Västerländsk litteratur som behandlar asiatiska religioner använder ofta västerländska begrepp för att beskriva religiösa objekt och företeelser. Emellertid överensstämmer inte alltid översättningen med den inhemska innebörden av begreppet. Ett exempel på detta är det japanska konceptet kami, som felaktigt översätts med västerländska begrepp som ”gudomar” och ”andar”. Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera kamibegreppets semantiska spektrum i en specifik inhemsk religiös textsamling. Boken som valdes för detta ändamål är Sir Ernest Satows översättning av ritualtexter från Yeñgishiki ’Ceremoniella lagen’ som härstammar från 800-talet. Ett vidare syfte med uppsatsen är att påvisa att kamikonceptet innehåller mer än vad som inryms i de västerländska begreppen ”gudomar” och ”andar”. Slutsatsen är att kamikonceptet inte kan tolkas som ”gudomar” eller ”andar” då det innefattar allt som inger vördnad och inspiration hos människan. Detta gör att begreppet kami inte kan översättas till västerländska termer.

A partir do cotejo e da análise de várias obras pictóricas (pinturas, gravuras e ilustrações do Japão) e narrativas (livros, contos, peças de teatro, filmes, animações e quadrinhos japoneses), este trabalho busca apresentar a variedade e o sincretismo do sobrenatural no Japão, que não se encontra somente nos deuses xintoístas (kami), nas divindades budistas (bosatsu), nos fantasmas (yûrei), nas criaturas folclóricas (yôkai) e nos fenômenos sobrenaturais produzidos por estes, mas também nos monges, xamãs, adivinhos e nas tentativas de controlar magicamente o rumo das coisas amuletos, oráculos, festivais, rituais e oferendas. O primeiro capítulo apresenta um breve histórico das pesquisas sobre youkais e também procura defini-los e apresentar suas características próprias. O estudo prossegue definindo e caracterizando também os fantasmas japoneses. No segundo capítulo, tratamos de Tôkaidô Yotsuya Kaidan (1825), peça de kabuki escrita por Tsuruya Nanboku IV, a obra fantástica mais adaptada do Japão. Através dela, observamos o terror sobrenatural criado a partir de uma base realista-naturalista e tentamos discutir as mudanças nos papéis desempenhados pelos gêneros e as imbricadas relações entre fato, ficção, religião e folclore. Além disso, apresentamos em detalhes o icônico personagem de Oiwa e também exemplos de como são executados efeitos especiais teatrais conhecidos em japonês como keren. A dissertação se conclui com observações sobre as dificuldades encontradas no estudo de uma cultura estrangeira e a apresentação de questões suscitadas pelo decurso da pesquisa
From the collation and analysis of various pictorial works ( paintings, prints and illustrations from Japan ) and narratives ( Japanese books, short stories, plays, films, animations and comics ) , this study aims to present the variety and the syncretism of the supernatural in Japan, which is not only in the Shinto gods ( kami ), in the Buddhist deities ( bosatsu ), in ghosts ( yûrei ), in folkloric creatures ( yôkai ) and in supernatural phenomena produced by them, but also in the monks, shamans, diviners and in attempts to magically control the direction of things amulets, oracles, festivals, rituals and offerings. The first chapter presents a brief history of research on yokai and also seeks to define them and present their own characteristics. The study goes on also defining and featuring the Japanese ghosts. In the second chapter, we treat of Tôkaido Yotsuya Kaidan (1825), written by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, the most adapted fantastique work of Japan. Through it, we see the supernatural horror created from a realistic-naturalistic base and we try to discuss the changes in roles played by genders and the intertwined relations between fact, fiction, religion and folklore. Furthermore, we present in detail the iconic character of Oiwa and also examples of how theatrical special effects known in Japanese as keren run. The dissertation concludes with observations on the difficulties encountered in the study of a foreign culture and with the presentation of issues raised by the course of the research

This thesis presents a distributed computing system, Kami, which provides support for applications running in an environment of heterogeneous workstations linked together by a high speed network. It enables users to easily create distributed applications by providing a backbone infrastructure of localized daemons which operate in a peer-to-peer networking environment, providing support for software distribution, network communication, and data streaming suitable for use by coarse grained distributed applications. As a collective entity, kami daemons, each individually run on a single machine, form a cooperating anarchy of processes. These support their applications using adaptive algorithms with no form of centralized control. Instead of attempting to provide a controlled environment, this thesis assumes a heterogeneous and uncontrolled environment, and presents a model for distributed computation that is completely decentralized and uses multicast communication between workstations to form an ecology of co-operating processes, which actively attempt to maintain an equilibrium between the demands of their users and the capabilities of the workstations on which they are running.

La mia tesi si prefigge lo scopo di fornire una visione rinnovata del pensiero spirituale della scuola del Kokugaku analizzandone esponenti che potremmo definire “minori” e precedenti alla creazione del Kokka Shintō sulla base del pensiero della scuola di Hirata del Kokugaku. All’interno della mia tesi di laurea analizzo e definisco la concezione e le ideologie shintō durante il periodo Edo prestando particolare attenzione a come esso venga identificato, spiegato e rielaborato da diversi kokugakusha. Nel primo capitolo affronto in modo generale cosa si intende con il termine “shintō” e presento un quadro dettagliato di quali erano le tradizioni shintō presenti in Giappone durante il periodo Edo mostrando i diversi contatti che queste hanno avuto con tradizioni religiose differenti. Nel secondo capitolo presento la scuola del Kokugaku mostrandone l’evoluzione, partendo dalle origini con Keichū e Kada no Azumamaro, analizzando quali fossero i pensieri e gli studi effettuati all’interno di una scuola fortemente eterogenea in cui si mescolano interessi diversi, ma dove rimane centrale il tema letterario. Successivamente, partendo dagli studi e dal pensiero di Motoori Norinaga, presento come questo interesse venga messo in secondo piano da alcuni kokugakusha per valorizzare e portare avanti studi di carattere spirituale e spesso incentrati sulla concezione di “shintō”. In questa sezione e nel capitolo successivo intendo cercare di fornire una nuova prospettiva sulla scuola cercando di distaccare l’interesse accademico generale dai quattro grandi uomini del Kokugaku, cercando di fornire uno studio su kokugakusha “minori”. Infine, nell’ultimo capitolo, analizzo le visioni e le ideologie shintō di alcuni kokugakusha. In questa sezione, basandomi su quanto affrontato nei due capitoli precedenti, voglio presentare come le diverse tradizioni shintō presenti all’interno del paese nel periodo Edo abbiamo influenzato le visioni di alcuni kokugakusha sullo shintō, e come queste, a loro volta, abbiano possibilmente influenzato le pratiche shintō e le realtà locali e sociali.

This study on Hie-Sanno mandara from medieval Japan examines the pictorial representations of the kami and the landscape of the Hie Shrine, and considers the religious, historical, and cultural constituents that formed the iconography of Shinto-Buddhist mandara. The cult of Hie-Sanno flourished during the medieval periods in close association with the Enryaku-ji on Mt. Hiei, the historic sanctuary of Tendai Buddhism. The kami of the Hie Shrine, Sanno Gongen, were perceived as the protectors of the temple, and the images of Sanno Gongen developed under a strong Buddhist influence. The wide dissemination of the honji-suijaku theory, particularly during the Kamakura period (1185-1333), encouraged the development of a new genre of religious paintings that are distinguished from the authentic Buddhist mandalas by the term Shinto-Buddhist mandara. They exemplify the nature of the medieval Japanese religiosity in which various elements from the indigenous belief, the Buddhist philosophy, and the Daoist tradition were entwined in a complex web of associations. In this study, examples of Hie-Sanno mandara are categorized according to their subject matters into three basic types, honji-butsu mandara, suijaku mandara, and miya mandara. The visual images are naturally the central concern, but in order to elucidate the iconography of mandara, I have adopted an interdisciplinary approach and referred to studies in religion, history, and literature as well as art history and archaeology. The first chapter provides the historical background to the development of the Hie-Sanno cult, and the second and third chapters examine the iconography of the kami, while the fourth and fifth chapters discuss the iconography of landscape and attempt to define the concept of sacred space in historical context. Each chapter focuses on particular images that reflect the philosophical and functional requirements of the period, and where necessary, comparisons and references were made to relevant contemporary images.

This essay is about the religious change that Jing-cult underwent 600-1500 A.D. It is a historical-critical essay based on literature studies, using Håkan Rydving’s theory of religious change. In chronological order, it will go through the religious change from ancient Japan to the late Muromachi-period when Shinto was created. It describes the early temple- cult, buddhism's mission to Japan and how the Jingikan was created. Further, it addresses the changes that occurred with the immigration from Korea and the consequences involved in the creation of the great temple-shrine complex in which Shinto and buddhism fused. Finally, it tells how the theological thinking of Japanese buddhism and the Jingi-cult changed and created Shinto. The essay has the main focus on the Kami-tradition, the shrine-tradition and the study of Shinto. The essay discusses the changes that occurred in the end and draw conclusions about why they occurred. The conclusion reached is that buddhism has had a great influence and changed the Jingi-cult most. In history there has come about akultration between buddhism and the Jingi-cult that eventually resulted in the creation of Shinto.

En la actualidad, debido a la pandemia ocasionada por la COVID-19, se ha optado por la modalidad virtual remota, con nuevas metodologías, estrategias para la realización de las actividades y que sean eficaces para la comprensión de lectura. Donde se optó por integrar un programa basado en Kami para desarrollar la comprensión de lectura en estudiantes de tercer año del nivel secundario, y poder determinar su efecto. Utilizando el diseño experimental, haciendo uso de la encuesta y cuestionario, aplicando a una muestra de 50 estudiantes, siendo seleccionada mediante el muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Este estudio tiene como finalidad lograr una mejora de la comprensión de lectura empleando el programa “Kami”, con fines de que no se siga incrementando la baja comprensión que poseen los estudiantes en esta nueva modalidad educativa. En síntesis, este proyecto tiene un alto impacto en el ámbito educativo, dado que integrar las TIC como estrategia para una buena comprensión de lectura es importante, ya que ahora nos encontramos más familiarizados con las herramientas tecnológicas, y así se logre contribuir con el aprendizaje significativo que cada uno de los docentes busca en sus estudiantes.

Esta pesquisa tem como foco os usos da escrita e as práticas de letramentos entre os Yanomae do Demini, Toototopi e Missão Catrimani, três regiões localizadas na Terra Indígena Yanomami. Partindo de uma visão crítica, reflexiva, contextual, social e histórica da escrita esta pesquisa propõe um diálogo entre os estudos de letramentos e os povos indígenas, além de apresentar um registro dos processos de alfabetização, escolarização e formação dos Yanomae. Tem com eixo central a descrição das práticas de letramentos desenvolvidas pelos Yanomae e considera que apesar do pouco tempo de apropriação da escrita, ela é utilizada em diferentes contextos, por jovens e velhos, homens e mulheres, alfabetizados ou não, cada um a seu modo possui conhecimentos e sabem lidar com a escrita fazendo diferentes e variados usos.
This research focuses on the use of writing and practices of literacies among the Yanomae Demini Toototopi and Mission Catrimani three regions located in the Yanomami. From a critical, reflexive, contextual, social and historical view of writing this research proposes a dialogue between studies of literacies and indigenous peoples, and present a record of the processes of literacy, schooling and training yanomae. It has a central axis describing the practices of literacies developed by yanomae and believes that despite the short time of ownership of writing, it is used in different contexts, by young and old, men and women, literate or not, each in his own way Have knowledge and know how to deal with writing doing different and varied uses.

Salme (1850 hab. ) est situe dans les moyennes collines du nepal (alt. 1850m). L'enquete couvrait un echantillon de 31 familles : 22 ghale, 3 tamang (tibeto-birmans) et 6 kami (forgerons de basse caste). Les cereales cultivees sont dans l'ordre de leur importance: mais, eleusine, ble, riz et orge. Preparations alimentaires et consommations individuelles ont ete pesees pendant une annee complete avec evaluation saisonniere de l'etat nutritionnel par anthropometrie. L'enquete retrospective sur la mortalite infantile a touche 382 femmes avec 1380 naissances vivantes. L'alimentation a ete analysee selon la saisonnalite, le lieu de residence (kami, tamang-ghale du village et t-g vivant avec le betail), et 4 categories de sexe et d'age. La saisonnalite observee concerne surtout le choix des cereales et des legumes. Une periode d'abondance relative a ete observee de decembre a fevrier. La population consomme en moyenne 490 g de cereales, 95 g de tubercules, 135g de legumes, 30g de lait et 8g de viande. La consommation par habitant etait de 1844 kcal (7. 8mj) et de 50g de proteines dont 6% d'origine animale. Les relations entre aliments et nutriments ont ete analysees. Les cereales fournissent 90% de l'energie et 85% des proteines. La perte de poids pendant la mousson etait significative mais faible (hommes 1. 2 kg, femmes 0,6 kg). Les enfants de 1 a 3 ans couvrent 53% des besoins energetiques pour leur poids effectif, de 4 a 6 ans 68%, les autres enfants et adultes 90 a 95%. Les petits enfants mangent relativement plus de produits d'origine animale. .
Salme (pop. 1500) lies in the middle hills of nepal (alt. 1850m). The survey covers a sample of 31 families: 22 ghale, 3 tamang (both tibeto-birmans) and 6 kami (low cast blacksmiths). Cereal crops are, in order of their importance, maize, finger millet, wheat, rice and barley. Food preparations and individual intakes have been weighed in a year round survey with seasonal evaluation of the nutritional status by anthropometry. The retrospective infant mortality survey covered 382 women with 1380 live births. Food consumption has been analysed to seasonal variations, to residence (kami vs. Tamang-ghale village dwellers vs. T-g who live with their cattle in a mobile shelter) and to sex and age groups. Seasonal fluctuations concern mainly the choice of cereals and other foodstuffs. A period of relative abundance was observed from december to february. Average consumption was 490 g of cereals, 95g of roots, 135 g of vegetables, 30 g of milk and 8 g of meat. Per capita intakes were 1844 kcal (7. 8mj) and 50 g of protein (6% of animal origin). Relations between foodstuffs and nutrients have been analyzed. Weight loss during the rainy season was significant but low: 1. 1 kg for men and 0. 6 kg for women. Energy allowances were calculated from bmr's derived from actual body weights. Children 1-3 yr. Consume 53% of these standards, from 4-6 yr. 68%, older children and adults 90 to 95%. L’elaborato si propone di analizzare il culto di Inari Ōkami, il kami giapponese del riso e del denaro, dapprima paragonandolo all’altro kami solitamente legato alla risicoltura, ovvero il ta no kami, e poi al demone di origini indiane da cui eredità numerose caratteristiche, cioè Dakini. Si discuterà, quindi, sia di chi Inari non è che di chi Inari è stato, è e diventa nel corso della storia attraverso l’aggregazione di miti e credenze. Perché sia ancor più netta la differenza tra Inari e le due figure divine paragonategli, di queste ultime verranno esplorate le storie e le particolarità. A proposito di Inari, invece, si dirà non solo della sua storia, ma anche del suo rapporto con la comunità a lui fedele e con il territorio a cui è legato, nonché agli elementi che più spesso gli vengono associati: il tama, ovvero il gioiello che esaudisce i desideri; il colore rosso, tipico dei suoi santuari; i torii che al Fushimi Inari Taisha, suo principale santuario, accompagnano il visitatore durante il suo percorso. Inoltre, si analizzerà il culto della volpe, messaggera di Inari, che forse più di lui eredita elementi dal demone Dakini, come l’enfasi sulla femminilità e sulla sensualità. Infine, si parlerà del Fushimi Inari Taisha, della sua storia, struttura, delle festività principale ivi tenute e delle particolarità che lo contraddistinguono.

Entendidas como construcciones socioculturales, consideramos que su punto de proyecci?n es la comunidad, especialmente el grupo familiar (ie) cohesionado a trav?s de los lazos de reciprocidad y perpetuado en lo sagrado por medio de la veneraci?n a los ancestros. A pesar de sus transformaciones y manipulaciones, la familia japonesa a?n se entiende como una comunidad eterna, pues sus miembros se mantienen unidos a?n despu?s de su deceso, en una soluci?n de continuidad entre los vivos y los muertos. This study discloses Shinto’s experiential and existential significance and aims to articulate Shinto’s sacred objective. It shows that Shinto, by way of experience, communicates being in the world with nature and with others as a sacred objective. This suggests that Shinto, in communicating its objective, appeals to the emotions more so than to the intellect; and that Shinto’s sacred objective does not transcend the natural world of both nature and everyday affairs. This study pursues this goal by showing the experiential and existential dimensions of the three primary features of Shinto: it shows how kami (or kami-ness) is thought of as an awe producing quality of being/s that are mostly associated with the natural world; how Shinto shrines’ aesthetics and atmosphere are thought to evoke a feeling of the natural world’s sacredness; and how festivals are thought to be ecstatic and effervescent occasions that regenerate an affirmation of being in the world with others. Though this study does not employ a strict methodological approach—insofar as the conclusions herein are based primarily on literature review—it was motivated by an existential outlook on the study of religion and assumes that the term “religion” refers primarily to an existential phenomenon that pertains not necessarily to socio-historical institutions but to a way of being in the world.

Genom att använda folktro och religion skapade den Japanska regimen under två eror, Meji och Showa, ett instrument för att tygla folket och ge obehindrad makt till toppskiktet i samhället. Man underströk kejsarfamiljens gudomliga arv som släkting till dem mäktigaste kamin i gudavärlden solgudinnan Amaterasu. Som släkting till henne var han att betrakta som gud och fick aldrig ifrågasättas. Det Japanska folket var inte heller vilket folk som helst utan ett härskarfolk som även det hade gudomlig härkomst. När folket sedan genom mängder av propaganda från skolväsendet upp igenom hela samhället indoktrinerats om sin och kejsarens överhöghet var det dags att visa resten av världen sin gudomlighet. Genom att besegra sina fiender i krig blev övertygelsen än större på hemmafronten och Kokka Shinto tycktes mer och mer sitta inne med sanningen. Japan var riktigt nära att slå ut den amerikanska flottan under andra världskriget, men en serie förluster satte stopp för framgångarna och Japan besegrades. Den amerikanska ockupationsmakten identifierade Kokka Shinto som skyldig till aggressionerna på samma sätt som nazismen var för Tyskland.

Kokka Shinto hjälpte till att göra Japan till en fascistisk stat precis som syftet var med den. Från början av Mejirestorationen till slutet av Andra Världskriget var Kokka Shinto en framgångssaga för ultranationalisterna men de allierades seger krossades Statsshinto. Det finns dock kvarlämningar av Statsshinto i Japan och när en Japansk premiärminister kan besöka Yasukuni-templet utan att tvingas avgå visar landet att man ännu har en bit att vandra innan man helt har kastat av sig sitt nationalistiska och fascistiska ok.

Slutsatsen blir därför att jag inte anser att Kokka Shinto är en religion utan snarare mäktiga mäns sluga utnyttjande av folktro och vidskeplighet i syfte att ta över ett land. Kokka Shinto är en veritabel våldtäkt på en legitim religion men genom att använda samma mytologi och historia köper man sig legitimitet. Man måste som utomstående vara mycket distinkt i att skilja på Shinto och Kokka Shinto ungefär på samma sätt som man skiljer på Socialism från Nationalsocialism. Fram till 1868 var Shinto en mycket tolerant religion och efter 1945 är det så återigen, det finns dock ett nationellt tema i Shinto som onda krafter kan utnyttja.

Miwa Yanagi’s Elevator Girls series, a collection of glossy photographs featuring groups of similarly clad women lingering in expansive, empty arcades, made its international debut in 1996. While the pieces garnered positive reactions, Yanagi found that most Western viewers read her work as predominantly “Oriental”—confirming stereotypes of a highly polished techno-topic Japan that was still negotiating gender equality. In this thesis, I explore alternative ways of reading Yanagi’s Elevator Girls series, which, I argue, call attention to myopic views of commercialism and identity in order to provide an alternative reading of these women as agents of transgression and ideological transcendence. Whereas many viewed Yanagi’s works as a comment on capitalist machinations, where consumerism has produced soulless, vapid feminine identities, I focus on the ways in which these women exercise agency without relying on notions of an individualized, unique ego.

The thesis consists of the novel The Fox and the Mirror and an accompanying exegesis. The novel is an historical fantasy set in a world based on early medieval (12-13th century) Japan. The main characters are a young female shaman, Hatsu, and a young warrior’s assistant, Sada, who is a Buddhist believer. When Hatsu’s village and shrine are destroyed by warriors and her summoning mirror is stolen, she is abandoned by her kami . To experience the kami’s presence again, she must follow the thief and retrieve the mirror before it can be used to resurrect an ancient evil. Sada must capture Hatsu and bring her back to his lord, or his family will suffer. Yet he is entranced by Hatsu and feels guilt at the destruction of her village. He must choose whether to abandon his former life and stay with Hatsu, or betray her. In the novel I have tried to invoke the feel of a place and time where the supernatural is as real as the physical world; I also try to imagine how a religion as alien to Japanese native beliefs as Buddhism became a part of that country’s spiritual culture. In the exegesis I reflect upon how I used various kinds of history, both written and unwritten, to build the world, characters and narratives of The Fox and the Mirror, and thereby explore some ways in which historical fantasy, as a sub-genre of historical fiction, is capable of presenting an ‘authentic’ view of the past, in spite of its non-realistic nature. I identify three main ways historical fantasy writers can provide an authentic view of the past: by using telling details from an historical era; by incorporating documented events and persons into the story; and by portraying the world as people in the past believed it to be. Historical fantasy is different from realistic historical fiction in that it can more easily incorporate elements belonging to shared cultural heritage, such as beliefs regarding the dead and the supernatural. This characteristic involves writers in research using material that involves other ways of knowing the past—in particular the expressions of belief such as religion, popular customs, folk tales, and oral history. With the broadening of our historiological perspectives in the postmodern climate, historical fantasy based on non-documentary forms of history may come to be seen as another way of knowing the past.

La voie de synthèse des acides aminés ramifiés est présente chez les plantes, les bactéries et les champignons mais est absente chez les mammifères. C’est pourquoi il est intéressant de cibler cette voie métabolique par des inhibiteurs spécifiques des enzymes qui la compose afin de développer des herbicides non sélectifs. Une famille d’herbicide déjà commercialisée agit sur la première enzyme de cette chaine enzymatique. Néanmoins des cas de mauvaises herbes résistantes à ces composés sont apparus et leur incidence continue d’augmenter. Il apparait donc important de cibler une autre enzyme de la voie de synthèse de ces acides aminés ramifiés afin de contourner ce problème de résistance.L’enzyme cétoacide réductoisomérase (KARI) intervient également dans la voie métabolique citée précédemment. Deux inhibiteurs IpOHA et Hoe 704 ont été développés dans les années 1980, mais malheureusement n’ont pas montré d’activité lors de traitements en plein champ. Cependant ils restent tous les deux, les références en tant qu’inhibiteurs in vitro.L’analyse de la diffraction par rayons X de KARI cristallisée avec un des inhibiteurs ou son substrat naturel montre que les groupements fonctionnels portés par ces derniers viennent complexer deux cations métalliques au sein du site actif. De plus la comparaison des structures des inhibiteurs ou des états de transition du substrat permet de dégager une structure générale pour le développement de nouvelles molécules potentiellement actives. Ainsi trois sous-structures doivent être présentes avec une double pince complexante, un groupement lipophile et un groupement accepteur de liaison hydrogène.Dans ce contexte, différents groupements comme des oxydes de diorganylphosphines, des dihydropyrimidinediones, des dérivés d’acides carboxyliques ou hydroxamiques peuvent être modifiés et utilisés comme motifs complexants. Les fonctions et groupements fonctionnels cités ont déjà prouvé leur efficacité lors du développement d’autres inhibiteurs de métalloenzymes
The branched-chain amino acids metabolic pathway is present in many living beings such as plants, bacteria and fungi but not in mammals. This is why it has been interesting to target this enzymatic pathway with specific inhibitors in order to develop non-selective herbicides. The main non-selective herbicides commercialised inhibit the first enzyme of this metabolic route. However more and more cases of resistant weed appeared and spread. Thus it raises the interest and importance of designing new compounds targeting another enzyme from the biological pathway in order to circumvent the resistance issue.The Ketolacid Reductoisomerase (KARI) protein also intervenes in the aforementioned enzymatic pathway. Although two inhibitors, IpOHA and Hoe 704, were synthesised during the 80s they have not proven active enough in field treatment. Nonetheless both inhibitors remain as references for in vivo biological activity.The X-ray diffraction representations of KARI including each inhibitor or its natural substrate show that the functional groups borne by the latter chelate two metal cations within the active site. Moreover the comparison between inhibitor structures and the substrate transition states reveals a general pattern in order to design and develop new potential biologically active compounds. For that purpose three major substructure units have to be considered: a double chelating pincer, a lipophilic group and a hydrogen bond accepting moiety.In this context different functional groups such as diorganylphosphine oxides, dihydropyrimidinediones, carboxylic acid or hydroxamic acid derivatives could be modified and used as chelating motifs. The functional groups listed have already proven their efficacy as part of other metalloenzyme inhibitors

The research investigates, qualitatively, the experience of primary caregivers of children who are ventilator-dependent and cared for at home. Advances in medical and nursing knowledge and technology have improved the biological outcome of children who are critically ill. As a result, there is an increasing number of children in hospital who are medically stable, however dependent upon long-term respiratory support. Due to the increasing change from healthcare delivery to home care, some ventilator-dependent children are discharged to their primary caregivers who undertake the medical and technical care of the children in their home. A review of the literature indicates limited research examining and addressing issues of pediatric home ventilation. Information concerning the experience and needs of the primary caregivers of an in-home ventilator-dependent child is thus unavailable for effective and appropriate clinical interventions and policy implementation. To address the gap in the literature, a phenomenographic research approach was used to identify and describe a limited number of qualitatively different ways in which the primary caregivers understood their experience of caring for a ventilator-dependent child at home. An in-depth interview was undertaken with each of those seventeen participants and recorded on audiotape for transcribing verbatim. Data was sorted using a qualitative software program--ATLAS.ti.--and analysed using a series of seven analytical steps recommended for a phenomenographic research (Dahlgren and Fallsberg, 1991). The outcomes of the research are seven categories of description with each representing a conception of the experience, and all categories combined constituting an outcome space that presents the structural relations between conceptions. The seven categories of description representing the care-giving experiences of the primary caregivers are: (1) 'Hospital is another world to me'; (2) 'It's a new world'; (3) An ambiguous social identity;(4) The medical technology associated with my child is frightening but necessary;(5) 'The difficulty is having the carers at home'; (6) Social isolation; and (7) The experience of changing as a person. Discussions on the outcomes of the research indicate a need for increased understanding of the 'new world' of the primary caregivers and a recognition and acknowledgement of the distinctive nature of the experience in caring for a ventilator-dependent child at home. Hence, increased financial, respite, psychological and social support are of central importance, in addition to ongoing healthcare research, education, and practice for appropriate policy development, implementation and evaluation.

Prostate cancer frequently metastasizes to bone, which becomes incurable; yet how cancer cells manage to migrate and grow inside the bone remains unknown. In this study I have discovered that both bone and fat cells within the bone marrow actively promote the survival and expansion of prostate cancer cells, and have subsequently developed approaches that can effectively inhibit these processes. Therefore, my work offers opportunities for the development of new prognostic and therapeutic approaches against metastatic prostate cancer and have the potential for improving the treatment outcome of the patients.

This thesis investigated the development of novel nitroxide radical polymer materials for imaging and energy storage applications. Profluorescent redox-responsive polymers were prepared which displayed enhanced sensitivity and extended observation times over conventional small-molecule probes. Furthermore, the application of nitroxide radical polymers as energy storage materials was explored. For this purpose, an improved synthetic methodology for such materials is presented. Finally, a novel organic high-voltage electroactive material was developed and successfully demonstrated in lithium-ion battery prototypes.

I detta examensarbete har vi jobbat att utveckla ett analogt spel, ett brädspel alltså, med temat av ett interplanetärt krig som spelare har i uppgift att få slut på genom att anta rollerna som diplomater för de olika stridande fraktionerna. Temats huvudpunkt har varit att utveckla och utforska ett spel som har sin rot i krig och våld men som spelas och vinns helt verbalt och icke-våldsamt.  Metodologin vi har använt oss av under arbetets gång har varit iterativa. Prioriterings metoder som MoSCoW metoden har väglett våra designval och i vilken riktning vi har tagit projektets utveckling. För att realisera vår vision har vi tagit till att producera fram en rad olika prototyper i både LoFi och HiFi utförande. Dessa prototyper har sedan testats rejält i en serie olika Kvalitativa Speltester.  Genom alltihop har designprocessen utgått ifrån tematiken och det sammanhängande syftet, feedback från speltester och iterativ utveckling. Hur all design har förhållit sig till designperspektivet Critical Design har varit av yttersta vikt då tematiken vilar på att vi genom vår designprocess utmanar och ställer funderare till spelarna.  Resultatet av arbetet är ett brädspel som inte bara är underhållande att spela, utan som ställer krav på spelarna att tänka utanför lådan, att tänka till nya lösningar på traditionella problem. Ett spel som med hjälp av forskning och robust, iterativ, metodologi har uppnått syftet och realiserat det valda temat. Efter allt var sagt och gjort så kunde vi konstatera att arbetet inte var utan brister. Inte tillräckligt många speltester var en brist. En uppsjö av olika mekaniker som kanske inte fullt nådde sin potential var en annan. Men vi fann även styrkor. Vi har ett uppskattat spel där det finns gott om rum för utveckling i en reviderad utgåva eller t.om större expansioner. Sammantaget så har vi en robust gestaltning som bevis på ett robust arbete kring frågor om hur man kan spela traditionella spel på annorlunda sätt.
In this bachelor thesis we have  developed an analogue game in other words, a board game. With themes of interplanetary war where the player is tasked to put an end to by assuming the role of diplomats for the factions that are involved. The main theme has been to develop and explore a game that is rooted in war and violence but that is played and won through verbal and non-violent means. The methods we have been using during this project have been iterative. The main method have been the MoSCoW method with have been guiding our design choices and in what direction we’ve taken the projects development. To realise our vision we have taken to producing a plethora of prototypes in both LoFi and HiFi versions. These prototypes have then been tested rigorously in a series of Qualitative Playtests.  Throughout it all the design process has been based on the thematics and it’s adjoining purpose, feedback from playtesters and iterative development. How all of the design has adhered to the design perspective of Critical Design has been of utmost importance since the thematics rests on that we, through our design process, challenge and place questions for the players.  The result of this project is a board game that isn’t just entertaining, but also puts pressure on the players to think outside of the box, to think of new solutions to traditional problems.A game that with the help of research and robust, iterative, methodology has achieved its purpose and realised the chosen theme.  After all was said and done we could note that the project was not without flaws. Not enough playtesting was one flaw. A sea of different mechanics that maybe did not live up to their full potential was another. But we also found strengths. We’ve got a game that is appreciated and where there is plenty of room for development in a revised edition or maybe even larger expansions. In conclusion, we have a robust design as evidence for robust work around questions of how we can play traditional games in different ways

This exegesis examines my practice through my identity as a Kabi Kabi, Wiradjuri, Kuku Ylandji and Pita Pita woman with English, Scottish and Romany Gypsy heritage. It contextualises the development of my practice from 1997 to 2017, which is the period immediately following my graduation from an undergraduate degree until now. The major focus of the exegesis, however, is on works from the last decade, when self-portraiture became a prominent part of my practice, which I explore through a variety of media: photography, performance, painting, drawing, and sculpture. To contextualise my practice, I also examine contemporary artists who utilise Indigenous frameworks to disrupt the traditions of Western portraiture. My own work uses humour and ideas of performativity as tools to positively intervene into debates about Aboriginal identity. For example, my use of the colour pink can be understood as candy coating a difficult conversation around colonisation. I also reclaim the language of the coloniser through serial portraiture and challenge ideas of Aboriginal femininity. Contributing to identity politics art, I refuse the idea of an essential self through the idea of a performative self-portrait. One of my aims is to reclaim Aboriginal agency and to decolonise the idea of the self.

Life was difficult in Te Wai Pounamu before European contact. Food collecting had to return more calories than were expended in the efforts of acquisition. Areas where food was available were conserved as well as enhanced and were exploited seasonally in such a way as to optimise each season's take. It is suggested that the absence of kumera cultivations south of the Opihi river, prior to the introduction of the potato towards the end of the 18th Century, was clearly reflected in Maori life-style and social structure. Hapu were resource based rather than regional, and the resources of various hapu might be intermingled over a wide area or indeed, in some cases, shared (see: Anderson, 1980). The "orthodox" view (Anderson, 1980, etc.) is one of "Hunters and Gatherers" who exploit available resources. I argue that the resources were, in fact, managed with a view to sustainable and optimal harvests in the future. I shall apply Harris' (1987:75) optimal foraging theory in an endeavour to show that there are signs of the quality of life as a result of a low per capita human energy input into food production. This is principally evidenced by the foods eaten just for pleasure (kai rehia) and the time available for optional activities. Accordingly, kai and the practices to control them differed from the often better documented food resources of more Northern parts of Te Wai Pounamu and Aotearoa. Nevertheless, the absence of horticulture in the south and the concomitant peripatetic life-style did not result in a lack of stewardship of resources. Based substantially on the analysis of a series of mahika kai lists, collected from elders early in the contact period, and details of traditional practices that have been handed down, this thesis argues that by 1780, when Captain Cook introduced European goods, southern Kai Tahu had in place effective procedures and practices for the sustainable use of renewable resources.

Inom intensivvården (IVA) vårdas de mest allvarligt sjuka patienterna vilka ofta har svåra infektioner och ett nedsatt immunförsvar. Detta kan innebära en ökad risk att drabbas av meticillinresistenta stafylokock aureus (MRSA). Smittspridning av MRSA sker främst från sjukvårdspersonalens händer till patienterna. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att beskriva vilka åtgärder sjukvårdspersonalen inom IVA kan vidta för att minimera smittspridning av MRSA. Artiklarnas resultat visade att följsamheten var låg då det gällde att följa riktlinjer för noggrann handhygien. Orsaker till dålig följsamhet kan vara hög arbetsbelastning och bristande kunskap. Det fanns stora skillnader mellan de olika yrkeskategorierna då det gällde att följa riktlinjer för handhygien. Läkarna var de som följde riktlinjerna minst. Den viktigaste åtgärden för att minimera smittspridningen av MRSA är god handhygien och användning av handdesinfektionsmedel. Genom att utbilda sjukvårdspersonalen regelbundet samt ha lättillgängliga riktlinjer kan medvetenheten och kunskapen om MRSA öka. Detta medför troligtvis att personalen genomför adekvata åtgärder för att förhindra smittspridningen av MRSA. Då MRSA är ett ökande problem vore det angeläget att utföra observationsstudier beträffande hygienrutiner på olika intensivvårdsavdelningar i Sverige.

The Swedish government has initiated two municipal reforms in Sweden. During 1952 named “Storkommunsreformen” and during 1962 – 1974 named “Kommunblocksreformen”. Some of municipalities clearly resisted, especialy against municipality reform (Kommunblocksreformen) of 1962-1974. The municipality of Dorotea was forcebly marged together with the municipalities of Fredrika and Åsele in 1974 but regain independence 1980. The purpose of this case study is to investigate Dorotea´s strong resistance agains The Municipality reform (Kommunblocksreformen) during 1961 – 1973. The ambition is to elucidate factors that can explaine why Dorotea, as a municilality, could regain its own independence in 1980. My presumption is that, those factors made Dorotea regain own independence are probably expressed during the negotiations of implementations of the municipality reform (Kommunblocksreformen). Methods of conducting the case study are qualitative text analysis. The result of this investigation shows that the acts of Municipality of Dorotea during the process of implementation generated a behavior of political culture which led to political polarization, especially in the council of Municipality of Dorotea. The political polarization made the citizen of Dorotea to mobilize themselves over a period. This made it possible to surstaine and Dorotea could precerve the resistance from 1961-1980.This kind of management reqired cohesion amamng the politicians who were against the municipality reform (Kommunblocksreformen). This case study shows that some of the politicians were more persistant in their acts than others. By using procedures based on democraticprocess delayed the implementation of the reform.
I Sverige genomfördes två stora kommunsammanläggningar, storkommunsreformen 1952 och kommunblocksreformen 1962 – 1974. En del kommuner protesterade mot sammanläggningarna, framförallt under kommunblocksreformen. Sammanläggningen av kommunerna i Åsele blocket resulterade i stora protester. Dorotea kommun tvångssammanlades under stora protester med Fredrika och Åsele 1974 men återfick sin självständighet 1980. Syftet med fallstudien är att undersöka Doroteas hårda motstånd mot kommunblocksreformen under sammanläggningsperioden 1961–1973. Syftet är också att belysa vilka faktorer som kan bidra till att förklara varför Dorotea kom att återfå sin självständighet som kommun 1980. Mitt grundantagande i uppsatsen är att dessa faktorer, som bidrog till självständigheten, också kom till uttryck i förhandlingarna om kommunblocksreformens genomförande. Metod för undersökningens genomförande är kvalitativ textanalys. Resultat i undersökningen visar att Doroteas handlande utifrån sammanläggningsprocessen gav upphov till utveckling av en politisk kultur som ledde till polarisering, bland annat i kommunfullmäktige. Polariseringen ledde till att invånarna i Dorotea kommun mobiliserade sig över tid. Detta gjorde att de kunde hålla ut under en tjugoårs-period, från 1961 till 1980. För detta krävdes en sammanhållning bland politikerna och undersökningen visar att några individer var mer drivande i sitt beteende och sammanläggningen kom att förhalas, framförallt genom användning av demokratiskt procedurprocess. Doroteas motstånd väcker särskilt intresse med tanke på dagens pågående process om bildande av regionkommuner i Sverige.

During the years 2006-2010 Gotland University conducted seminars excavations in Västergarn parish on Gotland. Inside the wall a total of six house foundations have been found and a total of 127 combs have been registered. This thesis is based on a material study of the 127 registered medieval combs. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the combs and with their chronology illuminate in which period the society of Västergarn was active. And also to find out what the material remains can tell us about the place and its people. The questions concern the dating and chronology of the combs, and also how analyzing the combs can provide additional information to Västergarn. The method used is a comparative material - and literature study. The result of the analyze is that the combs are from the transitional period of the Viking - Medieval age, 900- 1100th century. A variety of nine different types could be distinguished. I believe that through an osteological –, and contextual spatial analysis and a comparative material study of the combs more information on the site can be presented.

This essay use Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffes view on dicourse theory analyses speeches from the Swedish democrats to see how the partie define the swedishness and how the contribute to antagonism during the process. The essay uses chain of equivalences to see how they construct the identity and also uses antagonism to create an understanding for the overtaking in discourse, which is often used by the Swedish democrats to define the identity their way. The theoretical and methodological framework helps the study to clarify what is included and excluded in swedishness. The result in the study is that the Swedish democrats find it crucial to sustain independence, be brave, have Swedish norm, culture and values, and also to create a trustworthy nation where everyone can feel safe. The study also show that the Swedish democrats subjects safety, immigrant and independence for antagonism.

En god arbetsmiljö kan anses vara nyckeln till en välfungerande verksamhet. Arbetsmiljö som begrepp är dock oerhört komplext där många olika problemaspekter samverkar och påverkar arbetsplatsens miljö. Vissa arbetsmiljörelaterade problem kan härröras till egenskaper som inte tillåter individen att utnyttja sina kognitiva förmågor och benämns därmed som kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem. Andra faktorer som tekniska arbetsverktyg som skall vara de anställda behjälpliga, kan i de fall de brister, också påverka och störa tankeprocesserna hos individen. Den här rapportens syfte är att utveckla en förståelse om hur komplexa arbetsmiljöer samt interaktion med teknik kan skapa en stress som i förlängningen kan leda till kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem och teknikstress. En kvalitativ fallstudie utfördes för att få en holistisk överblick över arbetsflödet. Studien genomfördes på en avdelning på ett äldreboende med hjälp av datainsamlingsteknikerna observation och intervju. Resultatet tyder på att kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem och teknikstress är nära sammanlänkande och förutom tidigare identifierade kognitiva arbetsmiljöproblem, framträdde även en ny dimension.

Kali, a senhora da dança-Uma construção dramatúrgica a partir do Yoga tem como resultado um monólogo teatral que utiliza elementos psicofísicos e míticos da cultura hindu e mais especificamente do Yoga como componentes disparadores da criação literária no processo de uma construção dramatúrgica. Kali é uma das principais divindades do Hinduísmo, uma das consortes de Siva, que dentre suas diversas manifestações, apresenta-se como Siva-Nataraja, o Senhor dos dançarinos e dos atores. Ele também representa o Senhor arqui-yoguin, remetendo-o, na tradição mítica, à origem do Yoga. Na linhagemdoTantra-Yoga, Siva é a consciência e Kali é a energia. Juntos, em perfeita harmonia, são os responsáveis pela dança cósmica do homem no mundo. O monólogo teatral, utilizando-se de várias vozes que expressam o "Si" da personagem Kali, reconstrói o seu mito, tornando-a Senhora da dança , numa metáfora clara que alude diretamente aos elementos coreográficos executados em práticas arcaicas do Yoga e a todo referencial narrativo e iconográfico que envolve o mito. Fazendo uso do estilo dramatúrgico do Drama Lírico; exercitando o laboratório prático e o estudo sistemático dos elementos do Yoga; e abordando o percurso das escrituras sagradas, a partir do exame das obras clássicas e de importantes indólogos como Mircea Eliade, Heinrich Zimmer e Jonh Woodroffe, a pesquisa traz como encenação, a feitura do texto dramatúrgico Kali, a senhora da dança e no decorrer da dissertação são apresentadas as fundamentações de todo processo criativo.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att designa en ny serie till Nibes befintliga varumärke Contura. Nibe beskriver Conturas formspråk som rent, enkelt och feminint.

Undersökningar om vad feminint formspråk betyder resulterade i en diskussion om att främst designers och formgivare ej bör använda sig av orden feminint-/kvinnligt formspråk då dessa ord stärker stereotypen om vad kvinnligt respektive manligt är.

Under researchdelen var en infallsvinkel att tiden i framtiden kommer att vara än mer viktig. Att människor, främst i västvärlden, kommer vilja ha mer tid utöver arbetet. Att få mer tid till att vara hemma resulterar i mer fokus på bostäders utformande då den boende vill ha ett trivsamt och personligt hem att vistas i. Utformningen av kaminen och andra produkter till hemmen blir viktiga då de får mer tid att betraktas av den/de boende. Kaminen ska kunna gå att köpas i olika utföranden och placeringsmöjligheter då köparen vill ha en kamin som passar dess hem och person.

En stor del av upplevelsen av kaminen är elden. Att kunna se elden är en viktig del av kaminens utformande. Kaminen som designats i detta examensarbete har därför ett stort frontglas i luckan och sidoglas på sidan av kaminen.

Efter att ha studerat andra kaminer på marknaden så upptäckte jag att många kaminer såg ganska lika ut och de flesta, om inte alla, var stela i sin design med ett statiskt, hårt och kallt uttryck. För att tillföra något nytt på marknaden bestämdes att kaminen som skulle tas fram under examensarbetet skulle få en mer varm och mjuk design.

Tankarna, diskussionerna och researchen resulterade i en konad kamin med mindre botten-area och större topp-area, båda med formen av en superellips.

Efter vidare samtal med Nibe kom kaminen att bli helt rak (fortfarande baserad på superellipsen) vilket betydde att kaminens utformning tog ett steg tillbaka mot statiskheten. För att jobba bort det statiska uttrycket i kaminen så var det viktigt att jobba mer med delningslinjer och detaljer för att få kaminen att kännas mer varm och mjuk.

Försvarsmaktens definitioner av olika förmågor är inte tillräckligt preciserade. Förmågorna beskrivs i dagsläget av Försvarsmakten på ett otydligt sätt där missförstånd kan uppstå. En analysmodell har tidigare utvecklats för att lösa detta problem. Analysmodellen är uppbyggd för att kringgå det problemet då faktorerna som vävs in har en direkt anknytning till verkligheten och de scenarion förbanden kan ställas inför. Faktorerna miljö, motståndaren och effekt utkristalliseras utefter förmågan och scenarion bildas. Eftersom modellen är relativt ny kommer det i denna uppsats behandla och kritisera denna. Modellen byggs upp och testas genom en analys av Amfibiebataljon 2014. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka styrkor och svagheter med en analysmodell för att bättre bedöma marina förmågor. Resultatet är att analysmodellen ger en bra inblick i hur väl förmågor hanteras av förband. Nackdelen är främst det stora utfallet av scenarier vilken medför att modellen lätt blir svårhanterlig. Åtgärden mot detta är att generalisera de ingående faktorerna.
The Swedish Armed Forces definitions of various abilities are not sufficiently precise. In the current situation, the abilities are described in a vague way in which misunderstandings can occur. An analytical model was previously developed in a previous essay. The model is structured to circumvent the problem of the factors that are interwoven with a direct connection to the realities and scenarios troops may face. Environmental factors, the adversary and effects emerge along ability and the formation of scenarios. Because the model is relatively new, this paper will criticize it. The model is built and tested by an analysis of the Amphibious Battalion 2014. The purpose of this paper is to examine the strengths and weaknesses with an analytical model to better assess marine abilities. The result is that the analytical model gives a good insight into how well the abilities of units handled. The disadvantages are primarily the major outcomes of the scenarios which means that the model can easily become unmanageable. The measure against this is to generalize the input factors.

A produção de caqui no estado de São Paulo vem aumentando, sendo o seu cultivo uma boa alternativa para a diversificação de plantas frutíferas pelos produtores. O conhecimento sobre a fenologia e fixação de frutos das principais cultivares de caquizeiros em clima subtropical é de grande importância para o desenvolvimento de práticas culturais que visam uma boa produção, uma vez que em clima temperado a produção é instável pelas altas quedas fisiológicas de flores e frutos. Para isso avaliou-se o acúmulo de graus-dia em diferentes fases fenológicas das principais cultivares plantadas em São Paulo, em clima Cwa, e o efeito da aplicação de ácido giberélico na fixação dos frutos. Para atingir o ponto de colheita, a cultivar Fuyu necessita, após a poda, um acúmulo de 3650 graus-dia, Giombo e Rama-Forte 4559 graus-dia e Taubaté 4280 graus-dia. A queda fisiológica de frutos das quatro cultivares ocorre em até três meses após a antese, com o acúmulo médio de 2074 graus-dia. No período de queda fisiológica, para as quatro cultivares, há dois picos acentuados de abscisão de frutos, o primeiro após a queda de pétalas, com 298 graus-dia e o segundo 50 dias após a antese, com 913 graus-dia. A aplicação exógena de ácido giberélico incrementa a fixação de frutos de caqui nas cultivares Fuyu, Giombo, Rama-Forte e Taubaté, quando há ensacamento de flores. Para as cultivares Fuyu, Giombo e Rama-Forte a aplicação de 100 mg L-1 de ácido giberélico na florada, aumenta a fixação dos frutos em mais de 20%. Para a cultivar Taubaté a aplicação de 300 mg L-1 de ácido giberélico incrementa a fixação em mais de 30%.
The production of persimmon in the Brazilian state of São Paulo is increasing, as its cultivation is a good alternative for the diversification of fruit plants for farmers. The knowledge about the phenology and fruit set of the main persimmon cultivars in subtropical climates is of great importance to the development of agricultural practices aiming for a good production, as in temperate climates the production is instable due to the large physiological flower and fruit drop. Therefore, the accumulation of degree-days in different phenological phases of the main cultivars planted in São Paulo state, in a Cwa climate, was evaluated, as well as the effect of applying gibberellic acid on the fruit set. To reach the point of harvest, the cultivar Fuyu requires 3650 degree-days after pruning, Giombo and Rama-Forte 4559 degree-days and Taubaté 4280 degree-days. The phenological fruit drop of the four cultivars occurs up to three months after the anthesis, with a mean of 2074 degree-days. In the period of physiological fruit drop of the four cultivars, there are two accentuated peaks of fruit abscission, the first after the drop of petals, with 298 degree-days and the second 50 days after the anthesis, with 913 degree-days. The exogenous application of gibberellic acid increases the fruit set of the persimmons for the cultivars Fuyu, Giombo, Rama-Forte and Taubaté, with flowers being bagged. For the cultivars Fuyu, Giombo and Rama-Forte the application of 100 mg L-1 of gibberellic acid during blooming, increases the fruit set by more than 20%. For the cultivar Taubaté the application of 300 mg L-1 of gibberellic acid increases the fruit set by more than 30%.

Aiming to understand the mechanism of ripening of the Fuyu persimmon and extend the storage period, experiments were preformed to evaluate the effect of the period of exposure to low temperature, controlled atmosphere and inhibitor the ethylene action in the beginning or in the end of storage period on the incidence of softening. In the first experiment following treatments were evaluated: [1] 3 days at -0.5°C; [2] 6 days at -0.5°C; [3] 9 days at -0.5°C; [4] 6 days at 10°C; [5] 9 days at 10°C; [6] 15 days at 10°C; [7] 9 days at 15°C and [8] 15 days at 15°C. In the second experiment treatments were obtained by combining the temperature (-0.5; 10; 12.5; 15 e 17.5°C) with and without application of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), before storage. The laboratory tests were performed after 1 and 2 months storage. In the third experiment at -0.5ºC were evaluated the treatments: [1] cold storage(CS), [2] application of 1ppm of 1-MCP and subsequent CS, [3] CS and subsequent application of 1-MCP, [4] controlled atmosphere (CA) with 1.0kPa O2 + 8.0kPa CO2, [5] application of 1-MCP and subsequent storage in CA, [6] CA storage and subsequent application of 1-MCP. The laboratory tests were performed after 2 months in fruits storage in CS and after 4 months in fruits storage in CA. According to the results of the experiments the period of 9 days at -0.5ºC does not provide sufficient cooling to stimulate the maturation process of persimmon, do not altering the production of ethylene, respiration and softening of the fruit when compared with 15ºC. The storage of Fuyu persimmon for one month at -0.5ºC is sufficient to stimulate the maturation process, with 100% fruit softened after 6 days at 20°C. Already, storage for two months at -0.5°C accelerates the maturation process and leaving 100% fruit soft after 4 days at 20°C. At the temperatures of 10, 12.5 and 15°C occurred softening of fruit during storage, showing that these temperatures for long periods, are also efficient in the unlock process of maturation. The softening is related with the ethylene action and probably with its receptor. The application of 1-MCP before or after storage block the maturation process even in fruit exposed at -0.5°C, not occurring softening after exposure at 20°C. Controlled atmosphere delayed the softening. CA condition with 1.0kPa O2 + 8.0kPa CO2 with application of 1-MCP was the most efficient treatment to control the maturation, but occurred high incidence of decay after 4 months storage of Fuyu persimmon.
Objetivando compreender o processo de amadurecimento do caqui Fuyu e prolongar o armazenamento foram conduzidos experimentos para avaliar o efeito do período de exposição à baixa temperatura, atmosfera controlada e aplicação de inibidor da ação do etileno em dois momentos, no início e no final do armazenamento, sobre o amolecimento, analisados visualmente. No primeiro experimento avaliou-se: [1] 3 dias na temperatura de -0,5°C; [2] 6 dias na temperatura de -0,5°C; [3] 9 dias na temperatura de -0,5°C; [4] 6 dias na temperatura de 10°C; [5] 9 dias na temperatura de 10°C; [6] 15 dias na temperatura de 10°C; [7] 9 dias na temperatura de 15°C e [8] 15 dias na temperatura de 15°C. No segundo experimento, os tratamentos foram originados da combinação de temperaturas (-0,5; 10; 12,5; 15 e 17,5°C) com e sem aplicação de 1-metilciclopropeno (1-MCP), antes do armazenamento. As análises laboratoriais foram realizadas após 1 e 2 meses de armazenamento. No terceiro experimento, na temperatura de -0,5ºC foram avaliados os seguintes tratamentos: [1] AR; [2] aplicação de 1ppm de 1-MCP durante 24h e posterior AR; [3] AR e posterior aplicação de 1ppm de 1-MCP durante 24h; [4] atmosfera controlada (AC) com 1,0kPa de O2 + 8,0kPa de CO2; [5] aplicação de 1ppm de 1-MCP 24h e posterior armazenamento em AC; [6] armazenamento em AC e posterior aplicação de 1ppm de 1-MCP. As análises laboratoriais foram realizadas após 2 meses nos frutos armazenados em AR e após 4 meses nos frutos armazenamentos em AC. Segundo os resultados dos experimentos, o período de 9 dias na temperatura de -0,5ºC não fornece frio suficiente para estimular o processo de maturação do caqui, não alterando a produção de etileno, a respiração e o amolecimento dos frutos em relação a 15ºC. O armazenamento de caqui por um mês na temperatura de -0,5ºC é suficiente para estimular o processo de maturação, com 100% dos frutos amolecidos aos 6 dias de exposição a 20ºC. Já, o armazenamento por dois meses na temperatura de -0,5ºC torna 100% dos frutos amolecidos aos 4 dias de exposição a 20ºC. As temperaturas de 10; 12,5 e 15ºC ocasionam amolecimento dos frutos durante o armazenamento, o que indica que essas temperaturas por longo período de tempo também são eficientes no desbloqueio da maturação. O amolecimento tem relação com a ação do etileno e, mais provavelmente, com o seu receptor. A aplicação de 1-MCP, antes ou após o armazenamento, bloqueia o processo de maturação, mesmo em frutos expostos ao frio de -0,5°C, evitando o amolecimento do caqui após exposição a 20ºC. A atmosfera controlada retardou o amolecimento, sendo que a condição de AC de 1,0kPa de O2 + 8,0Pa de CO2 com aplicação de 1-MCP foi a condição mais eficiente no controle da maturação, mas ocorreu alta incidência de podridão após 4 meses de armazenamento.

The goal of this essay is to study the effect Youtube’s system and guidelines has had on history channels and to reflect upon the potential consequences it may have on the history community on the site. This is a current problem that has affected many history channels over the years and that may cause more problems for other channels in the future. My essay will not only provide the reader a better understanding about the problems between Youtube and history channels, but also give the reader a better understanding of the consequences this conflict may have on future generations and their access to historical storytelling on the site. The result of this essay shows that the host of each channel has their own motive and method for producing their own videos and the decisions they make affect whether their video receives positive or negative feedback on the site. Some channels work hard to make their videos available to their viewers and avoid trying to add content that may be sensitive. Others try to make more authentic and entertaining videos which may more than often include sensitive content that leads to more problems for these channels. The channels who don’t encounter these problems as often as others choose to not help nor recognise these channels and their struggles. Channels that do encounter these problems more often point to Youtube as the problem and often use the word censorship as a reasoning for why their content gets in trouble. The choices made on both sides at the moment may affect the future of historical storytelling on the site.
