Resumen
This paper analyzes the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on a small tourism dependent open economy. The lockdown affected both the demand side and the supply side of the economy, as production of goods and services dramatically dropped due to firms’ shutdowns, broken supply chains, or bankruptcies, and aggregate demand diminished due to lower consumer confidence and investment cutbacks, accompanied by a dramatic fall in international tourism demand, in particular due to travel restrictions. We look on these supply and demand changes through the lens of a macroeconomic model of a small open economy, comprising an industrial and a tourism sector. For this purpose, we modify Schubert’s (2013) model by introducing a multiple shock which reflects (i) reduced sectoral productivities due to, e.g., broken supply chains, (ii) a drop in employment due to firms’ lockdowns, and (iii) a sharp decline in international tourism demand. We find that the multiple shock leads to an immediate drop in GDP and a boost of the short-run unemployment rate, followed by a gradual transition back to steady state. The adverse effects on the tourism sector are the more severe the slower international tourism demand reverts to pre-crisis levels, but they do not strongly spill over to the industrial sector. Furthermore, even if international tourism demand recovers quickly, the effects on the industrial sector barely change. The length of the industrial sector’s recovery basically depends on the speed of restoring its sectoral productivity rather than on international tourism demand. The reason for this result can be found in the absorbing effect of the relative price of tourism services in terms of the industrial good.

Background: In December of 2019 a novel coronavirus was discovered in Wuhan, China. In March of 2020 the WHO declared a global pandemic regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The viral infection caused ARDS, which resulted in a number of patients requiring assisted mechanical ventilation. The high influx of patients in need of intensive care, quickly exceeded the capacity of the Intensive Care Units (ICU: s). This in turn increased the workload of intensive care unit nurses, leading to a reallocation of registered nurses and nurse anesthetists to increase the workforce.  Purpose: To describe the experiences of an intensive care unit nurse working with patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in an intensive care unit.   Method: The method was based on an integrated literature study. A total of nine articles were included and a content analysis according to Graneheim and Lundman (2004) was implemented.  Findings: The nurses reported several different experiences regarding intensive care of patients diagnosed with COVID-19. These were presented under the theme “To keep moving forward despite adversity”. The theme was further subcategorised into four different categories; “Physical and psychological execration”, “To feel alone”, “Fear for the virus” and “Sense of belonging”.   Conclusion: The organizational changes imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic caused ethical dilemmas and moral distress. The civil society provided the ICU nurses with a strong incentive to continue to provide care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

Around 58% of tourists arrive at their destination by air and the stop in air traffic has created a massive negative effect on that industry as well. Over $630 billion in reduced GDP benefits from air travel-related tourism will be matched with 26.4 million jobs lost. But tourism in a wider sense is also very hard-hit, with analysis suggesting the pandemic could translate into a drop of 850 million to 1.1 billion international tourists and a loss of $910 billion to $1.2 trillion in export revenues from tourism, putting 100 to 120 million direct tourism jobs at risk.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between individuals different time perspectives (TP), movement in their community and amount of psychical contacts in relation to the national recommendations about physical distancing during the COVID-19-pandemic. A study (n = 52) was conducted with the purpose of collecting basic information about the participants along with a measure of their respective TP using the short version of the Swedish Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (S-ZTPI). After recruitment, daily questionnaires were sent to each participant during a week to collect data about their daily activities involving e.g. movement and social interactions. A quantitative measure was analyzed using participants number of places visited in their community along with the amount of physical contacts during a week’s participation. The hypothesis of this thesis was that participants score on the FP-dimension from the S-ZTPI would be negatively related to the number of places visited and the amount of physical contacts. In contrast, participants PH-score was expected to be positively related with number of places visited and the amount of physical contacts. The results showed no significant relation between neither TP (PH and FP) and activity or TP and physical contacts during a week’s participation in the study.

Dealing with the consequences of climate change is one of humanity's greatest challenges.Researchers, advocates and other actors have long tried to communicate to the public aboutclimate change, but it seems to be more difficult than expected. A paradox has arisen whichmeans that the more facts that are presented, the less concern. A clear example of where andhow it can be expressed is in the media. Another global challenge is the ongoing covid-19pandemic. At an early stage, we began to observe how different types of media started to linkthe covid-19 pandemic to climate change. Based on the background of climatecommunication and this observation, the purpose of this study is to investigate how climatecommunication is expressed during the covid-19 pandemic via debate articles. A latentcontent analysis was performed and the results was analyzed with Per Espen Stoknes modelon the five psychological barriers and theory on strategies in climate communication. Theresults show that climate communication was expressed in different ways through bothbarriers and strategies, but mainly through strategies. The study can further increase theunderstanding of how climate change can be communicated to create climate commitmentand can thus serve as a springboard for further research.

Background: Auditor’s work involves auditing companies, this is partly done on site at the company in order to be able to collect information and then be able to do a good audit. The audit of companies in crisis situations places higher demands on the auditor, according to FAR. In 2020, the world was hit by a pandemic, which falls within the framework of a crisis situation. During the pandemic, the public health agency recommended that all companies that can work remotely should do so. Question: How has the auditors audit quality been affected by distance work? Purpose: The purpose of the study is to gain knowledge about how communications channels affect different dimensions of audit quality when these communications channels are used. The study wish to contribute with knowledge about if the audit quality changes and if so how it changes when communication happens through distance. Method: The study was conducted using a qualitative method. There are five auditors who have been interviewed through Zoom. The interviewees were chosen through a strategic selection. Results and conclusions: The results of the study showed that the audit quality was partly affected during the pandemic. Partially the audit quality has deteriorated when the auditor has chosen to conduct distance communication with new customers. In cases where the auditor has had a longer relationship with the customer, the use of distance communication has not affected audit quality in the same way. The competence of the audit firm has also been affected as communication between employees has decreased due to distance communication. The study also reports how the ability to control processes and the size of the auditing firm has been affected by distance communication.

Resumen
This study is about Swedish consumers' travel behavior and how they approach travel during the ongoing pandemic COVID-19. The study examines how COVID-19 has affected Swedish consumers thoughts about travel, what factors affect Swedish consumers travel behavior during a pandemic and what attitudes Swedish consumers have to travel during COVID-19. In order to get answers to the present purpose and question, this study has been based on a qualitative method where semi-structured interviews have been conducted with 12 respondents who have some kind of connection to travel. The theoretical framework of the study is based on the Theory of planned behavior and concepts as crises and risks, risk perception, the role of the media in crises. The results showed that swedish consumers follow authorities recommendations and restrictions to avoid risks that may arise in connection with COVID-19. The results also show that swedish consumers perceive risk as something negative and that COVID-19 is more or less is perceived as a risk. Consumers feel that media and news updates causes concern through scary headlines. But at the same time, they have helped consumers to form their own perceptions. The swedish consumers travel behavior has changed as the results also show that swedish consumers follow the travel advice of the authorities.

This dataset constitutes a panel follow-up to the 2016/2017 Suriname Survey of Living Conditions. It measures welfare related variables before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic including labor market outcomes, financial literacy, and food security. The survey was executed in August 2020. The Suriname COVID-19 Survey is a project of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). It collected data on critical socioeconomic topics in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic to support policymaking and help mitigate the crisis impacts on the populations welfare. The survey recontacted households interviewed in 2016/2017 by the Suriname Survey of Living Conditions (SSLC) and was conducted by phone due to the mobility restrictions and social distancing measures in place. It interviewed 1,016 households during August 2020 and gathered information about disease transmission, household finances, labor, income, remittances, spending, and social protection programs. Data and documentation of the 2016/2017 Suriname Survey of Living Conditions can be found at: https://publications.iadb.org/en/suriname-survey-living-conditions-2016-2017 The survey was designed and implemented by Sistemas Integrales. This publication describes the main methodological aspects, such as sample design, estimation procedures, topics covered by the questionnaire, field organization and quality control. It also presents the structure and codebook for the two resulting publicly available datasets.

Resumen
This Evidence Snapshot is a rapid review of the evidence for the efficacy healthcare workers use of N95 masks compared with surgical masks in reducing COVID-19 transmission in hospitals and residential aged-care. The review identified 13 reviews and one commentary addressing comparative effectiveness of respirators and medical masks, eight of which were specific to COVID-19. Direct evidence of the effectiveness of respirators in prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection is low, with concerns about the generalizability of other virus models. Results were inconsistent with the strongest evidence coming from a WHO commissioned review which adjusted for aerosol generating procedures. The review offers some explanations for the uncertainty around the use of respirators and summarises international recommendations.

Resumen
The COVID-19 pandemic shock affected obesity rates differently across distinct population subgroups with existing obesity prevalence disparities. This report measures changes in U.S. adult obesity rates overall and across a wide variety of demographic and socioeconomic subgroups during the first year of the pandemic--March 2020 to March 2021. While the U.S. obesity rate significantly increased by 1.3 percentage points (pp) in the overall adult population during the first year of the pandemic, pronounced increases occurred among younger adults aged 20-39 (2.0 pp), adults with a household income eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (2.5 pp), adults residing in the West Census region (2.8 pp), and adults with less than a high school diploma (3.3 pp).

Resumen
Government payments to the farm sector were a record-high $45.7 billion in calendar year 2020. COVID-related payments from two programs--USDA's Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) at $23.5 billion and Small Business Administration's (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) at $6.0 billion--accounted for nearly two-thirds of those 2020 payments. This report analyzes the distribution of direct Government payments relative to cash receipts in calendar year 2020. We find that USDA COVID-related payments from CFAP relative to cash receipts at the State level were closely aligned with distribution of cash receipts.

Resumen
The first round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 1) provided payments to agricultural producers adversely affected by price declines and other marketing losses caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Since the only producers eligible to receive a CFAP 1 payment were those who held unpriced inventory, this report examines the level of unpriced inventory held post-harvest 2019
