We live in the age when research skills are required regardless of person’s field of activity and experience, therefore it is important to acquire the research skills as key competences already in the school years. Also it is possible to purposefully develop the research skills working on the course papers, bachelor's thesis, master's thesis and doctoral dissertation. In Liepaja University, the Bachelor's study program Teacher/ Music teacher gives the students the opportunity to participate in the development of science, ensuring the academic research principles in the science of pedagogy.The authors of this article analyse the choice of research topics selected by the students of Liepaja University, study program Teacher/ Music teacher, as well as the content of the Bachelor’s papers, evaluating the applied research skills. The aim of this research: to explore the students' ability to apply the research skills in the process of Bachelor's thesis development. The research method: This study is designed as analysis and review of the defended Bachelor's thesis. As the result, the topicality and specifics of the Bachelor’s papers is evaluated, keeping in mind the selected qualifications in the context of lifelong education, also analysing the students' ability to apply the research skills while working on Bachelor's thesis.

Resumen
Bachelor’s and Master’s theses are an opportunity for students to dive deep into a research question and gain in-depth knowledge about a research topic. At the end of a curriculum, theses act as a kind of bridge between the educational stage and work or further study. Thesis supervision is a resource-intensive task and often a critical factor for the quality of a thesis. After decades of experience with different methods, we have developed a concept for continuous thesis supervision and applied it to two specific degree programs at our university, the Bachelor's program in Computer Science and Digital Communication and the Master's program in Software Design and Engineering. Compared to traditional supervision methods, this concept has led to a higher adherence to deadlines and to a higher quality of the final theses. In this paper, we present our findings on different types of supervisors and our concept for continuous thesis supervision, which can be adapted to each identified supervisor type. This concept comprises several methods, intended to inspire other supervisors to choose the set of methods that best suits their needs. We also describe how this concept can be adapted for project-based courses.

The authors have published a number of scientific articles devoted to the quality of research of personnel management systems (HRMS) in bachelor's theses. In this article, the authors used the methodological scientific approach in the study of final qualification works (WQP) of bachelor students of the Department of Personnel Management and Psychology of the Ural Federal University (UrFU). The methodological scientific approach is based on a quantitative analysis of the application of the following components of the research methodology: theoretical sources, scientific approaches, principles and methods. In the presented work, the purpose of the study is highlighted, which consists in the qualitative and quantitative application of the main components of the methodology for the study of EMS. In the work, the authors applied research methods: the case-method of bachelor's theses, the classification method in the form of tables. One of the tables presents the concept of "research" by leading experts in the study of control systems and one of the authors of this article. The following table summarizes the results of the study. The study also revealed that most often graduates choose the direction of "staff labor motivation" and "personnel training and development" in the organization for research and improvement of the EMS. According to the results of the study of the FQP of diploma students, there are conclusions, on the basis of which the authors of the article have developed recommendations for students and teachers to improve the writing of thesis on personnel management for bachelors.

Resumen
This study aims to determine the various problems and stress coping performed by students in preparing their thesis for STIT Al-Amin Kreo Tangerang students. There are 5 (five) informants involved in this study. The research approach used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and FGD (focus group discussion). The results showed that the problem faced by students who were writing their thesis was between happiness and stress. On the one hand, they feel happy because they have reached the final peak of activities to obtain a bachelor's degree, will finish college, graduate and be able to find work after bachelor's degree. On the other hand, feeling stressed, such as feeling overwhelmed, confused, worried, afraid, insecure, anxious, feeling helpless and helpless or pessimistic, feeling guilty, feeling worried, nervous, feeling very tense, panic, restless, feeling chaotic, arises feelings of fear and anxiety, depressed, embarrassed and sometimes sad, feels tired, tired, upset, bored, bored and feels stuck in the mind. These feelings are caused by internal and external factors. In stress coping, students have strategies that focus on the emotional realm and do not use coping that is focused on problems. A strategy that is considered effective for students in writing a thesis so that the thesis does not become a scary thing.

Resumen
The effectiveness of written feedback in learning is a debatable topic that divides opinion. Many researchers claim that written feedback does not have a significant effect on improving students’ learning achievement. However, many other researchers indicate otherwise. This research aimed to analyze the effect of using focused written feedback (FWF) on students’ writing skills. This research sample consisted of 10 students taught through practice to write a bachelor's thesis proposal. This research employed the equivalent time-series design. Observations were employed in a four-time series. There are four models for the implementation of focused written feedback: task feedback (FT), process feedback (FP), self-regulation feedback (FR), and self-feedback (FS). Then, there are three major questions: what are the goals? (Feed-up), what progress is being made toward the goal? (Feedback), what activities need to be undertaken to make better progress? (Feed-forward). The instruments of this study were written feedback assessment guidelines, and rubrics for assessing writing skills. The researchers had checked both instruments. The result showed that students’ writing skills improved the most in the section where they received the most practice. In conclusion, this study contributed to effective written feedback and provided some implications for lectures.

Resumen
Completion of thesis is a final project that must be done by students as a condition to get a bachelor's degree. This study aims to examine the completion of the thesis based on gender to students majoring in mathematics education in FTIK IAIN Langsa and the obstacles experienced by students. This research is a qualitative research, using descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques namely by interviewing Mathematics Education Students of FTIK IAIN Langsa class of 2015.This study revealed that the completion of the thesis was based on gender (male and female students) are different, the difference can be seen from the level of student speed in completing the thesis. The study shows that female students are more instrinsically motivated than male students, so that the increase in thesis completion charts in a timely manner is more dominated by female students.

The volume, “A brief history of Byzantine libraries”, published by Lumen Publishing House, from Iași, Romania, in 2020, is authored by Silviu-Constantin Nedelcu, a librarian at the Library of the Romanian Academy within the National Bibliography Service. He has two bachelor degrees, one issued by the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "Justinian Patriarch" from Bucharest, specializing in Orthodox Pastoral Theology (2011), followed by a master's degree at the same faculty, and another issued by the University of Bucharest, specializing in Information and Documentation Sciences (2015). The author also has a PhD degree awarded by the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest (2013-2018) with the thesis "The journal" The Churce's Voive": A critical study and bibliographic index". The book is prefaced by Protos. Assist. Prof. PhD. Maxim Vlad from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, covers 128 pages (including bibliography), representing in fact the re-edition of the author's bachelor's thesis, based on a seminar paper regarding the Librarian in the Byzantine Empire (330-1453), defended by the author in 2013 at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest.

In 2014 the Cuban government announced that 24% of the country’s generated electricity will come from renewable energy sources by 2030. In Cuba the emissions have drastically risen over the past decade due to the increasing amount of electricity demand. Today most of the generated electricity is produced by burning oil. To achieve this goal before 2030 major investments in renewable energy will be required. There is also a big concern in Cuba about climate change, as Cuba’s geographical position is very vulnerable to drastic weather changes. This drive efforts towards a more sustainable society, in addition to the economic aspect of being independent of imported oil.   The objective of the study is to evaluate the economical, ecological and social profitability of PV systems in Cuba. The main purpose will consist of making economic and technical calculations using the software Matlab (version R2016a) for the installation of the PV system on the building most suitable at The University of Havana. The study will consider both a PV system with and without energy storage. The PV module that will be investigated in this study is the crystalline silicone cells, since this is the most common used in PV system in Cuba. This is to enable for the university to become partly or completely independent from the electricity generated by the government owned electricity company (UNE). It is important for the university to become independent from the national electricity grid due to the high number of power-cuts and since the electricity company in Cuba regulates how much electricity that can be consumed each month. The project will consider both economic, ecological and social aspects to find the best solution for the installation of PV system at The University of Havana.   The study showed that the most suitable building for a PV system installation is the building of Institute of Science and Technology of Materials. All three orientations examined in this study cover the electricity consumption during an average day and can work as a backup system. The result concluded that the most economical and optimized installation, taking into account the desired function of the PV system for the building of IMRE is an incline angle of 20°, 270 number of installed PV modules and an orientation towards south if installing a PV system with energy storage. The excess electricity from the PV system has assumed to be used for recharging the battery or sold back to the grid for same price as the private PV companies sell electricity for, 0,06-0,07 USD/kWh. It was concluded that the cost of generated electricity from a PV system installed at The University of Havana is 5,5-32,5 % cheaper with battery and without battery the cost is 47,8-62,7 % cheaper than current price of generated electricity at 0,15-0,21 USD/kWh. The result from this study complements other studies done and validates that also smaller PV systems are economical profitable in Cuba. This study has shown that it is economic, ecological and social profitable to install a PV system at The University of Havana.
År 2014 meddelade den kubanska regeringen att 24 % av landets elproduktion ska vid år 2030 komma från förnybara energikällor. På Kuba har utsläppen ökat drastiskt under det senaste decenniet på grund av den ökande efterfrågan på el. Idag produceras majoriteten av den genererade elen från olja och för att uppnå målet om en ökad mängd förnybara energikällor före år 2030 krävs stora investeringar. Det finns en stor oro på Kuba kring klimatförändringarna, på grund av att landets geografiska position är mycket sårbar för drastiska väderförändringar. Detta driver ansträngningarna mot ett mer hållbart samhälle, utöver den ekonomiska aspekten att vara oberoende av importerad olja.   Syftet med studien är att utvärdera PV-systemets ekonomiska, ekologiska och sociala lönsamhet på Kuba. Huvudsyftet kommer att bestå av att göra ekonomiska och tekniska beräkningar med softwareprogrammet Matlab (version 2016a) för installation av PV-systemet på de byggnader som anses lämpligast att installera på. Studien kommer att utvärdera både ett PV-system med och utan energilagring. I denna studie är de kristallina silikoncellerna som tillämpas eftersom dessa är de mest förekommande på Kuba. Installation av ett PV system kommer kunna göra det möjligt för universitetet att bli helt eller delvis oberoende av den el som genereras av det statligt ägda elbolaget (UNE). Det är viktigt för universitetet att bli oberoende av det nationella elnätet på grund av det stora antalet strömavbrott som existerar idag och eftersom Kubas elbolag reglerar hur mycket el som kan konsumeras varje månad. Projektet kommer att överväga både ekonomiskt, sociala och ekologiska aspekter för att finna den bästa lösningen för installation av ett PV-system vid Havannas Universitet.   Studien visade att den lämpligaste byggnaden för en installation av PV-system är på en av byggnaderna som tillhör Institute of Science and Technology of Materials. Alla tre orienteringar för en installation som undersöktes i denna studie täcker elförbrukningen under en genomsnittlig dag och kan även fungera som ett backupsystem. Resultatet visade att den mest ekonomiska och optimala installationen med hänsyn till PV-systemets önskvärda funktion för byggnaden, är en lutningsvinkel på 20 °, en installation på 270 PV-moduler och med en orientering mot söder om PV-systemet installeras med energilagring. Överskottselen från PV systemet har antagits att användas till att ladda upp batterierna eller säljas tillbaka till nätet för samma pris som för privata solcellsföretag säljer för, 0,06–0,07 USD/kWh. Slutsatsen för kostnaden för genererad el från ett PV-system installerat vid Havannas Universitet är att det blir 5,5–32,5% billigare med batteri och utan batteri är kostnaden 47,8–62,7% billigare än nuvarande elproduktion i landet, 0,15-0,21 USD/kWh. Resultatet av denna studie kompletterar andra studier som gjorts och validerar att även mindre installation av PV-system är ekonomiskt lönsamma på Kuba. Denna studie har visat att det är ekonomiskt, ekologiskt och socialt lönsamt att installera ett PV-system vid Havannas Universitet.
Las emisiones de gases de invernaderos en Cuba han aumentado drásticamente en la última década, a causa de la creciente demanda del uso de la electricidad. En la actualidad la mayor parte de la electricidad generada en el país se obtiene por la quema del petróleo. En el año 2014, el gobierno de Cuba se propuso la meta, de que un 24% de la electricidad generada en el país en el 2030, fuese obtenida a partir de las fuentes de energías renovables. Para cumplir este objetivo antes del año 2030, será imprescindible hacer grandes inversiones en nuevas tecnologías para el uso de las fuentes de energías renovables. En Cuba también existe una gran preocupación por el cambio climático debido a las vulnerabilidades de la isla frente a los fenómenos atmosféricos que afectan al país por su situación geográfica. Esto ha incrementado los esfuerzos para alcanzar un desarrollo socioeconómico sostenible y la independencia energética del país. El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar la rentabilidad económica, ecológica y social de los sistemas fotovoltaicos (FV) en Cuba. Para lograr este fin se hacen cálculos económicos y técnicos utilizando el software Matlab versión R2016a para la instalación de los sistemas FV en los edificios de la Universidad de La Habana. El estudio considera ambos tipos de sistemas FV, con y sin almacenamiento de energía. Los módulos FV que se investigan en este trabajo son los basados en celdas solares de silicio cristalino porque estas son las celdas más usadas en los sistemas FV de Cuba. Este proyecto contribuirá a que la universidad se independice parcial o completamente de la electricidad generada en el país. La independencia de la red eléctrica nacional es muy importante para la universidad por la gran cantidad de cortes eléctricos a causa de las regulaciones del consumo energético de cada mes. El proyecto considera los aspectos socioeconómicos y ecológicos para encontrar el sistema FV óptimo en la Universidad de La Habana.   El estudio demuestra que uno de las edificaciones que cumple con las condiciones óptimas para la instalación de un sistema fotovoltaico en la Universidad de La Habana es el edifico central del IMRE. Los aspectos examinados en este estudio consideran el consumo energético promedio en el día y la capacidad de respaldo del sistema FV. Teniendo en cuenta, las características de un sistema FV con almacenamiento de energía en los edificios de IMRE, se concluyó que la instalación óptima y más económica tiene un ángulo de inclinación de 20°, una cantidad de 270 módulos FV instalados y una orientación hacia el sur. Los resultados indicaron que el costo de un sistema FV instalado en la Universidad de La Habana es 5,5-32,5%, más económico con batería, y sin batería el costo es 47,8-62,7% más económico que la electricidad generada actualmente. Estos resultados complementan otros estudios realizados y demuestran que el uso de sistemas FV más pequeños son rentables económicamente en Cuba. Este estudio ha demostrado que la instalación de un sistema FV en la Universidad de La Habana es ecológica, económica y socialmente rentable.

With the increase and popularity of the use of internet, hate speech has reached wider dimensions in societies. This thesis will provide empirical examples to show the relation between speech and actions. This paper will use speech-act theory and social movement theory to portray the relation between hate speech on social media and domestic terrorism inspired by far right extremist. Even though, there has been a lot of work for counter terrorism, domestic terrorism is still overlooked. Empirical sources say that domestic terrorism poses a threat as much as international terrorism. This thesis will bring light over the connections of hate speech and domestic terrorism inspired by far right extremists. It will conclude that there is an evident relation that hate speech on social media is contributing to domestic terrorism actions encouraged by far right extremism.

The objective of this thesis was to investigate organizational changes in a municipal administration. The case in focus for this study has been the labour market administration in the city of Helsingborg. Methods that have been used in this study has been a qualitative approach as well as having conducted for semi structured interviews with public officials. Furthermore, the main theoretical framework in this study has been a neo-institutional theory. The conclusions that this thesis has drawn is that organisations are affected by their surrounding world, both directly and indirectly which is expressed as normative isomorphism, coercive isomorphism and mimetic isomorphism.

Denna C-uppsats analyserar genom kvalitativt innehållsanalytiska metoder utvalda delar av BBC:s bevakning av upploppen i England i augusti 2011. Metodmodellen är egenkonstruerad, men använder element ur kritisk diskursanalys (CDA, Faircloughs tillämpningar), samt delar av de metodverktyg som tas upp i Selby och Cowderys metodhandbok How to Study Television. Materialet undersöks i fyra steg: konstruktion, kategori/genre, inverkan/agency samt diskursiv praktik/nyhetsvärdering. Teorin som tjänar som bas för undersökningen består av litteratur inom ämnesområdet journalistik och samhälle, med stor fokus på relationen dem sinsemellan. Uppsatsens syfte är att belysa hur social skiktning och rådande diskurser spelar in i representationen av olika samhällsgrupper i BBC:s nyhetsrapportering, med rapporteringen kring upploppen som exempel på hur representationen kan se ut. De centrala frågeställningar som uppsatsens analysdel ämnar besvara är hur individer från olika samhällsskikt tilldelas rätten att definiera upploppen, och hur denna tilldelning av definitionsrätt påverkar innehållet i nyhetsinslagen. Vissa avgränsningar görs för undersökningen. Då analysen görs på ett relativt litet urval bestående av tre nyhetsinslag (alla tre är intervjuer) görs i uppsatsen inga anspråk på att dra några slutsatser gällande rapporteringen kring upploppen i stort, eller kring BBC:s rapportering generellt. Från resultaten kan det konstateras att det finns stora skillnader i identitetskonstruktionen av de olika individerna i nyhetsinslagen, och att representation och tillåtelsen till definition av nyhetshändelsen skiljer sig tydligt mellan inslagen. En vit butiksinnehaverska i yngre medelåldern representeras med en stark positiv identitet, och får föra ut sitt budskap fritt och ostört. Hennes definition av händelserna och de inblandade människorna tillåts dominera inslaget totalt och därmed legitimeras. Övriga individer, två unga flickor och en svart journalist i övre medelåldern kommer inte i närheten av att på allvar få definiera händelserna, och representeras betydligt mer negativt och som svagare individer. Resumen
A simple idea can have many different construction solutions and a claw machine is a good machine to try different solutions on. The goal of this thesis was to find out how a claw machine could be created as simple as possible and finding out which parts that were essential in constructing the machine. The claw machine’s shell was built using a laser cutter and details were 3D-printed. With 4 metal rods and two stepper motors the claw machine gantry worked properly. Finally a 3D-printed claw was made and attached to a servo motor and a stepper motor, a functional claw machine had been constructed. The conclusions of this thesis was that stop-sensors were not necessary in the making of the machine as the motors can’t move the claw further than to the edges and risk damaging the machine, step counting with proper belts is an alternative. Further conclusions was that 3D-printed bearings creates too much friction and therefore the gantry can’t operate, and using a fixed timing belt instead of a movable one is to prefer.
En enkel idé kan ha många olika konstruktionslösningar, en klomaskin är ett exempel på en sådan idé som kan fungera som ett exempel att pröva olika konstruktionslösningar på. Målet med det här kandidatexamensarbetet var att undersöka hur en klomaskin kan uppnå sin funktion genom att ta reda på vilka komponenter som är viktigast för att konstruera maskinen. Klomaskinens skal laserskärdes och detaljdelar 3D-printades. Med 4 metallstänger och stegmotorer så fungerade klomaskinens ställning. Slutligen så var klomaskinen konstruerad. Slutsatser av det här kandidatexamensarbetet var att stoppsensorer inte var nödvändiga eftersom motorerna inte kunde föra klon längre än i det begränsade området och riskera att skada maskinen, stegräkning är ett alternativ med kuggremmar som inte slirar. Andra slutsatser var att 3D-utskrivna lager resulterade i mycket friktion och därmed en mekanism som inte fungerade och att använda en fix kuggrem är att föredra över en rörlig.

There is a new beverage container on the market, a bottle made out of pure aluminum as a replacement for the traditional container made out of glass. This new container has the potential to reduce both cost and pollution during transportation, the lighter and stronger construction has every advantage compared to the old one in glass. The new container has every possibility to make it on the market. Some of the biggest brands within the soft drink market already use these bottles in countries without any recycling demands like: Coca-Cola, Heineken and Pepsi. The only thing stopping these brands from the Swedish market is the lack of a functional return system, there is only one company that uses the bottle in Sweden today and they take care of their own used bottles. All their customers get to send in their bottles via postal service and then they transport the bottles to the dump. That system might work when selling an expensive bottle but the cost would far outnumber the profit if Coca-Cola used a similar system.

By offering a system that deals with the bottle from the time of consumption until the aluminum it’s melting in the oven all problems in handling used bottles are eliminated. With a functional return system new brands can enter the market without having to create a system of their own. This way the need grows with the expansion of the bottles.

This report describes how a perfect return system should work and the key areas that make it as efficient as it can ever be. The work effort has been focused on the heart of the project: the machine that’s going to reduce the volume and cut the bottles before transportation. A fully functional prototype has been modified and evaluated in the quest for the optimal cutting force.

With a functional system that helps buyers and users, there is nothing that can stop the new aluminum bottle. It has the potential to completely take over after the glass bottle and eventually compete with the aluminum can.

This thesis deals with design and implementation of new version of web portal for master's thesis supervisioin. The website is written in PHP using Nette framework. The goal of this application is to simplify the work of theses supervisors. The application provides supervisors with overview of students' activity by weekly reports. It allows students to cooperate and share information and motivation. The main reasons for creating a new implementation were improvement and extension of functionality and improvement of user interface and user experience. Results of testing show that all the above-mentioned changes were successful. Users are more satisfied, especially with the user interface.

This bachelor thesis aims to describe the work performed for the design of the undertray for the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan Formula Student(KTHFS) race car. The goal was to achieve an aerodynamically optimized undertray design that follows the regulations of the competition and the targets set by KTHFS concerning the weight, the size, the materials needed for its manufacture and costs. After some research on previous work, the concept, on which we decided that the undertray would rely on, is Venturi tunnels inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie, chosen for its ability to provide a large amount of downforce with a negligible amount of drag using ”ground effect”. Numerous CAD design models were created in Solid Edge and a finalized design was then ported over to Siemens NX to be analyzed using Star-CCM+ and its Design Manager feature. The CFD analyses and optimization was performed in Star-CCM+ with regards to pressure gradient, streamline velocity and downforce. These were done with variable parameters in areas such as expansion height, inlet area and ride height. Contained within this report is a more detailed description of how the CFD analysis was performed as well as suggestions for manufacturing said undertray. Given the time constraints and the societal impacts of COVID-19, manufacturing had to be removed from the scope of the project, however, a step-by-step manufacture guide is provided within. Analysis of uur final design showed 428 N of downforce, a weight of 2.55 kg and a production cost of approximately 2320 SEK. It therefore passes the requirements for weight, cost and ride-height rule regulations set by Formula Student and internal KTHFS targets.
Detta kandidatexamesarbete syftar till att beskriva arbetet som utförts för konstruktionsdesignen av Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan Formula Student (KTHFS) racerbils underrede. Målet var att uppnå en aerodynamisk optimerad underredes design som följer de regler och krav fastställda av KTHFS gällande vikt, storlek, material som behövs till tillverkningen och kostnader. Efter en litteraturstudie på tidigare arbete, blev Venturi tunnlar, inspirerade av Aston Martin Valkyrie, konceptet som vi beslutade att uderreden skulle bygga på och valda på grund av deras förmåga att förbättra bilens prestanda genom sitt nedkraftsbildande och försumbar mängd drag med hjälp av ”ground effect”. Med tanke på tidsbegränsningarna och samhällseffekterna av COVID-19 fick vi ta bort tillverknink från projektets omfattning, men en steg-för-steg tillverkningsguide tillhandahålls i rapporten. Analyser av vår slutgiltiga design visade på 428N downforce, en vikt på 2,55 kg och en produktionskostnad på cirka 2320 SEK. Den överenstämmer därför kraven för vikt, kostnad och frigångshöjd som fastställdes av Formula Student.

Abstract This chapter provides four models of higher education for the year 2030, namely the Tamagotchi, Jenga, Lego Set, and Transformer models. The Tamagotchi model represents the classic approach to higher education, starting right after secondary school and leading up to a bachelor’s or master’s degree and then transitioning into employment, finishing the path of higher education. The Jenga model, while similar to Tamagotchi, appeals to nontraditional students because of its shorter learning span and focuses on later phases of self-learning and -organization. The Lego Set model is fittingly named after the individually combined modules of different sizes, making for a self-reliant and non-standardized learning path rather than one compact unit. The Transformer model represents learners whose initial phase of education may have long passed, but who return to higher education to acquire new basic knowledge or upskill their formal education. It relies on the idea that everyone must have opportunities to leave their current professional paths and change course.

AbstractBecause of the international reputation and positive socioeconomic impacts achieved by US higher education, current efforts at the ‘massification’ of other national systems often look to America for guidance. But with respect to equity of access to bachelor’s degree education, the US possesses a number of limitations. For example, regarding the percentage of young US adults who have completed tertiary education as well as measures of social mobility, the US now trails a number of EU nations. This chapter reviews US research on student access addressing the nature and impacts of US college and university financial aid, the informational and behavioural constraints confronting lower income student applicants, and the effects of higher education affirmative action programmes intended to correct past discrimination. The strengths and weaknesses of these US policies are explored as a possible guide to the design of college and university access policies in other countries.

Resumen
An analysis of the experience of professional training bachelors of electromechanics in Ukraine and abroad made it possible to determine that one of the leading trends in its modernization is the synergistic integration of various engineering branches (mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering and automation) in mechatronics for the purpose of design, manufacture, operation and maintenance electromechanical equipment. Teaching mechatronics provides for the meaningful integration of various disciplines of professional and practical training bachelors of electromechanics based on the concept of modeling and technological integration of various organizational forms and teaching methods based on the concept of mobility. Within this approach, the leading learning tools of bachelors of electromechanics are mobile Internet devices (MID) – a multimedia mobile devices that provide wireless access to information and communication Internet services for collecting, organizing, storing, processing, transmitting, presenting all kinds of messages and data. The authors reveals the main possibilities of using MID in learning to ensure equal access to education, personalized learning, instant feedback and evaluating learning outcomes, mobile learning, productive use of time spent in classrooms, creating mobile learning communities, support situated learning, development of continuous seamless learning, ensuring the gap between formal and informal learning, minimize educational disruption in conflict and disaster areas, assist learners with disabilities, improve the quality of the communication and the management of institution, and maximize the cost-efficiency. Bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects is a personal and vocational ability, which includes a system of knowledge, skills, experience in learning and research activities on modeling mechatronic systems and a positive value attitude towards it; bachelor of electromechanics should be ready and able to use methods and software/hardware modeling tools for processes analyzes, systems synthesis, evaluating their reliability and effectiveness for solving practical problems in professional field. The competency structure of the bachelor of electromechanics in the modeling of technical objects is reflected in three groups of competencies: general scientific, general professional and specialized professional. The implementation of the technique of using MID in learning bachelors of electromechanics in modeling of technical objects is the appropriate methodic of using, the component of which is partial methods for using MID in the formation of the general scientific component of the bachelor of electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects, are disclosed by example academic disciplines “Higher mathematics”, “Computers and programming”, “Engineering mechanics”, “Electrical machines”. The leading tools of formation of the general scientific component of bachelor in electromechanics competency in modeling of technical objects are augmented reality mobile tools (to visualize the objects’ structure and modeling results), mobile computer mathematical systems (universal tools used at all stages of modeling learning), cloud based spreadsheets (as modeling tools) and text editors (to make the program description of model), mobile computer-aided design systems (to create and view the physical properties of models of technical objects) and mobile communication tools (to organize a joint activity in modeling).

Resumen
Analysis of the standards for the preparation of electromechanics in Ukraine showed that the electromechanic engineer is able to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems in a certain area of professional activity or in the process of study. These problems are characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. The main competencies include social-personal, general-scientific, instrumental, general-professional and specialized-professional. A review of scientific publications devoted to the training of electromechanics has shown that four branches of engineering are involved in the training of electromechanical engineers: mechanical and electrical engineering (with a common core of electromechanics), electronic engineering and automation. The common use of the theory, methods and means of these industries leads to the emergence of a combined field of engineering – mechatronics. Summarizing the experience of electrical engineers professional training in Ukraine and abroad makes it possible to determine the main directions of their professional training modernization.

Between the winter semester 2017/18 and the summer semester 2020, more than 4,500 international bachelor’s and master’s students from 125 universities were surveyed about their study and living situation in Germany. Resumen
This article demonstrates that mathematics in the system of higher education has outgrown the status of the general education subject and should become an integral part of the professional training of future bachelors, including economists, on the basis of intersubject connection with special subjects. Such aspects as the importance of improving the scientific and methodological support of mathematical training of students by means of digital technologies are revealed. It is specified that in order to implement the task of qualified training of students learning econometrics and economic and mathematical modeling, it is necessary to use digital technologies in two directions: for the organization of electronic educational space and in the process of solving applied problems at the junction of the branches of economics and mathematics. The advantages of using e-learning courses in the educational process are presented (such as providing individualization of the educational process in accordance with the needs, characteristics and capabilities of students; improving the quality and efficiency of the educational process; ensuring systematic monitoring of the educational quality). The unified structures of “Econometrics”, “Economic and mathematical modeling” based on the Moodle platform are the following ones. The article presents the results of the pedagogical experiment on the attitude of students to the use of e-learning course (ELC) in the educational process of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University and Alfred Nobel University (Dnipro city). We found that the following metrics need improvement: availability of time-appropriate mathematical materials; individual approach in training; students’ self-expression and the development of their creativity in the e-learning process. The following opportunities are brought to light the possibilities of digital technologies for the construction and research of econometric models (based on the problem of dependence of the level of the Ukrainian population employment). Various stages of building and testing of the econometric model are characterized: identification of variables, specification of the model, parameterization and verification of the statistical significance of the obtained results.

This exploratory study set out to evaluate how well a particular course in automotive engineering is set up to enable students to develop skills necessary to enter the workplace. The research set out to identify trends in student expectations and in the needs of employers at a time when this field of work is characterised by disruptive technological developments such as computerisation and automation. The intended outcome of the research is that the findings will assist the critical thinking of course designers as they reflect on modifications that might be necessary for Unitec Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) graduate attributes to fully meet future workplace demands. It is also an aim that this exploratory evaluation of a small cohort of students can, despite its limitations, identify trends for future pedagogical research in the ITP (Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics) sector. Although not a full course evaluation, this study invited feedback from students and recent graduates in relevant employment regarding the alignment of the Unitec Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) course design with their perceptions of skills necessary in the workplace. Another intention was to highlight any misalignments between the realities of the automotive engineering sector and student expectations of the course: To what degree are work capability expectations in agreement between the student stakeholders and the institution? Are the course goals realistic and in line with actual industry needs? How is the definition of work readiness changing? The paper also samples current speculative thinking about skills that are becoming progressively more important in the workplace, namely the so-called ‘soft skills’ in communication, problem solving, management and collaboration, and in dialogic and creative attributes relevant to increasingly automated and globalised workplaces.

Bridging the skills gap is necessary to increase productivity and equity. In Latin America and the Caribbean, this challenge has manifested in high rates of youth unemployment, informality, and inactivity. Traditional higher education has struggled to respond to this challenge, with rising costs limiting access and poor outcomes forcing students to question the value of a university degree. In this paper, we explore a model for collaboration between higher education providers and employers designed to overcome these challenges. In this co-op model, students earn a bachelors degree in three years, while also working part-time during the second and third years. This model provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to become broad, interdisciplinary thinkers, while also giving them valuable work experience for which they earn credit while pursuing their degree. Economic constraints are addressed by students degrees being partly subsidized by an employer, who benefits by easily hiring employees who can fill their most critical human resource needs.

In the article, the problems of using the systems of computer mathematics (SCM) as a tool to support the teaching and research activities in the field of informatics and mathematics disciplines training are investigated. The role of SCM in the process of bachelors of informatics training and special aspects of pedagogical applications of these systems in the “Operations research” study is defined. The aim of the article is the justification of the Maxima system use of in the process of “Operations research” teaching in pedagogical university as enchasing the investigative approach to learning and determination of the perspective ways of its introduction. The main characteristics of SCM Maxima and the ways of access organizing to it both in local and the cloud-oriented implementation are considered. The results of the pedagogical experiment on the Maxima application to support the investigative approach to operation research study and the analysis of its conclusions are reported.

The promising ways of providing access to the mathematical software in the university learning and research environment are considered. The special aspects of pedagogical applications of these systems to support operations research study in the process of bachelors of informatics training are defined. The design and evaluation of the cloud-based learning components with the use of the systems of computer mathematics (on the example of Maxima system) as enchasing the investigative approach to learning of engineering and mathematics disciplines and increasing the pedagogical outcomes is justified. The set of psychological and pedagogical and also technological criteria of evaluation is substantiated. The results of pedagogical experiment are provided. The analysis and evaluation of existing experience of mathematical software use both in local and cloud-based settings is proposed.

The results of the pedagogical experiment on MAXIMA application to support the fundamental component of learning in the course of “Operation research” study and the analysis of its results are reported.

Deferred feedback on summative assessments can demotivate students and affect their overall learning performance, and it can change their study routines. The aim of this study is to compare and analyse students’ perceptions about summative and formative regular feedback: whether they are better motivated by being given marks, or by regular feedback without any marks. All participants were students from a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) degree at a New Zealand tertiary institute. Three courses were selected across three different levels of the BCS, and the sample group included 272 students from five different semesters. Summative (with marks) and formative (with feedback only) weekly quizzes were introduced in 2017, with the aim of providing early, regular feedback to students. Participants in the study were divided into two groups: students who were doing formative, and those who were doing summative quizzes. In each group, the majority of students indicated that they were happy and positive about getting regular feedback in the form of quizzes, and they appreciated the quiz questions and time spent as a way to adjust and enhance their learning. There was no real difference in students’ subjective evaluations and individual perceptions between those who had summative and those who had formative quizzes. The existence of quizzes, and the results, were important for students as weekly feedback and it didn’t matter whether marks were attached to these weekly feedback activities or not. More studies are needed to determine what type of questions could better influence students’ learning outcomes.
