Graphical event models (GEMs) are representations of temporal point process dynamics between different event types. Many real-world applications however involve limited event stream data, making it challenging to learn GEMs from data alone. In this paper, we introduce approaches that can work together in a score-based learning paradigm, to augment data with potentially different types of background knowledge. We propose novel scores for learning an important parametric class of GEMs; in particular, we propose a Bayesian score for leveraging prior information as well as a more practical simplif

Written and drawn annotations of musical scores form a core part of the music composition process for both individuals and groups. This article reflects on the annotations made in new forms of distributed music-making wherein the score and its annotations are shared across the web. Four kinds of annotation are identified from 8 years of studies of mutual engagement through distributed music-making systems. It is suggested that new forms of web-based music-making might benefit from shared and persistent graphical annotation mechanisms.

ALBI (Albumin-Bilirubin) score is routinely used in grading liver function of hepatocarcinoma and hepatitis patients. In this purposive review, the published values of serum albumin, bilirubin in Viral hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Scrub typhus, Enteric fever has been compared with that of melioidosis. Since PubMed yielded zero searches with key words “albumin, bilirubin, melioidosis”, it was searched in Google Scholar, a better retrievable search engine. This yielded 46 relevant articles with 53 ALBI scores for Melioidosis. An equivalent search to retrieve 53 ALBI scores was made in Google Scholar

rscore computes unit-specific responsiveness scores using an iterated random-coefficient regression approach. The model fit by rscore considers a regression of a response variable y, that is, outcome, on a series of factors (or regressors) x, that is, varlist, by assuming a different reaction (or “responsiveness”) of each unit to each factor contained in x. rscore allows for i) ranking units according to the obtained level of the responsiveness score; ii) detecting more influential factors in driving unit performance; and iii) studying the distribution (heterogeneity) of factors’ responsivenes

Thanks to this new visualization, human behavior, in particular locomotion, can now be condensed into an easy-to-read and user-friendly output. As time series collected while monitoring patients in Semi Free-Living Environments are often long and complex, our contribution relies on an innovative pipeline of signal processing methods and machine learning algorithms. Once learned, the graphical representation is able to sum up all activities present in
