Texto completoDoes the traditional african religion usually named animism, impose itself as a principle of unification, a whole part including every thing for the african students of caen ? questioning about the religions feelings of these ones would be as postulating the hypothesis that african students -, convert to islam or christianism on the hand keeping a deep attachement to traditional religions values, on the other hand this affection is one force among others new ones, like scientific statement, the rational organisation of existence, what revealed religions bring to us. The survey, the observation of attitudes and behavior, lead to, confirm that in a general sense, thoses being questioned, recognize and accept the religions fact and the religiosity of the african. Here the attachement to moral and religions values is basic : it's about the respect to the ancestors, the duty of hospitality, solidarity and tolerance, etc. . . For same people being investigated, the relation to animism expressed in terme of exchange and not in terms of a vhole register. Henceforth, the modern rationality and technics are taken into account of thein, context. If we one cannot make any forecasting on the future of animism - traditional structures are collapsing. .

Texto completoIn the beginning of the seventeenth century, the action of pious circles allowed proliferation of women's monasteries in a diocese where protestantism had been very important among the nobility. To the abbaye-aux-dames and Saint-Laurent convent of Cordillon, founded in middle ages, were added communities from traditionnal and counter-reformation's orders. The communities settled in the diocese with the support of local notables, who could reconcile devotion and patrimonial interest. The number of nuns continued to increase up to the beginning of the eighteenth century. Then, starting in 1720, the spread of jansenism and economic difficulties, linked to the law system, produced a durable slackening of recruitment due to the withdrawal of traditional elites. At the end of the century, the communities were restored by the influx of urban middle class and rural elites. Women's monasteries, forever isolated behind their walls, were organised in societies apart from the world. Rules and constitutions, specific to each order, anticipated every contingency of material and spiritual life. By the end of the eighteenth century, despite the mounting disregard of the progressive elite for women's convents, female monastic life was still accepted and recognized by the majority of people in the diocese, thus permitting its rapid recovery and expansion after the Revolution

Texto completoThe recent evolution of towns in developed countries is particularly marked by a devitalization fo their town-centres, which is evidenced… Much at the population level (leavings towards the country) as at the activity level (out lying relocalizations…). The suburbs of Caen which counted 200000 inhabitants in 1990 is the theatre of a series of transformations which affect the whole components of the urban space. This dynamic is apprehended through leveral major axis (socio-demographic, political, spatial…) which complementarity allows to understand how and why the urban space is changed. This latter is studied as a whole, insofar as the town-centre transformations affect the other comprenents of the suburb. The result is a reinfercement of town socio-spatial division with the rising of three major poles : from one part, the town-centre and from the over part the north and the west of the suburb ; two poles which registers the most significant changings

Texto completoThe story of caen in the eleventh and twelfth centuries is that of the rise of a genuine town, in connection with the will of the dukes of normandy specially william the bastard later the conqueror who built a castle, an enclosure and two abbeys. The burgh of caen, founded in the eleventh century, even perhaps by william himself, is the base of this developement. The sources permit to reconstitute its contents (organization and growth of urban space, development of economical activities and political importance) and to study the diverse parts of the urban society

Texto completoThis work delves into the progressive professionalization of nurses by studying care-taking congregations in the Calvados area. The chosen time frame is 1804 (with the return of religious nurses to hospitals after the French revolution) to 2009 (year of the “HPST” French law or “Hospital, Patient, Health, Territory” law and of the latest reform of nurses’ training in Calvados hospitals). This study is a diachronic analysis of the activity and working context of nurses with an emphasis on the central notion of professionalization. Are today’s lay nurses the inheritresses of these religious caretakers in terms of professional training and activity? This historical research, based on archival documents, describes the working environment of nurses: hospital organizations, technological evolutions and the transformation of their training. Their activity is detailed through historical data and interviews with past nun nurses, the last witnesses of a bygone era. Finally, this analysis identifies four historical periods in the evolution of nursing and determines continuities and disruptions in the history of nursing, from care to cure

Texto completoThe laws which were enacted in france since 1982, namly the laws which were enacted on march 2nd 1982, january 7th and july 22th 1983, are introducing a new dimension in the relations between the state and local authorities. The objective is to guarantee local autonomy on a threefold basis : -1 a complete reorganization of departemental and regional structures through the transfer of services. -2 the strengthening of departemental and regional authority through the transfer of executive power and a redistribution of competences between the state and local authorities. -3 the replacement of administrative supervision by judicial control. Nevertheless, although this reform has been a success in france, its effect has been rather moderate in the department of calvados. Several factors have been responsible for lessening its effects. These laws have been consecrating previous departemental action in the field of decentralization

Texto completoWestern France farmers used to distillate their cider in order to obtain a local apple brandy usually called “Goutte”. For a long time, this product had no other ambition than being consumed in the family circle, given as a salary to agricultural workers, or proposed to visitors. The manufacture of Calvados is rooted in regional traditional habits. At the same time, it is a mean to use the huge amounts of apples or pears generously given by nature to this wet and fresh soil of Normandy, especially in Pays d’Auge. However this crafty local production suddenly grew up to be known out of the region and even across the borders. The name “Calvados” itself has turned into a familiar word and belongs now to the renowned alcohol register. The purpose of this thesis is to understand how this alcohol left anonymity and to outline the major steps of its development. . Closely linked to the story of its region, Calvados was granted with benefit factors leading to an industrialized production. But it also had to overcome obstacles before accessing to the label of origin called “appellation d’origine controlée”. This label of origin is considered to be the starting point for a new development. The period goes from 1860, which is the date of first distilleries, to 1960, the year in which the hereditary privilege for home distiller was abolished
