The purpose of this study was to analyze financial distress using the Altman (Z-Score) method at Bank Umum Milik Negara (BUMN) during pandemin Covid 19. The results showed that PT. BRI (Persero) Tbk with a condition that is not financial distress in years 2015 and 2016. In years 2017, 2018 and 2019 included in the gray area. PT. ObjectivesThere is uncertainty about when the first cases of COVID-19 appeared in Spain. We aimed to determine whether influenza diagnoses masked early COVID-19 cases and estimate numbers of undetected COVID-19 cases.DesignTime-series study of influenza and COVID-19 cases, 2010–2020.SettingPrimary care, Catalonia, Spain.ParticipantsPeople registered in primary-care practices, covering >6 million people and >85% of the population.Main outcome measuresWeekly new cases of influenza and COVID-19 clinically diagnosed in primary care.AnalysesDaily counts of both cases were computed using the total cases recorded over the previous 7 days to avoid weekly effects. Epidemic curves were characterised for the 2010–2011 to 2019–2020 influenza seasons. Influenza seasons with a similar epidemic curve and peak case number as the 2019–2020 season were used to model expected case numbers with Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average models, overall and stratified by age. Daily excess influenza cases were defined as the number of observed minus expected cases.ResultsFour influenza season curves (2011–2012, 2012–2013, 2013–2014 and 2016–2017) were used to estimate the number of expected cases of influenza in 2019–2020. Between 4 February 2020 and 20 March 2020, 8017 (95% CI: 1841 to 14 718) excess influenza cases were identified. This excess was highest in the 15–64 age group.ConclusionsCOVID-19 cases may have been present in the Catalan population when the first imported case was reported on 25 February 2020. COVID-19 carriers may have been misclassified as influenza diagnoses in primary care, boosting community transmission before public health measures were taken. The use of clinical codes could misrepresent the true occurrence of the disease. Serological or PCR testing should be used to confirm these findings. In future, this surveillance of excess influenza could help detect new outbreaks of COVID-19 or other influenza-like pathogens, to initiate early public health responses.

O ano de 2020 ficará marcado na memória mundial como o ano da pandemia de Covid-19. Embora a doença tenha eclodido na China no final de 2019, a sua propagação foi posterior e veio colocar em causa a sociedade globalizada, com efeitos sociais, políticos e económicos graves, mas ainda a serem determinados em toda a sua extensão. Na cobertura do surto o jornalismo, em crise há algu- mas décadas (Zelizer, 2004; 2009; 2015; 2017), reassumiu um papel central e ad- quiriu um novo vigor, viajando por múltiplos dispositivos e écrans (Deuze, 2019). Em Portugal, num cenário de isolamento, predominantemente familiar, a televisão emergiu como elo social (Wolton, 1994), confirmando que continua ser o médium dominante (ERC, 2016, 2019; OBERCOM, 2018; Statista, 2019). Neste contexto, a nossa homenagem a Nelson Traquina tem como objetivo apresentar, comen- tar e discutir a sua contribuição para o estudo do jornalismo em Portugal a partir da análise da cobertura jornalística televisiva da crise pandémica. Com este fim, recuperámos estudos teóricos sobre as Teorias da Notícia e os estudos empíri- cos sobre o HIV/SIDA realizados pelo autor (por exemplo, Traquina, 1993; 2002; 2004; 2010; Traquina e al., 2001). Elegemos um corpus de análise empírico, com- preendido por blocos de jornais televisivos dos canais generalistas RTP1, SIC e TVI. Utilizamos uma metodologia fundada na construção de uma base de dados em File Maker Pro inspirada nos trabalhos de Traquina sobre o HIV/SIDA. Os re- sultados obtidos, ainda que com caráter exploratório, permitem a discussão das teorias da notícia enquanto construção (Traquina, 1993) e o papel das rotinas na produção da informação televisiva.

We present a dataset of the monthly cases of pipeline vandalism in Nigeria from January 2015 to January 2021. Data used in this study were collated from the Monthly Financial and Operations Reports (MFOR) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Each MFOR provides cases of pipeline vandalism during a 12-month span from five key locations; Mosimi, Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Warri, and Gombe. Recorded incidences of pipeline vandalism from these locations were summed and assembled into five groups; namely: historical data, prior-COVID-19, COVID-19 lockdown, and post-COVID-19 lockdown. The data were grouped based on dates. These dates were January 2015 to July 2019, August 2019 to January 2020, February 2020 to July 2020, and August 2020 to January 2021 respectively. The historical data were further sub-divided into four sub-groups based on the deployment (May 2016) of sophisticated weapons, satellite imagery, and geographical information system into the security apparatus to checkmate pipeline vandalism. The four sub-groups are sub-group A (one-year before deployment), sub-group B (the year of deployment), sub-group C (one-year after deployment), and sub-group D (two-years after deployment). The dates span for each sub-group is May 2015-April 2016, May 2016-April 2017, May 2017-April 2018, and May 2018-April 2019 respectively. After the deployment of GIS devices in May 2016, the accumulated national number of pipeline vandalism cases declined from 400 cases in January 2016 to 293 in February 2016, and 259 cases in March 2016 as opposed to 60, 49, and 94 cases in the same months in 2017; but over the years, 2017 to 2021 these methods have proved less effective, and cases of pipeline vandalism have risen once more. Similar changes in the number of cases and patterns were observed during the COVID-19 movement restrictions. From the dataset, it can be seen that COVID-19 influenced incidences of pipeline vandalism.

The H1N1 pandemic of 2009-2010, MERS epidemic of 2012, Ebola epidemics of 2013-2016 and 2018-2020, Zika epidemic of 2015-2016, and COVID-19 pandemic of 2019-2021, are recent examples in the long history of epidemics that demonstrate the enormous global impact of viral infection. The rapid development of safe and effective vaccines and therapeutics has proven vital to reducing morbidity and mortality from newly emerging viruses. Structural biology methods can be used to determine how antibodies elicited during infection or vaccination target viral proteins and identify viral epitopes that correlate with potent neutralization. Here we review how structural and molecular biology approaches have contributed to our understanding of antibody recognition of pathogenic viruses, specifically HIV-1, SARS-CoV-2, and Zika. Determining structural correlates of neutralization of viruses has guided the design of vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, and small molecule inhibitors in response to the global threat of viral epidemics.

Resumen
Due to the self-isolation caused by coronavirus, K-pop fans have used social media such as Twitter in order to engage, specially, in political, racial and gender agendas. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the demonstration and the activism of the K-pop fandom during the period of COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, we rely on theoretical assumptions which allow us to comprehend the fandom (Hills 2017, Jenkins 2015), conceiving the activism of fandom and, mainly, the cyberactivism (Queiroz 2017), as a form of resistance (Amaral, Souza, and Monteiro 2014), which allows this theme to be allied with the reception studies (Bonin 2018, Fígaro 2000, 2009, 2019, Jacks 2015) and the data fandom (Zhang and Negus 2020). Among the demonstrations performed during COVID-19 pandemic, we highlight the support of K-poppers to the movement #BlackLivesMatter (Yang 2016) through social media as platforming elements for fan activism. Thus, this paper has made possible a reflection based on bibliographies regarding the reception of K-pop fans about the antiracist mobilizations, as well as their protagonism related to the metrics in favor of cyberactivism.

O enfrentamento do Brasil à pandemia de Covid-19, doença causada pelo novo coronavírus, tem sido atravessado pelo discurso negligente e negacionista do presidente, Jair Bolsonaro. Por consequência do perfil do maior gestor público do país, a pandemia no Brasil acentua a vulnerabilidade de certos grupos sociais e, dentre estes grupos de risco estão as mulheres. Nesse sentido, nos interessa analisar os discursos, ações e medidas misóginas difundidas pelo presidente Jair Bolsonaro ao longo do contexto pandêmico para assim compreender a constituição do seu ethos no discurso na cerimônia de Comemoração do Dia Internacional da Mulher, no dia 08 de março do ano eleitoral de 2022. Para tanto, os acontecimentos discursivos mencionados serão analisados a partir de aportes da análise do discurso de linha francesa (FOUCAULT, 1960; 1968; 2008; PÊCHEUX, 1993, 2002; ORLANDI, 2007, 2012; AMOSSY, 2019; CHARAUDEAU, 2014, 2016, 2018; MAINGUENEAU, 1997, 1998, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014), além das reflexões realizadas por diferentes teóricos a respeito das questões de gênero. Espera-se, ao mobilizar as condições de produção e a relação entre linguagem e ideologia, examinar como o poder público tem contribuído com ações de ódio contra as mulheres, levando à crescente violência de gênero no país; enquanto o segundo, o discurso presidencial comemorativo, será analisado a partir das estratégias discursivas que buscam produzir efeitos de persuasão no destinatário e, desse modo, constituem e representam o ethos de Bolsonaro e do seu governo.

Covid-19 pandemic forced, at the final rounds of 2019–2020 season, in many different sport leagues worldwide, teams to play without an audience. Therefore, the present paper aims to compare the home advantage score in the last ten rounds in 2019–2020 season with the first 24 rounds in same season using Pollard’s (1986) and Matos et al.’s (2020) methods. In addition, comparisons across different seasons (2016–2017; 2017–2018; 2018–2019 and 2019–2020) using the same methods were also analyzed. Results showed no differences (p > 0.05) between first 24 rounds and the last 10 in 2019–2020 season as well as in the 3 previous seasons. With Pollard’s method, no differences (p > 0.05) were also found among those four seasons on global (all 34 rounds) home advantage. However, a significance difference between 2017–2018 and 2019–2020 (p < 0.05) was founded using Matos et al.’s (2020) method, which is an indicator of the importance of using complementary methods when analyzing the same realities. Overall, despite what might be expectable from recent findings, the lack of an audience in the last 10 rounds of Portuguese Football League 2019–2020 season, due to COVID-19 pandemic, did not affect home advantage. Therefore, future studies could try to analyze other different variables in Portuguese Football League, such as referees’ behaviors, rules changing (e.g., the possibility of making five substitutions, instead of three), crowd dimension and density as well as include variables about odds as forecasts in football being played without crowds.

Криза, що спіткала світовий ринок авіаційних перевезень, позначилась і на індустрії авіабудування. Наступною тенденцією, що негативно вплинула на ринок виробництва авіаційної техніки стало падіння цін на нафту. Високі ціни були одним з найважливіших чинників, які впливали на розробку літаків - поява нового покоління лайнерів Airbus A-320NEO і Boeing 737MAX, наприклад, була обумовлена створенням нових більш економічних двигунів. Тепер, як вважають деякі експерти, після різкого зниження цін на нафту і скорочення світового авіапарку потреба в нових, більш економних літаках вже не стоїть так гостро.
The crisis that hit the world air transport market also affected the aircraft industry. Today, market leaders are forced to suspend the production of aircraft and take prompt measures to modernize it, taking into account the new requirements for the prevention of viral threats and the introduction of additional hygiene measures. These requirements include not only the technical re-equipment of glider production, but also the introduction of additional disinfection of workplaces, main and managerial production staff of aircraft plants. The next trend that negatively affected the market for aircraft production was the fall in oil prices. High prices were one of the most important factors influencing the development of aircraft - the emergence of a new generation of Airbus A-320NEO and Boeing 737MAX, for example, was due to the creation of new more economical engines. Now, according to some experts, after a sharp drop in oil prices and a reduction in the world's fleet, the need for new, more economical aircraft is no longer so acute.

We have read with interest the short communication published by Segovia-Juarez et al., 2020 in Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology establishing that high altitude reduces the infection rate of COVID-19 but not the case fatality rate in the Peruvian setting. We support this hypothesis, however there could be an important number of under registered deaths on account of a low rate of diagnostic tests performed per inhabitant and mostly in symptomatic patients (Pasquariello and Stranges, 2020).

The AID/APOBECs are cytosine deaminases involved in diverse physiological contexts through their ability to edit DNA and RNA. This ability comes with a price: Activation-Induce cytidine Deaminase (AID), the main player in the antibody diversification processes, is responsible for some of the common genetic alterations in mature B-cells tumours; the APOBEC3 subgroup, important actors in virus defence, have been linked to different mutational processes in a number of cancers. Also APOBEC1, an RNA/DNA editing enzyme, also able to restrict lentivirus and mobile elements, can act as a mutator in human cells, and its aberrant expression could be linked to the onset of alterations both at the genomic and transcriptomic level. APOBEC1 RNA editing is a post transcriptional process, its only well-characterized target is the Apolipoprotein B transcript (ApoB) in the small intestine where editing of C6666 induces formation of a stop codon and translation of a truncated protein. Quite different is the situation in Rodents where, thanks to the availability of APOBEC1 knockout mice, hundreds of APOBEC1-dependent editing events, have been discovered beyond ApoB. To date, APOBEC1 deficiencies are not known and in humans and only a few transcripts have been added to the list of targets. Despite the targets known in mice and in humans, we are far from understanding the overall physiological meaning of APOBEC1-induced C to U editing. If we exclude the efforts that have been made to identify and characterise C to U editing in rodents, only few computational approaches have been employed to identify and characterize human APOBEC1 targets. This is the reason why I have used available human RNA-seq data to develop a computational strategy for the identification of APOBEC1 dependent RNA editing events. I used The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and The Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEX) to obtain datasets of samples in which APOBEC1 is expressed at different levels. Using these datasets, I divided samples in high and low expression levels of APOBEC1, and through known tools and ad hoc scripts I built different pipelines to identify positions in the transcript that are differentially edited. The pipeline includes several filters: removal of mapping artefacts, germline and somatic single nucleotide variants, removal of homopolymeric regions and so on. Among the several strategies I used, the most promising are those applied to the GTEX small intestine data, where a strict analysis has shown the presence of at least 12 sites, including 3 known targets on the ApoB mRNA. Surprisingly we found evidence of ApoB editing at canonical sites beyond the small intestine, even in absence of measurable APOBEC1 expression. Considering the possible presence of APOBEC1 outside the gastric tissue, to improve our capacity to identify C to U editing in human tissues, I decided to create a database of C>U edited sites using RNA-seq from APOBEC1 -transfected Hek293T cell lines. This database, despite not representing physiologically edited sites, it informs on all positions biologically editable. Crossing these positions with those obtained from the GTEX dataset results in the identification of hundreds of common edited sites. Finally, I tested the hypothesis that APOBEC1 editing affects the transcript stability in Hek293T cells. Preliminary data suggest that APOBEC1 expression could shift the equilibrium between processed RNA and non-processed RNA towards the latter one. The second part of the thesis centers on the study of RNA-off targets induced by Base editors (BEs). In order to improve the safety of this powerful genome editing tool, another PhD student in the lab, Francesco Donati, selected several APOBEC1 mutant that are not able to edit the RNA while maintaining their mutagenicity on DNA. He investigated both the tumorigenicity of these mutants in mice and their use in genome editing. He obtained exonic and transcriptomic data from murine liver tumors and from cells overexpressing the mutant base editors, respectively. I performed the bioinformatic analyses to explore the mutational signature induced by APOBEC1 in mice, and to assess the off-targets effects on RNA and DNA of these base editors. I demonstrated that -contrarily to wild-type APOBEC1- these mutants provide the ability to perform genome editing in absence of detectable off-targets.
The 2019-nCoV outbreak has become a global health risk. Editing by host deaminases is an innate restriction process to counter viruses, and it is not yet known whether it operates against coronaviruses. Here we analyze RNA sequences from bronchoalveolar lavage fluids derived from two Wuhan patients. We identify nucleotide changes that may be signatures of RNA editing: Adenosine-to-Inosine changes from ADAR deaminases and Cytosine-to-Uracil changes from APOBEC ones. A mutational analysis of genomes from different strains of human-hosted Coronaviridae reveals patterns similar to the RNA editing pattern observed in the 2019-nCoV transcriptomes. Our results suggest that both APOBECs and ADARs are involved in Coronavirus genome editing, a process that may shape the fate of both virus and patient.

Nell’anno 2020 l’Italia ha dovuto fare i conti con la crisi sanitaria ed economica determinata dalla diffusione del virus COVID-19. La straordinarietà della situazione, con l’Europa alle prese con lockdown e fermi produttivi, ha portato l’Osservatorio a far seguire alla tradizionale rilevazione avviata a fine Febbraio 2020 una seconda indagine di approfondimento mirata a raccogliere le prime reazioni delle imprese della filiera alla crisi da coronavirus. Questa edizione del volume è, quindi, particolarmente ricca di spunti in quanto collega la fotografia del 2019 alla situazione generata dalla pandemia nel 2020. Il quadro complessivo è quello di una filiera i cui risultati in termini di fatturato, produzione ed export erano già in contrazione nel 2019 e, di conseguenza, particolarmente esposta alla crisi del 2020, soprattutto per alcune categorie di imprese meno resilienti. Il superamento di questa situazione critica potrà giocarsi sulla capacità di sviluppare aggregazioni e reti per l’innovazione, con obiettivi importanti di competitività dell’intera filiera sullo scenario internazionale.

AbstractVarious recent events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or the European elections in 2019, were marked by the discussion about potential consequences of the massive spread of misinformation, disinformation, and so-called “fake news.” Scholars and experts argue that fears of manipulated elections can undermine trust in democracy, increase polarization, and influence citizens’ attitudes and behaviors (Benkler et al. 2018; Tucker et al. 2018). This has led to an increase in scholarly work on disinformation, from less than 400 scientific articles per year before 2016 to about 1’500 articles in 2019. Within social sciences, surveys and experiments dominated in the last few years. Content analysis is used less frequently and studies conducting content analyses mostly use automated approaches or mixed methods designs.

Resumen
Introdução: As infecções bacterianas estão entre as principais complicações em pacientes internados em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), sendo as bactérias gram negativas as principais causadoras de infecções nesses ambientes. Com o surgimento da pandemia do COVID-19 observou-se um aumento da ocorrência de infecções, bem como, um aumento do uso de antimicrobianos, sendo importante um controle frente ao desenvolvimento de resistência. Objetivo: Relacionar o perfil de sensibilidade de bactérias gram negativas prevalentes na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Adulta de um hospital no interior do Rio Grande do Sul antes e durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Material e métodos: O perfil de sensibilidade das cepas de Pseudomonas spp., Escherichia coli e Grupo CESP (Citrobacter spp, Enterobacter spp., Serratia sp. e Proteus spp.) referentes ao período de janeiro de 2017 a dezembro de 2020 foi coletado através de um banco de dados mantido pela Comissão de Controle de Infecção Hospitalar (CCIH) do hospital. Resultados: Antes da pandemia o perfil de sensibilidade apresentado por Pseudomonas spp. frente Ceftriaxona foi 55% (2017/2018) e 11% (2019) e durante a pandemia apresentou sensibilidade de 100% (2020), já em relação a Piperacilina Tazobactam encontrou-se um perfil de 60% (2017/2018) e 80% (2019) e 100% (2020). Para Escherichia coli encontrou-se uma diminuição no perfil de sensibilidade durante a pandemia frente à Piperacilina Tazobactam 63% (2019/2018), 73% (2019) e 33% (2020) e quanto a Ceftriaxona não houve grandes mudanças no perfil durante a pandemia 43% (2017/2018), 82% (2019) e 83% (2020). Já em relação ao Grupo CESP frente a Ceftriaxona não ocorreram muitas alterações no perfil 42% (2017/2018), 55% (2019) e 50% (2020) assim como frente a Piperacilina Tazobactam 47% (2017/2018), 66% (2019) e 50% (2020). Conclusão: Conhecer o perfil de sensibilidade das bactérias prevalentes na unidade é de suma importância, assim como, as alterações que ocorreram devido a pandemia COVID-19. Felizmente, no hospital em estudo não foram observados grandes mudanças no perfil de sensibilidade, inclusive sendo observado uma melhora deste perfil para alguns microrganismos.

ABSTRACT Objective – To establish a new and effective methodology for physical exercises to relieve back pain after Covid-19 disease. Methods – This report deals with reviewing the author’s methodology, which consists of isometric tension exercises based on karate blocking techniques. The exercises are five in number. The execution time is 7-8 minutes per set. Fit balls, foam rollers, and gym mats or equivalents may be used. A further study will be conducted to examine and evaluate the methodology on people with back pain after being infected with COVID-19. The individuals will be observed and measured with surveys. The results will be presented in further reports. Discussion – Studies have shown that regular exercise helps to prevent pain (Sulejanov, 2009, Lizier et al., 2012, Washif et al., 2019) and it has been found that pain is worsened by Covid (Serrano-Ibáñez et al., 2021). Furthermore, as for the beneficial effect of isometric exercise on the body (Rio et al., 2017, Noorkõiv et al., 2015, Schott et al., 1995), this methodology differs in that it can be performed every day and in any place (gyms, medical centers, homes, and even at work). It does not take much time and is not complex. We assume that after applying the methodology and evaluating the results obtained, we will confirm the positive effect of the exercises on pain after Covid-19 disease. Conclusion – In conclusion, after reviewing the methodology as well as the preliminary studies on the practical impact of physical exercise on the health of people with back pain, we assume positive results can be achieved. Therefore, the author’s methodology will be applied to obtain data which is needed to produce a complete evaluation of its effectiveness in further reports.

Introdução: A filariose é uma verminose que acomete os vasos linfáticos, a maioria das pessoas infectadas são assintomática, mas em pelo menos 1% das pessoas portadoras pode causar deformidades. Os principais sinais dos casos mais graves são, edema de membros e/ou mamas, no caso de mulheres, erisipela e hidrocele nos homens, podendo ocorrer urina leitosa. No Brasil, a doença tem foco apenas no estado de Pernambuco, o último caso confirmado no país ocorreu em 2014. Olinda é um dos municípios acometido pela doença e segue realizando o rastreamento dos casos através do exame método da gota espessa. Objetivo: Descrever o rastreamento para filariose no município de Olinda-PE entre 2016 a 2020. Material e métodos: Estudo de caráter descritivo, realizado no período de 2016 a 2020 no município de Olinda. Os dados são oriundos do boletim de produção da coordenação de filariose do município, com o número de exames (gota espessa da filariose) realizados no período, dos três pontos de coletas de exames. O estudo usou exclusivamente dados secundários, não nominais, em conformidade com o Decreto n° 7.724 de 16 de maio de 2012, que dispõe sobre o acesso a informações e a Resolução n° 510 de 7 de abril de 2016 que dispõe sobre as normas aplicáveis pesquisas. Resultados: Em 2016 foram realizados 3.175 exames, 2017: 3.218; 2018: 3.037; 2019: 2.299 e em 2020: 482, todos com resultados negativos. É válido pontuar que houve uma queda no número de exames realizados no último ano, devido a interrupção das coletas entre abril a julho, retomando as coletas em agosto de 2020. Diante do contexto pandêmico da Covid-19 não houve a obrigatoriedade de alcançar a meta de 3.000 exames anual, além da baixa procura dos munícipes. Conclusão: Ratificando os registros de 0% de prevalência da doença no Brasil desde 2014, o município de Olinda continua fazendo rastreamento dos casos, durante o período analisado não observou nenhum caso confirmado de filariose na população residente em Olinda.

Resumen
Neste traballo presentamos unha análise dos resultados obtidos nos exames finais da materia de Fisioloxía Humana durante a COVID-19, materia impartida no grao de podoloxía da UDC. Estes resultados comparáronse cos obtidos en cursos anteriores en exames levados a cabo de xeito presencial. En todos os casos os resultados proceden de exames tipo test de resposta única. Para levar a cabo esta análise tivéronse en conta os cursos académicos 2017/2018 e 2018/2019, no que analizamos os resultados de 165 exames realizados de xeito presencial e comparámolos cos resultados de 46 exames realizados virtualmente no curso académico 2019/2020. Non se observaron diferencias na cualificación media obtida en ambas modalidades de exames. Non obstante, nos exames virtuais diminúe lixeiramente a porcentaxe de alumnos non presentados e a porcentaxe de suspensos e tres veces máis baixa, sen embargo, tamén diminúe o número de estudantes que obteñen sobresaínte. En base a estes resultados podemos concluír que os exames tipo test virtuais aumentan o número de estudantes que supera a materia, pero non así a nota global da mesma

Resumen
The aim of this report is to explore Northern Ireland take home food and drink purchases in 2016, 2019 and 2020. In 2020, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the purchasing of take home food and drink may have been impacted. Therefore, this report will examine the data to identify any key trends in purchasing in 2016 and 2019 (before the Covid-19 pandemic), and then between 2019 and 2020. However, as this study is based on observations, it is not possible to know what may have caused changes in take home food and drink purchasing. It is important to remember that data in 2019 and 2020 are not directly comparable due to Covid-19 restrictions, as the majority of the out of home sector was closed and therefore an increase in take home purchasing is expected to replace the food and drink that would have been purchased outside of the home. The analyses within this report have been conducted by the FSA in Northern Ireland with guidance from Kantar. Data presented within this report was collected in 2016 (52 weeks ending 1st January 2017), 2019 (52 weeks ending 29th December 2019) and 2020 (52 weeks ending 27th December 2020).

Resumen
This study leveraged existing data infrastructure and relationships from the Feed the Future Senegal Naatal Mbay (“flourishing agriculture”) project, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by RTI International from 2015 to 2019. The research informed and empowered farmer organizations to track and respond to rural households in 2020 as they faced the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmer organizations, with support from RTI and local ICT firm STATINFO, administered a survey to a sample of 800 agricultural households that are members of four former Naatal Mbay–supported farmer organizations in two rounds in August and October 2020. Focus group discussions were conducted with network leadership pre- and post–data collection to contextualize the experience of the COVID-19 shock and to validate findings. The results showed that farmers were already reacting to the effects of low rainfall during the 2019 growing season and that COVID-19 compounded the shock through disrupted communications and interregional travel bans, creating food shortages and pressure to divert seed stocks for food. Food insecurity effects, measured through the Household Food Insecurity Access Scale and cereals stocks, were found to be greater for households in the Casamance region than in the Kaolack and Kaffrine regions. The findings also indicate that farmer networks deployed a coordinated response comprising food aid and access to personal protective equipment, distribution of short-cycle legumes and grains (e.g., cowpea, maize) and vegetable seeds, protection measures for cereals seeds, and financial innovations with banks. However, food stocks were expected to recover as harvesting began in October 2020, and the networks were planning to accelerate seed multiplication, diversify crops beyond cereals, improve communication across the network. and mainstream access to financial instruments in the 2021 growing season. The research indicated that the previous USAID-funded project had likely contributed to the networks’ COVID-19 resilience capacities by building social capital and fostering the new use of tools and technologies over the years it operated.

Resumen
Review question / Objective: Reports of unexpected side effects have accompanied the vaccination of larger proportions of the population against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including a few cases of inflammatory myopathy (IM). In a bid to improve understanding of the clinical course of vaccine complications, a systematic review of reported cases of IM following COVID-19 vaccination has been conducted. Condition being studied: Safety concerns have surrounded the vaccines since their development, with common adverse effects including local reaction at the site of injection and diverse non-specific flu-like symptoms (9). Most symptoms occur soon after vaccination and resolve within a short period but some serious events such as myopericarditis and cerebral venous thrombosis post COVID-19 vaccination had been reported. Meanwhile, some rare cases of vaccine-associated IMs have been reported. The current study systematically reviewed IM cases reported post-COVID-19 vaccination to date. Clinical and laboratory features are described and therapy and prognosis discussed.
