This study examines 12 copper alloy oil lamps in Demre Museum, which were identified as bronze due to the lack of chemical analysis. Three of the oil lamps (Cat. No. 1, Cat. No. 4 and Cat. No. 5) were found in mixed contexts during scientific archaeological excavations, while the other nine oil lamps entered the museum's inventory through purchase or forced acquisition. Since there is no link between the lamps, the order of examination is based on the chronology provided by similar examples, which help to date the lamps. The article publishes children’s burials, investigated in 2007 and 2009. in Kerch, on the site of the Bosporan necropolis in the Bosphorus Lane. Ordinary townspeople were buried in the necropolis at the end of the 6th—8th centuries. Children, as well as adults, were buried in graves with slab-lined sides and covered with several slabs on top. In some graves, crosses are cut on the slabs. Many of the children’s burials contain clothing accessories and jewelry worn during life. Bronze bells were found only in children’s burials, intended to protect against evil forces.

Abstract The role of microstructure on the cavitation behavior of as-cast nickel aluminum bronze was studied in seawater. The cavitation tests were made under free corrosion and cathodic protection conditions, using a 20 kHz ultrasonic vibrator. In the presence of cavitation, the rate of mass loss was 186 times that under quiescent condition. When cathodic protection was applied, the rate became less than that under free corrosion condition by 47 %. Abstract Cast nickel aluminum bronzes (NAB) are widely used in propellers and in submarine seawater handling systems. However, they are susceptible to corrosion, especially selective phase corrosion (SPC), at welds and under marine growth. This leads to high repair or replacement costs. A first step in reducing these costs is to understand the effect of local environmental factors. &lt;p&gt;In Japan, unseating prevention cables are often installed as earthquake-resistant devices to prevent the fallout of bridges due to the loss of bridge support during large earthquakes. When the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake occurred, the unseating prevention cable was damaged and broken. Damage traces on the cable indicated that the damage was likely caused by interference with the end cross beam. In this study, the influence on strength behaviour in tensile tests was investigated by partially simulating damage on the test cables through wire scratching. The undamaged cable broke at 196.65

The current article focuses on a study about Estonians and Russians living in Estonia. As a method we used Identity Structure Analysis (ISA) to investigate their patterns of identification with 'Estonians', 'Russians in Estonia', 'Russians in Russia', and 'Estonian Government'. The list of evaluated neutron data libraries in Geant4 format distributed by the IAEA nuclear data service has been updated with six new releases: JEFF-3.3, JEFF-3.2, ENDF/B-VIII.0, ENDF/B-VII.1, BROND-3.1 and JENDL-4.0u (version 2016/1/6). In this report we provide some information concerning the transformation of these six new releases from the ENDF-6 data format into the Geant4 format. In addition, we present a comparison between results obtained with Geant4 and MCNP6 when using these libraries.
