Resumen
Статья посвящена истории написания «Очерков древней истории Украинской ССР» – первой обобщающей работы, подготовленной сотрудниками киевского Института археологии АН УССР. Начатая в 1948 году и запланированная на два года, она затянулась на восемь лет, сама же книга была издана только в 1957. Тексты несколько раз переделывались, иногда писались заново уже другими авторами. Поэтому можно выделить несколько этапов создания книги: 1948–1950 – первоначальная подготовка текстов; 1951–1952 – первое исправление, связанное с выходом статьи И.В. Сталина; 1953–1955 – полная переделка работы, обусловленная сменой концепции в сторону большей историчности. Это также повлекло изменения и в структуре издания. Resumen
Long-term variability of the cold subsurface water (CSW) in the Okhotsk Sea is analyzed on the base of all available oceanographic data collected in March through August of 1946-2015 (total 65,742 stations). The Integral Heat Content (IHC) is calculated for each station and average annual IHC anomalies of the cold subsurface water are determined by month and by 2-degree grid. The IHC anomaly series are analyzed using the EOF analysis. Cycles with period of approximately 30 years are revealed in the variations of the subsurface layer heat content. Thus, in the 1946-1950, its temperature decreased, but it grew since 2009-2010 to 2015. The warming of CSW was also observed in the 1951-1964 and 1978-1994, while the cooling was in the 1965-1977 and 1995-2008. Based on this criterion, the CSW thermal condition in certain years is classified as «extremely cold» in 2001, as «cold» in 1949, 1950, 1951, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1999, 2000, 2010, 2012, as «normal» in 1946, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1957, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, as «warm» in 1948, 1956, 1964, 1968, 1974, 1981, 1984, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1997, 2015, and as «extremely warm» in 1963. Statistically significant correlation is found between changes of the CSW thermal conditions and long-term variations of atmosphere and ocean climate indices, as well as local patterns of the atmosphere-ice-ocean interaction in the Okhotsk Sea and adjacent onshore and offshore areas of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

An ongoing study of the ambrosia beetle tribe Xyleborini has resulted in numerous taxonomic changes mostly representing new generic/species combinations which remove species from the once all-encompassing Xyleborus Eichhoff, 1864 to other genera based on revised taxonomic concepts. These changes are here listed. Terminalinus Hopkins, 1915 is removed from synonymy with Cyclorhipidion Hagedorn, 1912 and reinstated as a valid genus. Five species are removed from synonymy and reinstated as valid species: Amasa brevipennis (Schedl, 1971), Amasa fulgens (Schedl, 1975), Ambrosiophilus immitatrix (Schedl, 1975), Ambrosiophilus semirufus (Schedl, 1959), Microperus leprosulus (Schedl, 1936). Artykuł ten, zatytułowany ^ „Działalność misyjna polskich salezjanów w Chinach w Filipinę”, w pierwszej części przywołuje prehistorię (sny Dùn-Bosco z Azji) i historię Misje salezjańskie w Chinach i na Filipinach. Dlaczego akurat te dwa kraje? Dlaczego salezjanie są wydaleni z dala od Chin przez komunistów w 1950 r. kontynuowali dzieło salezjańskie na Filipinach. Tam druga część przypomina polskich salezjanów, którzy pracowali w tych dwóch krajach, wyrażając swoją opinię małe biografie: sac. Teodor Wieczorek (1888-1957; w Chinach 1921-1957), rozdz. Franciszek Pyka (1891-1930; w Chinach 1924-1927), ks. Dr Jan Siara (1887-1937; w Chinach 1925-1932), co. styczeń Urban (1891-1953; w Chinach 1P26-1931), ks. Jan Buchta (1906-1972; w Chinach 1929-1954, a następnie po filipińsku), sac. Wiktor Spinek (1900-1978; w Chinach 1929-1932), sac. Władysława Wieczorka (1903-1942; w Chinach 1929-1932), co. Antoniego w Hongkongu i innych domów salezjańskich. Don Siara był za Przez 3 lata był wikariuszem biskupa Makau w dystrykcie Heung Shan, następnie pierwszym dyrektorem seminarium W Hong Kongu. Don Buchta był pierwszym dyrektorem Yuet Wah w Makau, a następnie dyrektorem różnych Salezjanin pracuje na Filipinach, radny prowincjalny. Don Mielczarek, inteligentny prefekt w Makau a następnie w Hongkongu (w czasie wojny) był dyrektorem Instytutu św. Józefa w Szanghaju. Don Szeliga w czasie wojny pracował niestrudzenie i nieustraszenie w wikariacie Shiu Chow, gdzie pozostał do 1953 r. Następnie był administratorem w różnych domach salezjańskich w Hongkongu. .Teraz działa w Kanada. Co. Prokopowicz pracował w Chinach, a następnie na Filipinach w administracji i jako szef różnych robotników. Uczył Fingiese, znał hiszpański, chiński, telugu, rosyjski, włoski. A inteligentna i nieoceniona pomoc dyrektorów i prefektów dzieł salezjańskich. Don Głowicki pracował przez pewien czas w Chinach, a po święceniach kapłańskich na Filipinach jako dyrektor a następnie administrator w różnych domach salezjańskich Dzieło salezjańskie kwitnie na Filipinach. kielich misyjnej krwi i potu (marzenie Ks. Bosko) w Chinach nie jest jeszcze wypełnione wyd chińscy salezjanie z nadzieją czekają na dzień, w którym ponownie wkroczą do Chin kontynentalny.

In the present paper, a new species of Strongylium Kirby, 1819 (Tenebrionidae, Stenochinae) is described and an updated checklist of the species present in the Philippines is provided. Agymnonyx caesarea Kulzer, 1951, Sphenolampidius hemisphaericus Kaszab, 1941, Stenothesilea cylindriformis Kulzer, 1951 Tetragonomenes crenata (Gebien, 1921) and Tetragonomenes tibialis (Kulzer, 1951) are rediscovered and illustrated for the first time; Atasthalus spectrum Pascoe, 1871, Scotaeus corallipes Hope, 1834, Simalura subopaca Kulzer, 1952 and Strongylium cultellatum Mäklin, 1867 are recorded as new for the fauna of the Philippines.

Po przejrzeniu archiwalnej dokumentacji Państwowego Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych w Zamościu, na którą składają się – tak jak w przypadku innych dawnych akt szkolnych – akta organizacyjne, takie jak plany i sprawozdania, akta przebiegu nauczania, w tym protokoły posiedzeń rad pedagogicznych, arkusze ocen, duplikaty świadectw, a także kroniki szkolne i książki zarządzeń dyrektora – autor artykułu te ostatnie uznał za mówiące najwięcej o życiu szkolnym i realiach okresu, z jakiego pochodzą. Publikowany wybór zarządzeń pochodzi z początku lat 50. Liceum plastycznym w Zamościu kierowała wtedy Halina Rogińska, pedagog, ale też animatorka kultury i poetka. Pod jej rządami liceum przeżyło złoty okres. Zarządzenia były kierowane do nauczycieli oraz do uczniów. Publikowane są te drugie, jako znacznie ciekawsze i dające świadectwo powojennej biedy, z którą zmagali się także uczniowie, a także przenikania stalinizmu do szkół. Czczono każdą rocznicę urodzin Stalina, Lenina, Bieruta, powstania Armii Czerwonej. Na jednym z pochodów pierwszomajowych uczniowie demonstrowali olbrzymie, karykaturalne kukły imperialistycznych polityków, np. Trumana. Często mowa jest o ZMP. Uczniowie wyjeżdżali do prac społecznych do pobliskiego PGR-u. Obowiązywały surowe normy obyczajowe. Zabronione było uczęszczanie na ostatni seans w kinie i „wałęsanie się” po mieście, uczennicom nie wolno było przebywać w towarzystwie obcych mężczyzn na ulicy czy w parku. Obowiązywał nakaz noszenia czapek i legitymacji.

Celem pracy była analiza biografii oraz dorobku naukowego Konrada Dzięgielewskiego, poznańskiego okulisty i kierownika Kliniki Okulistycznej Akademii Medycznej w Poznaniu w latach 1951-1955. Konrad Dzięgielewski urodził się w 1903 r. w Malborku. Otrzymał tytuł doktora wszechnauk lekarskich na Wydziale Lekarskim Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego w 1931 r. Był członkiem Polskiego Towarzystwa Okulistycznego, kierownikiem poznańskiego oddziału towarzystwa w latach 1951-1956. Został odznaczony m.in. Krzyżem Kawalerskim Orderu Odrodzenia Polski, Medalem Zwycięstwa i Wolności. Napisał kilka prac naukowych.

Az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetemen az alapítástól, 1635-től folyamatosan vezetett anyakönyvek, majd a rektori és a dékáni hivatalokban keletkezett iratok és jegyzőkönyvek tárolása a 20. század elején már nagy kihívások elé állította az intézményt. 1948-tól a papírtakarékosság jegyében kiadott selejtezési rendeletek és utasítások, valamint az 1950-ben megjelent levéltári rendelet értelmében nagyarányú iratselejtezési munkák kezdődtek, az ezek után megmaradt iratokat pedig a Magyar Országos Levéltár részére adták át. Az 1635 és 1900 közt keletkezett iratokat 1951-ben szállították el az egyetemről. 1952-től a selejtezések mellett a Magyar Munkásmozgalmi Intézet számára is át kellett adni iratokat, így az 1900 után keletkezett iratoknak csak a töredéke került be végül az Országos Levéltárba 1953 és 1955 között. 1956 novemberében egy belövés következtében az Országos Levéltárban tűz ütött ki, és az egyetem összes beszállított irata elpusztult. Az 1948 és 1956 közti időszakban az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetemet pótolhatatlan veszteség érte, hiszen óvatos becslések szerint körülbelül 2500 iratfolyóméter anyagából mindössze 20 iratfolyóméter maradt meg, és ezzel nemcsak iratait, de múltjának nagy részét is elvesztette.

W artykule opisany został jeden ze słabiej znanych epizodów w pisarskiej biografii Tadeusza Różewicza. Poeta, którego miejsce w hierarchii artystycznej epoki było stosunkowo wysokie, w latach stalinizmu zdaje się poszukiwać kompromisu między pełnowartościową twórczością artystyczną a lansowanym przez czynniki oficjalne obrazem doskonałego świata komunistycznej utopii. Wyrazem tego rodzaju tendencji są niektóre wiersze z tomów Pięć poematów (1950), Czas który idzie (1951), Wiersze i obrazy (1952), Równina (1954), Srebrny kłos (1955). Teksty te zostały stosunkowo dobrze opisane, podczas gdy do niedawna niemal nieznane pozostawały krótkie utwory narracyjne, które Różewicz w latach 1952–1953 opublikował na łamach przeznaczonego dla młodzieży pisma „Płomyk”. Opowiadania Towarzysz Marian i Gwiazdy Budapesztu pozostają zasadniczo zgodne z obowiązującą wówczas tendencją socrealistyczną. Pierwsze z nich ukazuje wyidealizowany życiorys jednego z komunistycznych „świętych”, Mariana Buczka – przede wszystkim rzekomo bohaterskie ostatnie dni i godziny jego życia (Buczek ginie z bronią w ręku, podczas walki z niemieckim okupantem). Gwiazdy Budapesztu to z kolei równie jednowymiarowy obraz cywilizacyjnych, społecznych i technicznych zdobyczy komunizmu na Węgrzech. Autor artykułu podejmuje próbę analizy tych tekstów oraz ujrzenia ich na tle życia publicznego Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej lat stalinizmu.

Cette thèse aborde la question du rapport entre les conjonctures socio-politiques de l'Espagne de la première moitié du XXe siècle et le traitement ou la considération du ''fait sportif'' en Catalogne. Dans cette étude, le quotidien barcelonais El Mundo Deportivo (1906- à nos jours), constitue une source de recherche intéressante dans l'interprétation de la trajectoire de la pratique et de l'information sportive catalane, et sa relation avec le monde politique, de la Seconde République au franquisme, en passant par la Guerre civile. Ainsi, la période républicaine est marquée par un certain détachement du pouvoir politique vis-à-vis du fait sportif. Quant au régime totalitaire du Généralissime Francisco Franco, il suppose une mise sous tutelle de la presse et une centralisation de la direction de la vie sportive espagnole au début des années quarante. Cette analyse établit, notamment une corrélation entre le statut social de la femme espagnole, sa présence réelle dans la vie sportive, et le régime politique en vigueur dans le pays
This thesis is about the relation between the Spanish socio-political conjunctures in the first half of the twentieth century and the dealing with or the consideration of the "sporting fact" in Catalonia. In this study the barcelonan daily paper El Mundo Deportivo (1960 - till today), is an interesting source of research about interpreting the practice trajectory and the catalan sporting information, and its relation with the political world during the Second Republic to the francoism, through the civil war. Thus, the republican period is marked by a certain political power detachment from the sporting fact. As for the Generalissimo Francisco Franco totalitarian regime, it supposes the press to be under supervision and a centralization of the Spanish sporting activities management in the beginning of the 1940s. This analysis shows particularly a correlation between the social status of the Spanish woman, her real presence in sporting life, and the country political regime in force

The aim of this thesis is to study the development of the Gaullist movement’s views on the situation in French North Africa - Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria - in the period between the elections of June 1951 and Charles de Gaulle’s return to power following the revolt of May 1958 in Algeria. It is based on Gaullist party archives, politicians’ private papers, and the extensive Gaullist press, as well as parliamentary papers and diplomatic documents. It seeks to establish the range of Gaullist views on the North African problems before their return to power, in the light of the fact that it was the crisis in North Africa that brought about the Gaullists’ return to government. In addition, the thesis demonstrates the extent of divisions among Gaullists during the Fourth Republic, providing a close analysis of Gaullist thought in this often-neglected period, with special reference to colonial and international questions. The first chapter, after providing an overview of the state of scholarship on Gaullism and decolonisation in French North Africa, attempts to define and clarify notions of Gaullism, and introduces the most important Gaullist figures whose views and behaviour will be examined in the rest of the thesis. The second chapter discusses themes associated with Gaullism in the early years of the Fourth Republic, demonstrating the origins of many of the ideas and principles that were to shape Gaullist thinking on North Africa in the period 1951-58. The third chapter deals with Gaullist responses to the unrest in Morocco and Tunisia in 1952-53, at a time when increasing nationalist activity forced the question of the Protectorates’ future onto the French political agenda. Chapters four and five set the issue in a wider context, concentrating on other developments that influenced the Gaullists’ opinions on North Africa.  The fourth chapter describes the Gaullists’ opposition to the European Defence Community plan in 1952-54, emphasising the role that prioritisation of North Africa played in their opposition to European integration. The fifth chapter describes Gaullists’ reactions to the French defeat on Indochina in 1954, in terms of its effect on their views of the importance of North Africa for France’s influence, prestige and security.

The thesis is concerned with the British perception of Soviet foreign policy between 1951 and 1956. In particular it examines the understanding that British diplomats, politicians and civil servants had of the process of change which the death of Stalin stimulated in the Kremlin's relations with the outside world. The core of the study centres around 1955, as this was the pivotal point for the British. With the ascendancy of Khruschev there was perceived not only a new emphasis in Moscow on the necessity of avoiding global war between East and West, but also a new interest in economic competition. By 1956 Whitehall had concluded that there were a number of factors informing the Soviet re-evaluation of foreign policy. Among which were: the stabilisation of the Western alliance culminating with West German rearmament in 1955; the cost of defence expenditure both in armaments and in supporting the satellite regimes and China; the development of American and Soviet thermonuclear potentials. The latter was thought by the British to be the most profound in its implications on the Soviet approach to the future of international relations. The Soviet leadership certainly appeared eager to be friendly and particularly to communicate an awareness of the grotesque futility of a war employing the latest weaponry. To this end they agreed to the Geneva Summit of 1955. Anthony Eden and Harold Macmillan were convinced by this meeting that, in Macmillan's words, "there ain't gonna be no war". For a few brief, golden months, it seemed in London as if the Cold War might even be negotiated into history. However, by the end of 1955 it was apparent to the British that Geneva did not mean the Kremlin had given up aspirations to global supremacy, rather that the means to this end were now to be different.

A sessão alagoana do Partido Comunista do Brasil (PCB) quando não era ignorada pela historiografia produzida no estado, era reduzida ao patamar de um partido minúsculo e “inofensivo”. Ao fazer isso, tais escritos também colocavam o operariado urbano de Alagoas em um segundo plano. O objetivo desta dissertação é abordar as relações político-sociais travadas entre os militantes do PCB em Alagoas e a classe trabalhadora urbana do estado durante uma das décadas mais ricas em se tratando de atuações dos operários e efervescência política: 1950. Exploramos a conjuntura político-social do corte temporal (1945 – 1961) em Alagoas, focando nos embates eleitorais travados, buscando inserir o PCB dentro do jogo político alagoano. Em seguida entrelaçamos as ações e militância do partido entre os operários, demonstrando os locais de atuação e a presença dos comunistas nos principais aglomerados urbanos do estado. Por fim, analisamos vários pontos da relação entre comunistas e trabalhadores através de três ângulos diferentes: Justiça do Trabalho, sindicato e imprensa comunista. Com isto, acreditamos ter demonstrado ser o PCB o partido da classe operária em Alagoas, bem como também sua importância e relevância dentro da história e do cenário político do estado.

Nesta dissertação destaca-se e analisa-se as distintas interpretações acerca da forma da industrialização no período que abrange o Governo Getúlio Vargas (1951-54) evidenciando (em concordância com as orientações tecidas de cada autor) quais foram as circunstâncias conjunturais, tanto econômicas, quanto político-institucionais (internas e externas) precedentes à 1951 e do próprio período (1951-54), que, em seu conjunto, tornaram historicamente possíveis as decisões e orientações políticas e econômicas adotadas. O presente trabalho está estruturado em três capítulos que cada um sediará uma das três diferentes interpretações sobre o teor ideológico por trás do projeto de desenvolvimento econômico e industrial adotado pelo Governo de Vargas (1951-54), bem como do conjunto de políticas macroeconômicas postas em prática pelas autoridades à época. O trabalho também destaca a discussão, que em muitas vezes não foi consensual entre os próprios autores que compuseram cada capítulo, das possíveis influências herdadas pelo Governo de Kubitschek do projeto de desenvolvimento industrial implementado por Vargas. Após demonstrar a existência de distintas interpretações acerca do projeto de industrialização do Governo Getúlio Vargas (1951-54) e suas influências no Governo de Juscelino Kubitschek (1956-61), conclui-se que o Ministério da Fazenda, representado pela figura de Lafer detinha um posicionamento pró industrialização que forma que as medidas de contenção (de gastos fiducitários) realizadas não entraram em colisão com a proposta industrializante, ou seja, o que se pôde observar foi o incentivo à ampliação da produção nacional com o apoio decidido das políticas cambial e de crédito. In this dissertation stands and analyzes the different interpretations about the form of industrialization in the period covering the Getúlio Vargas government (1951-54) showing (in accordance with the guidelines of each woven author) what were the circumstances cyclical, both economic , the political-institutional (internal and external) preceding the 1951 and the period itself (1951-54), which, as a whole, became historically possible decisions and political and economic orientations adopted. This paper is structured in three chapters that each host one of three different interpretations of the ideological content behind the design of economic and industrial development adopted by the Government of Vargas (1951-54), as well as the set of macroeconomic policies put in practice by the authorities at the time. The work also highlights the discussion, which often was not consensus among the authors who composed each chapter, the possible influences inherited by the Government of Kubitschek's industrial development project implemented by Vargas. After demonstrating the existence of different interpretations of the industrialization project of the Government Getúlio Vargas (1951-54) and their influences in the government of Juscelino Kubitschek (1956-61), it is concluded that the Ministry of Finance, represented by the figure of Lafer actually held a position pro industrialization so that containment measures (spending fiducitários) held not come into collision with the proposed industrialization, which gave support to the materialization of an explicit effort to expand domestic production with the decisive support of policies currency and credit. Resumen
This thesis explores, through archival research, the development of the modern prison in Malta at two important points in its history. The date of the inception of Corradino prison in 1850 and the enactment of the 1931 regulations influenced by the Patterson reform. It takes a three-pronged approach of prison regulations, prison practice and prisoners to explain the happenings of the prison. This archival research also explores the tenth and twentieth year from the enactment of the regulations to enable an analysis of the adoption of prison practice vis-à-vis the prison regulations through data categories. Each era is explored through the architectural structure, the prisoners’ profiles, the prison routine, the prison discipline, the prisoners’ work, their diet and the workers in prison (the data categories) which feed and were fed by the hypothesis which in turn feed the theoretical approach which also inspired the hypothesis. This research confirms the three hypotheses under study. The first, being that, the prison regulations moved from being aimed at deterrence and retribution to the punishment of the soul and rehabilitation. The second hypothesis addressed prison practice in that it moved from being austere to a softer mode of punishment. The third hypothesis concluded that the prisoners’ profiles did not change much during a hundred years. These hypotheses were analysed through a four-pronged theoretical approach, which the researcher called ‘change in thinking’, ‘change in sensibilities’, ‘commitment to discipline’ and ‘the needs of the state’. This thesis starts with a short introduction, followed by the literature review where the theoretical perspective is explained. This in turn leads to an explanation of the method and the problems encountered during the research. The data from the research is presented in four chapters. The first two chapters analyse the 1850-1870 era while the second two chapters, address the 1931-1951 era. The concluding chapter brings together the findings from the previous chapters and accepts the hypotheses. The research shows that the Maltese authorities were heavily influenced by the English colonial powers in the running of the prison. However, in 1850 the running of the Maltese prison seems more advanced than that of the English prison, while in 1931 the opposite is true, with the Patterson reforms, having to wait until after the war to be put in practice.

Resumen
Нами были определены характерные черты, произошедшие в сфере высшего образования Монголии и проведено также сопоставительное сравнение с достигнутым результатом сегодняшнего дня. Кафедра географии государственного университета образования Монголии является одной из старейших. Данная кафедра была создана в 1951 году согласно постановлению №178 Совета Министров МНР от 9 августа 1951 года "О создании учительского института с трехлетним обучением для подготовки учителей V-VIII классов при Монгольском государственном университете им. Х. Чойбалсана” под наименованием "Природно-мировое отделение ”. Это отделение было одной из первых четырёх единиц, вошедших в структуру 1951-1952-ого учебного года. Так положена основа для подготовки учителей географии с высшим образованием в Монголии. Кафедра географии сыграла ключевую роль для подготовки учителей географии. С 1952 года по настоящее время в соответствии с социальной потребностью было подготовлено более 4000 учителей со степенью бакалавра.

Здійснював наукові дослідження фауни й екології наземних хребетних Середнього Придніпров’я. Автор понад 100 наукових і науково-методичних робіт, зокрема першого українськомовного підручника для вишів із зоології хребетних. Популяризатор охорони природи. Керував аспірантурою, в якій підготував 23 кандидати біологічних наук у галузі зоології. Учасник Другої Світової Війни.

Resumen
Ilmatieteen laitoksen Nurmijärven geofysiikan observatorio aloitti toimintansa syksyllä 1952. Observatorion päätehtävä oli ylläpitää jatkuvia magneettisia rekisteröintejä muualla Suomessa tehtävien magneettisten kartoitustöiden tueksi. Ilmatieteen laitoksen johdolla tehty magneettinen kartoitustyö saatiin päätökseen vuonna 1930, mutta yli kaksikymmentä vuotta myöhemmin tarvittiin magneettisen kartta-aineiston päivitys. Työhön saatiin Sodankylän geofysiikan observatorion johtaja Eyvind Sucksdorff (1899–1955) vuonna 1945. Sucksdorff oli jättänyt Sodankylän observatorion sen tuhouduttua Lapin sodassa 1944. Hänet nimitettiin Ilmatieteen laitoksen geofyysikon virkaan. Eyvind Sucksdorff aloitti kartoitustyöhön tarvittavat magneettiset maastomittaukset vuonna 1946 ja samaan alkoi myös Nurmijärven observatorion suunnittelu. Observatorion havaintorakennukset saatiin valmiiksi 1951 ja ensimmäinen kokonainen havaintovuosi oli 1953. Magneettisten rekisteröintien ohella observatorio oli Ilmatieteen laitoksen sääasema. Eyvind Sucksdorffin työt magnetismin alalla jäivät kesken, kun hän kuoli yllättäen vuonna 1955. Töiden jatkajaksi tuli Eyvindin poika Christian (1928–2016). Nurmijärven observatorion havaintojen ylläpito saatiin vakinaisemmalle kannalle, kun observatorioon saatiin pysyvää henkilökuntaa ja päärakennus toimisto- ja asuintilaksi. Observatorion paikallisjohtajaksi nimitettiin FM Matti Kivinen (1924–2010) vuonna 1957. Hänen johtajakautensa kesti vuoteen 1988 saakka. Kivisen jälkeen observatorion johtajuutta hoiti FT Kari Pajunpää (1956–2022) vuoteen 2018 saakka. Kansainvälisen Geofysiikan vuoden (IGY, 1957–1958) aikana Nurmijärven observatorion havaintotoiminta laajeni, kun sinne perustettiin Posti- ja lennätinhallituksen ionosondi ionosfäärin luotauksiin kaukomaille suunnattujen radiolähetyksien tueksi. Luotaukset jatkuivat vuoteen 1987 saakka. Vuonna 1961 Helsingin yliopisto perusti observatorion alueelle seismologisen havaintoaseman osana maailmanlaajuista maanjäristyksien havaintoverkkoa. IGY:n aikana Ilmatieteen laitos käynnisti revontulien valokuvausrekisteröinnit usealla asemalla Lapissa. Revontulikuvaukset jatkuvat edelleen uudemman sukupolven kameroilla. Vuonna 1959 observatoriossa aloitettiin ilma- ja sadevesinäytteiden radioaktiivisuuksien analysointi, kun ilmakehässä suurvaltojen toimesta tehtyjen ydinräjähteiden jäljiltä radioaktiivisen säteilyn määrä oli kohoamassa maassammekin selvästi yli luonnollisen tason. Ilmatieteen laitos piti osaltaan yllä säteilyn valvontaan liittyviä mittauksia ja tutkimusta. Toiminnan alkuaikoina pääosan radioaktiivisuuteen liittyvistä töistä teki FM Rolf Mattsson (1933–). 1960- ja 1970-luvuilla Nurmijärven observatorion operatiiviselle vastuulle perustettiin useita eri maiden rahoittamia havaintolaitteita. Tärkeitä toimijoita olivat Saksan Max-Planck-Instituutti ja Alaskan yliopisto. Edellinen ionosfääriluotaimen kautta ja jälkimmäinen magneettisten pulsaatioiden osalta. Yhteistyö Oulun yliopiston ja Sodankylän geofysiikan observatorion kanssa oli tiivistä. 1970-luvulta lähtien käynnistyi havainto- ja rekisteröintijärjestelmien automatisointi ja siirtyminen digitaalisiin laitteisiin. Observatorion alkuajoista lähtien toimineet analogiset magneettiset rekisteröinnit uusittiin moderneilla digitaalisilla laitteilla 1990-luvulla, jolloin valokuvausperiaatteella toimineet rekisteröinnit voitiin lopettaa. Magneettiset absoluutti-instrumentit korvattiin samoihin aikoihin uusilla ajanmukaisilla laitteilla. Samoja magnetometrejä hankittiin myös magnetometriverkon IMAGE käyttöön eri puolilla Suomea. Nurmijärven magneettiset rekisteröinnit liitettiin vuonna 1991 kansainväliseen INTERMAGNET-verkkoon, jolloin observatorion magneettiset datat ovat reaaliajassa käytettävissä maailmalla esimerkiksi avaruussään monitorointiin. Magnetismin alalla uutena toimintamuotona käynnistyi 1990-luvulla magneettinen testilaboratorio, missä voitiin kalibroida erilaisia magneettikenttää mittavia laitteita. Laboratorio erikoistui myös avaruuteen lähetettävien mittalaitteiden magneettisen puhtauden määrityksiin. Työtä tehtiin muun muassa yhdessä ukrainalaisen avaruustutkimuslaitoksen kanssa. Magneettinen testilaboratorio akkreditoitiin (MIKES) vuonna 2007, mutta sen toiminta on keskeytynyt. Kaikkiaan Nurmijärven observatoriossa on ollut toiminnassa 15 erilaista geofysikaalista rekisteröintijärjestelmää. Niistä osa on ollut ulkomaisten yhteistyötahojen havaintolaitteistoja, mutta merkittävä yhteistyökumppani havaintojen alalla on ollut Sodankylän geofysiikan observatorio. Nurmijärven observatorion rekisteröintien automatisointi ja havaintojen liittäminen tietoliikenneverkkoihin vähensi tarvetta ylläpitää observatoriolla vakinaista henkilökuntaa, koska tarvittavat huoltotoimet ja mittaukset voidaan pääasiassa tehdä Helsingistä käsin. Samalla tarpeettomiksi käyneet asuinrakennukset ja käytöstä poistuneet vanhentuneet mittauskopit voitiin purkaa.
