I denne oppgaven valgte jeg en kvalitativ metode og et kvalitaivt forskningsintervju for å få tak i hva lærerene vektlegger for å oppnå kontakt med elevene. Oppgavens problemstilling har vært; Hva legger lærere på yrkesfaglig utdanningsprogram vekt på i etablering av kontakt med sine elever? Tre lærere fra en videregående skole i Nord–Trøndelag har bidratt til at denne oppgaven har blitt til. Lærerne ble anbefalt av en rådgiver ved skolen og valgt ut fra engasjement, omdømme, og at de hadde jobbet spesielt tett opp imot sine elever de siste årene med tanke på at flest mulig skulle gjennomføre.
