Introduction: Aberrant frenum in patients with orthodontic appliances installation often causes aesthetic problems and interferes with the movement of teeth during orthodontic activation, especially in cases of midline diastema which often causes relapse of the teeth. Frenectomy one hemostat technique treatment is carried out in this case. Case: A 23-years-old female patient came to the periodontology department of RSGM Saraswati and was referred from the orthodontics department for frenectomy. On examination, it was found that the patient had a high frenum and fibrous tissue in the maxillary

The orthodontic treatment is a favouring factor for the appearance of gingival recession, especially when the teeth are moved toward buccal direction. The purpose of this study is to compare periodontal clinical parameters in patients with gingival recession following fixed orthodontic therapy, treated through two different surgical techniques: free gingival graft (FGG) and connective tissue graft with coronary advanced flap (CTG+CAF), using in both techniques a non-eugenol periodontal dressing. The study is comprised of 12 patients that have previously undertaken fixed orthodontic treatment.

This report describes the case of an 8-year-old boy that was referred to endodontic and orthodontic treatment after suffering an injury that led to intrusion of the maxillary right permanent central incisor, palatal displacement of the upper right lateral incisor, and root fracture of both central incisors. Both injured teeth were immature and had open apices. The intruded tooth was repositioned by endodontic and orthodontic management. Endodontic therapy was performed in both teeth with periodical changes of calcium-hydroxide-based paste as root canal dressing and introduction of MTA as an ap

Objectives: One of the most challenging orthodontic treatments is displaced and impacted canines palatally displaced canines (PDC/PIC). The aim of this study was, therefore, to assess what postgraduate students are taught about PDC and PIC during their postgraduate orthodontic training (POT) in Europe. Materials and Methods: A digital survey containing 22 questions was sent to 164 POT programs in 28 European countries. Questions were asked about which interceptive and surgical treatments are taught, the advantages of different surgical procedures, and what dressing materials and X-rays are use

Abstract A case is reported in which an intruded incisor was initially treated by an endodontic dressing with calcium hydroxide and then extruded using a removable orthodontic appliance. A follow-up examination seven years after completion of endodontic therapy and bleaching showed a favourable response. A review of the relevant literature indicates that intrusion occurs in five to twelve per cent of luxation cases. In this type of injury maximum damage occurs to the pulp and all supporting structures because the tooth is driven into the alveolar process. Complications which have been reported

Post-trauma treatment comprised cervical pulpotomy and adhesive tooth fragment reattachment. After 1 year, clinical and radiograph examinations showed pulp necrosis and an associated periapical lesion. Summary. It is important to solve the problem of complex treatment and prevention of periodontal diseases in orthodontic patients by developing new drugs that have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects and are included in effective treatment regimens. Orthodontic treatment with fixed orthodontic appliances contributes to a significant decrease in the level of individual oral hygiene against the background of oxidative stress. Therefore, the aggressiveness of periodontal pathogenic microflora increases, which contributes to the deepening of the inflammatory process in the tissue
