Phenyl [(R)-16O,17O,18O]sulphate was synthesized and used to study the stereochemical course of sulphuryl transfer to p-cresol catalysed by arylsulphatase II from Aspergillus oryzae. The reaction was shown to proceed with retention of configuration at the sulphur atom, providing evidence for the involvement of a sulpho-enzyme intermediate on the reaction pathway.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2012-13 and 2013-14 to study the influence of different sources and levels of sulphur on plant nutrient status of cabbage and various soil characteristics. The experiment was laid in a randomized block design with three replications. Three sources of sulphur i.e., gypsum, elemental sulphur and potassium sulphate with three levels i.e., 40, 70 and 100 kg S ha-1 for each source were given in the experiment. Potassium sulphate as a source of sulphur recorded highest nitrogen (3.3%), phosphorus (0.017%), potassium (2.15%) and sulphur (0.41%) in cabbage.

Abstract The failed superheater tube was investigated at the point of failure and at a distance of 25 cm. At both of the cross sections two layers of sediment were detected. The external one contained Na2SO4 and Na3VO3 in concentration relation 6.4:1 approximately. The “internal” layer that situated on the tube surface consisted of V2O3 mainly (about 70%) and sodium pyrosulphates Na2SO3•×SO3. The tube surface was covered with usual “passive” oxides such as Cr2O3, Fe2CrO4, and magnetite. In the failed section the last layer contained iron and chromium sulfides. Abstract The Gathering Centers (GCs) process crude oil from the oil wells to separate out gas and produced water. Some of the GCs handle very sour crude that is flowed from certain sour oilfields.
