Many have studied the process of acceptance and adoption of new ideas and technologies as they are introduced into society. While several models have been used to assess various influencing factors, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is one that is most widely accepted. This model examines people’s acceptance of new technologies based on variables that directly correlate to how the end user views the product. This paper introduces the Policy Acceptance Model (PAM), an expansion of TAM, which is designed for the analysis and evaluation of acceptance of new policy implementation. PAM includes the traditional constructs of TAM and adds the variables of age and ethnicity. The model is experimentally assessed using a survey of people’s attitudes toward the upcoming health care reform from 72 survey respondents. The aim is that the theory behind this model can be used as a framework that will be applicable to studies looking at the introduction of any new or modified policies.

Medical implantable technologies, such as cochlear implants or joint prostheses, have been commonly used since the late 20th century. By contrast, the market for this type of technology is expanding when the purpose is not medical, even though it is more marginal. This study tests a technology acceptance model for the latter type of insideable technology based on an extension of the technology acceptance models TAM and TAM2 proposed for hedonic technologies by van del Heijden. So, the behavioral intention of insertables is explained by the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, as well as social influence, as proposed in the TAM2 by Venkatesh and Davis. Additionally, the perceived enjoyment, included in the extension by Van der Heijden, is added as an explanatory factor. We applied structural equation modeling to the theoretical scheme provided by the modified TAM and performed a necessary condition analysis. Statistical analysis showed that all variables considered in the model have a significantly positive influence on behavioral intention. Likewise, the model has good properties both from the point of view of the fit obtained, since it predicts 70% of behavioral intention, and from the predictive point of view. The necessary condition analysis allows us to analyze whether the presence of some of the latent variables postulated to explain the attitude toward implantables is necessary to produce the said acceptance. Therefore, its absence is a critical aspect of expansion. We observed that perceived usefulness manifests itself as a necessary condition for behavioral intention with a medium size. Perceived ease of use and enjoyment also present a significant necessity effect size, but their strength is smaller. By contrast, the subjective norm does not have the status of a necessary variable.

Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is an important tool to understand the dynamics of acceptance of Information Systems in an organization. The model posits that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are key factors in the adoption. This study extends TAM for investigating the user rejection of technology by reversing the two key factors into perceived difficulty of use and perceived uselessness. The study was conducted by surveying the customers of an e-banking application in Turkey who disuse the system. The results reveal important hints for the organization that wants to get an insight into the causes of the system disuse.

The main aim of this paper is to develop an amalgamated conceptual model of technology acceptance that explains how individual, social, cultural and organizational factors affect the students’ acceptance and usage behaviour of the Web-based learning systems. More specifically, the proposed model extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to include four constructs namely, Quality of work life; Social Norm; Facilitating Conditions and self-efficacy. In addition, Individual differences—namely, age, gender, and experience—are hypothesized to moderate the effects of these constructs on behavioral intention and technology use. A comprehensive understanding of this model will provide valuable insights into the factors that influence the acceptance or resistance of web-based learning system by intended users and offers opportunities for future research in understanding the acceptance of technology. Further, understanding these variables is helpful for instructors to design meaningful educational activities to promote student knowledge construction and make learning more effective and appealing.

This study intends to determine the acceptance of the technology in making ethical performance among auditors. We have reviewed current technology acceptance theories and formulates a unified model for the context of EPV application based on several constructs which is: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, motivating and impeding factor and perceive risk. Hypothesis are generated and their validity is analyzed by using Pearson Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression and a model has been produces for findings of the study namely Technology Acceptance towards EPV application (TAEPV). From the model, hedonic motivation has been excluded because it shows no significant relationship towards technology acceptance which means it is not suitable to be a factor to determine technology acceptance of EPV application. The respondents are tertiary students that are undergoing study in accounting, as they are the future pool of talent for the workforce. The results show that TAEPV outperforms current technology acceptance model by significantly improving the R-squares. Thus, this study makes modest theoretical and empirical contributions to the professional sector to (1) analyse existing tools in measuring ethical performance of individuals, (2) propose a unified model of technology acceptance toward EPV application and (3) evaluate technology acceptance in implementing EPV application. As for recommendation, it is hoped that TAEPV theories can be then evaluated by the financial auditors to assess their acceptance and use behavior of EPV application, the pioneer of professional judgment system.

Abstract During the pandemic, technology-mediated communication was one of the few ways to maintain social and community connections. We explored how the pandemic impacted older adults’ use and appraisal of technology. In a random sample of 407 older adults (M age = 81.1 years; range 65-105 years) almost half (n = 161) reported they changed how they used technology to virtually connect with others during the pandemic, and 78 of these reported that this was new technology for them. We adapted the technology acceptance model (TAM) for the pandemic, the COVID-TAM, and describe how physical distancing led to new acceptance of technology due to an increased perception of usefulness of technology for maintaining community and social connections. The 71 older adults who denied using technology were asked about the reasons underlying their reluctance to use technology to access social networks and community events during the pandemic. Thematic analysis revealed factors consistent with a double-digital divide; lack of physical exposure to technology creates an additional psychological barrier to adoption of new technology. Of the technology-reluctant subgroup of older adults, few reported lack of perceived usefulness of technology during the pandemic. Instead, most reported lack of self-efficacy or fear of technology underlying their lack of technology use for social and community connections during the pandemic, which we incorporate into the COVID-TAM. Findings indicate that technology training can help mitigate this fear and increase social and community connections that are technology-mediated in circumstances where physical distancing is necessary.

Building on the technology acceptance model (TAM), this study examines university student’s acceptance of information and communication technology (ICT) as a learning resource outside of the classroom. With the aim of looking more deeply into this subject, the study applied the technology acceptance model to recognize the effect of perceived usefulness on the student’s actual use of ICT with the existence of perceived usefulness as a moderator variable. Data were collected from 376 students from Duhok Polytechnic University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq using a questionnaire survey consisting of 15 items developed based on the related literature. The results support that both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness are key determinants of student’s actual use of ICT as a learning resource, and the relationship between perceived ease of use and actual use is moderated by perceived usefulness. Based on the findings, conclusions, implications, limitations, and an outlook for future studies were made. The originality of this study stems from the use of perceived usefulness as a moderator on the relationship between perceived ease of use and actual use of ICT among university students.

E-learning is one of the media in the current learning process, but many facts in the field show that the process of using it is not optimal. Many factors affect one of them, from the user's difficulty to operate it. This research aims to identify the factors that influence the use of the e-learning portal at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta with a teacher and student as respondents. This research uses a quantitative approach with an ex-post-facto approach. The primary data source comes from sharing an online questionnaire (google form) which contains 30 questions using a Likert scale of 5 as an alternative answer. The research subjects were teachers of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta with 69 teachers. The results showed that the use of e-learning portals by teachers and students is (1) effect by the e-learning self-efficacy factor on the e-learning portal is still not optimally successful; (2) Effect by complexity factor is still not optimally successful and (3) Effect from motivation factor is getting optimal results.

Abstract Consumer behaviour analysis is a key aspect for the success of e-business. The main objective of the study is to analyse the impact of selected user experience factors on e-commerce web site visiting (technology). The objective of the study is to create a model that will explain the impact of each major factor on the user experience and the re-visit of the e-shop. To explain the use of e-commerce technology, in the second part we have modified the original technology acceptance model (TAM) with other constructs. Specifically, there are modern technologies such as social networks or mobile apps that affect the use of e-shops. The TAM model is one of the most used models of what the system uses to identify the perceived usefulness and perceived simplicity of use from the user’ side. For the main advantage of our study, we consider that we have highlighted the importance of the factor of modern technology and therefore of social networks, mobile applications and contextual advertising. This factor, along with the other two factors, has been incorporated into our model and has shown that modern technologies have a direct impact and are therefore directly related to the frequency using the e-commerce websites.

The purpose of this paper is to empirically study factors that facilitate the adoption of building information modelling (BIM) among practitioners using the unified theory of technology acceptance model (TAM). The factors identified in the TAM were examined using a quantitative approach. The empirical investigation has been conducted using a survey questionnaire. The data set has been obtained from 73 architects and engineers in Peru. Results show that Perceived Usefulness (PU) is the most important determinant of Behavioural Intention (BI), while Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) is found to have no significant effect on BI. The findings provide an excellent backdrop in the development of policy and a roadmap for BIM implementation in Peru. The original contribution and value of the paper is the use of TAM to provide empirical evidence on factors that facilitate BIM adoption in Peru.
