Terapevtski model odpuščanja poskuša odpraviti vlogo jezne žrtve in vsebuje dva koraka: razgradnjo jeze oziroma zdravljenje krivice ter sočutje do storilca. Koraka sta med seboj povezana s tremi pogoji: spomin na lastno krivičnost, izkušnja odpuščanja ter spoznanje o viru dobrega.

Apologies play an important role in forgiveness, but the pathway from apology to forgiveness is unclear. Many researchers use Goffman’s model of the corrective interchange, or models derived from it to guide their research. This model is based on the assumption that offenders apologise to victims who accept these apologies and that this leads to forgiveness. The acceptance of the apology is therefore central in this model, so we undertook a systematic literature review to determine how researchers conceptualise and measure apology acceptance and found a lack of clarity around the construct. Injury anxiety and forgiveness flexibility levels were compared in terms of gender, the status of being a national athlete, injury history, and frequency of training. Method: In line with the purpose of the research, it is descriptive research in which the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, is used. With this method, it is used to grasp and explain the relationship between various variables without any attempt to change th

The model for representing intergroup forgiveness suggested by Neto, Pinto & Mullet (2007a) has been extended through the examination of data from a large sample (n = 1036) of Asian (Cambodians and East Timorese) and African (Angolans, Guineans and Mozambicans) adults who have been personally affected by long-term wars and conflicts in their area. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that a nine-factor model could adequately fit the whole set of data. Overall, a large majority of the participants agreed with the view that forgiveness as an intergroup process was conceivable.

Children’s ability to forgive affects their social relationships and is connected to the development of their social skills and their emotional health. This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a six-session psychoeducational program designed to enhance forgiveness in children aged 9 to 12. Sixty-seven children (intervention group: n = 30 and control group: n = 37) participated in the study, completing: (a) Enright Forgiveness Inventory for Children (Enright 2000); (b) Behavioral Anger Response Questionnaire (Miers et al., 2007), (c) Bryant Empathy Index for Children and Αdolesce

The present study was aimed to explore the impact of gratitude and forgiveness in predicting subjective well-being in young adults. The sample for the study included 300 participants between the ages of 18 and 24 years who were conveniently selected from a university in Karachi city. Gratitude Questionnaire (McCullough et al., 2002), Heartland Forgiveness Scale (Thompson et al., 2005) and Flourishing Scale (Diener et al., 2010) were used as the measures to collect data. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed gratitude to be nonsignificant predictor of subjective well-being, whereas, forg

Abstract Data was collected from older male offenders (N = 86 non-violent; N = 163 violent) incarcerated in Oklahoma. Testing a forgiveness model, positive evaluation of life PVOL was regressed on religiosity (REL) and forgiveness of self (FSelf), others (FOthers), and situation (FSit) using hierarchical OLS regression. Blocks of predictors included: a) age and education; b) religiosity; and c) FSelf, FOthers, and FSit. For the non-violent model of PVOL significant predictors included REL (β = .26, p ≤ .01) and FSelf (β = .40, p ≤ .01). For the violent offender model of PVOL significant predic

Two studies were conducted to test a conceptual model that expands upon the roles of attribution and forgiveness after a partner’s infidelity by integrating concepts from social network approval and attribution information selection (AIS) to examine how noninvolved partners in dating relationships decide to stay in or leave their relationships. Using a serial mediation model, we examined whether perceived social network approval was indirectly related to noninvolved partners’ relationship decisions sequentially through AIS, attributions, and forgiveness after a hypothetical infidelity (Study 1

The aim of this article is to develop a forgiveness-based peace education model to increase resilience. Peace Education is the process of obtaining values, knowledge and developing attitudes, skills and behavior to live in harmony with oneself, with others, and with the natural environment. In a positive psychology perspective, forgiveness is an effort to become an afterthought and practice to reconcile the soul in the digital era. While resilience is an individual's ability to remain able to survive and remain psychologically stable and healthy after going through traumatic events. Mea

Social media users can easily be offended or hurt on those platforms, which leads to discomfort and health issues such as stress and anxiety. Forgiveness plays an important role to maintain healthy online relationships, which is the central constituent of social dynamics, from cooperation to social cohesion. While most prior studies have focused on analyzing forgiveness factors in offline settings using statistical methods, this study offers a new perspective using a two-staged approach whereby a research model was tested using structural equation modeling (SEM), and then the results were used

AbstractMcCullough et al. recognize that revenge and forgiveness jointly constitute a functional strategic complex. However, they model the halves of the complex as outputs of modules selected for regulating dyadic relationships. This is backwards. Forgiveness is a culturally evolved institution that can be exapted for use in dyadic contexts; it would be cheap talk among dyads were it not for the shadow of society.

AbstractMcCullough et al. hypothesize that evolution has selected mechanisms for revenge to deter harms and for forgiveness to preserve valuable relationships. However, in highly dependent relationships, the more adaptive course of action may be to remain unaware of the initial harm rather than risk alienating a needed other. We present a testable model of possible victim responses to interrelational harm.
