Resumen
Abstract This article analyses a fragment from Reynaerts historie (vv. 4132-65) in which Reynaert the fox presents himself as a mystic. The contents of this passage can be linked with texts and ideas of a heretical movement, called "Brethren and Sistern of the Free Spirit". It is argued that this is one of the moments in the story in which Reynaert falsely presents a positive image of his motives. He lies here (again) by telling the truth, albeit not the whole truth. A short discussion of the way this passage was reworked in the later, European tradition of Reynaerts historie concludes the article.

Resumen
When identifying the ‘catalyst for disaffection’ and the ‘trigger for individual secessions’ from the Establishment in the early nineteenth century, Grayson Carter recently concluded that ‘theological “extremism” was probably a more significant irritant than pastoral exasperation’. It is nevertheless evident that episcopal restraints on any ecclesiastical ‘irregularities’ and the dubious spiritual credentials of some of those controlling the appointment of both higher and lower clergy were also significant factors in the discontent of many who seceded in the 1830s. A quest for freedom from such constraints therefore often accompanied the special doctrinal emphases of those who would sooner or later quit the establishment. This was particularly true of the seceders known as the Plymouth Brethren whose congregations proliferated in the 1830s and ‘40s. With clerical ordination abandoned as unscriptural, their meetings came to be noted for spontaneous prayer and exhortation by any member of the congregation, but such an ‘institutionalizing’ of unprogrammed participation was liable to attract ‘free spirits’ whose orthodoxy and ‘manners’ could be questionable. This paper considers the way in which the precise doctrinal convictions and conservative social assumptions of such seceders could come into conflict with, and sometimes, at least for a while, keep at bay some of the elements unleashed by their professed desire for ecclesiastical freedom. Of particular interest is the interplay of social and doctrinal motivation.

This thesis reflects on how a philosophical approach to learning could be developed, its importance in the current context and the aims that justify this proposal as a way of teaching. The analysis explores Nietzsche s and Gadamer s work, authors who start from a perspectivist and interpretative standpoint on knowledge. However, they wrote in different historical periods and, consequently, developed different educational proposals. A panoramic introduction on the hermeneutical perspective intends to contextualize and to clarify the historical and philosophical connections between both authors. The next stage of the analysis is to confront Nietzsche s and Gadamer s ideas about language and the prior knowledge that configures our historical tradition, both of which constitute fundamental features for any analysis of knowledge and education. The concept of education (formation) then establishes the focus of the rest of this work. Nietzsche s and Gadamer s proposals for education are contrasted in relation to their contextualized analyses and the objectives each one defends for education. Based on this discussion, a decision becomes possible about which philosophical approach is justified as a basis for teaching nowadays. The thesis then delimits such a philosophical approach and emphasizes which aspects and practices should constitute the learning experience that appropriates the proposed philosophical approach as an ideal.

Resumen
This thesis consists of a series of encounters with textual figures, or conceptual personae, which are strongly associated with freedom in Nietzsche???s oeuvre. The conceptual persona, drawn from the work of Deleuze and Guattari, is an integral part of the process of developing and articulating philosophical concepts. Nietzsche???s texts abound with figures, both anthropomorphic and otherwise. I suggest that regarding these figures as conceptual personae in the Deleuzo-Guattarian sense offers a way into some of Nietzsche???s most complex ideas. Freedom surely ranks among Nietzsche???s most multifaceted and teasingly elusive ideations. It has not, however, benefited from the intensive scholarship devoted to signature Nietzschean themes such as will to power, nihilism, or eternal return. This thesis seeks to raise the profile of Nietzsche???s innovations on the subject of freedom by means of close readings of texts featuring three conceptual personae of Nietzschean freedom. These are the free spirit, the sovereign individual, and Zarathustra. These three personae embody freedom as plural and processual. They animate a conception of freedom as something to be striven for, and, indeed, striven for differently by different individuals. Highlighting the infinite variability of embodied freedom, each persona problematises freedom in a distinctly different manner. The free spirit, understood as representing the intersection between freedom and truth, is a primarily epistemological figure. The sovereign individual, who transvaluates bad conscience into good by means of a masterly praxis of promising, instantiates a novel reconstruction of Kantian autonomy as is thus an ethico-political figure. Zarathustra bodies forth an ontology of freedom based on creative willing. A detailed study of the complex interaction of the three conceptual personae of freedom is beyond the scope of this project. I outline the contours of such a study in the concluding chapter, arguing that the reverberations between the three figures offer a further demonstration, if that were still needed, of the rich originality of Nietzsche???s thought of freedom.

The objective of the present work is to explore Nietzsche’s concept of free spirit. To comprehend that concept we will first atempt to understand the distinction Nietzsche establishes between romantic pessimism end dionisiac pessimism and, therefor, Nietzsche’s description of the two types of pessimists in humanity, those suffering an impoverishment of life and those suffering an abundance of life. Breaking from the philosophy of Schopenhauer, Nietzsche invents the free spirits to whom he dedicates his philosophy. Nietzsche calls them the philosophers of the future, those who will have the inclination to comprehend what is perspectivism in each evaluation, as well as to apprehend the necessary injustice of all pros and cons. They must take into account the problem of hierarchy, in others words, that which throughout history we learned to feel as worth. Self cultivation, therefor, implicates the flowering of the free spirit. To achieve this, cultural conditions are mixed with aspects of instinctive life singularities that result in the modeling, the formation of the spirit. “Free spirit’s natural history” is a laconic fragment that gives us the opportunity to issue a commentary about the morality of customs and the history of moral feelings. Convinced of this invention, it is apprehend that Nietzsche’s philosophy constantly imposes the contrast between the individual and the politic, thus revealing the necessity to affirm it vehemently as an alternative to any situation that does not consider the possibilities of individual growth, or that weakens individual nature, both situations verified and proved with the nihilism of modern ideas. With the free spirit one hopes to take a step forward into the knowledge and the overcoming of moral.

Texto completo
Resumen
Temperature is a key process variable at any nuclear power plant (NPP). The harsh reactor environment causes all sensor properties to drift over time. At the higher temperatures of advanced NPPs the drift occurs more rapidly. Johnson noise is a fundamental expression of temperature and as such is immune to drift in a sensor’s physical condition. In and near the core, only Johnson noise thermometry (JNT) and radiation pyrometry offer the possibility for long-term, high-accuracy temperature measurement due to their fundamental natures. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) place a higher value on long-term stability in their temperature measurements in that they produce less power per reactor core and thus cannot afford as much instrument recalibration labor as their larger brethren. The purpose of the current ORNL-led project, conducted under the Instrumentation, Controls, and Human-Machine Interface (ICHMI) research pathway of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced SMR Research and Development (R&D) program, is to develop and demonstrate a drift free Johnson noise-based thermometer suitable for deployment near core in advanced SMR plants.

Resumen
Education is the key in mankind’s journey towards a free, just, and peaceful world; nevertheless, education policies fail to make the top of the lists containing government priorities. Taking into account Jacques Delors’ approach regarding the Four Pillars of Education, which appeared for the first time on the 1991 UNESCO Report, and in an attempt to address the need for socially-responsible global citizens, this paper looks at learning to transform as an additional pillar that can help anchor the educational experience in all aspects of the person’s life. The article explores the function of education, revises Delors’ contribution, attempts to define the renewed spirit of transformation, and explores learning to transform in four distinct stages: learn, reason, act, and reflect. It is through transformation and self-transformation that the learner can alternatively become a teacher while forging relations in groups of people.

Resumen
The higher education institutions use scientific and multidisciplinary electronic publication with an anonymous review process and free access to spread technical and scientific knowledge. The Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (IPB) has two electronic journals with the aim of provoking, in young people, the search for wisdom, scientific spirit, respect for authorship and boosting reading and writing skills. This paper presents an exploratory research that evaluated the student's production and publication from IPB by applying a questionary about scientific literacy in the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Participated 102 individuals, majority women, with Portuguese nationality, undergraduate students from Higher School of Education of IPB. The analysis revealed that 71 (69,6%) students have difficulties linked to reading and comprehension skills, just as 82 (80,4%) with scientific writing. That aspect may concern a shortage that debate characteristics of scientific reading, interpretation, and publication. Also, 85 (83.3%) students had not yet published any article, which may require scientific literacy for a better understanding of the scientific method. However, it was possible to note several other types of production developed within the scope of school activities, which may come to stimulate scientific literacy.

Resumen
The Mars Exploration Rover Spirit will henceforth be a stationary science platform, as its current mobility capabilities have been unable to free it from a sand trap for several months. Mobility systems of future planetary exploration robots will need to reduce risk of entrapment, access more challenging terrain, and cover more ground than ever before. This work presents a novel center-of-gravity (CoG) control algorithm, designed to increase rover mobility over step obstacles. The control algorithm is applied to a mobile robot platform featuring a reconfigurable chassis / suspension system. The 6-wheeled platform is equipped with active wheel-walking degrees of freedom in addition to driving, steering, and passive suspension DoFs typical for such robots. The controller is based on a new concept introduced here, the Contact-Angle Adjusted Support Plane, and uses wheel-ground contact angles to place the CoG such that weight acting on wheels encountering difficult local terrain is reduced. Mobility analysis, using the detailed multibody dynamics simulator RCAST (Rover Chassis Analysis and Simulation Tool), shows that the control algorithm dramatically improves step-climbing ability. The CoG controller can increase the height of obstacle surmountable by a factor of 2 to 3. Wheel-step interaction modes, joint angle limits for wheel-walking DoFs, and other practical mechanical considerations are discussed in the context of a hardware prototype of the studied chassis design.

Resumen
Many countries have followed economic reform policies as a result of the debt problem in 1982. Many countries have shifted from a planned economy towards a free economy by following economic reform programs with the help of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Iraq introduced some aspects of economic reform in the nineties of the last century. But without the intervention of any of the two international institutions, and these reforms were very simple, but the political change in (2003) and the rise in foreign debts on Iraq as a result of wars and economic siege led Iraq to follow economic reform programs with the help of the two international organizations in (2004), now and after ( 18) years to follow these policies, Iraq still did not achieve the desired goals of these reforms, especially with regard to economic diversification, so the study’s goal came to show the reasons that led to the failure of economic reforms to achieve their goals with regard to diversifying the Iraqi economy and what are the measures that must be taken to solve this is the problem. The study assumed that the main reason for not achieving economic diversification is the incorrect application of economic reform policies and the failure to benefit from its returns in improving the structure of the economy. The study used the analytical method by analyzing the data of the oil and non-oil economic sectors and the extent of their contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP), public revenues and exports. The study reached conclusions, the most important of which is that one of the reasons for the lack of economic diversification is the weakness of internal security and the lack of attention to infrastructure, especially in the agricultural sector, which led to high production costs and thus the exit of many producers from the production cycle and their search for government jobs with high returns for them if compared to the returns of their products of high cost. As for the most important proposals, they are concerned with providing internal security in Iraq by providing opportunities for workers in the private sector by encouraging the private sector to produce by creating a spirit of competition between private sector companies by licensing the public sector to carry out privatization processes and leaving the private sector to produce with higher efficiency. These measures are enough to achieve economic diversification and work to reduce prices and improve production technology.

Many countries have followed economic reform policies as a result of the debt problem in 1982. Resumen
Stochastic music, developed last century by Xenakis, has older avatars, like Mozart, who showed how to compose minuets by tossing dice, in a similar way that contemporary choreographer Cunningham took apart the structural elements of what was considered to be a cohesive choreographic work (including movement, sound, light, set and costume) and reconstructed them in random ways. We intend to explore an enactive and experiential analogue of stochastic music, in the realm of dance, where the poetry of a choreographic spatial/floor pattern is elicited by a mathematical stochastic process, to wit a random walk – a stochastic dance of sorts. Among many possible random walks, we consider two simple examples, embodied in the following scenarios, proposed to the students/dancers: - a frog, jumping randomly on a row of stones, choosing right and left as if tossing a coin, - a person walking randomly on a square grid, starting a given node, and choosing each time randomly, equally likely N, S, E or W, and walking non-stop along the corresponding edge, up to the next node, and so on.When the dancers encounter these situations, quite natural questions arise for the choreographer, like: Where will the walker/dancer be after a while? Several ideas for a choreography emerge, which are more complex than just having one or more dancers perform the random walk, and which surprisingly turn our random process into a deterministic one!For instance, for the first random walk, 16 dancers start at the same node of a discrete line on the stage, and execute, each one, a different path of the 16 possible 4 – jump paths the frog can follow. They would need to agree first on how to carry this out. Interestingly, they may proceed without a Magister Ludi handing out scripts to every dancer. After arriving to their end node/position, they could try to retrace their steps, to come back all to the starting node.Analogously for the grid random walk, where we may have now 16 dancers enacting the 16 possible 2-edge paths of the walker. The dancers could also enter the stage (the grid or some other geometric pattern to walk around), one by one, sequentially, describing different random paths, or deterministic intertwined paths, in the spirit of Beckett’s Quadrat. Also, the dancers could choose their direction ad libitum, after some spinning, each time, on a grid-free stage, but keeping the same step length, as in statistician Pearson’s model for a mosquito random flight. We are interested in various possible spin-offs of these choreographies, which intertwine dance and mathematical cognition: For instance, when the dancers choose each one a different path, they will notice that their final distribution on the nodes is uneven (interesting shapes emerge). In this way, just by moving, choreographer and dancers can find a quantitative answer to the impossible question: where will the walker/dancer be after a while? Indeed, the percentage of dancers ending up at each node gives the probability of the random walker landing there.

Resumen
Through the multiplicity of different actors, smart cities offer many physical and digital touchpoints where interactions with customers can occur for the creation and delivery of smart services. Integrating these touchpoints at different levels offers the potential to foster innovation and stimulate service creation by bringing together different resources. At present, however, service production and delivery in cities is mostly highly parcelled out and isolated by individual providers. A strong competitive spirit is particularly evident in the use of the multitude of data in smart cities, due to its high value when being transformed into valuable smart services. The isolated consideration of services can be one of the central weaknesses of today's cities, leading to a declining attractiveness as a place to stay and consume. Increasing online competition, related changing consumer behavior, and the COVID-19 pandemic are leading to a growing decoupling of work, leisure and shopping from physical locations and thus from the city as a place where services are provided. To strengthen the development of a city, it is necessary to attract customers back by making the experience attractive as a combination of different value contributions, e.g. integrating retail services with smart solutions for the search of nearby free parking spaces, toward an integrated customer experience in cities. Meanwhile it has been argued that customer experience in cities is more holistic than the experience in single service encounters, there is a lack in research in exploring how customer experience in cities can be conceptualized. In this work, we therefore present city experience as an integrative concept which bundles the experiences from various activities in the city toward a holistic customer experience. Following the Design Science Research process suggested by Peffers et al. (2007), examining smart service literature in the field of smart cities and 141 real-world smart city services from the perspective of their contribution to customer experience, we develop a conceptual model which depicts the central determinants of city experience. Our model deepens knowledge in the field of consumer-oriented value creation in smart cities providing an integrative perspective on customer experience, smart cities and smart services. We consider our insights significant for research, as our integrative framework deepens the understanding of a holistic customer experience as a solution to the above-described problems. It provides a basis to further theorize on customer experience in smart cities and on how to design and integrate smart services to create it. Further, our work can help practitioners involved in smart cities in the design of new smart services as well as the evaluation of existing services with respect to their contribution to the city experience. Accordingly, this integrative perspective on smart city services organizes the state of the art of smart service research in a novel way and enhances understanding on the role of smart services to contribute to an overall customer experience. By taking on this view, our research provides important perspectives and results that could significantly contribute to solving the ongoing challenges according to a city’s attractiveness and development.
