In millennial era like now, we often encounter deviant behavior, the culprits are teenagers. They consider deviant behavior carried out as a natural thing and can even be a pride for the perpetrators. Meanwhile, deviant behavior violates the norms that exist in society. Therefore family parenting is very influential on the process of forming and developing the child's personality, attitudes, and character in the future. Proper parenting in the family can be a strong foundation in building children's behavior so as not to deviate. This study aims to explain the effect of parenting on deviant behavior in adolescence. This study uses the results of studies from journals that are collected and then described and analyzed. The conclusion of this study is that authoritative parenting is ideal because parents are willing to listen and consider the point of view of children so that children with parenting will tend to be responsible and socially competent.

The article is devoted to the study of the correlation between various types of socially dangerous behavior of students and their emotional intelligence in adolescence. The relevance of this study depends on the growing problem of ensuring security in educational institutions, which is confirmed by the annual tragic events committed by students in Russian schools and colleges. The purpose of the study is to test the correlation between the propensity of adolescents for various types of socially dangerous behavior and their emotional intelligence. The theoretical basis of the study was the modern data of Russian and foreign scientists on the connection of aggressive, deviant, victim behavior with various manifestations of emotional intelligence. The empirical study was conducted in 2020 to test the assumption that a low level of emotional intelligence development is a predictor of various forms of deviant behavior of adolescent students. The sample consisted of 793 adolescents at the age of 13-15. The method of organizing the study is a mass screening examination. Data collection was conducted using the inventory “Propensity to deviant behavior” by Leus E.V. and Solovyov A.G. and the “Questionnaire on emotional intellect Emin” by Lusin D.V. The obtained results allowed us to characterize the propensity of adolescents of the studied sample to the main types of socially dangerous behavior (delinquent, aggressive, self-injurious, etc.) and showed that more than a third of students have a low level of emotional intelligence. A reliable feedback relationship has been established between the tendency to deviant behavior and emotional intelligence: the lower its level in adolescent students, the higher their tendency to the studied types of socially dangerous behavior.

The thesis about the formation of deviant identity through selective negative and aggressive identifications with significant parental figures is put forward. The problems of interdisciplinary dissociation and linear functionalism of deviantological knowledge are emphasized. The challenges of the time are described, and the prospects for development are determined.

The paper focuses on factors influencing deviant behaviour in adolescents and presents outcomes of a study that involved 60 adolescents from a youth detention center and 60 school students aged 15 years. Functional asymmetry of the brain is one of the key integrative features in the brain organization that plays an important role in personality development and, for instance, in the development of personality traits associated with delinquency. We explored time perspective and personality traits of the adolescent subjects as well as their inclination towards various forms of deviant behaviour and the levels of neurotisation and psychopathisation and found significant correlations between deviant behavior and personality traits determined by functional brain asymmetry. As we show, the specifics of the lateral organization of mental processes determines the specifics of time orientation in the adolescents, which, in turn, affects the individual’s behavioural regulation in situations of social orientation and promotes either socially accepted or deviant behaviour.Such studies open up possibilities for a better understanding of deviant behaviour as well as for its prevention and early interventions.

In modern Russia, the problem of countering socially dangerous manifestations acts as a national project that proclaims the right of citizens to safe living conditions. Much attention is paid to the ability of law enforcement officers to resist criminal expansion legally, to be able to protect themselves and others by means of legal use of force against persons who commit socially dangerous encroachments. Guided by the concept of deviance, the authors made an attempt to analyze the problem of lawful behavior by law enforcement officers, primarily police officers. The researchers came to a reasonable conclusion about the need to adjust the current state of affairs. The legislation and the practice of its application cannot satisfy the interests of representatives of law enforcement agencies engaged in official activities for the protection of public order and ensuring of public safety. Imperfect legislation is the main reason of deviant behavior of police officers who are in permanent stress situations. Their abundance also provokes deviant behavior of police officers, which sometimes manifests itself in extreme brutality towards lawbreakers. From our point of view, the current norms of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, primarily the norms of Chapter 8, are not clear enough. Moreover, their legislative wording is far from being perfect and gives the opportunity to shift the blame for causing harm to persons who do it in circumstances that exclude the criminality of the act. The proposed careful adjustment of the norms of criminal legislation will significantly increase the effectiveness of their practical implementation, instill confidence in the consciousness of police officers about the importance and possibility of offensive legitimate steps to influence crime, as well as to increase their legal protection.

Conducted through qualitative method, such systematic approach was chosen because it was in line with the concept and scope of the problems related to issues, data or information on particular facts and events. The results of this study demonstrated that any behavior that was contrary with the expectations of society or did not conform to social norms and values were called as deviant behaviors. Currently, LGBT phenomena in Indonesia are still considered deviant and do not follow dominant norms in society. Phenomenon focuses its intervention on the process of interaction among well-beings and their environment, using theories of behavioral deviance in use, as tools or ways to govern the behaviors of community members to meet the norms and values in society. The findings of the present study revealed that LGBT has impacts on health, social, education, and also the security in society. Moreover, LGBT seen from the sociology of structural functionalism is kind of deviation because it is contrary to socially human nature and also contrary to the dominant values and norms in society.

Relevance of current research is determined by insufficient focus on the prevention of deviant economic socialization in children and adolescents in the conditions of high uncertainty of socio-economic prospects for Russian society and high risks of economic shocks. Objective. To justify the importance of prevention of deviant economic identity at the stage of formation of the “economic ethos of culture” in the senior preschool age and the subsequent “technological ethos of culture” in primary school age and adolescence and to determine the main directions of prevention. Method. Theoretical and methodological analysis, comparative and critical analysis, as means of clarifying the concept of “deviant economic identity” and defining its place in the context of such close concepts as “economic socialization,” “economic deviance,” “professional identity” etc.. Results. The concept of “deviant economic identity” is clarified. It is understood as the association of a person not only with a given economic activity or specific professionals (as role models to follow), but also with values and ideological positions underlying such activities. The “paradoxicality” of deviance can be a discrepancy between the norms of a particular society and general cultural norms, as well as the discrepancy between the generally accepted ideas about deviance and ideas about the deviance by the particular individual or group (at the level of families, collectives), which often provokes an identity crisis. Conclusions. Psychological and educational work with children and adolescents in order to prevent deviant economic identity is especially important because of the susceptibility of this age to socially dubious variants of economic relations and weak propaganda of worthy examples of economic behavior in the society. The article highlights the psychological and pedagogical conditions for the emergence, development and prevention of deviant economic identity in children and adolescents, which can be used in the psychological practice, associated not only with an orientation towards established values, but also with the culture (method) of the search for these values.

Introduction. The difficultly predictable socio-economic and socio-moral difficulties of modern society at the stage in the development of our society have exacerbated the problem of upbringing and formation of adolescents, which negatively affects the process of their adaptation and socialization. This issue is addressed at different levels: legal, medical, psychological, social. Theoretical justification In adolescence, identity goes through a phase of formation, being in the zone of proximal mental development. Identity and identification are important characteristics of self-awareness. Timely identification of identification disorders makes it possible to detect deviations in the formation of identity in adolescents, which is extremely important both for diagnosing the personality of adolescents with deviant behavior and for their correction. Results. The problem of the formation of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior puts before the authors of the article the need to search for directed and indirect technologies for working with adolescents, taking into account the characteristics of their personality. The authors proved the difference in the social identity of adolescents with normalized behavior and adolescents with deviant behavior and identified the features of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior, having received a qualitative assessment after using diagnostic methods and analysis of the data obtained. The discussion of the results. The analysis of psychological and pedagogical technologies for the formation of the social identity of adolescents with deviant behavior has shown the possibility of using patterns of successful, socially approved behavior for various aspects of adolescent life.

The study of the deviant behavior of adolescents from different cultures allows us to identify cultural differences in their psychological characteristics, as well as to determine the development tendencies of adolescents with deviant behavior. Deviant behavior of adolescents should be viewed as a social intercultural phenomenon. The formation of deviations in the sociocultural behavior of a teenager, on the one hand, can lead to destructive behavior, on the other hand, it allows teenagers to realize their innovative potential and reach a new level of their own development. Results of the research: in the opinion of the authors, the revealed high indicators on the scale of lies of Uzbek adolescents, which represent the reluctance of respondents to socially desirable answers, are interesting. This reflects the specifics of their real thinking and behavior. They have a heightened standard of moral judgment, as well as a special way of perceiving social norms. Emotionally focused coping strategies prevail among Russian adolescents in resolving conflict situations, while among Uzbek adolescents the strategy of avoidance prevails. Practical significance: The development of a psychological and pedagogical program for working with adolescents, prone to deviant behavior, will help to improve the quality of communication with them, and as a result – to improve the psychological climate in families and school collectives, reduce the level of xenophobic attitudes, increase the level of awareness and competence of parents and teachers in understanding the genesis of deviant behavior and ways to prevent it.

SUMMARY In 2011, the Québec government launched the Charbonneau Commission, a monumental public inquiry tasked with getting to the bottom of a major collusion and corruption scandal involving elected officials, municipal employees, and construction industry contractors. The scandal concerned the awarding of municipal contracts that led to a significant waste of public funds. Yet, at the time, all municipal sector organizations involved were regulated by several controls, particularly in the granting of public contracts. How could the situation deteriorate to the point where collusion became the “usual” way of managing public contracts, particularly in the City of Montréal? The objective of this article is to better understand how deviance became the “norm,” such that the social actors involved came to adopt a deviant identity rather than obeying socially accepted rules. Conceptually inspired by the work of Becker (1963), Foucault (1977), and Giddens (1991), this article is based on the in-depth testimonies of two key actors in the collusion scheme. Our aim is to better understand the process leading to the adoption of deviant behavior and the often illusory character of organizational and regulatory controls.

Abstract. The present study focused on personality characteristics in adolescent boys (n = 414) and girls (n = 552) in 8th grade with self-reported violent behavior and risky alcohol use. Adolescents with indications of violent behavior and/or risky alcohol use, compared to others, were generally more impulsive, had a stronger need for change and action, were less adjusted and socially conforming, as well as more aggressive. The findings pointed toward a clustering of problem behaviors. Furthermore, adolescents with a combination of violent behavior and alcohol use had more pronounced personality scores than subjects who reported only one of these behaviors. The main finding was that among girls these behaviors appeared to be associated with more deviant levels of the personality characteristics in focus.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between diminished employee well-being and interpersonal deviance. Design/methodology/approach In a survey, 380 employees from 107 organizations were asked about their psychological and social well-beings. Participants reported their experiences of irritation, depression and anxiety for psychological well-being. A modified scale of social well-being captured participants’ scores on social integration and social acceptance. Respondents also self-reported incidents of interpersonal deviance against coworkers. Findings The results demonstrate that only irritation, not depression or anxiety, was positively related to interpersonal deviance. Socially accepting individuals were less likely to engage in deviant acts against their coworkers. Furthermore, respondents scoring high on both neuroticism and depression were reporting more acts of interpersonal deviance. Research limitations/implications Based on these findings, the role of intent in the study of workplace deviance is discussed. Practical implications The findings of this study suggest that diminished well-being can be a catalyst for other negative outcomes in the workplace. Management should be concerned with the affective state of employees as the experiences of one person may translate into experiences for others. Given the complexity of human experiences, decision makers in organizations should consider emotional state and experiences in developing practices for deviance prevention. Attention and intervention initiatives devoted to improving well-being and social health of employees might be more effective than discipline policies. Originality/value Deviant behaviors are often conceptualized as intentional acts. The findings of this research paper provide some evidence that factors other than harmful intend may motivate transgressions against coworkers.

The key objectives of the study is to know the nature and causes of victimization and deviant behavior among homeless adolescents in Bangladesh, identify the pattern of victimization particularly in employment sector and in social life and the issues that encourage the homeless adolescents to be involved in deviant behavior. This study is based on descriptive research which found significant information on socio-demographic characteristics of homeless adolescents, involvement in work for earning livelihood at early age, scenery of victimization in working environment, and finally participating in deviant behavior. Homeless adolescents become socially victimized as in most of cases, they have no regular contact with their family, and many adolescent even did not complete their primary education, deprived from basic rights of medical, sports and recreational facility. Furthermore, maximum homeless adolescents are day laborers and are involved in risky employment for long time, getting negligible salary and majority of them are become victim of physical torture and sexual harassment. Besides, most of the homeless adolescents get very harsh behavior from public and large numbers of them are arrested by the police during working. Thus, underprivileged homeless adolescents are become precariously victimized in society. Consequently, most of homeless adolescents are involved in pity offences, became drug abuser and gradually involved with various criminal gangs. So the study finally finds that homeless adolescent are being victimized in different perspective and also being involved with delinquency and serious crimes.

The data drawn upon for this article are derived from 41 qualitative interviews of young adults (aged 18–29 years) socially active in nightlife scenes who reported engaging in smoking prescription painkillers, sedatives, or stimulants. Results highlight how theories of drug use as a deviant behavior that is socially learned can be stretched beyond explaining patterns of initiation to also address the escalation of pre-existing drug use behaviors as users’ transition from one route of administration to another.

The article examines the management of nonprofit organizations in the area of prevention and correction of socially dangerous forms of citizens' behavior. The study is of great interest since such organizations have a wide range of tools for addressing social problems of deviant behavior in society. The methodology of this study predetermined the use of system, monographic, structural and logical research methods, along with the interview techniques. Statistical data and interview surveys showed that the state provided little support to organizations under examination. Their main sources of income are customer funds and private donations, which creates barriers to their development. Based on the research results, the authors concluded that the state should support nonprofit organizations in the field of prevention and correction of socially dangerous forms of citizens' behavior, as they: 1) facilitate the implementation of interests of a large number of participants in public life; 2) address the needs of various segments of the population which require additional support and protection; 3) provide services that meet the specific needs of socially vulnerable groups requiring additional support and protection. Nonprofit executives should develop special tools to improve the quality of social services and increase organizational capital.

This paper discusses the actions of rewarding and punishing children of different social behavior. The application of rewarding and punishing demands knowing and fulfilling several conditions which enable their efficiency: the nature of reward and punishment, the way in which pupils receive them, the context in which rewarding and punishing takes place and the characteristics of the subject (age, gender, cognitive capacities, social behavior). It is familiar that teachers prefer pupils who are cooperative, socially responsible, prone to conforming to school rules, kind, friendly and polite, while teacher?s work can often be aggravated on the part of the pupils who are aggressive, asocial, socially irresponsible, disruptive or prone to deviant behavior. In order to accomplish the outcomes which want to be achieved by these procedures, in applying reward and punishment, it is necessary to figure out carefully the criteria of rewarding and punishing and adhere to them consistently, paying attention to the characteristics of social behavior of the pupils. A special chapter is devoted to the consideration of unjust reward and punishment as one of the phenomena present in the experience of a large number of children. The analyzed problems assume adequate preparation of teachers, that is, the knowledge about basic characteristics of upbringing procedures applied in working with pupils, and which will have as a result a more successful social behavior, a more positive attitude towards school and studying.

The basis for regulating behavior in society is social norms that fix the existing system of values of society. The changes that are currently taking place in all spheres of modern Russian society are undermining the established foundations of life and disturbing the balance of the entire system as a whole. The greatest influence, and above all negative, they have on the development of culture and spiritual life. The ongoing reassessment of values leads to a decline in the significance of certain norms. The value-normative uncertainty characteristic of modern Russian society actualizes the problem of studying deviance in its environment. Modern Russian youth is focused on rapid achievement of high material well-being, but socially approved means of achieving success are very limited. The spread and popularization of new destructive behaviors in the youth environment at the current level of development of technical means of communication is much faster than the scientific and pedagogical community responds to these risks. The reasons for the increase in negative deviation in Russia are also, first, the changed system of values, in the structure of which the rapid achievement of material well-being, understood as enrichment, is rapidly beginning to dominate; second, the blurring of social norms leads to the destruction of even elementary moral prohibitions, which allows a significant part of individuals to enter into various kinds of connections with criminal structures. Based on the analysis of the works of classics of sociology and the results of empirical research, the article describes deviant behavior in terms of changing social forms in the minds of young people. Respondents were selected for focus groups using the snowball method. 20 students living in a dormitory of Kazan Federal University were selected, including students living on the territory of the Universiade Village and students living on the campus of KFU.

The article presents the results of studying the specifics of self-concept in women, practicing commercial sex. 61 women aged 18-37 were examined, with 32 of them working in "intimacy parlors" (M±SD=25,94±5,30) and 29 socially adapted women (M±SD=27,69±4,69). It was checked whether there are differences in personality organization between the women engaged in prostitution and the socially adapted ones. It is revealed that the women engaged in sex-services don't feel themselves belonging to their professional community or their particular social standing. They associate their interests, resources and leisure time with the time they spend at work, and are also distinguished by deficient responsibility and inconstancy; from those around them such women expect stereotypical attitude towards themselves. In psychologically meaningful and stressful situations they tend to lower their mental and emotional strain or avoid it through deviant behavior. Prostitutes are distinguished by strong tendencies towards depression, suppressed aggression and self-aggression. Significant correlation has been established between prostitutes' self-attitude and their psychological make-up (sovereignty of their psychological personal space, aggressiveness, coping behavior).

Sinyaya Ptitsa (Blue Bird in English) (Moscow region, Stupinsky district) is one of the first orphanages for children and adolescents in Russia. Sinyaya Ptitsa is a stationary institution that implements a set of measures for the social rehabilitation of children and adolescents. Orphan children and adolescents, who were left without parental care, temporarily live in the institution, where specialists provide them with comprehensive social, psychological, pedagogical, medical, and social aid. The respondents underwent psychodiagnostic examination and questioning in accordance with the tasks set. The results of this study allow to draw up a psychological portrait of an adolescent from a deprived background with deviant behavior, who has a file in the juvenile delinquents’ room. Their physical and indirect types of aggression are normal but close to a high level, there is a readiness to manifest negative feelings at the slightest excitement, which prevents cooperation with others, they are inclined to provoke conflicts and often use a coping strategy for solving problems in a stressful situation, in an attempt to effectively overcome a problematic life situation. This study has allowed to identify the specifics of the personal characteristics of orphan adolescents, the knowledge of which increases the level of competence and educational potential of teachers. The psychological work on the prevention of deviant behavior in adolescents will allow to improve the quality of life of the younger generation in the metropolis in the future.

Since then, aspects of neutralization theory have been incorporated into sociological and criminological theories to explain socially deviant behavior. Functional brain mapping research utilizing advanced magnetic resonance imaging techniques has identified complex, intrinsically organized, large-scale brain networks. Higher order operations commonly attributed to three brain networks (default mode network [DMN], central executive network [CEN], salience network [SN]) align closely with neutralization theory. This article briefly discusses brain networks in general and the DMN, CEN, and SN specifically. It also discusses how these networks are involved when engaging in the use of techniques of neutralization and offers implications for future research.

Abstract In group discussions, people rely on everyday diplomatic skills to socially regulate the interaction, maintain harmony, and avoid escalation. This article compares social regulation in online and face-to-face (FtF) groups. It studies the micro-dynamics of online social interactions in response to disagreements. Thirty-two triads discussed, in a repeated measures design, controversial topics via text-based online chat and FtF. The fourth group member was a confederate who voiced a deviant (right-wing) opinion. Results show that online interactions were less responsive and less ambiguous compared with FtF discussions. This affected participants’ social attributions: they felt their interaction partners ignored them and displayed disinhibited behavior. This also had relational consequences: participants experienced polarization and less solidarity. These results offer a new perspective on the process of online polarization: this might not be due to changes in individual psychology (e.g., disinhibition), but to misattributions of online behavior.

AbstractThis study examined adolescents' expectations and values about how competent behaviors would work for them in difficult social situations and explored the relation of these appraisals to adolescents' delinquency, drug use, and sexual intercourse without use of adequate birth control. Several lines of research on the determinants of adolescent achievement motivation, social competence, and various problem behaviors are integrated within a unified framework based on both motivational and cognitive-social learning theories. One hundred adolescents at-risk for problematic behaviors, aged 15½–18, received structured interviews measuring their expectations of self-efficacy in performing socially competent behaviors, their expectations about the outcomes of these behaviors, their values toward these behaviors, their perceptions of the values of peers, and their identification with the values of important adults. Adolescents also reported their recent levels of delinquency, hard drug use, and unprotected sexual activity. Adolescents' expectations and values were significantly related to all three problem behaviors; males' low efficacy expectations and females' lack of identification with an adult's values were the strongest correlates of problem behaviors. Adolescents' expectations and values are considered as potentially important aspects of adolescents' models of themselves in social interactions, which may mediate the link between problematic family relationships in childhood and deviant behavior in adolescence.

The paper aims to explain the reasons for such a deviant (opportunistic) behavior of the ruling elite representatives in a meaningful way when making socially significant decisions, using the markets with asymmetric information model by George Akerlof. With unequal access to information flows, «inappropriate» candidates for elective positions displace «good» candidates in accordance with the principle of «negative selection». Abstract SOCIAL REACTION TO DEVIANCE : AN EXPLORATORY STUDY The object of this exploratory study is to analyse social reactions to deviance by endeavouring to show some of the mechanisms of these re- actions. To do this, we have isolated deviant behaviour from its situational elements in order to study the fluctuations of reactions according to the nature of the deviance, and according to the categories of those reacting to the deviance. The instrument of measurement is a questionnaire which was administered to a random sample for pre-testing. This sample was drawn from the metropolitan region of Montreal. The data analysis is concerned with the degree of generality, consensus, consistency and contingency of reactions in terms of the nature of the deviant behaviour. The results showed the reactions to be surprisingly general. The regularity of the continuum drawn by the indices of contingency and those of strictly punitive consensus was remarkable. This exploratory study gives interested researchers information on crime-deviance continuums and social reactions to deviance. The continuum of social reactions is clearly defined, and this gives us reason to believe it would be possible to introduce an order of importance in the evaluation of social reactions.

This article substantiates social well-being of the population as one of the key indicators of socioeconomic inequality. The author advances a scientific idea is that the system of allocation of income and national wealth formed in the post-Soviet Russia, when excessive advantages of some (small social groups) are provided at the cost of limiting functional capabilities of others (larger social groups), which severely contradicts the basic principles of inclusive society and cannot be recognized as socially fair. The conducted analysis of the peculiarities of inequality in post-Soviet Russia describes it as “socially unfair” and excessive. Such inequality negatively affects social well-being of the individuals. It is demonstrated that excessive inequality, with characteristic massive poverty (absolute and relative), in the meta-space of social well-being of the population or the Russian Federation, the prevalent type of life realization of an individual is the “negative expectations”; most significant risk factors for the worsening of social well-being are moral and emotional state of society and some status characteristics of the individual (level of education, professional activity). Using cluster analysis, the author tests the hypothesis on the impact of excessive inequality upon the level of manifestation of deviant behavior of the people in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Recommendations are formulated on amending the redistributive policy of the government aimed at reduction of socioeconomic inequality and improvement pf social well-being of the population.

Purpose This paper aims to study gender differences on six organizational climate variables. Employees’ views on their identification level, clarity of goals, perceived equity, welfare measures and outward focus of the organization were solicited in two different studies, while supervisors’ views on subordinates’ deviant behavior was explored in one of the studies. Design/methodology/approach The research design incorporated getting data using a questionnaire from two large organizations in India: a government utility and a private sector company. In all, 545 responses from government utility and 8,853 responses from the private company were analyzed, which formed the basis for this study. Findings The paper demonstrates that gender differences in employee perceptions are not only socially determined for some variables but in fact may also depend on the organizational structural contexts in presence of explicit supporting policies. Gender differences in identification level and goal clarity were determined by larger social context in the absence of any structural arrangement in both organizations. However, gender differences regarding perceived climate of welfare measures, outward focus of the organization and fairness were contingent on the structural context of the two organizations on account of differing arrangements in both the organizations. Also, women participants were perceived by their supervisors to indulge less in deviant behavior as compared to male participants in one of the study. Research limitations/implications Although this research includes only two organizations and the findings may, thus, not be generalizable, a key finding that emerges is that to balance the needs of both genders, managers may need to be cognizant of both organizational and social contexts. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is first to consider a detailed analysis of organizational climate with respect to gender perception particularly in the Indian context. The context of the study in two structurally different large organizations further adds to the value of this research.

The article is devoted to the problem of psychology of financially competent behavior of servicemen. The psychological etiology of financial literacy / illiteracy of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is shown. The study was conducted using: 1) content analysis of information (publications, materials of official inspections, etc.) about the attitude of the personnel of law enforcement agencies to money and financial behavior; 2) expert survey; 3) psychodiagnostic examination (method "California psychological questionnaire". Experts and subjects were 67 soldiers. The study found that financially literate / illiterate behavior is determined by a pattern of both General and specific qualities. The basis of the pattern of General qualities of a soldier with a financially competent command were such characteristics as responsibility, self-control and developed intellectual and prognostic abilities. Persons with financially illiterate behavior were distinguished by: inability to competently plan a personal budget; propensity to risky financial transactions; promiscuity and inattention to spending money; frivolous attitude to debts and loans; focus on spending money, not saving it. Thus, the more socially responsible is the behavior of the soldier, the more they demonstrate financially competent behavior. The material of the article allows to justify the involvement of military psychologists to solve the problem of improving the financial literacy of personnel. First of all, it concerns preventive psychodiagnostics of propensity of the military personnel to financially illiterate behavior. This should be followed by the provision of psychological assistance to persons in need of it, as well as the formation of the personnel of financial responsibility and predictability, the ability to plan and control personal spending. Ultimately, the work to improve the financial literacy of military personnel will have a positive impact on overcoming the problem of deviant behavior of personnel, as a consequence, to maintain a high level of combat readiness of the Armed Forces.

The article’s content explains the variations of the jealous men’s subconscious tries to avoid understanding of the inconsistency of their “evidences” of mythical betrayals. The most typical diseases associated with the Othello syndrome are enumerated in the given article. The connection between the psychiatric anamnesis and the degree of active disease recurrences of jealousy is given. Verbal examples of typical fantasies of jealous people “with a background experience” are fixed, as well as the main paradoxical plots of their evidence base. Correctional facilities are created to implement penalties for persons who have committed criminal offences. Consequently, persons held in them are often socially dangerous, criminally infected and inclined to deviant behavior. At the same time, the isolation, restriction of discretion and movement, the need to stay for a long time in a certain group of people are triggering factors and cause such conditions as boredom, irritation, apathy, depression, emotional instability. These circumstances do not exclude the occurrence of emergencies caused by a violation of standards and rules of conduct by persons sentenced to imprisonment, as evidenced by the facts recorded in penitentiary practice. Working in such conditions imposes special requirements to employees. In respect thereof, particular attention is paid to the need for penal system employees to be ready for emergency circumstances. This type of readiness is complex and includes motivationally interdependent will, cognitive and activity components. The formation of the given components depends on a number of external and internal factors. While preparing staff for professional tasks in emergency circumstances, it is rather important to pay attention not only to personal, but also to the collective readiness of staff units. The staff readiness to emergencies contributes to the effective service tasks execution, increases the sense of self-confidence in staff and their authority among colleagues, and affects the nature of professional communication.

The article presents the concept of readiness of the convict’s personality for a law-abiding lifestyle, the provisions of which provide theoretical grounds for diagnosing such readiness and determining the system of psychological and pedagogical tasks for its formation in the correctional process. The concept provides a general understanding and the main components of the personality’s readiness for a law-abiding lifestyle; the spheres of life activity, in relation to which it should be formed; a system of psychological properties that form it, that are essential in determining law-abiding behavior and lifestyle in general. The author comes to the conclusion that the readiness of the convicted person to a law-abiding lifestyle is a system of psychological characteristics of the person, which act as internal prerequisites for the implementation of socially adapted life activities, preventing illegal acts. It is possible to distinguish three main components: 1) motivational-volitional attitude to lead a law-abiding lifestyle, which is the presence of desires to establish such a lifestyle, combined with volitional attitudes to implement them, observing self-discipline; 2) preparation for the legitimate solution of life’s problems, ensuring the satisfaction of their needs and legitimate interests as a system of evaluation and guidance ideas, labor and social knowledge, skills and abilities; 3) anti-criminal stability, which expresses the rejection of illegal ways of action and the ability to resist criminal influences and circumstances. The main areas of life, in relation to which it is necessary to form a readiness to act lawfully and be socially adapted, are: the sphere of material support of life; the sphere of interaction with other people; the sphere of performance of legally established duties; the sphere of leisure and entertainment. In relation to each area, it is necessary to form not only readiness for law-abiding behavior and solving life’s problems in a legal way, but also stability against committing illegal and deviant acts that carry the risk of committing such acts. The psychological essence of the convict’s readiness for a law-abiding lifestyle is a system of psychological characteristics of the personality that are essential in determining law-abiding life in conditions of freedom.

Although customer aggression has been found to affect the well-being of employees in the service sector, few prior researchers have examined its effect on employees' workplace behavior. Thus, we examined the effect of customer aggression on positive and negative workplace deviant behaviors in service contexts, and explored whether psychological ownership moderates these relationships. Participants were 362 bankers in the financial sector within South Korea, and we used structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. Results showed that customer aggression increased both destructive and constructive deviance. Further, psychological ownership moderated the relationship between customer aggression and constructive deviance, but not between customer aggression and destructive deviance. That is, customer aggression increased organizational and interpersonal constructive deviance among employees with high psychological ownership, suggesting that these employees were more likely to tackle customer aggression in an innovative manner.

Statement of the problem. The article analyzes results of the study aimed at studying perceptions of contemporary adolescents about the norms of behavior in society. To conduct the research, we developed a questionnaire consisting of questions about what one can be proud of, what can be considered unworthy and even unacceptable in the behavior of a teenager. The questionnaire was designed in a way to take into account opinion of adolescents themselves, their friends, peers and adults of importance from the environment of minors. The purpose of the article is to provide grounds for the selected criteria on social and normative assessment of adolescent behavior, to share the study results, to analyze them through the prism of personal characteristics of the respondents. The research methodology includes analysis of theoretical materials and research works of foreign and Russian scientists and analysis of experience obtained by specialists working with adolescents to correct their deviant behavior. Despite available in-depth studies of deviance issues (Yu.A. Kleiberg, A.I. Zakharov, I.S.Kon, B.A. Krutetsky, A.G. Kovalev, K. Leongard, A.E. Lichko, I.F. Myagkov, V.N. Myasishchev, I.L. Nevsky, E.Sh. Natanzon, V.S.Stepanov, D.I. Feldshtein, E.G. Eidimiller, V.V. Yustitsky, etc.), there are unresolved issues in terms of perceptions of contemporary adolescents about socially approved behavioral manifestations and assessment of their own behavior and behavior of other people. Research results. Based on the literature analysis, the main criteria for assessing behavioral manifestations were identified. For this, adolescents used the following terms “criminality”, “personal weakness / strength”, “ethics”, “relationships”, “social success / failure”. The study considers various options of personal attitude of adolescents to each of these characteristics. When filling out questionnaires, adolescents chose a description for each of these terms, based on the concepts associated with them. The study resulted in identifying common answers, frequency of their use by adolescents and content analysis of the answers. Conclusion. Based on the results of the study of contemporary adolescents’ perceptions about behavioral manifestations of a person in society, it was revealed that there are deficiencies in understanding and distinguishing the essence of the selected terms. This is evidenced by difficulties in choosing a description of each term. Quantitative indicators demonstrate that the majority of adolescents are characterized by the “I am an adult” position and a hypertrophied desire for independence. Answering the questions about what a person can be proud of, most adolescents emphasize the importance of the category of “relationship” and “social success”. Assessing the category of “ethics” adolescents give specific examples of “anti-ethical norms” and refer this to unacceptable and unworthy behavior. Also, description of the term “criminality” refers to “inadmissibility of actions” by the majority of adolescents. “Criminality” is also described by them in terms of theft, murder, violence, and banditry. Answers to the same questions by adults who are most important in the life of adolescents are of the utmost interest. About half of the adult respondents demonstrated the lack of mature perceptions about behavioral manifestations of a person and criteria for an adequate assessment of the actions of other people.

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to test a new approach to deviancy training, that is, the shaping and reinforcing of disruptive behaviors in social interaction, which considers not only reinforcement, but also the modeling processes involved, as well as children's roles as either providers or receivers of the training. Design/methodology/approach – Using teacher reports and observations from a semi-naturalistic experimental setting with young children, the authors examined the prevalence of provided and received modeling and positive reinforcement, as well as the concurrent contribution of behavior problems on these processes in friendship dyads using a convenience sample of six-year-old twins (N=783; 386 boys). Frequency analyses and linear and logistic regressions were conducted. Findings – Results indicated that modeling and positive reinforcement – provided and received – were prevalent in this low-risk sample, that behavior problems were associated mainly with provided dimensions, and that deviancy training processes were also displayed between disruptive and non-disruptive children. Practical implications – Findings are relevant to peer-oriented programs designed to prevent antisocial behaviors. Prevention should target these mixed friendships where deviant behavior likely begins. Originality/value – This study provides preliminary support for a new measure of deviancy training, underscores the importance of the roles taken by children, and shows that deviancy training takes place between disruptive and non-disruptive young children.
