Currently, computer simulation in virtual reality systems has a special status. In order for a computer model to meet the requirements of the tasks it models, it is necessary that the mathematical apparatus correctly describe the simulated phenomena. In this monograph, the simulation of pursuit problems is carried out. An adaptive modeling of the behavior of both pursuers and targets is carried out. An iterative calculation of the trajectories of the participants in the pursuit problem is carried out. The main attention is paid to the methods of pursuit and parallel rendezvous. These methods are taken as the basis of the study and are modified in the future. The scientific novelty of the study is the iterative calculation of the trajectories of the participants in the pursuit task when moving at a constant speed, while following the predicted trajectories. The predicted trajectories form a one-parameter network of continuous lines of the first order of smoothness. The predicted trajectories are calculated taking into account the restrictions on the curvature of the participant in the pursuit problem. The fact of restrictions on curvature can be interpreted as restrictions on the angular frequency of rotation of the object of the pursuit problem. Also, the novelty is the calculation of the iterative process of group pursuit of multiple targets, when targets are hit simultaneously or at specified intervals. The calculation of the parameters of the network of predicted trajectories is carried out with a curvature variation in order to achieve the desired temporal effect. The work also simulates the adaptive behavior of the pursuer and the target. The principle of behavior can be expressed on the example of a pursuer with a simple phrase: "You go to the left - I go to the left." This happens at each iteration step in terms of choosing the direction of rotation. For the purpose, the principle of adaptive behavior is expressed by the phrase: "You go to the left - I go to the right." The studies, algorithms and models presented in the monograph can be in demand in the design of autonomously controlled unmanned aerial vehicles with elements of artificial intelligence. The task models in the monograph are supplemented with many animated images, where you can see the research process. Also, the tasks have an implementation in a computer mathematics system and can be transferred to virtual reality systems if necessary.

Women were involved in the economic productivity of their households, whether as managers of slaves and freedpeople or as laborers themselves—and, often, as both. They were often responsible for managing a child’s education and rearing alongside these other tasks. In addition, many women also worked in business or had various jobs, either as free or freedwomen or as slaves. They were less likely than men to hold high managerial posts or political offices. Nevertheless, they performed valuable labor. The chapter explores motherhood and household management, along with women’s jobs in business (production and retail) and entertainment. It also assesses similar evidence from the New Testament of women’s occupations.

Collisions of birds with human artefacts (power lines, wind turbines, glass sheets, etc.) are major source of bird mortality. Many birds are also killed by entrapment in fishing nets. A sensory ecology perspective on this problem shows that collision and entrapment occur because these hazards present perceptual tasks that are beyond the capacities of the birds; birds are carrying out tasks where a hazard would not be predicted; or birds perceive the hazard but make an inappropriate categorical response. Birds that fly into power lines and turbines may be simply not looking ahead or are flying in conditions in which their resolution is very low. Reducing collisions requires far more than attempting to make hazards more conspicuous to humans. It requires recognition of the birds’ perceptual limitations and their distraction away from hazard sites. This requires taking account of the particular ecological requirements and sensory capacities of each target species.

Designing partnerships for success is challenging. Many partnerships succumb to collaborative inertia; that is, they experience slow progress or truncate their efforts without any tangible outcomes. Factors that contribute to such inertia include distrust, framing conflicts, identity, process, and power differences. This chapter identifies several important process design issues that partnership leaders need to consider. Eight critical tasks that interveners can undertake to shift these forces in positive directions are introduced: Convening, managing the process, visioning, intervening in large groups, conflict handling, visioning to facilitate partners’ learning, gaining buy-in back home, and institution building. Detailed advice is offered for how partners should engage in each of these tasks to steer partnerships in positive directions. Factors that motivate and block collaborative efforts at each of four phases in a partnership’s life cycle are also explored and their appropriateness for each phase of a partnership’s life cycle is assessed.

Their personal servants not only managed their private affairs but also assisted them in governmental duties. Many of their posts, especially those in local government, had to be exercised by deputy. Henry encouraged them to build up licensed retinues of military and political followers, and a list of Sir Thomas Lovell’s enables its membership to be reconstructed in detail, showing how his power spread deep into society in many parts of England. Those of Empson and Dudley can be analysed more sketchily using evidence produced at their trials.

Making music is one of the most demanding tasks for the human central nervous system. It involves the precise execution of very fast and, in many instances, extremely complex physical movements that must be coordinated with continuous auditory feedback. Practice is required to develop these skills and carry out these complex tasks. This article discusses the neurobiological foundations of planning, motor learning, and practice. The first section introduces essential general information for musical readers concerning the organization of cortical, subcortical, and cerebellar motor systems in the brain. The second section addresses the brain processes during acquisition of skilled movements in music making and demonstrates the dynamics of neuronal networks. The third section reports new findings on practice strategies and performance quality. The fourth section presents the causes of degradation of skilled movements in professional musicians. The article concludes with some comments concerning the significance of results of brain research in order to improve practice habits and performance in musicians.
