, shifting to spending only on essentials, consuming home food as compared to eating out or ordering in, increased use of technologies for shopping, education, and entertainment, and focusing on health and family. This change in the behaviour of average consumers has redefined the basics of marketing. Businesses are struggling due to lockdowns, lack of labour, tightened spending by consumers, and lack of raw materials for their operations. Working from home, consumers have started using digital technologies to search, identify, and order their bare minimum essentials. The purpose of this research paper is to evaluate how marketers should redefine their marketing strategies to adapt to changing consumer behaviour. As consumer behaviour is changing because of COVID-19, marketers need to rethink their fundamental marketing campaigns, moving away from traditional in-store marketing techniques to using digital technologies to reach consumers at their homes. This research was conducted using a structured questionnaire sent out to marketing executives. The responses received were analysed using SmartPLS. The present study provides valuable insights to the marketers on the emerging strategies that need to be adopted. Marketers should comprehend the social and economic impact of the pandemic, invest in digital technologies to reach out to customers virtually, streamline their supply chain to take advantage of localisation, offer family-oriented products, adopt short-term pricing policies, and develop alliances with competition for economies of scale.

IntroductionThe trend for microelectronic devices has historically been, and will continue to be, toward a smaller feature size, faster speeds, more complexity, higher power, and lower cost. The driving force behind these advances has traditionally been microprocessors. With the tremendous growth of wireless telecommunications, rf applications are beginning to drive many areas of microelectronics that traditionally were led by developments in microprocessors. An increasingly dominant factor in rf microelectronics is electronic packaging, and the materials needed to create the package, because the package materials strongly affect the performance of the electronics. Many challenges remain for the packaging of microprocessors as well. These challenges include increased speed, the number of input/output interconnects, decreased pitch, and decreased cost. This article highlights the key issues facing the packaging of high-performance digital and rf electronics.

In today's environment the leader is already faced with changes in the status quo of the field of work. Changes such as automation and digitization of work, changing forms of employment and the constant demand for further specialization make up an explosive context that could not easily be considered productive and psychologically likable for humans. There has been a great demographic shift, therefore different generations of employees need to be led properly within the organization. On the threshold of the 4.0 industrial revolution, leaders need to balance variables such as technological advances and the generational differences and/or clashes. To properly lead the organization, leaders must have abilities and skills that fall within all four capitals, economic, human, social and positive psychological capital. The ever-evolving theory of leadership highlights the characteristics that leaders must have for the organization to prosper and subordinates/followers as well. The paper discusses the leadership theory and the emergence of e-leadership. The new mentality and the differences within different generations are analyzed as well. The paper proposes the concept of the ‘holistic’ leader and discusses the gap regarding the leadership theories and the need for the higher education programs to be modified for the new leaders to be trained more effectively.

The final step of reflowing solder spheres to solderable pads on the bottom of substrates in FCBGA, CSP, and WLCSP packages is often considered to be a trivial step. However, with the increasing complexity and number of assembly processes taken prior to this final soldering step, the formation of a reliable final joint is far from certain. In order to eliminate this problem, many OSATs and ODMs are adopting the non-value-added process of prefluxing, reflowing, cleaning, and drying substrates immediately prior to the final ball-attach process. This paper details the sequence of processes seen in typical BGA assembly, and examines the effects of each set of prior processes on the solderability of the final pad. It also details investigations of the solderable surface and metallurgy of the substrate pad. The introduction of a “one-step” pin-transfer ball-attach flux is shown to be a means of reducing both process cost and time, and also reducing the risk of significant warpage in the finished package.

The formation of a Ball Grid Array (BGA) solder joint is critical for a BGA package where typically a flux deposition process is used. Reflowing solder spheres to solderable pads on the bottom of substrates in standard BGA, FCBGA, CSP, and similar packages is considered to be a trivial step: a specialized BGA flux is usually pin-transferred onto the pads, followed by balldrop onto the substrate. However, with the increasing complexity and number of assembly processes taken prior to this final step, the formation of a reliable final joint is far from certain. In order to eliminate variability, many OSATs and ODMs use the so-called “two step” (double fluxing) approach, which is comprised of the non-value-added extra processes of prefluxing, reflowing, cleaning, and drying substrates immediately prior to the final flux-based ball-attach process. This paper details the sequence of processes seen in typical FCBGA assembly, and examines the effects of each set of prior processes on the solderability of the final pad. The introduction of a “one-step” pin-transfer ball-attach flux is shown to be a means of reducing both process cost and time, and also reducing the risk of increased warpage in the finished package. The paper also investigates the solderable surface and metallurgy of the substrate pad. The variety of new and emerging failure modes for the BGA process as well as the different testing methods for the materials will also be discussed.
