Alpine and sub-alpine regions were long considered free of Phytophthora species, especially Phytophthora cinnamomi due to restrictions on their growth from low temperatures. Contextualización: el cacao en Colombia es un cultivo de relevancia no solo por su factor económico, sino por su entorno social y ambiental.
