Imam Ali, the sultan of wise words, who had a good command of the Qur'an, hadiths, and poems of the period of ignorance (Jahiliyyah), used literary sentences even in his everyday conversations. He proved to be the pinnacle of literature by skillfully bringing together words in his poems with deep meanings. His poems were examined in Arab and Turkish sources to reveal the literary power of Imam Ali and the beauty of the used language. Studies on the literary aspect of Imam Ali in the Arabic field are more than the studies in the Turkish field. In the literature, much research was conducted about Imam Ali, but very few of these studies examined his literary language side. As he was the basis of Islamic sciences and the master of scholars who grew up in these fields, he occupied a great place in the literature of Muslim countries. We tried to make up for the lack of analysis of Imam Ali's literary language in this context. Imam Ali was a great person who needed to be examined in every aspect of literature. We tried to reveal his literary side, which was a guide for those who came after him.

Ali bin Abi Talib is one of the companions of the Prophet SAW who is guaranteed to enter heaven along with nine other friends. He led Islam for about four years before being stabbed by Abdurrahman bin Muljam while praying shubuh at the end of 40 AH until he died. In some literature, Imam Ali was killed on Friday night or Sunday night. In addition, there are several opinions in various Islamic historical literature about the date of the death of Ali ibn Abi Talib. Some say on Friday, 17 Ramadan 40 H. There are also opinions that mention 11 Ramadan 40 H. Some even write that Imam Ali died at the end of Rabiul Awal 40 H. This research is intended to answer the problem of Imam Ali's death date in perspective. astronomy. This problem is discussed with qualitative research in the form of library research. The primary source used in this study is T?rikh al-T?bari T?rikh al-Um?m w? alMuluk, Ash?b al-Futuy? , al-K?mil fi al-T?rikh, al-Bid?y?h w? al-Nih?y?h. All the data obtained were then converted into either the day or the date of the Gregorian era and matched the data in the historical book. The results showed that the data on the date of the death of Ali bin Abi Talib based on astronomical calculations was on Sunday, 17 Ramadan 40 H / 24th January 661 AD.Keywords: controversy, date of death, Imam Ali ra, astronomy

Imamate is the main Shi'ite doctrine. They use the term Imam as a substitute for a degree of prophet office after his death. Shi'ites in particular Imami Itsna Asy'ari and Isma'ilism found an eligible priest to be after Prophet Muhammad’s death is Ali bin Abi Talib. While the Prophet never specify who should be a priest, he only mentions the qualities of a priest and accidental properties that are owned by Ali bin Abi Talib, so Ali should be chosen become a priest. Thinking about the Imamate, Shiites refer to events that occurred in Ghadir Khum, where the prophet has returned from the Farewell Pilgrimage stopped in Ghadir area Arafah. Then, he appointed and inaugurated Ali bin Abi Thaib to be his successor as priest. This event is believed by a group of Imami Itsna Asy'ari and Isma'ilism as the basis for the appointment of Ali as priests. In addition they also use Qur’anic verses that are understood and interpreted according to their version, as a proposition or argument in strengthening the doctrine of the Imamate. While the group did not seem to wear Zaidiyyah the arguments and the Ghadir event.

Imam Shamsi Ali is an extraordinary scholar whose spirit of struggle in spreading the religion of Islam by introducing Islam with the concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin in the United States. This brought major changes to Islam in the United States. In this study the author aims to find out how the concept of rahmatan lil alamin Imam Shamsi Ali is able to become a strategy for education and cultural da'wah in the United States. In this study, the author uses the library research method, where the research uses various literatures, both books, notes, and reports on the results of previous research in collecting data. This study focuses on how the concept of Rahmatan Lil Alamin brought by Imam Shamsi Ali in New York, United States became his strategy in building Islamic education and da'wah. The objects of this research are books from Imam Shamsi Ali, and various articles about Imam Shamsi Ali. The results of this study indicate that the concept of rahmatan lil alamin in Imam Shamsi Ali's education and da'wah which is accommodated in Islamic boarding schools can become a force for Islam in the United States.Keywords: Rahmatan lil alamin, Educational Leadership, Cultural Da'wah, Islam in America AbstrakImam Shamsi Ali merupakan sosok ulama yang luar biasa semangat perjuangannya dalam menyebarkan agama Islam dengan memperkenalkan Islam dengan konsep Rahmatan Lil Alamin di Amerika Serikat. Hal ini membawa perubahan besar bagi Islam di Amerika Serikat. Dalam penelitian penulis bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konsep rahmatan lil alamin Imam Shamsi Ali mampu menjadi strategi pendidikan dan dakwah kultural di Amerika Serikat. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode library research, dimana penelitian menggunakan berbagai literatur-literatur baik buku, catatan, maupun laporan hasil dari penelitian terdahulu dalam pengambilan datanya. Penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana konsep Rahmatan Lil Alamin yang dibawa oleh Imam Shamsi Ali di New York, Amerika Serikat menjadi strategi beliau dalam membangun pendidikan dan dakwah Islam. Adapun objek penelitian ini yaitu buku-buku daripada Imam Shamsi Ali, dan berbagai artikel tentang Imam Shamsi Ali. Penulis menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif dan data yang digunakan berasal dari studi literatur yang relevan seperti buku, jurnal, karya tulis skripsi dan tesis serta website berita yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan kebenaran datanya. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan Imam Shamsi Ali dalam merekonstruksi citra Islam dan Indonesia terletak pada keteguhannya mengedepankan toleransi dalam wujud dialog antar agama (interfaith dialogue) tanpa memandang suku, agama, ras dan antar golongan (SARA), namun tetap tidak meninggalkan Identitasnya baik sebagai seorang Muslim maupun sebagai orang Indonesia. Integritas yang dimiliki oleh Imam Shamsi Ali membawa perubahan yang signifikan bagi citra Islam dan Indonesia di Amerika Serikat khususnya di New York. ABSTRAKTulisan ini didsarkan kepada perbedaan yang sangat mendasar dalam hal siyasah atau politik antara Islam Sunni dan Syi’ah Itsna ‘Asyriyah. Menurut pandangan Islam keetika seseorang memahami dengan baik bahwa dasar aturan siyasah syar’iyah berdiri di atas pemahaman terhadap tauhid Allah SWT, risalah kenabian dan khilafah yang bermakna wakil dalam menjalankan aturan Allah SWT, maka akan terwujud tujuan yang sesuai dengan keinginan Allah SWT.Syi’ah Itsna ‘Asyriyah atau al-Syi’ah al-Imamiyah al-Itsna ‘Asyriyah adalah kelompok yang berpegang teguh dan berpendapat, bahwa Ali R.A lebih berhak memimpin dari pada Abu Bakar Assidiq, Umar Bin Khathab dan Utsman Bin ‘Affan setelah wafatnya Rasulullah SAW. Mereka menamakan diri mereka dengan Itsna ‘Asyriyah karena mereka meyakini keberadaan Imam Muntazdhar yang berjumlah 12 orang imam dan mempunyai garis keturunan dengan Sayyidina Ali Bin Abi Thalib R.A, dan istilah ini lahir setelah wafatnya Hasan al-‘Askari tahun 260 H.Dari tulisan ini dihasilkan bahwa : Menurut aqidah Syi’ah Itsna ‘Asyriyah, manusia tidak bisa menentukan pilihan terhadap imam, tapi seperti yang kita ketahui imamah ditentukan dan terwujud dengan nash dari Allah SWT, baik melalui lisan Nabi atau para imam sebelumnya. Imamah adalah dasar dari agama, orang yang tidak beriman kepada adanya imamah adalah orang yang tidak sempurna keimanannya. Imamah adalah perpanjangan tangan dari nubuwwah (kenabian), maka gambaran seorang imam seperti seorang nabi yang ma’sum, semua yang diperintahkan dan ia larang harus ditaati karena ia menyampaikan pesan tuhan. Selain sebagai seorang pemimpin umat imam juga diyakini menjadi rujukan dalam permasalahan agama. Karena mereka meyakini pengetahuan Rasulullah SAW berpindah dari Ali R.A sampai ke para imam setelahnya dengan cara yang gaib dan tidak bisa diketahui sama sekali. Imam pada gambaran kelompok Syi’ah Itsna ‘Asyriyah atau Imamiyah tidak hanya diyakini berpengetahuan tentang pemerintahan bahkan harus mengetahui hukum syariat. Tujuan novel ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai religius yang terkandung dalam novel Imam Shamsi Ali Menebar Damai di Bumi Barat. Jenis penelitian novel ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu menganalisis fakta-fakta yang terdapat di dalam novel. Strategi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus terpancang.Objek penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai religius yang terkandung di dalam novel. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu berupa teknik pustaka, simak dan catat. Hasil penelitian nilai-nilai religius dalam novel ini yaitu nilai akidah,nilai moral, cinta tanah air, kerukunan. Imam Shamsi Ali menempuh pendidikan di luar negeri dan dia berhasil mengembangkan nilai-nilai islam di bumi barat yang dimana mayoritas nya non-muslim. Sikap nya yang santun,cerdas dan berwawasan luas serta karunia Allah yang senatiasa mengiringi langkahnya menjadikan ia sosok pemimpin komunitas muslim di Amerika Serikat yang di segani serta menjadikan islam di Amerika Serikat memiliki banyak pemeluk-pemeluk baru.

His life is presented in a tightly organized and lucid way,accessible to non-specialists or undergraduates, useful for graduate students,and a fine source of reference for scholars.This book consists of an introduction and six chapters. The first chaptercovers his early years in Arabia, and the second discusses his transformationfrom “Student to Shaykh.” Chapters 3 through 5 present al-Shafi‘i’s legal theories and methodologies, and chapter 6, the final chapter, studies the popularcult that has grown up around him, thus delivering on the title’s promise.Also included are three pages of suggested “Further Reading,” along withwhy these works are pertinent, an invaluable extra measure that students willfind particularly helpful. Needless to say, the bibliography is long and rich,giving a final affirmation to the author’s mastery of her subject.Throughout her study, Ali exhibits an acute awareness of the ideologicalagendas of the early biographers who have shaped perceptions of the imam.Her critical approach to traditional reports concerning his formative years (theoft-referenced Bedouin years, for example) allows her to question withoutdiscarding altogether some of the more famous episodes in his life. Muhammad ibn Khalīl Maqdisī , one of the Shāfi’ī scholars of the ninth century AH, in the book “Ar-Radd ʿAlā al-Rāfiḍah”, introduces some problems to the A’lamīyatof Imam Ali (AS) over the companions of the Prophet (PBUH). In this article, after introducing Maqdisī and his book, the problems that he has raised about the A’lamīyat of the Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali (AS) are stated and then they are answered. In presenting the answers, an attempt is made to answer based on Sunni sources. Maqdisī tries to deny the supremacy of Imam Ali and prove it for Abu Bakr and Umar; among the problems he mentioned, there are the multiplicity of narratives of Abu Bakr and Umar on Imam Ali (AS) and the employment of Abu Bakr by the Prophet (PBUH) in prayer and Hajj and so on. By analyzing these narratives and evidences by Maqdisī, as well as stating the positive evidences that prove contrary to the claim of Maqdisī, it can be known that the narratives that he refers to have uncertainties and problems that are not acceptable. His main goal is to give virtue to Abu Bakr over Imam Ali (AS), which is rejected with sufficient arguments.

Il fut source d'inspiration et d'enseignement pour beaucoup de mouvements revolutionnaires, politiques, spirituels et philosophiques. Il vivait dans un monde completement morcele et fragmentaire. Il a demande aux musulmans de vivre et de cooperer autrement ; qu'ils observent le monde sans projeter leurs convictions personnelles, leurs sentiments claniques, afin d'observer clairement. Dans cette these, nous avons essaye d'etudier la personne de ali, qui, au moins pendant une periode importante de sa vie fut profondement, sincerement religieux (imam) mais aussi homme politique (calife). Ce n'etait pas la deux plans separes, mais deux aspects d'une personnalite globale, aspects qui ne peuvent se distinguer que par l'analyse.

The gathered texts and letters from Ali Ibn Abi Talib, found in the book Nahjul Balagha,constitute one of the most important writings of Shiite Islam, next the hadits and the Quran.Imam Ali´s ethics and moral approach in Nahjul Balagha, is considered by imam Ali, to beseen as a guideline for both individual purposes as for any kind of governance. The esotericteachings, about truth and justice in Nahjul Balagha, should therefore probably have been of agreat concern to Ayatollah Khomeini and the Islamic revolution.This essay will from an deductive approach, on a relatively contemporary historic event, try toanalyze Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini´s interpreting on imam Ali´s texts and preaching inNahjul Balagha. The Islamic revolution, as the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by AyatollahKhomeini, was confirmed as both brutal and violent. My ambition in this essay, will there forconcern a possible interpreting on justice and political rule, from Ayatollah Khomeini and theIslamic Republic of Iran, on imam Ali´s teachings in Nahjul Balagha.

This dissertation focuses on the modern art of Pakistan from 1947-57, more specifically, the role of six important artists who founded the Lahore Art Circle (LAC) in 1952. The group played a pivotal role in the formulation of modernism in Pakistan after its establishment as an Islamic Republic. Framed within postcolonial theories and criticism, this study will address the role of modern art in developing new artistic sensibilities in the nation of Pakistan. In order to understand the context of LAC’s framing of “modernism” and “nationalism” in terms of specific historic and hybrid nexus,my research will provide an investigation of works of only the founding members of the Lahore Art Circle including: Shakir Ali (1924-1975), Sheikh Safdar Ali (1924-1983),Moyene Najmi (1926-1997), Ali Imam (1924-2000), Ahmed Parvez (1926-1979) and Anwar Jalal Shemza (1928-1985). In analyzing the works of individual artists and the role of LAC during the first decade of the establishment of Pakistan as a nation-state, this study provides a framework to understand the specific condition of modernism in Pakistan that was dictated by these artists’ careers and works. Thus, this research investigates how the framing of modernism for these artists took on highly personal, international, incipiently national and distinctly local forms in the early years of the Pakistan after the Partition of 1947. Lastly, it will also examine how the individual LAC artists situated themselves in the discourse between constructing a newly established Pakistani identity within the larger paradigms of international modernism.

La ville de Najaf a hérité d'un patrimoine architectural riche et est aujourd'hui menacée de disparaître. Grâce au grand nombre de touristes religieux, la ville est en pleine métamorphose bien que ces changements soient souvent à l'origine de la destruction de ce patrimoine. Cette thèse a pour objet l'architecture de la ville de Najaf dans son contexte urbain et historique. L'histoire de la ville de Najaf est concomitante à celle de la ville d'al- Küfa (capitale entre 36/658 et 40/662) qui se situe à quelques kilomètres de Najaf. Cette seconde ville fut construite par les musulmans en l'an 17/639 avec une importante stratégie politique avec sa proximité de la ville d'al­Bira, capitale des Lakhmides, située à quelques kilomètres. Cette configuration géographique localement appelée « le triangle de la civilisation», représente un creuset de plusieurs styles architecturaux et urbains. L'étude des deux villes (al-Hira et al- Küfa) est donc essentielle pour comprendre le contexte dans lequel la ville de Najaf s'est créée et développée. Pour comprendre l'architecture de Najaf, nous étudierons dans un premier temps l'architecture de ces deux villes. Dans un deuxième temps nous démontrerons la relation qu'elle a créée avec son mausolée, considéré comme le noyau central de la ville, et qui a conservé cette forme depuis 1032/1623. Enfin nous étudierons le reste de la ville et ses alentours à travers ses monuments religieux et civils tels que les mosquées, les écoles et bien d'autres monuments. À travers cette thèse, nous allons présenter cette architecture dans son état actuel et dans son contexte urbain, social et historique
The city of Najaf has inherited a rich architectural heritage and is today threatened with extinction. Thanks to the large number of religious tourists, the city is undergoing a metamorphosis although these changes are often at the origin of the destruction of this heritage. This thesis focuses on the architecture of the city of Najaf in its urban and historical context. The history of the city of Najaf is in continuity with that of the city of al-Kufa (capital between 36H / 658 and 40H / 662) which is located a few kilometers from Najaf. This city built by the Muslims in the year 17H / 639 represented a strategic point but also a political hub grown fast not far from the city a proximity of al-Hira, capital of the Lakhmids, also located a few kilometers away from it. This geographical configuration is locally called "the triangle of civilization", and represents a melting pot of several architectural and urban styles. The study of the two cities (al-Rira and al­Kufa) is therefore essential to understand the context in which the city of Najaf was created and developed. To understand the architecture of Najaf, we will first study the architecture of these two cities. Then to better know the architecture of the city, we will demonstrate the relationship created between the Imam Ali mausoleum, (considered as the central core of the city, and who kept these provisions since 1032H / 1623) and the rest of the city by the religious and civil monuments such as masques, schools and many other monuments. Through this thesis, we will present this architecture in its current state and in its urban, social and historical context

In Sunni estimation, `Ali ibn Abu Talib is one of the four Rashidun Khilafat 'Rightly Guided Caliphs' who succeeded the Prophet. In Shia understanding `Ali was duly designated as his immediate successor by Muhammad. The varying understandings of `Ali are examined in four roles: as Wali [friend of God], as Imam [Leader], as Shadid [Martyr for God], and as Bab [Gateway to Spiritual Knowledge]. In the thesis `Ali ibn Abu Talib is examined as the bearer of many attributes some descriptive with others of a more esoteric nature. A significant term ascribed to `Ali is wali [friend/saint] of God. This is included in the distinctive three tenet Shi'a shahadah. The term and title Imam is used both for the Prayer Leader of a Muslim community and within the Shi'a tradition for the legitimate ruler of the wider ummäh. The concept of the Imam is examined for Shi'a understandings and the comparable idea of qutb pole, within Sufi influenced Sunnism such as the AN i- Sunnat wa jama'at. Within the Shi'a tradition there is a profound awareness of shahid martyrdom for Imam `Ali, and the majority of the succeeding Imams. This consciousness centres in particular on the death of his youngest son, Imam Husayn as commemorated in the month of Muharram and the 121hd ay - AshuraAli is acknowledged by both Shi'a and Sunni Sufi traditions as a key figure in the transmission of esoteric knowledge. A majority of Sufi streams trace their sources of spiritual knowledge to `Ali. A comparison is made between the respective understandings of `Ali's role in the Twelver Shi'a and Sufi expressions. With the development of British colonial rule in nineteenth century India, Muslim traditions found themselves in a new political and religious context as a minority. Movements emerged to create fresh Muslim identities by which to address this situation. Drawing upon a scholarly past tradition, Ahmad Raza Khan led the AN 1-Sunnat movement alongside other Sunni groups and the Shi'a tradition. Within British India, Muslim groups found themselves in rivalry and competition with each other for adherents and to some extent in rivalry with Christian missionaries and Hindu revivalists. Amongst the symbols used in the intra-faith conflict were the Prophet, `Ali and their family. An examination is made of the process by which religious ideas concerning `Ali have been transferred by the migration of Muslim groups from South Asia into the British context. Rivalry between Ah! i-Sunnat wa jama'at and Shi'a groups has continued in their use of `Ali as a symbol of their respective theological emphases. Critical reading of texts in English and English translation relating to the evolution of understandings of devotion to `Ali ibn Abu Talib amongst Twelver Shi'a and Ahl i-Sunnat traditions in the UK is addressedExamination follows of essential elements of devotion accorded to Imam `Ali and to the Prophet Muhammad, and the extent to which each mode of devotion has influenced the other. Parallels are examined between the two traditions regarding the sources of their respective understandings of `Ali ibn Abu Talib. Conclusions are offered from fieldwork and textual study in discussing possible common derivations of these models of devotion and understandings

The attention of scholars towards the protection of the Sunna, as a second primary source in Islamic law, started from the early centuries. Among those scholars was Abu Dawud, who was concerned in collecting the hidiths that discussed the Prophet's Sunan,in a book which he named Sunan Abi Dawud. The value of this book among Hadith books led scholars such as Alc-Ayni to write commentaries on it, to create a body of in-depth organised discussions of Fiqh rules. This thesis discusses part of Al-Aynis Sharh on Sunan Abi Dawud regarding the rules on specific kinds of voluntary prayers, namely, voluntary prayers after obligatory prayer, Duha prayer, Tasbih prayer,and night prayer. A detailed discussion of the different opinions of the scholars, especially the four main Islamic schools of law, is presented, with each school's evidences, and the scholars' attempts to reconcile conflicting Hadiths are also considered. Explanatory notes are given on the scholars and places mentioned in the manuscript, as well as difficult vocabulary. A full account is given of the documentation of each hadith in the manuscript. Al-Aynis manuscript is set in its historical and cultural context in an introductory section on the author's life and the era in which he lives, the Mamlukiepoch. Al-'Ayni' lived at the time of the Mamluki rule over Egypt, in which scholars were respected and honoured. The Mamluki facilitated scholarship by offering endowments, and building institutes of learning, so that cultural life flourished. Set against this, however, was a political background of widespread corruption, in which bribery was commonplace. Al-Ayni's life and the effect of the characteristics of his epoch on his writings are discussed with an analysis of the style he adopted in writing his commentary, and the academic value of his manuscript. Devotion to a single school of law was common in the Mamluki epoch. Al-Ayni followed the Hanafi school of law and in his Sharh his fanatical adherence to the opinions of his school are evident. Nevertheless, his thorough, systematic approach to his commentary,and comprehensive coverage of historical, biographical,linguistic and juristic matters, make this work an important contribution to the Fiqh literature, which had a profound effect on subsequent scholarship.

This chapter is the fifth section of Kadivar’s ‘Treatise on Refuting the Punishment for Blasphemy and Apostasy’. It discusses the subject in four periods: No one during the time of the Prophet was killed solely on the charge of apostasy. Rather, it was for some other transgression. The Ahl al-Bayt did not endorse those killed during the reigns of the first three caliphs (632–656) under the title of ahl al-ridda (the people of “apostasy”). No reliable evidence indicates that Imam Ali executed anyone for apostasy during his caliphate. The other Imams never ordered anyone to be executed for abandoning Islam. No one disputes that the Umayyad and ‘Abbasid caliphs sentenced people to death for apostasy. However, no reliable proof substantiates that these executions were carried out in accord with the Imams’ instructions or implicit consent. The author concludes: No reliable evidence proves that the Prophet, Imam Ali or the other Imams ordered people to be executed solely for apostasy. The death penalty meted out to the apostates under the first three caliphs, as well as under the Umayyads and the ‘Abbasids, cannot be advanced as proofs in the school of Ahl al-Bayt.

This chapter investigates critically the Treatise on Rights (Resalat al-Huquq) of the fourth Shi‘a Imam ‘Ali b. al-Husain Sajad (48–94 h/658–713 ad), which is mostly ethical teachings and in fact, was a letter he wrote to one of his companions. The chapter includes the following: first, a brief consideration of the sources of the treatise, assessing the documents of the treatise, determining the most accurate text of the treatise among differing versions, and a general review of the introduction and categorization of the fifty-one rights listed in the treatise. Following this, the chapter addresses the meaning of “rights” in the Treatise of Rights. To do so, the chapter will distinguish various terminologies of right in the Qur’an, the hadith as well as in philosophy, theology, ethics and fiqh, and compare Imam Sajjad’s notion of “right” with the concept as it appears in the philosophy of law, political philosophy and law. Finally, and as an example, the chapter analyses the section on political rights (al-huquq al-asasi), that is, the rights of the sultan and the people (the ruler and the ruled) in relation to one another.

Using the Ashura movement and the way of Husain b. Ali as case studies, this chapter proves that political freedoms are an integral part of the presence of Islam in the public sphere. The massacre at Karbala was one of the biggest turning points in the history of Islam. This chapter discusses this tragedy from the perspective of human rights, focusing on the rights of political opposition in the shari‘a. Husain b. Ali is the best example of political opposition against unjust rulers in the history of Islam. There are three concepts that should not be confused: political opposition, baghi and muharib. Muharib refers to opposition in the form of terrorists and criminals, while baghi refers to regime changers or freedom fighters. These are the sections of this chapter: Husain b. This chapter explores the influential role of Frenchman Arthur Gobineau in introducing a narrative of Ali Muhammad, the Bab, to Europe in the mid-nineteenth century. The Bab’s claim to be the Imam-Mahdi promised in Shi’ism is shown to have been obfuscated by Gobineau whose account Christianised him and valorised Iran as an Aryan country detached from Islam. The Christianising motif was further deployed by Shoghi Effendi in his canonical twentieth-century rewriting of a nineteenth-century narrative on Babism. Two other key orientalists, E.G. Browne and A.L.M Nicolas, were enlisted by Shoghi Effendi for this project even though they were supporters of the Azali opponents of the Baha’is. Finally, Gobineau’s contribution to the myth of Iran’s rebirth as an Aryan nation is located within the impetus western orientalism gave to twentieth-century Iranian nationalist movements.

In his open letter to a Shi’ite authority in December 2013, Kadivar wrote: Naser Makārem Shīrāzī’s opinions and fatwas represent the vanguard of an inquisition in Shiʿism, especially the horrific fatwas he issued against Dr. ‘Alī Aṣghar Gharavī, author of the article “Imam [Ali]: Political Leader or Exemplary Role Model?” These are briefly and critically analysed below. It has seven sections and a conclusion: (1) the inability to tolerate a dissenting article; (2) the stance of a marja‘ al-taqlīd of Qom on matters that differ from “mainstream” opinion; (3) Makārem Shīrāzī’s previous opinions on the freedom of expression; (4) the jurisprudential basis of imposing limits on circulating a dissenting opinion; (5) issuing new fatwas to narrow the limits of expression of those who think differently; (6) other examples of restrictive fatwas; and (7) the difference in status between a marja‘ and ordinary citizens. Finally, he ties up loose ends and provide a conclusion.

Definiranje stilnih predlog CSS v datotekah JavaScript, oz. CSS-v-JS (angl. CSS-in-JS) predstavlja sodoben pristop k oblikovanju spletnih strani, ki ne zahteva uporabe zunanjih datotek CSS, ampak celotno oblikovanje CSS definiramo v programskem jeziku JavaScript. Pri tem ohranimo vso sintakso, pravila in razumevanje CSS, le implementacijo prestavimo v datoteko JavaScript. Ogrodja za razvoj odjemalskega dela spletnih strani ne podpirajo CSS-v-JS pristopa, zato imamo v ta namen na voljo več kot 50 knjižnic. Po drugi strani ima običajen pristop oblikovanja spletnih aplikacij še vedno jasne prednosti. Uporaba različnih metodologij ali tehnologij ostaja pogost pristop oblikovanja spletnih strani, ki ne zahteva učenja novega ogrodja. CSS-v-JS se vse pogosteje uveljavlja kot alternativa, saj ima CSS svojevrstne težave, ki se kažejo v prekrivanju stilov, pomanjkanju izolacije in v pomanjkanju tehnologije za odstranjevanje neuporabljenih stilov (angl. dead code elimination). Glede na vse večjo priljubljenost in uporabnost pristopa CSS-v-JS smo se v sklopu članka osredotočili na primerjavo omenjenega pristopa z običajnim načinom. V primerjalni analizi se bomo omejili na knjižnico React, za vključitev CSS-v-JS pa bomo uporabili knjižnico styled-components, saj ta velja za eno bolj priljubljenih knjižnic za rabo v ta namen.

Dopolnilne dejavnosti na kmetiji so na slovenskih kmetijah vse pomembnejše. Kmetije jih prepoznavajo kot dodaten vir prihodkov. Zato se število kmetij z dopolnilnimi dejavnostmi iz leta v leto povečuje. V letu 2022 je bilo preko 5.000 kmetij z registriranimi dopolnilnimi dejavnostmi. Vsaka kmetija ima lahko registriranih več dejavnosti in tako so kmetije registrirale preko 20.000 dejavnosti. Kmetije se najpogosteje odločajo za registracijo dejavnosti predelave primarnih proizvodov in storitev s kmetijsko in gozdarsko opremo. Sicer se kmetije lahko odločijo za registracijo 133 dejavnosti, ki jih izvajajo kot dopolnilne dejavnosti. Za registracijo se najbolj odločajo manjše do srednje velike kmetije in kmetije na območjih z omejenimi dejavniki. Po pregledu literature in analize dopolnilnih dejavnosti v letu 2022 lahko zaključimo, da so dopolnilne dejavnosti dobra priložnost za stabilizacijo dohodkov marsikatere slovenske kmetije.

Hotelski sustav ima više modula ugostiteljstva te je u svakom prisutna kava kao proizvod i usluga. Pristup za svaki modul je drugačiji te postoje parametri koji definiraju koja kava se služi u kojem ugostiteljskom modulu. Uvođenje novih trendova u kavi donosi osvježenje u ponudu hotelskog sustava, ima imperativ podizanja kvalitete sirovine na specialty kvalitetu te kuhanja i posluživanja kave prema potrebama modula. Trendovi u ugostiteljstvu promijenili su navike gosta i u kavi. Kava kao finalni proizvod mora poštivati proizvodne standarde, što uniformiranost proizvoda i svježinu postavlja kao imperativ. Očekivanja gosta od šalice kave su se povećala jer je senzibilizirao nepce. Cijeni se porijeklo i transparentnost, kako u hrani, tako i u kavi, tako da proizvod s više informacija ima veću vrijednost. Kvaliteta napitka ponekad ne ovisi o kvaliteti kave, već i o stilu kuhanja. Funkcionalnost i cijena nisu više jedini parametri pri odabiru. Dostop do kibernetskega prostora in posledično dostop do najrazličnejših storitev interneta sta postala stalnica v praktično vseh okoljih. Obstaja pa razlika v dostopnosti in širini pasovnega dostopa (hitrosti interneta) med mestnimi in podoželskimi področji. Tako imamo primere, ko imajo podeželska okolja popolnoma novo infrastrukturo z velikimi hitrostmi prenosa podatkov, v mestnih okoljih pa zastarelo infrastrukturo in počasen prenos podatkov. In obratno. Obenem imamo še vedno področja, kjer je dostopnost do kibernetskega prostora zelo omejena ali pa je ni. Omenjeno deli uporabnike na bolj in manj privilegirane, obenem pa predstavlja varnostno grožnjo uporabnikom z vidika razpoložljivosti, vključevanja in izmenjevanja podatkov ter povezovanja, rabe storitev in dostopnosti do informacij. Prispevek prikazuje razlike in vključenost podeželskih in mestnih okolij v kibernetski prostor, dostope do informacij in storitev ter grožnje uporabnikom z različnih geografskih področij pri dostopu do kibernetskega prostora. Prispevek z vidika dostopa do kibernetskega prostora naslavlja tudi različna področja ciljev trajnostnega razvoja, ki jih kot prioritete postavlja Organizacija združenih narodov v okviru trajnostnega, skladno z Agendo 2030 (United Nations, n. d.).

Poslovna analitika lahko pomaga podjetjem sprejeti boljše in informirane odločitve ne glede na velikost podjetja. Na podlagi podatkov podjetja boljše razumejo obnašanje svojih strank ali pridobijo vpogled v konkurenco. Pri tem ne gre zanemariti tehničnih izzivov, ki pridejo s področjem in na finančne, človeške, tehnične, pa tudi strateške omejitve pri reševanju. Podatke je potrebno prečrpati, obdelati, analizirati, vizualizirati in na koncu pripraviti v obliki, ki jo uporabniki razumejo in jo uporabijo kot osnovo za odločanje. Vsak korak predstavlja specifiko in ima svoj nabor omejitev, dodaten vir izzivov pa predstavljajo tudi zunanje storitve, od katerih pridobivamo podatke in nad katerimi načeloma nimamo kontrole. Databox ima več kot deset let izkušenj z reševanjem izzivov na tem področju. V prispevku bomo predstavili, kako smo se lotili njihovega reševanja, da bi uporabniku čim bolj približali podatke na intuitiven in razumljiv način, ki jim daje dodano vrednost, omenili bomo tudi, kakšni izzivi nas čakajo v bližnji in srednji prihodnosti.

Predmet ovog članka je prikaz reformi organizacije i funkcionisanja grada Beograda posle 2000. godine, sa naglaskom na sadašnje stanje. Najvažniji deo ove analize je način podele nadležnosti između države, grada i gradskih opština kao i mesnih zajednica kao podopštinskog nivoa lokalne vlasti. Rad po strukturi prati bitne aspekte sistema lokalne vlasti: status, izbori, organizacija vlasti, nadležnost, finansiranje, u manjoj meri službe, pružanje usluga, ali većina ovih tema je integrisana u tekst. Naglasak je stavljen na podelu nadležnosti i donekle na finansijsku regulativu. Cilj rada je da se analiziraju instrumenti demokratizacije (mogućnost uključivanja građana u odlučivanje) i razvoja preduzetničkih kapaciteta grada Beograda, jer on ima veće potencijale od drugih jedinica lokalne samouprave u Srbiji da obezbedi veći opseg i bolji kvalitet usluga usled ekonomije obima. Istraživačko pitanje: Da li je model organizacije Beograda dovoljno demokratski, do koje mere je decentralizovan (posebno u pogledu podele nadležnosti između grada i gradskih opština kao i forme neposrednog uključivanja građana u procese odlučivanja) i da li načelno odgovara potrebama građana i zajednice (usluge krojene prema potrebama građana)? Metode: U radu će se koristiti analiza sadržaja dokumenata (pravne regulative i zakonskog modela uređenja grada) kao i studija u ovoj oblasti, zatim komparativna iskustva uređenja Beograda iz raznih faza razvoja i sinteza (dedukcija) svih iskustava u neka opštija znanja koja se mogu koristiti u poboljšanju organizacije Beograda ali i drugih gradova. Ovaj članak je urađen kao studija slučaja Beograda. Autorka je u radu koristila svoja višedecenijska iskustva iz reformi uređenje Beograda (decentralizacija, demokratizacija, modernizacija upravljanja). Za ovaj tekst su od velikog značaja brojne javne rasprave i razgovori sa funkcionerima gradskih opština i grada iz svih faza reformi, kao i u sadašnjem trenutku. Oni daju ovoj studiji jaču vezu sa životnim i praktičnim problemima, izazovima i napravljenim rešenjima. Očekivani rezultati: Ova analiza je dobra osnova za učenje drugih gradova iz iskustva – dobre, ali i loše prakse funkcionisanja Beograda.

Industrijski turizem je nišni turistični produkt, ki lahko služi kot učinkovit način preseganja negativnih učinkov sezon na turizem. Poleg tega je industrijski turizem tudi primerno orodje za trajnostni razvoj destinacije, torej za oživitev nekdanjih industrijskih lokacij ali manj razvitih aktivnih industrijskih krajev. Prvič, industrijo lahko predstavi turistom in novim strankam. Drugič, lahko spodbudi razvoj infrastrukture in pomaga ohraniti tradicionalno tehnično znanje o industrijskih procesih. Kot študijo primera smo izbrali Metliko, majhno slovensko mesto, ki ima zelo dolgo tradicijo tekstilne industrije. Z uporabo intervjujev z lokalnimi turističnimi organizacijami ter vodstvom tekstilnih podjetij in s terenskim opazovanjem tekstilnih industrijskih lokacij smo proučili sedanje stanje in pripravljenost za razvoj ponudbe industrijskega turizma, ki bi lahko spodbudila lokalni razvoj. V ugotovitvah predstavljamo možnosti, ki jih imajo Metlika in druga podobna majhna mesta za oživitev tega območja in spodbujanje trajnostnega razvoja s pomočjo ponudbe industrijskega turizma.

Karizma je skupek lastnosti, tehnik in dejanj, ki jih posameznik poseduje in jih, namerno ali nenamerno, uporablja pri interakciji z okoljem. Taka oseba ima velik potencial, da vpliva na dejanja drugih in si s tem pridobi somišljenike oziroma sledilce. Karizmatični vodje, prav zaradi svojih izjemnih sposobnosti, pridejo do vpliva v času kriznih situacij, ko množica potrebuje motivacijo in vizijo. Najbolj opazne lastnosti karizmatičnih oseb so komunikacijske sposobnosti, zrelost, ponižnost, sočutje, sposobnost izvedbe, samozavest, pozitivna govorica telesa, sposobnost poslušanja, samokontrola in samoizpopolnjevanje. Ugotavljamo, da je posedovanje karizmatičnih lastnosti zelo pomembno, saj to vodje naredi uspešnejše, to pa rezultira v bolj produktivne in privržene zaposlene. Povzemamo tudi, da lahko s karizmo škodujemo, v primeru, da oseba hrepeni po moči in se odloča sebično ter v lastno korist. Nekatere karizmatične osebe označujejo tudi kot narcistične. Za potrebe raziskave smo uporabili kritični pregled sekundarnih virov, ki smo ga nadgradili z metodo sinteze ter diskusijo ugotovitev.

Vojska in njeno usposabljanje, kot temelj suverene države in ključni del nacionalno varnostnega sistema, ima pomembno vlogo pri pripravljenosti na izredne razmere ter varnosti države. Slovenija se sooča s pomanjkanjem stalne in rezervne vojaške sestave. Na podlagi kritičnega pregleda sekundarnih virov in kompilacije smo opisali zakaj je pomembno vojaško usposabljanje ter zakaj je pomemben prenos teh veščin in znanj na civilno prebivalstvo. Podali smo stališča in argumente. Ugotovili smo, da so vojaška znanja in veščine ključne v delovanju izrednih razmer, kot so bile nesreče Černobil 1986, Fukushima Dai-ichi 2011 in avstralski požari 2019-2020; ter, da obstaja več priporočil in pozivov za usposabljanje državljanov. Potrebno je raziskati, katera vojaška znanja in veščine naj prebivalstvo pridobi, ter postaviti model prenosa. Te veščine in znanja so pomembna tako v naravnih in tehnoloških nesrečah, kot v obrambi pred morebitnim sovražnikom. Bolje biti pripravljen v miru, kot nepripravljen v vojni ali izrednih razmerah.

Disponer de información temprana sobre la evolución de la actividad económica regional se ha convertido en una prioridad, especialmente como herramienta para evaluar choques a la economía como el ocurrido con la pandemia del Covid-19. En este estudio se construyó un indicador coincidente mensual de actividad económica (IMAE) para la región Caribe, enmarcado en un modelo factorial dinámico y estimado por medio del filtro de Kalman, para el periodo comprendido entre enero de 2001 y diciembre de 2020. El indicador está compuesto por trece variables representativas de las principales actividades económicas de la región. Los resultados muestran que los movimientos experimentados por el indicador en 2020 se comportaron acorde con las medidas de aislamiento aplicadas y con las tasas de incidencia de contagios. Según cifras preliminares, en 2020 la economía del Caribe cayó en un 6,8%, equivalente al resultado nacional. En particular, el desempeño regional se vio afectado al cierre del año por la parálisis en la actividad minera y las nuevas medidas restrictivas.

Structural and biomechanical parameters of Edible Frog, Pelophylax esculentus (Linnaeus, 1758), limb bones, namely, mass, linear dimensions, parameters of the shaft ’s cross-sectional shape (cross-sectional area, moments of inertia, radiuses of inertia) were investigated. Some coeffi cients were also estimated: diameters ratio (df/ds), cross-sectional index (ik), principal moments of inertia ratio (Imax/Imin). Coeffi cients of variation of linear dimensions (11.9–20.0 %) and relative bone mass (22–35 %) were established. Moments of inertia of various bones are more variable (CV = 41.67–56.35 %) in relation to radii of inertia (CV = 9.68–14.67 %). Shaft ’s cross-sectional shape is invariable in all cases. However, there is high individual variability of structural and biomechanical parameters of P. esculentus limb bones. Variability of parameters was limited by the certain range.We suggest the presence of stable norm in bone structure. Stylopodium bones have the primary biomechanical function among the elements of limb skeleton, because their parameters most clearly responsiveto changes in body mass.

The article reveals scientific approaches to substantiating and developing technology to form social information competence of future Iraqi journalists based on using a dynamic pedagogical site. After pre-interviewing students of the Journalism Faculty at Al-Imam Al-Kadhim University College for Islamic Sciences in Baghdad, the authors came to the conclusion there are issues on defining the essence of social information competences. It is established that the majority of respondents do not feel satisfied with the conditions for forming these competences in the education institutions. At the same time, there were also positive trends as most future journalists recognized the importance of these professional competences for their professional development and had a desire to attend additional courses, including distance learning ones. Subsequently, the authors focused on social information competence of future journalists, which is a key issue according to European requirements. The authors describe the essence of this competence as an integrative quality of personality, which characterizes an ability to select, transform information and allows to organize effective professional communication on the basis of the use of modern communicative technologies in the process of individual or team work. Based on the analysis of literary sources, its components are determined: motivational, cognitive, operational and personal. The researchers came to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop a technology for forming social information competence of future journalists based on the use of modern information technologies. The necessity of technology implementation through the preparatory, motivational, operational and diagnostic correction stages was substantiated and its model was developed. The authors found that the main means of technology implementation should be a dynamic pedagogical site, which, unlike static, allows to expand technical possibilities by using such applications as photo galleries, RSS modules, forums, etc. Technically, it can be created using Site builder. Further research will be aimed at improving the structure of the dynamic pedagogical site of the developed technology.

Bosna i Hercegovina prihvata načelno globalna opredjeljenja i proklamovane ciljeve relevantnih međunarodnih institucija (Pariški Sporazum, Evropski Zeleni Plan, i drugi) za prelaz na održivi niskougljenični razvoj baziran na kružnoj ekonomiji neuslovljenoj upotrebom prirodnih resursa, te težnju ka nultoj neto emisiji stakleničkih gasova. U energetskom sektoru to podrazumijeva povećanje energijske efikasnosti, te bezuvjetni prelaz na obnovljive izvore energije i eliminaciju fosilnih goriva. I dok je opšte opredjeljenje nesporno, način i dinamika ostvarenja pojedinih ciljeva u zacrtanom roku do 2050. godine sa najmanje negativnih ekonomskih, socijalnih, sigurnosnih i političkih posljedica predstavlja ozbiljni izazov, posebno u zemljama koje se, kao Bosna i Hercegovina, tradicionalno oslanjaju na sopstveni ugalj kao primarni energent. U cilju doprinosa iznalaženju optimalnih rješenja u energetskoj transformaciji, a u okviru Plana rada za 2019 godinu, Odbor za energiju, energetiku i okoliš (OEEO) Akademije nauka i umjetnosti Bosne i Hercegovine (ANUBiH) u saradnji i uz finansijsku podršku JP Elektroprivreda Bosne i Hercegovine d.d. Sarajevo, je organizovao regionalnno naučno-stručno savjetovanje: Budućnost postojećih i novih termoelektrana u BiH u energetskoj tranziciji, koje je održano 21. 11. 2019. godine u ANUBiH u Sarajevu. Cilj Savjetovanja je bio da nauka i struka, pod pokroviteljstvom i u okviru ANUBiH, u saradnji sa stručnjacima iz EU i Regije razmjene iskustva, stavove i planove o upotrebi uglja i biogoriva u proizvodnji električne i toplinske energije u periodu do 2050. godine. Na Savjetovanju, kojem su prisustvovali predstavnici vlasti i zvaničnih institucija iz BiH, naučni radnici, stručnjaci, menadžmenti elektroprivrednih organizacija iz oba bh. entiteta, je na bosanskom, srpskom, hrvatskom ili engleskom jeziku na prethodno odabrane teme izloženo 15 referata po pozivu. Pored stručnjaka iz BiH, referate su podnijeli i pozvani eksperti iz zemalja EU i okruženja sa elektroprivrednom strukturom i izazovima u toj oblasti sličnim kao što ih ima i BiH, a koje u proizvodnji električne energije karakteriše značajni, ili čak dominantni oslonac na fosilna goriva, naročito ugalj. U referatima su izloženi mogući modeli tranzicije i iskustva iz BiH, Srbije, Grčke, Sjeverne Makedonije, Poljske i Njemačke. Prošireni sažeci i slide prezentacije svih referata na jezicima na kojima su referati izloženi, kao i Zaključci Savjetovanja su sadržani u ovom Posebnom izdanju ANUBiH. Savjetovanje je potvrdilo da je dekarbonizacija elektroenergetskog sektora u EU i Regiji do 2050. godine opravdan, ali i veoma zahtjevan cilj. Svaka država koja se obavezala za takav cilj, mora razviti svoj model održive tranzicije, koristeći vlastito znanje, pomoć eksperata EU, te iskustva i modele drugih. U tom smislu zaključeno je da je veoma važno u što je moguće kraćem roku, u saradnji sa Energetskom zajednicom, detaljno i odgovorno koncipirati razvoj energetskog sektora u Bosni i Hercegovini u tranzicijskom periodu, dajući pritom do znanja Evropskoj uniji, ali i svima drugima, da je Bosna i Hercegovina spremna pratiti i ispoštovati generalno postavljene ciljeve u toj oblasti, uvažavajući pri tom svoju potrebu za energetskom neovisnošću. U tom cilju potrebno je definirati jasnu viziju, sa prohodnim putem do postavljenih ciljeva, uzimajući u obzir sve relevantne direktive i regulativu EU, ali i realne mogućnosti i potrebe Bosne i Hercegovine. Iskustva i poruke izložene u referatima, diskusije tokom Savjetovanja, te saznanja do kojih smo došli, a koji su sumirani u Zaključcima ovog dokumenta, čine korisnu bazu i orijentir za konkretizaciju strategije za aktuelnu tranziciju energetskog sektora BiH.
