Xing, Bingxin. „Inflation Patterns and Macroeconomic Factors : Insights from Cross-Country Analysis, Individual Goods, And Small Open Economies“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Cergy-Pontoise, Ecole supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales, 2023. http://www.theses.fr/2023ESEC0009.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis provides an exploration of inflation rates and their impacts on economies at both macro and micro levels. The work is structured as a collection of three interconnected studies, each offering insights into different aspects of inflation and financial markets. Chapter 1 delves into the variation in inflation rates across countries and regions using an APT-like common global factor model. Chapter 2 scrutinizes the inflation rates of individual consumer goods in the U.S., revealing significant heterogeneity in these rates due to their differential exposures to various U.S. macroeconomic factors. Chapter 3 assesses the influence of U.S. macro news on bond yields in small open economies, highlighting the significant role of U.S. economic news in driving low-frequency changes in bond yields in Canada, the UK, and Sweden. Chapter 1 introduces the concept of the excess inflation rate (EIR), defined as a country's domestic inflation rate minus the global inflation rate for the same period. This measure provides a comparative perspective on a country's inflation performance relative to others. The chapter underscores the importance of the global context when analyzing a country's domestic inflation dynamics and discusses the impact of global economic integration and global shocks on inflation rates. The chapter concludes with the finding that countries characterized by procyclical inflation display higher average inflation compared to those with countercyclical inflation. Chapter 2 shifts focus to the micro level, examining the inflation rates of 146 individual consumer goods and services. The chapter introduces the individual excess inflation rate (IEIR), defined as the inflation rate of a specific good minus the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate. The study reveals significant heterogeneity in IEIR, which is explained by their differential exposures to a variety of macroeconomic factors. These factors include pro-cyclical elements, such as long-term inflation expectations, wages, and consumer sentiment, as well as counter-cyclical elements, such as the unemployment gap, economic policy uncertainty, and financial conditions. The chapter concludes that on average, 40% of the variation of the IEIR across goods is accounted for by the heterogeneity in the goods' price responses to macroeconomic disturbances. Chapter 3 explores the influence of U.S. macro news on bond yields in small open economies, specifically Canada, Sweden, and the U.K. The chapter shows that U.S. macro news is significant driver of low-frequency changes in bond yields in these small open economies, often more important than their respective domestic macro news. Furthermore, the importance of U.S. macro news in explaining changes in bond yields and inflation compensation in these economies is largely due to their explanatory power for term and inflation risk premia

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleTo reach its objectives regarding regulation, the ARCEP has of a set of various means of action. The tariff regulation is one of them, and it allows to control the costs and to fix statutory price lists of the operators considered as "dominant" on certain "market segments", at the same time. The realized tests confirm the relevance of the market bêta, but also the necessity of to add new explanatory variables, mainly corporate, such as ROE, PER or book-to-market ratio. The factorial structure then identified seems different from that suggested by Fama and French ( 1993 ), both by the number of the identified risk factors and by their respective identy. But especially, it seems fundamentally unstable according to the studied samples, methods and applied statistical approaches, considered risk factors, or examined sectors
Schittekatte, Tim. „Distribution network tariff design and active consumers : a regulatory impact analysis“. Thesis, Université Paris-Saclay (ComUE), 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019SACLS054/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe uptake of affordable solar PV panels challenges the way in which costs of distribution networks are recuperated from consumers. Historically, consumers were charged for the use of the distribution network mainly according to their (net) volume of electricity consumed over a period of time. With such volumetric network charges, consumers installing PV panels contribute a lot less towards the recuperation of network costs. However, these consumers (prosumers) still rely on the network as much as they did before. The question investigated in this thesis is how to re-design the distribution network tariff in this changing context. Different game-theoretical models are developed to conduct this analysis. In the models, not only investments in solar PV but also investments in batteries at the consumer-side are considered. The thesis consists of a brief overview followed by four standalone chapters and a conclusion
Xing, Jingyue. „Dynamiques des groupes professionnels et new public management : l’introduction des instruments d’action publique dans la tarification des Établissements d'hébergement pour personnes âgées dépendantes (EHPAD)“. Thesis, Paris Sciences et Lettres (ComUE), 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018PSLEE066.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleWhat’s the impact of the New Public Management (NPM) on the occupational group dynamics? How does the government’s use of public policy tools affect the daily lives of the workers confronted to it? We suggest to answer to these questions studying the design, application and appropriation of these indexes and tools inspired by the NPM in the field of nursing home funding allocation. This thesis is based on long-term multi-site ethnographic fieldwork, through interview and observation, in three French regions, and is complemented by research in public and private archives. In its seven chapters, we aim to understand how the conceivers, the intermediate users and the targets appropriate these tools at the national, regional, departmental and organisation levels. Crossing the fields of public policy sociology, profession sociology and quantification sociology, our analysis shows the diverse relationships between public policy tools and professional groups. Some groups, like the departmental council funding assessors, or some geriatric doctors, have created their own quantitative tools in agreement with the national government, strengthening their power and accruing their professional and institutional recognition. Other groups, like the central government funding assessors and the directors and coordinating doctors of the nursing homes find their work deeply transformed, facing a stricter organisational and administrative control. These different relationships of the professional groups and subgroups with the tools depend both on their position in the hierarchy of power, and on the sociodemographic characteristics of their members. Therefore, this study shows multiple shades in the effects of NPM in the professional practice. If some groups find an opportunity to amplify their power of action, the new public management does not overturn the existing power framework
Meyer, Christine. „La régulation de la diffusion des innovations dans le système de santé : l'exemple de l'imagerie médicale“. Paris 1, 1992. http://www.theses.fr/1992PA010028.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe developped countries aim at managing the health structures developpment and to limit the health expenditure growth induced by technical and medical innovations diffusion in the health system. So, they directly operate in the system. But the french policy (price fixing or budgeting system or investment control), is primarily organized to limit this diffusion. And it is not efficient. During the last ten years diagnostic imaging grew at the same rythm than the whole medical expenditures. Though investment is controlled, the ct-scanner's looks like if it was not. When the examinations are paid by unit, we argue that there are induced profits, while in hospitals with limited budget local deficits are hidded. Even if the system might be made more efficient by technical ways, those public actions have to be built on economical criteria and take in account conditions and effects of those diffusion, for example the learning costs and the externalities
