Acute perforations are one of the recognised complications of both diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy. The incidence rate varies according to the type of procedure and the anatomical location within the GI tract. For decades, surgical treatment has been the standard of care, but endoscopic closure has become a more popular approach, due to feasibility and the reduction of the burden of surgery. Various devices are available now such as through-the-scope clips, over-the-scope clips, endoscopic suturing devices, stents, bands and omental patch. All have been tested in studies done on humans or animal models, with a reasonable overall technical and clinical success rate, proving efficiency and feasibility of endoscopic closure. The choice of which device to use depends on the site and the size of the perforation. It also depends on availability of thee device and the endoscopist’s experience. A number of factors that could predict success of endoscopic closure or favour surgical treatment have been suggested in different studies. After successful endoscopic closure, patients are usually kept nil by mouth and receive antibiotics for a duration that varied between different studies.

This paper explores how digital transformation has improved the delivery of immigration services. In contrast, this refers to the fact that, despite the existence of e-immigration services, there has been inadequate research to examine the e-immigration system in Tanzania. This paper explores the e-immigration portal, its advantages, and its challenges. Using a mixed-method, data were collected from secondary and primary sources through document review, portal analysis, interviews, and questionnaires. Primary and secondary data show that e-immigration portals can be accessed using personal computers, smartphones, and internet cafes. Also, the time for applicants to receive passports and travel documents has decreased from more than seven days in the old manual system to three days on average in the new e–immigration system. Following the transforming government process, immigration service delivery has been improved by implementing the e–immigration system. Thee–immigration services offer advantages to users like online application, online payment, time-saving, and costs, but challenges like digital literacy, inaccuracy of information, feedback, and network problems impact the system's smooth operation. Here digital literacy campaign, feedback mechanism, applicant support desk, and digital service desk are recommended.

Background:Sub-Saharan Africa bears a disproportionate burden of preterm birth and other adverse outcomes. A better understanding of the demographic, clinical, and biologic underpinnings of these adverse outcomes is urgently needed to plan interventions and inform new discovery. Methods:The Zambian Preterm Birth Prevention Study (ZAPPS) is a prospective observational cohort established at the Women and Newborn Hospital (WNH) in Lusaka, Zambia. We recruit pregnant women from district health centers and the WNH and offer ultrasound examination to determine eligibility. Participants receive routine obstetrical care, lab testing, midtrimester cervical length measurement, and serial fetal growth monitoring. At delivery, we assess gestational age, birthweight, vital status, and sex and assign a delivery phenotype. We collect blood, urine, and vaginal swab specimens at scheduled visits and store them in an on-site biorepository. In September 2017, enrollment of the ZAPPS Phase 1 – the subject of this report – was completed. Phase 2 – which is limited to HIV-uninfected women – reopened in January 2018. Results:Between August 2015 and September 2017, we screened 1784 women, of whom 1450 (81.2%) met inclusion criteria and were enrolled. The median age at enrollment was 27 years (IQR 23–32) and thee median gestational age was 16 weeks (IQR 13–18). Among parous women (N=866; 64%), 21% (N=182) reported a prior miscarriage, 49% (N=424) reported a prior preterm birth, and 13% (N=116) reported a prior stillbirth. The HIV seroprevalence was 24%. Discussion:We have established a large cohort of pregnant women and newborns at the WHN to characterize the determinants of adverse birth outcomes in Lusaka, Zambia. Our overarching goal is to elucidate biological mechanisms in an effort to identify new strategies for early detection and prevention of adverse outcomes. We hope that findings from this cohort will help guide future studies, clinical care, and policy.

While intramural sports contests do not enjoy the same widespread media exposure and attention as collegiate and professional athletics, they still produce special memories for the participants. It is the fun, stress release, joy of teamwork, thrill of competition, opportunity to escape the monotony of everyday life, and the emotional arousal which are generated by recreational sports programs that are the reasons why people participate. The “memorable moments” concept examines strategies on marketing implication and maintaining programmatic quality. The basic components of a “memorable moment” are intangible elements and include enjoyment or exhilaration, personal value, and something that is atypical. While intangibles result from the competition itself a variety of specific tangible techniques such as a public address announcer, spectator seating, campus media coverage, special promotions and activities, a national anthem, game programs, commercial sponsorship, and videotaping, can be employed to further emphasize and complement these aspects. The implementation of these tangibles and increasing the attractiveness of the participatory experience has tremendous positive marketing implications. The foremost advantage is the excitement and heightened awareness of programs that is engendered through expanded word-of-mouth. Tangibles also assist in improving visibility of programs and facilitates elevated recognition and exposure throughout the institution. The benefits of these effects often translated into more participants, greater receptiveness toward budget requests, improved networking opportunities both within and outside the institution, and enhanced respect from upper-level administrators. Although the “memorable moments: concept offers numerous exceptional strengths, its implementation also requires certain important commitments and programming adjustments. Timelines and advance planning are even more crucial when programs include additional enhancements. Furthermore, financial and personnel requirements are increased as well as the time and coordination necessary for special game logistical arrangements. Potential problems and issues must also be addressed. Rescheduling requests, inclement weather, spectator control for large crowds, and decisions related to determining which activities or games will receive special attention, what degree of auxiliary features will be utilized, and how to ensure the “memorable moments” remain something special are the most prominent topics to be considered. The reasons for participating in intramural sports are many and varied. However, fun, enjoyment, and the thrill of competition are usually at the heart of the decision to become involved in these activities. “Memorable moments” represents an excellent strategy to inspire and magnify thee feelings among participants while also displaying the program on center stage in an extraordinary marketing medium.

This thesis discusses methods to measure several atmospheric parameters related to turbulence. Techniques used by two different scintillometers based on weak turbulence theory are discussed along with a method to estimate the inner scale developed by Hill. The theory and minimization algorithm used to infer the atmospheric parameters are discussed. The main focus is on the analysis and collection of experimental data with a three-aperture receiver system. Intensity fluctuations from a CW laser source are collected over a 1km path with three different receiving apertures. The scintillation index is found for each receiving aperture and recently developed theory for all regimes of optical turbulence is used to infer three atmospheric parameters, Cn2, l0, and L0. The transverse wind speed is also calculated from the experimental data using a cross-correlation technique. Parallel to the three-aperture data collection is a commercial scintillometer unit which reports Cn2 and crosswind speed. There is also a weather station positioned at the receiver side which provides point measurements for temperature and wind speed. The Cn2 measurement obtained from the commercial scintillometer is used to infer l0, L0, and the scintillation index. Those values are then compared to the inferred atmospheric parameters from the experimental data. Hill's method is used as an estimate to l0 based upon path-averaged wind speed and is compared to the inferred l0 values. The optimal aperture sizes required for three-aperture data collection are presented. In closing, the technique for measuring crosswind speed is discussed along with the ideal aperture size and separation distance for data collection. Suggestions are offered for future experimentation.

Postsecondary financial aid (including scholarship awards) in the United States are as complicated and diverse in their function as they are in their long-term implications and outcomes. Through an examination of third party scholarships and the students who receive them, this study seeks to understand the dynamic intersection between a student's contextual environment, motivation and agency by analyzing students' interpretations of themselves and their place within the larger financial and scholarship context. The Self-Determination Theory (SDT) of human motivation and Deil-Amen & Tevis' (2010) circumscribed agency framework form the theoretical foundation of this study. The main contributions of this study include a description of how third party scholarships fit into the larger financial aid picture, an index of what eligibility components constitute third party scholarships, the creation of Third Party Scholarship Recipient Typology, and a synthesis of theory that informs future policy and practice.

With the growth of the Latino population in the United States on the rise and the limited number of bilingual Spanish social workers, it is critical to explore the Master of Social Work student’s self-perceived competency in Spanish skills and the support they receive. These are the emerging professionals that will be interacting and providing services for Latinos in our communities. Exploring and understanding the challenges students encounter, their self-perceived competency, and how students can be supported, will be beneficial not only to them but also to Latino clients seeking services in Spanish. Providing appropriate services in Spanish may alleviate the language barrier that many Latinos are concerned about when seeking services. This research utilized a mixed methods design with self-administered surveys and interviews conducted and analyzed with SPSS and transcriptions. The study findings suggest that bilingual Spanish-speaking Masters of Social Work students are not provided with adequate training, resources, and support from their MSW program or their field placements in order to provide high quality services to the Latino population. The study findings also suggest that not all bilingual individuals are comfortable with working with monolingual Spanish-speaking clients.

Three-channel monopulse tracking receiver systems are commonly used for high performance tracking of satellites, missiles, or aircraft to maximize the reception of data. Typically, the receiver in such systems are custom designed for their end purpose. This results in a high cost to cover the development, service, and support of a highly specialized piece of equipment. This paper covers the requirements and performance of a 3-channel monopulse tracking receiver assembled from commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment. Such a system provides an option for designing or upgrading tracking stations with the lower cost, larger support base, and greater system configuration choices that are available with COTS equipment.

Background: Stroke affects 15 million people worldwide each year. The rehabilitation should be equal everywhere but that is not the case. Most evidence comes from research in high income countries and those circumstances may not be applied everywhere in the world.  Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the views of important elements of rehabilitation after stroke in clinical working physiotherapist and in lecturers in physiotherapy education in Thailand. Design: This study had a qualitative exploratory research design due to collection of data through six individual semi-structured in-person interviews. The data analysis was preceded by a content analysis and had an inductive approach.  Result: The analysis terminated in eight categories and 30 subcategories that reflected what the interviewees considered important. Examples on these categories were physiotherapeutic modalities, education, cooperation and patients’ characteristics. It was of high importance the care was individualized and planned together with the patient. Education throughout the carrier were crucial to be able to give the patients the best care possible.   Conclusion: This study showed that physiotherapists in Thailand perceived many different important elements in stroke rehabilitation in Thailand. The outcome was not just depending on the treatment itself, but on several factors that surrounded the patient and the rehabilitation. These studies need to be done to be able to see the variations in treatment and the approach the health-care have on stroke rehabilitation in different countries.
Bakgrund: Stroke drabbar ungefär 15 miljoner människor världen över varje år. Alla ska ha samma chans till rehabilitering och lika vård vart man än bor i världen, detta är dock inte fallet. Mycket utav den evidens som finns idag är framtagen i höginkomstländer och situationen där kan inte appliceras globalt.  Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka åsikter hos thailändska kliniskt arbetande fysioterapeuter och lärare inom fysioterapeutisk utbildning angående viktiga element vid rehabilitering efter stroke.  Design: Studien bestod av sex individuella semistrukturerade intervjuer och hade en kvalitativ explorativ forskningsdesign. Insamlad data analyserades genom innehållsanalys med en induktiv inriktning.  Resultat: I databearbetningen framtogs åtta kategorier och 30 subkategorier som speglade de intervjuobjekten ansåg var viktigt. Exempel på kategorier var fysioterapeutiska modaliteter, utbildning, samarbete samt patientens tillgångar. Det var av yttersta vikt att behandlingen var individualiserad och planerad tillsammans med patienten. Utbildning genom det yrkessamma livet var viktigt för att ge den bästa möjliga vården för patienten.  Konklusion: Studien visade att fysioterapeuter i Thailand anser att det finns många viktiga element inom strokerehabilitering. Utfallet på rehabiliteringen berodde inte endast på själva behandlingen utan även på en mängd andra faktorer som fanns i patientens omgivning samt inom rehabiliteringen. Fler studier inom ämnet behövs för att se hur synen på rehabilitering och vården samt hur själva rehabiliteringen skiljer sig mellan olika länder.

Introduction: Prevalence studies show that fewer girls are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASCs) than boys. This difference is particularly marked where there is no cognitive impairment. Some suggest that ASCs present differently between males and females, perhaps leading to delayed diagnosis in girls. A review of the literature exploring sex/gender differences found that many studies have measured the severity of ASC symptoms rather than the quality of difference. Limited research has considered the perspectives of parents on the signs noticed in their daughters and the context in which difference is noticed. Objective: This study sought to explore how parents make sense of their daughters’ behaviours and the processes by which behaviours are perceived as requiring intervention or diagnosis. Participants: Five parents whose daughters (aged 9-12 years) had recently received a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition without cognitive impairment were invited to tell their stories of diagnosis. Design: Transcripts were analysed using a narrative approach, focusing on how stories were told. Findings: Narrative themes were identified across transcripts in relation to the process by which behaviours are made sense of. Themes included: daughters only showing their ‘real self’ in safety; their distress peaking; parents questioning normality; and parents feeling blamed and unheard. Conclusions: The findings are discussed in relation to existing research and theory. Implications are discussed in relation to education and health services and UK policies. Further research into parents’ experience of judgement in relation to their child’s behaviour, and exploration of interventions for masking in girls is needed.

Few studies have focused on gaining the views and experiences of primary aged children with the highest level of SEN – those with Statements of SEN (SSEN) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This exploratory study aimed to understand from the perspective of children with moderate or general learning difficulties what they think of school, the additional support they receive, and what they would change about it in the future. It also aimed to investigate the extent to which these children are involved in the decision-making process around their provision and whether their views are considered. Six children were interviewed using pictorial prompts and the data were transcribed and analysed thematically from a social constructivist standpoint. The study found that the pupils with SSEN or EHCPs held generally positive views of schools, preferred creative subjects, but experienced a range of difficulties at school. Friends and the support of a considerate adult were viewed as important elements of school. However, close TA support and appearing different from their learning-abled peers seems to promote physical isolation, a lack of agency and bullying. Pupils placed more value on support linked to developing their interaction skills rather than support that helped them to learn, or support related to changes in their environment. Overall, the most valued support was ‘Working with different adults’. The most important change for children was a desire to have more opportunities to interact with their peers within the learning environment. The children showed mixed experiences of being involved with decision-making at the school, but generally findings showed that children were mostly left out of decision-making. These developments have the potential to inform schools, EPs and other professionals' practice. Additionally, this study highlights the difficulties that schools face over inclusion and provides readers with thoughts on the actual level of inclusion for some pupils with a SSEN or EHCP.

This thesis was designed to study to what extent early intervention services support and empower the needs of single-parent families that have children with exceptionalities with the Babies Can't Wait System (BCWS). The five (5) families in this research study will be comprised of single females ages 23-37 and reside in the Upper Cumberland/Smyrna, Georgia area. All participants will have children ages birth to three years with an established disability or developmental delay and have received, or are currently receiving, early intervention services. An Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed with the collaboration of the family and professionals that stipulates individualized quality services for the child and family. This document is reviewed every six months but can be reviewed more often if the family or professional deems necessary. Families should be the major decision makers in the acquisitions and selection of appropriate services for their child. Upon careful analysis of the data, areas of improvement were found to be in the family's decision-making, utilization of family strengths, and lack of family-thewas This thesis was designed to study to what extent early intervention services support and empower the needs of single-parent families that have children with exceptionalism with the Babies Can't Wait System (BCWS). The five (5) families in this research study will be comprised of single females ages 23-37 and reside in the Upper Cumberland/Smyrna, Georgia area. All participants will have children ages birth to three years with an established disability or developmental delay and have received, or are currently receiving, early intervention services. This paper introduces separate-type heat pipe (STHP) based solar receiver systems that enable more efficient operation of concentrated solar power plants without relying on a heat transfer fluid. The solar receiver system may consist of a number of STHP modules that receive concentrated solar flux from a solar collector system, spread the high concentrated solar flux to a low heat flux level, and effectively transfer the received heat to the working fluid of a heat engine to enable a higher working temperature and higher plant efficiency. In general, the introduced STHP solar receiver has characteristics of high heat transfer capacity, high heat transfer coefficient in the evaporator to handle a high concentrated solar flux, non-condensable gas release mechanism, and lower costs. The STHP receiver in a solar plant may also integrate the hot/cold tank based thermal energy storage system without using a heat transfer fluid.

Solar collectors with surface receivers have low overall energy conversion efficiencies due to large emissive losses at high temperatures. Alternatively, volumetric receivers promise increased performance because solar radiation can be transferred into a fluid medium, which subsequently reduces the concentrated heat at the surface. Nanofluid-based direct solar receivers, where nanoparticles in a liquid medium can scatter and absorb solar radiation, have recently received interest to efficiently distribute and store the thermal energy. We present a combined modeling and experimental study to investigate the efficiency of fluid-based solar receivers seeded with carbon-coated absorbing nanoparticles. A simple one-dimensional transient heat transfer model was developed to compare idealized surface receivers to idealized volumetric receivers. In the limit of idealized behavior, volumetric receivers were shown to be more efficient than selective-surfaces for high concentration levels (C > 100) and/or tall receiver designs (H > 10 cm). Furthermore, volumetric receivers allowed the working range of the fluid to be extended to higher temperatures while maintaining relatively high receiver efficiency. We also designed and custom built a cylindrical receiver to experimentally demonstrate the concept of nanofluid-based receivers and validate the modeling efforts. We explored the effect of particle characteristics such as size, distribution, and material properties, as well as collector parameters such as absorbing depth and level of solar concentration. The work offers design guidelines for the development of efficient volumetric receivers for future solar thermal energy conversion systems.

A new parabolic trough receiver design is tested. In this design, the annulus of the receiver is bifurcated such that the half facing away from the parabolic mirror, and receives minimal concentrated sunlight, is filled with an insulating material, whereas the half receiving the majority of the concentrated sunlight is allowed to be filled with air. By insulating the outward facing half of the annulus, heat loss by radiation is minimized. In the mean time, heat loss by natural convection due to the presence of air in the lower half of the annulus is expected to be significantly subdued, since the hotter air will be closer to the heat collection element, which is at a generally higher position than the glass envelope. Experimental tests were performed on roof-mounted troughs which utilize receivers with air-filled annuli. The system consists of two identical but independent rows. The receivers in the first row have normally air-filled annuli, while the receivers in the second row have annuli that are half-filled with an insulating material and half-filled with air. The results have shown that the thermal performance of the modified receiver was indeed superior to conventional receivers with air-filled annuli.

Parabolic trough collectors are economically and technically attractive options for process heat applications that require temperatures in excess of 200 °C. One of the reasons is that low-cost non-evacuated receivers are used in this type of application. However, at higher temperatures, the performance of non-evacuated receivers deteriorates considerably due to excessive radiation and natural convection losses. A new idea had been preliminarily investigated by the authors both numerically and experimentally. The idea was to introduce a thermally insulating layer to the part of the receiver’s annular gap that does not receive concentrated sunlight from the parabolic mirrors, and the results had been quite promising. This paper presents additional, more extensive experiments on this concept. In these experiments, a cartridge heater is inserted along the axis of the receiver tube of a non-evacuated receiver. The heater is surrounded by a conductive material to ensure uniform heating of the receiver tube. A number of thermocouples are affixed near the inner surface of the receiver as well as on the outer surface of the glass envelope to monitor temperature uniformity. Two sets of experiments are then conducted, one with the insulating layer, and the other without. In each set, the power input is set to a certain level and the receiver temperature is measured once steady state conditions are attained. The power level is then increased, and the measurements are repeated. The heat loss values from each set are compared to determine whether adding the insulating layer enhances receiver performance. Results show that a reduction in heat loss of as much as 15% can be achieved using this design, and collector efficiency can increase by up to about 6%. However, it was also found that the extent of improvement in collector efficiency depends on the operating temperature and direct normal irradiance, with the improvement being more significant at higher temperature applications and at low direct normal irradiance.

Numerical simulation was made for high-temperature solar and thermal receivers of pressurized air for solar micro gas turbine system. The solar / biomass hybrid gas turbine was considered to generate 30kW to 100kW power. The gas turbine system was provided with the concentrated solar light from the dish reflector at the solar receiver and the combustion heat from the biomass synthesis gas at the thermal receiver. Numerical model was developed to the solar receiver and the thermal receiver to reveal their thermal potential. The solar receiver was a close loop concentric annuli to receive highly condensed solar light of 1,000kW/m2. The inner cylinder was made of high-temperature resistance ceramic irradiated by the condensed light on the inner side. The liner was inserted between the inner cylinder and the outer shell. The pressurized air passes the many holes of the liner to impinge the outer surface of the irradiation wall. These impinging jets caused high heat transfer coefficient on the irradiation wall and alleviates the thermal distribution in the receiver aisle. The liner and the outer shell were made by the high temperature resistance INCONEL alloy. The thermal receiver was also a close loop annuli. This uses the same part as the solar receiver and the biomass gas combustor combined to it. The combustor comprises of the liner and the center tube, installed to the inside of the ceramic cylinder. The biomass gas was provided to the gap between liner and the center tube, and the oxidant air to the outer side of the liner. The biomass gas was spouted from the many holes of the liner and mixed with the oxidant air. The resulted hot combustion gas impinged directly to the inner side of the ceramic cylinder. The impingement of the hot combustion gas thinned the thermal boundary layer and enhanced the heat transfer on the ceramic wall. The thermal receiver was designed to attain the preferable heat transfer performance by the inner impinging jet of the hot combustion gas as well as the outer impinging jet of the pressurized air. Three dimensional numerical model was developed to the solar receiver and the thermal receiver considered in the present study using ANSYS FLUENT. Parameter study showed that the exit air from the solar receiver was heated above 1200K or higher presently, and was continued to search better condition and better configuration of the system to obtain higher temperature. The numerical simulation revealed that the distance from the jet nozzle (linear holes) and the heat transfer surface is critical to the thermal distribution. The concept of the new solar and thermal receivers was confirmed on their usefulness; the multiple impinging jet effectively enhanced the heat transfer on the ceramic wall of the solar receiver and the thermal receiver to reduce the thermal inhomogeneity near the heat transfer surface with pressure loss of order 800Pa.

The development of efficient solar thermal receivers has received significant interest for thermal energy to electrical power conversion and heating applications. Volumetric receivers, where the incoming solar radiation is absorbed in a fluid volume, have advantages over state-of-the-art surface absorbers owing to the reduced heat losses at the surface. To efficiently distribute and store the thermal energy in the volume, nanoparticles can be suspended in the liquid medium to scatter and absorb the incoming radiation. In such systems, however, compact models are needed to design and optimize the performance. In this paper, we present an analytical model that can be used to perform parametric studies to investigate the effect of heat loss, particle distribution, and flow rate on receiver efficiency. The analytical model was formulated by modeling the suspended nanoparticles as embedded heat sources. The heat equation was solved with the surface heat losses modeled using convective losses based on Newton’s law of cooling. The analytical solution provides a convenient tool to predict two-dimensional temperature profiles for a variety of heat loss and inlet fluid temperature conditions. The efficiency of the receiver is defined as the ratio of the amount of thermal energy transported by the fluid to the total incident solar energy. For very large lengths the thermal energy carried by the fluid reaches a maximum steady value as the amount of heat loss equals the incident solar energy. The model can be used to estimate the approximate receiver lengths required to achieve near peak bulk fluid temperature. The results from this study will help guide experimental design, as well as practical flow receivers for solar thermal systems. Predictions made on a channel of 1mm depth with a solar concentration of 1 show that there exists a maximum system efficiency of 0.3373 for a dimensionless receiver length of 1.66.

High-temperature receiver designs for solar powered supercritical CO2 Brayton cycles that can produce ∼1 MW of electricity are being investigated. Advantages of a supercritical CO2 closed-loop Brayton cycle with recuperation include high efficiency (∼50%) and a small footprint relative to equivalent systems employing steam Rankine power cycles. Heating for the supercritical CO2 system occurs in a high-temperature solar receiver that can produce temperatures of at least 700 °C. Depending on whether the CO2 is heated directly or indirectly, the receiver may need to withstand pressures up to 20 MPa (200 bar). This paper reviews several high-temperature receiver designs that have been investigated as part of the SERIIUS program. Designs for direct heating of CO2 include volumetric receivers and tubular receivers, while designs for indirect heating include volumetric air receivers, molten-salt and liquid-metal tubular receivers, and falling particle receivers. Indirect receiver designs also allow storage of thermal energy for dispatchable electricity generation. Advantages and disadvantages of alternative designs are presented. Current results show that the most viable options include tubular receiver designs for direct and indirect heating of CO2 and falling particle receiver designs for indirect heating and storage.

The heat flux on the receiver tube is non-uniform because of uneven solar flux and receiver structure, which causes overheating and thermal stress failure of receiver and affected safe operations of the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) system. In order to reduce the temperature difference in receiver tube wall and improve the efficiency of CSP system, the ternary eutectic salt LiF-NaF-KF (46.5-11.5-42 wt.%, hereafter FLiNaK), which has a better high thermal stability than that of nitrate salts at operating temperature of 900 °C, is selected as HTF, and heat transfer performance of FLiNaK in a corrugated receive tube with non-uniform heat flux is simulated by CFD software in the present work. The numerical results reveal that the non-uniform heat flux has a great influence on the temperature distributions of the receive tube and FLiNaK salt. Compared with the result of bare tube, the corrugated tube can not only significantly reduce the temperature difference in tube wall and salt by improving the uniformity of temperature distribution but also enhance the heat transfer of the salt, where the heat transfer coefficient increases with the Reynolds number and heat flux. Moreover, the enhanced effect of the corrugated tube depends on both the pitch and the height of ridges. It is found that the heat transfer coefficient of the salt gets a maximum when the ratio of the height of ridge to the pitch is 0.2. The research presented here may provide guidelines for design optimization of receiver tube in CSP system.

Resumen
Sending SMS reminders increased the probability of on-time renewals of IDs by 12 percentage points, while also allowing citizens to renew their IDs online only increased renewals by 8 percentage points. Providing an online option (instead of in-person renewals) was less effective due to a poor user experience with the online procedure. The poorest individuals who received reminders were also more likely to receive transfers from an emergency in-kind transfer delivered through digital vouchers.

Key Points Seven in 10 U.S. women of reproductive age, some 44 million women, make at least one medical visit to obtain sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services each year. While the overall number of women receiving any SRH service remained relatively stable between 2006–2010 and 2015–2019, the number of women receiving preventive gynecologic care fell and the number receiving STI testing doubled. Disparities in use of SRH services persist, as Hispanic women are significantly less likely than non-Hispanic White women to receive SRH services, and uninsured women are significantly less likely to receive services than privately insured women. Publicly funded clinics remain critical sources of SRH care for many women, with younger women, lower income women, women of color, foreign-born women, women with Medicaid coverage and women who are uninsured especially likely to rely on publicly funded clinics. Among women who go to clinics for SRH care, two-thirds report that the clinic is their usual source for medical care. Among those relying on both private providers and public clinics, the proportion of women who reported receiving a combination of contraceptive and STI/HIV care increased between 2006–2010 and 2015–2019. Implementation of the Affordable Care Act has likely contributed to some of the changes observed in where women receive contraceptive and other SRH services and how they pay for that care: The share of women receiving contraceptive services who go to private providers rose from 69% to 77% between 2006–2010 and 2015–2019, in part because more women gained private or public health insurance coverage and there was a greater likelihood that their health insurance would cover SRH services. There was a complementary drop in the share of women receiving contraceptive services who went to a publicly funded clinic, from 27% in 2006–2010 to 18% in 2015–2019. For non-Hispanic Black women, immigrant women and uninsured women, there was no increase in the use of private providers for contraceptive care from 2006–2010 to 2015–2019. Among women served at publicly funded clinics between 2006–2010 and 2015–2019, there were significant increases in the use of both public and private insurance to pay for their care.

The hypothetical “Dimming effect” describes the change of the number of photons arriving from a receding light source per unit of time. In non-relativistic systems,the "Dimming effect" occurs due to the fact that as light sources move away, the distance between the emitter and the receiver constantly increases, and the photons always take longer to reach the receiver. This reduces the number of photons received per time unit compared to the number of emitted photons per time unit. Negligible for speeds incomparable with the speed of light c, the "Dimming effect" can be very significant for speeds above 0.1c. “Dimming effect” can possibly be tested in a physics labor-atory using a moving light source (or mirror) and photon counters located in the travel direction and in opposite direction. It can possibly also be tested utilizing the orbital movement of the Earth around the Sun. If confirmed, “Dimming effect” would allow astronomers to adjust values of the "Standard Candles", which are critical in cosmological models. Absence of “Dimming effect” will mean that the number of photons arriving per time unit does not depend on the relative speed of light source and observer,which is not so apparent
