Resumen
The subject of the study is the formation of the structure of a network enterprise, considered as a set of interacting enterprises in a networked Internet environment that implements a value chain. To build the structure of the network enterprise, it is proposed to use and support the ontology of the network enterprise, which conceptually reflects the models of products and related production and business processes throughout the life cycle. At the same time, the focus is on the implementation of flexible processes for creating innovative products using intelligent model-oriented technologies. The purpose of the study is to build an algorithm for forming the structure of a network enterprise that would ensure the best implementation of the value chain with minimal risks of mismatch of designs and production processes with qualitative value characteristics and requirements for an innovative product. The construction of an algorithm for forming the structure of a network enterprise involves solving the problems of modeling the structure of an innovative product based on an analysis of qualitative value characteristics and requirements for product components, its creation processes, distribution of roles of enterprise participants and analysis of their capabilities.Methods. As the main research method is the method of constructing a model of “digital thread” of creating an innovative product. The most complete application of this method is carried out as part of the reference model of enterprise architecture for Industrie 4.0 (RAMI). The resulting conceptual model of an innovative product and related production and business processes is implemented using an ontological approach. It is proposed to use a combination of QFD (Quality Function Deployment) methods for deploying the structure of a network enterprise and analyzing the types and consequences of potential FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) inconsistencies. The main results of the study are ontology and the algorithm for forming the structure of the network enterprise. A distinctive feature of the proposed ontology of the network enterprise is a clear separation of the valuable qualitative characteristics of the product and the requirements for its creation, as well as the allocation of the abilities of participants in enterprises to implement the necessary processes. The novelty of the presented algorithm for the formation of the structure of a network enterprise lies in the combined application of the QFD and FMEA methods, as well as in the iteration of modeling the structure of an innovative product from the position of the best implementation of quality value characteristics and functional requirements. Conclusions, prospects. The proposed algorithm for creating the structure of a network enterprise allows you to get the best decisions on the criterion for assessing the highest rating for the implementation of quality characteristics and requirements for the components of the value chain and its participants, provided that minimal risk assessments of the mismatch between the designs and processes of creating innovative products are obtained. The developed ontology and the algorithm for forming the structure of the network enterprise is of practical importance for creating an intelligent system for supporting the adoption of innovative decisions for the dynamic construction of network enterprises in the Internet environment.

Resumen
Purpose This paper aims to propose an approach for exploring industrial marketing network environments through a social semiotic lens. Design/methodology/approach This conceptual paper introduces social semiotic perspectives to the study of business/industrial network interaction. Findings This paper describes how structures of meaning derived from a cultural history of signification and interpretive processes of meaning in action are co-determined in social semiosis. The meaning of environments using this social semiotic approach is emphasised, leading us to explore the idea of the “atmosemiosphere” – the most highly complex business network level, in illustrating how meaning is made through structuration between structures of meaning and their enactments in interactions between actors within living business networks. Practical Implications Figurative language plays an important role in the structuration of meaning. This facilitates establishing plots and, therefore, in the actors’ capability to tell a story, which starts with knowing what kind of story can be told. By implication, the effective networker must be a consummate moving “picture maker” and, to do so, she must have competence in narrative, emplotment, myth-making, storytelling and figuration in more than one discursive repertoire. Originality/value In using a structurational discourse perspective informed by social semiotics, our original contribution is a “business networks as discursive constructions” approach, in that discursive nets, webs of narratives and stories and labyrinths of tropes are considered just as important in constituting networks as networks of actor relationships and patterns of other activities and resources.

Resumen
Digital transition in the maritime industry creates new organizational models and affects the relationship between actors. New relationships require new business models (BMs). In addition, due to the paradigm of green shifts towards a zero-emission future of maritime shipping in 2050, stricter regulations require new solutions, and “business as usual” is not actual anymore. Thus, the study aims to investigate key drivers for creating new BMs and factors for their effective implementation by companies. The results of the study point to the main reasons for creating BMs. It was revealed that there are several external and internal prerequisites. Moreover, it was proved that considering the current tendency of the interfaces in relationships with different industries, it is important to talk about the development of BMs not only from a supply chain perspective. Moreover, it should be considered from the point of view of network value. Hence, the study highlights the need for a further investigation that aims to design new solutions, implement, test, and observe the effect of new BMs, considering collaborative ties between interested parties. AcknowledgmentThe study is supported by the grant from the Research Based Innovation “SFI Marine Operation in Virtual Environment (SFI-MOVE)” (Project no: 237929) in Norway.

Resumen
The development and growth of Taiwan's industries, especially the semiconductor and electronics industries, has been emphasizing overwhelmingly on cost-leadership innovation and strategy. Although such capital-intensive, volume-driven and cost-down strategies have been successfully measured by industrial and economic growth, the amounts of value created and captured in global value chain and innovation networks are insignificant. We apply the framework of creation and capture of value to analyze the industrial value creation strategy in newly industrialized countries for the last four decades. We examine their past industrial policy and business strategy, and argue that the transformation of policy and strategy must gear toward creating and capturing higher value in the global innovation network. Several managerial and policy implications are also discussed.

Resumen
Industrial symbiosis networks conventionally provide economic and environmental benefits to participating industries. However, most studies have failed to quantify waste management solutions and identify network connections in addition to methodological variation of assessments. This study provides a comprehensive model to conduct sustainable study of industrial symbiosis, which includes identification of network connections, life cycle assessment of materials, economic assessment, and environmental performance using standard guidelines from the literature. Additionally, a case study of industrial symbiosis network from Sodankylä region of Finland is implemented. Results projected an estimated life cycle cost of €115.20 million. The symbiotic environment would save €6.42 million in waste management cost to the business participants in addition to the projected environmental impact of 0.95 million tonne of CO2, 339.80 tonne of CH4, and 18.20 tonne of N2O. The potential of further cost saving with presented optimal assessment in the current architecture is forecast at €0.63 million every year.

Resumen
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a longitudinal case study of a regional innovation policy initiative, in which ideas with regard to how innovation might be facilitated were changing over time. Through the scrutiny of insights in industrial network studies (IMP), the authors seek to shed light on the challenges created by policy interventions aimed at constructing complementary networks for the facilitation of innovation. That is to say, the authors endeavour to understand the interfaces between innovation networks and industrial networks, and the way in which they may influence innovation. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on a longitudinal case study of four successive regional innovation projects in Norway. Data are drawn from relevant policy documents and project documentations, as well as from participatory observation of application processes and project activities. Findings This study shows that regional innovation policy concerns first and foremost the interaction within and between relatively established diverse networks, which affects both structuring and restructuring. Changes in innovation policy required the re-configuring of constellations of business networks, research networks and policy networks. All initiatives required mobilisation input by persistent actors – often boundary organisations or researchers. The construction of innovation networks served as an instrument in the production of new interfaces between businesses, researchers and policy makers. The use and usefulness of these networks as perceived by the business actors were heavily influenced by the way in which the networks were configured. Research limitations/implications Generalisation based on in-depth qualitative case research requires further testing across similar and varying cases, and there have hitherto been relatively few studies of the interfaces between industrial and innovation networks. Despite this it can be argued that the conceptual distinction between constructed and emerging networks is a productive one in the study of networked innovation dynamics. During the research into this longitudinal case, it has been interesting to observe the way in which innovation research, and thus its influence on innovation policy, has changed over time. It would be beneficial if further studies were to be conducted on the way in which this has played out. Practical implications The administration of the public funding of innovation network activities requires great care. Where innovation policy initiatives are closely related to established industrial networks, it may be possible to strengthen innovation dynamics, challenge established practices and conceptions, and contribute to expanding, or even initiate innovation activities. In the first place, new activities need to be initiated in a way that supports the long-term development of actual business networks; and second, innovation policy bodies should be prepared to stimulate activity over longer periods of time. Originality/value This paper engages in, and combines, two parallel and rarely interacting debates on, respectively, innovation within innovation policy (innovation systems, clusters, networks) and industrial network studies (IMP and others). The authors make an “ideal type” distinction between alternative “constructed” networks and “emerging” networks, and the way in which they influence innovations.

Resumen
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the benefits of using the business network channel (Bunch) approach for modelling business networks and studying the business network evolution. Business network models put the structures of process models into context by visualising roles and communication channels for social interactions. Design/methodology/approach – The research applies a case study-based approach involving the creation of business network visualisations to capture snapshots of an industrial firm's business network over a three-year period. A questionnaire-based study was also conducted with 18 key informants to evaluate the Bunch approach against existing business network modelling techniques. Findings – This study shows that when business networks – as opposed to business processes – are diagrammatically modelled, patterns of relations between individuals can also be visualised and factored into how information systems are (re)designed and deployed. The study also finds that as business networks evolve, the ability to offer complementary channels of communication and coordinate business/technological information is vital to how upturns in process times improves overall business effectiveness and efficiency. Originality/value – The major contribution of this paper is an exposition on how the Bunch approach could serve as a pedagogical tool for gaining clarity on their roles and links within the business and as an analytical tool for studying the evolution of business networks in relation to roles, links, information technologies, business strategies and business network anomalies.

Resumen
This consideration of how innovation was exploited in primary processing industries during the period of the second industrial revolution draws on case material from frozen-meat and dairy-processing industries in New Zealand between 1880 and 1910, examining how entrepreneurial networks successfully created commodity chains for the exportation of produce to U.K. markets. Latin American commodity chains are considered as a counterpoint. What is suggested is that despite the absence of large-scale firms and significant foreign capital, New Zealand producers, relying on network-based organizational forms, successfully entered overseas markets, capitalizing on information sharing, rapid diffusion of technology, and loose alliances that exploited complementary skills and assets.

Resumen
This study deals with the estimation of the changes that occur in the Business-to-Business (B2B) networks in the Japanese textile and apparel industry by applying datasets of about 2000 companies from 2011/2012 to 2015/2016. Network analysis was used to examine the properties of the B2B networks. A factor of innovation in information and communications technology (ICT) and logistics technology was introduced into an agent-based model to demonstrate changes occurring in the related structures of B2B networks. The agent-based model was designed and tested based on qualitative information on Japanese textile and apparel industries. Consequently, network analysis revealed power-law properties and the structures of centralized hub companies. Moreover, in the simulation experiments, the centralizations of the networks generated by the agent-based model due to innovation in ICT and logistics technology were illustrated. Therefore, one of the predicted cases regarding changes that occur in the B2B networks was explained as centralizations to hub companies.

Resumen
Guanxi networks are critical for achieving entrepreneurial success in China. Informed by the literatures on network-based entrepreneurship and guanxi, this study used a multiple-case method to examine the development of Chinese entrepreneurs' guanxi networks in the entrepreneurial process. Data induction based on within- and cross-case analyses of six entrepreneurial firms revealed three major findings. First, guanxi network dynamics in terms of network structure, governance mechanisms, and network content change systematically across the stages of the entrepreneurship process. Second, the usefulness of guanxi ties (such as family, business associates, or government officials) is contingent on the stage of the entrepreneurial process as well as on industrial-level factors. Third, in knowledge-intensive industries, cultivating and maintaining guanxi can be achieved through knowledge and information exchange rather than traditional gift-giving or favours. The overall conclusion is that guanxi is still of paramount importance for Chinese entrepreneurs in the midst of China's transformation from a centrally planned to a socialist market economy. We propose a stage model of guanxi network development in the entrepreneurial process and discuss implications for future research.

Resumen
This thesis draws on work done as part of a joint research project on industrial networks in Hungary and Slovenia, in which I participated in studying the types and depth of cooperation between buyers and suppliers [Dyker et al. 2003]. The theoretical motivation for this study is that industrial ties between firms are socially embedded and that this social embeddedness needs to be considered in order to understand the process by which the economies of the post-socialist countries of Europe are integrating into European production networks. We chose Slovenia as a country that has benefited from a continuity of industrial ties and a familiarity in working with Western European companies dating already from the pre-transition period. The top managers of 47 companies in the engineering industries (NACE 29-35) were interviewed about cooperation with their buyers and suppliers. These industries are extremely important to the economy, especially in terms of exports, and our interviews cover a good fraction of these companies. We investigate the specifics of the business environment of companies in Slovenia, and examine how these specifics affect buyer-supplier relations. The research hypothesis is that the current business environment in place and operating in Slovenia has observable effects on inter-firm relations. Differences in business cultures arise not only because of differences in the tangible legal and economic institutions in place, but also from historically produced common understandings and practices which have become entrenched in the everyday interactions of business people. In testing this hypothesis we focused on companies in the complex manufacturing industries, which would most likely benefit from both upstream and downstream interfirm cooperation, and considered how the operating environment affects the consequent forms of cooperative ties. We find that legacies are at least as important as ownership forms in determining company behaviour

Resumen
The constellation of the customer base has implications for the company’s future survivability. Within the business-to-business markets, the customer relationships are characterized by technical and organizational interfaces. Understanding the customer relationships and using customer accounting can provide information about how to prioritize among the customers in order to improve short-term and long-term profitability. The framework by Lind and Strömsten (2006) where different customer accounting techniques are related to a typology over customer relationships is evaluated and further elaborated on in this thesis. The empirical findings both confirm the reasoning behind the framework and cause development potential. The relation of customer accounting techniques to different types of customer relationships is mainly confirmed by the study. Regarding the customer typology, the empirical findings bring forth proposed improvements; a grading of the technical and organizational interfaces of the customer relationship types is suggested.

Resumen
Cloud Manufacturing is emerging as a new manufacturing paradigm which is believed to change the way industries and enterprises do their businesses, in that dynamically scalable and virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet. It can transform the traditional manufacturing business model, help it align product innovation with business strategy, and create intelligent factory networks that encourage effective collaboration. This paper introduces the concept of Cloud Manufacturing and its characteristics. The relationship between Cloud Manufacturing and other network-based manufacturing paradigms are analysed, together with a discussion on the connection between Cloud Manufacturing and Cloud Computing, intending to highlight the essence of real Cloud Manufacturing. Existing architecture and key functionalities of Cloud Manufacturing systems are introduced to identify an effective way of implementing Cloud Manufacturing. In this paper, a Cloud Manufacturing platform, called SMC (Sustainable Manufacturing Cloud) is proposed to achieve rapid development of customized products. This is envisioned as a prominent future business model and implementation strategy for Cloud Manufacturing, allowing for the easy realization of customized and original requirements. With an industry network consisting of heterogeneous nodes, being either design agencies or fabrication workshops, product innovation and customization can be achieved with minimum investment and effort.

Resumen
Complex systems are not of static nature. Most are governed by a particular set of laws and behave accordingly to a certain range of expected inputs and variables, but they can also evolve in response to unforeseen stimulus. The same principle can be applied to industrial information systems. Larger systems such as an entire company or a network of companies may be divided into further subsystems, including information systems, each behaving autonomously but is still under influence of the others, interacting with them in a holistic manner. This paper explores this relationship and proposes a conceptual solution to the strain of sustaining interoperability in complex service-based networks from the domain of manufacturing. To such effect, and in order to tackle the complex relationships and dependencies implicit in web-service environments, information modeling is used, allowing for the optimization of several service engineering activities and enterprise business processes while maximizing the efficiency of system’s interactions. Hence, service modeling and orchestration is here suggested as a baseline to network monitoring, and as a possible approach to automatically handle and recover from erratic behavior, providing systems with adaptive web services and self-organizing capabilities.

The advent of smartphones and the emergence of instant messaging software have changed the ecology of the telecommunications industry, which has also led to a decrease in the profits of telecommunications companies year by year. In the face of the new generation of consumer groups with changing needs, Telecommunications operators have continued to improve their core capabilities. How to accurately grasp the needs of customers and respond quickly is one of the key capabilities for companies to create new opportunities. This paper discusses the operation of the three project management modes based on the improvement of the network service. It summarizes the way the project is carried out and its benefits analysis through the field research od and then uses the empathy analysis tool to make the project colleagues think in perspective and deeply understand the customer's pain points can also modify the function of the product (service) from customer feedback. The study found that if the hybrid project management model can be used well, in addition to speeding up the solution of customers’ network usage problems, it can also reduce unnecessary high network construction costs, which is a way of generating high value for both the company and customers project management model.

Resumen
In the past decade, the revolutionary advancement of technology brought the attention of academics and management practitioners to the innovative capability of organizations. Companies in knowledgeintensive industries increasingly focus on their ability of self-renewal and adaptation. Concurrently, organizational processes that support the amassment, management, sharing, and employment of knowledge have grown in importance. Organizational social network analysis provides the apparatus to explore knowledge networks in organizations by identifying relationships through which knowledge and information flow. Advice-seeking relationships have an essential role in knowledge production as they enable actors to acquire information, professional support, and knowledge elements they can recombine to form new knowledge. Advice-seeking always assumes trust between actors: by asking for help, one necessarily exposes their weakness to the other. What other relational conditions might there be of advice-seeking in organizational knowledge networks? What are the prerequisites for asking for help? In this paper, I examine the case of two knowledge-based organizations, both located in Hungary: (1) a business services center (390 employees) that offers professional services to B2B partners and (2) a higher education institution (583 employees). I analyzed data collected by a Budapest-based management consultancy that specializes in organizational social network research. I found that most independent variables were significant in the regression models. However, there was a notable difference between each variable’s relative explanatory power in the two cases. While process- and decisionrelated relationships seemed essential in the business services center, informal communication and interpersonal trust were more critical for advice-seeking relationships to form in the higher education institution.

Resumen
Cloud computing, as defined by United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), “... is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.” Goal of the study is to highlight the positive economical impacts of cloud computing for companies, which can be assessed by focusing on their business goals to make more profit. Under the cloud computing model, firms can rent as many virtual machines as they need at any given time, and either design or use off-the-shelf solutions to integrate company-wide data and then easily distribute access to users within and outside of the company. Hence, cloud computing converts fixed capital costs to variable costs, prevents under or over provisioning, and allows minute by minute flexibility. Hence, the companies concentrate on their own business goals on top on a stable and effective information technology backbone. Most literature on cloud computing reside in computer science resources. However, there is little work focusing on the social and economic significance of cloud computing in the economics literature. Hence, this paper first discusses the basics of the cloud computing along with its implications on information technology (IT) field, with paying special attention to economical aspects. Then, empirical results and elaborations are to be given to yield a conclusion.

Resumen
The focus in the businesses of manufacturing and selling technological devices has been increasingly shifting from USA and Europe towards Asiatic countries due to cost-effectiveness and lower costs of resources. In the areas where costs are inevitably higher, new measures have to be considered in order to be able to compete in the global economy. In this article, we study how can we utilize combined benefits of technological and service innovations in competing against the traditional product-oriented offerings. Product-service systems are integrated systems of products and services that create value through use for customers; the hypothesis in this article is that the efficiency of the business network can be increased by designing an integrated product-service system in comparison to the product-oriented approach. The hypothesis is studied via a real-life product-service system design case study of an automated recycling system, and system dynamics simulation is used to analyze the value created with the system in the related business network. In theory, product-service systems have many potential benefits in comparison to product-oriented offerings; identifying the benefits in practice in a case study increases the understanding of product-service systems design and facilitate their application in the industry.

Resumen
This paper examines how the generation of entrepreneurs 50+ should be addressed in order to raise their interest for improving their skills, and how young entrepreneurs and students can profit from the seniorpreneurs’ expertise in production processes and market knowledge as well as from their networks. To promote the promising synergies arising from the collaboration of young and elderly entrepreneurs a project was initiated that combines an integrated product development with business plan design support. Prospective entrepreneurs with industrial experience (seniorpreneurs) and innovative product ideas are matched with multidisciplinary student teams to generate a going-to-market prototype as a basis for starting new businesses. From the standpoint of research and development the balance is excellent with several promising product innovations and business plans for entrepreneurial implementation. The perspective of science and technology transfer demands an urgent desideratum to bring the accumulated value potential into the market.

Resumen
The article deals with the ways in which social networks and the blogosphere influence the formation and implementation of a PR campaign. Examples from the political sphere (election campaigns, initiatives), business (TV brands, traditional and online media) have revealed the opportunities that Facebook, Telegram, Twitter, YouTube and blogs promote in promoting advertising, ideas, campaigns, thoughts, or products. Author blogs created on special websites or online media may not be as much of a tool in PR as an additional tool on social media. It is noted that choosing a blog as the main tool of PR campaign has both positive and negative points. Social networks intervene in the sphere of human life, become a means of communication, promotion, branding. The effectiveness of social networks has been evidenced by such historically significant events as Brexit, the Arab Spring, and the Revolution of Dignity. Special attention was paid to the 2019 presidential election. Based on the analysis of individual PR campaigns, the reasons for successful and unsuccessful campaigns from the point of view of network communication, which provide unlimited multimedia and interactive tools for PR, are highlighted. In fact, these concepts significantly affect the effectiveness of the implementation of PR-campaign, its final effectiveness, which is determined by the achievement of goals. Attention is drawn to the culture of communication during the PR campaign, as well as the concepts of “trolls”, “trolling”, “bots”, “botoin industry”. The social communication component of these concepts is unconditional. Choosing a blog as the main tool of a marketing campaign has both positive and negative aspects. Only a person with great creative potential can run and create a blog. In addition, it takes a long time. In fact, these two points are losing compared to other internet marketing tools. Further research is interesting in two respects. First, a comparison of the dynamics of the effectiveness of PR-campaign tools in Ukraine in 2020 and in the past, in particular, at the dawn of state independence. Secondly, to investigate how/or the concept of PR-campaigns in social networks and blogs is constantly changing.
