Neste artigo, tratamos das diversas traduções para o português da poesia de François Villon, que é considerado o primeiro poeta moderno francês. Realizadas por importantes poetas da língua, essas traduções procuram reproduzir as formas poéticas utilizadas por Villon. A tradução por Guilherme de Almeida da célebre Balata das damas dos tempos idos (1936) será estudada como exemplo paradigmático da concepção de tradução pelos próprios tradutores do poeta francês em língua portuguesa.

L’historiographie de la deuxième moitié du XXème siècle mentionne rarement l’œuvre du sculpteur Duchamp-Villon (1876-1918), et analyse souvent l’histoire de la sculpture en subordination avec celle de la peinture. Mais la sculpture participe à la révolution de l’art tout comme la peinture, grâce à certains artistes comme Picasso, Boccioni, Brancusi, Archipenko, Gaudier-Brzeska, Lipchitz, Nadelman et Duchamp-Villon. Concernant ce dernier, certains points de sa recherche esthétique semblent fondamentaux : la simplification des formes, l’attention à la géométrie, le refus du cubisme à facettes typique du cubisme le plus reconnu ; le rôle de la pensée dans le processus créatif ; l’intérêt pour le primitivisme conçu en tant qu’emblème d’essentialité et de synthèse de la forme ; le concept d’espace-temps et le désir de contribuer à la combinaison de sculpture et architecture. Il s’agit de points essentiels pour comprendre son adhésion personnelle au cubisme : s’il est difficile de considérer son œuvre en tant que production cubiste orthodoxe, les caractéristiques susmentionnées inscrivent le nom de Duchamp-Villon dans la grande révolution esthétique du début du XXe siècle, qui est tout d’abord une révolution de pensée. Sur la base d’une telle prémisse, cette recherche vise à analyser l’œuvre de Duchamp-Villon à la lumière des nouveautés culturelles et esthétiques du début du XXème siècle, tant par rapport à la sculpture que par rapport à la peinture, dans le but de comprendre si son esthétique représente une traduction des expérimentations picturales du cubisme ou si, au contraire, elle constitue une version personnelle du cubisme en trois dimensions
In the historiography of the second half of the last century the work of Duchamp-Villon is rarely mentioned, just as the history of sculpture is often used as a term of comparison with respect to the better-known area of painting. The sculpture was, however, part of the great revolution in art history just as much as painting, due to the work of some artists including Picasso, Boccioni, Brancusi, Archipenko, Gaudier-Brzeska, Lipchitz, Nadelman and Duchamp-Villon. Regarding the latter, some principles of its aesthetic research seem to be fundamental: the simplification of forms, the attention to geometry, the refusal of the typical cubism with facets of the Cubism more recognized; the role of thought in the creative process; the interest for the Primitivism conceived as an emblem of essentiality and synthesis of the form; the concept of space-time and the desire to contribute to the combination of sculpture and architecture. These are to be considered as essential points to understand its personal adhesion with the Cubism: if it is difficult to consider its work as an orthodox cubist production, the above-mentioned characteristics register the name of Duchamp-Villon in the great aesthetic revolution of the beginning of the 20th century, which is first of all a revolution of thought. Based on this premise, this study aims to analyze the work of Duchamp-Villon in light of the cultural and artistic novelties of the early twentieth century in relation to sculpture and painting, so as to understand whether his aesthetics represent a translation of pictorial experimentations of Cubism or whether, on the contrary, it constitutes a personal version of Cubism in three dimensions

On the one hand, our study is a psychological analysis of villon at the same time as that of the common man of 15th century france, because, even though we cannot term villon as a "medevial prototype", we can certainly say that he ressembles a large majority of the youth of his period. Our analysis is based on the analytical method of carl gustav jung. We have also examined the status of religion at the end of the 15th century, its importance and its influence on villon' works

This thesis argues that François Villon becomes a significant, but overlooked, influence in the tradition of English poetry, and that this influence reveals itself in translations, adaptations, and responses to his work. By focusing on the way in which numerous high profile poets in the United Kingdom and the United States have reacted to Villon, this study will posit that the reasons behind the appeal of his oeuvre as a source text lie both in the protean nature of his narrative voice and in the myth of his life. The inter-lingual intertextual relationships established through translation and the residue of Villon in English poetic tradition will be presented by means of five case studies, all taking the work of a specific poet as their theme: Algernon Charles Swinburne; Dante Gabriel Rossetti; Ezra Pound; Basil Bunting; and Robert Lowell. These five poets are presented as being exemplary of a greater tradition of translating Villon into English, and will take the reader from the first verse translations of his work in the nineteenth century, to postmodern adaptations and parodies of Villon in the twentieth. They will illustrate the specified intertextual relationships that exist both between source text and target text, and the work of one translator and another, thereby demonstrating the accumulation of influences at play in any one translation of this medieval French poet. In so doing, this thesis will also explore translation and adaptation as dialogical and transformative spaces, distinct from other genres in their ability to establish cross-cultural and interlingual intertexts. Translation and adaptation as spaces of cultural and linguistic hybridity will be demonstrated by observing some of the ways in which Villon has left his mark on English verse, and some of the Villons that anglophone poets have created in their turn.

Esta pesquisa busca articular problemas de invenção e de recepção dos testamentos e das outras formas poéticas atribuídas ao Mestre François Villon. Na primeira parte, tratamos do gênero dos dois testamentos enunciados pela personagem do Vilão (Villon), com base nos preceitos e modelos poéticos que orientavam a invenção das letras na França do séc. XV. Paródias do testamento amoroso da época, o Pequeno e o Grande Testamento de Mestre François Villon são unificados pelo exemplo do arrependimento do Vilão antes da morte. Na segunda parte, estudamos a constituição do corpo poético transmitido sob a sua autoridade desde as primeiras edições nos sécs. XV e XVI, passando pelas edições modernas nos sécs. XIX e XX até as traduções em português no final do séc. XX. Ao mesmo tempo, analisamos a sua recepção em cada um desses três momentos, segundo as concepções de autor como autoridade, como homem e como personagem, respectivamente. Assim, pretendemos investigar os sentidos do nome de François Villon, utilizado para unificar aquele corpo poético.
This work articulate problems of invention and reception of the testaments and other poetic forms attributed to Master François Villon. In the first part, we examine the gender of the two testaments enounced by the Villain (Villon), using the poetic precepts and models based on which the writing was invented in the 15c in France. Parodies of the lovers testament from that time, the Small and the Greater Testament of Master François Villon are unified by the exemple of the Villains repentance before dying. In the second part, we study the establishment of the poetic corpus transmitted under his authority since his first editions in the 15th and 16th century, passing throught his modern editions in the 19c and 20c, until his portuguese translations at the end of the 20c. Simultaneaously, we focus its reception in each one of those three moments, based of the conceptions of author as a authority, as a individual and as a character, respectively. We aim to investigate the senses of the name of François Villon, which has been used to unify that corpus.

Le fonds étudié s'est constitué de 1947 à 1963. Il conserve 943 lettres de Villon aux Espic et des documents joints : biographiques, historiographiques, théoriques. Les lettres et documents sont reproduits dans le 2e tome. Ces sources contribuent à mieux connaître la production de l'artiste dans son ensemble. La 1ère partie porte sur la correspondance, fil directeur du fonds. Analyse, description et propositions méthodologiques sont énoncées, elles conduisent à une réflexion sur les rapports entre l'épistolaire et les " écrits d'artistes ". En suite vient une étude monographique. Les grands passages stylistiques de l'œuvre graphique et peinte sont étudiés. Le rôle de Villon au sein du cubisme, de la " Section d'or " est reconsidéré. Le passage vers l'abstraction et le retour à la figuration vers 1935 sont évalués. Après 1945, l'abstraction représentative de Villon incarne les valeurs rassurantes d'une peinture française de tradition, elle est soutenue par le marché de l'art et les institutions de la IVe République
The resources studied date from 1947 to 1963. They consist of 943 letters from Villon to Espic and other attached biographical, historical and theoretical documents which were attached to the letters. The letters and documents are classified and annotated in the second volume of the thesis. These resources allow a better understanding of the life and works of the artist. The first part of the thesis deals with the correspondence which is the unifying thread of the resources. A method of analysis and description is set up which is used to examine the relationship between letter writers and the "writing of artists". On the basis of these sources a monographical study is put forward. It focuses on the major stylistic transitions in Villon's graphics and paintings. The role of Villon at the heart of Cubism and the "Section d'or" exhibition are clarified. The move towards abstraction and the return to figurative art about 1935 is assessed. After 1945, Villon's semi-abstraction was a compromise between the reassuring values of "peinture française de tradition" and modernity which was supported by the art market and the institutions of the Fourth Republic

Ce travail de recherche est consacré au dossier inédit constitue par Blaise Cendrars en 1939 en vue de la publication d'un livre intitulé Sous le signe de François Villon. Le dossier contient un plan autographe (François Villon) et quatre textes dont deux étaient déjà parus (Une nuit dans la forêt, 1929 et Vol à voile 1932) et deux encore inédits à l'époque (Sous le signe de François Villon et Le sans nom). Ces derniers ne parurent dans une version épurée qu'en 1952, respectivement dans La table ronde et La revue de Paris. Le livre ainsi construit ne connut en fait aucune publication; il reste donc pseudo-inédit. Cette étude débute par l'analyse génétique du plan autographe qui bien que sans suite, se révèle être le réservoir poétique des mémoires. Ensuite, ayant évalue l'importance pratique et théorique du poète François Villon dans la production cendrarsienne, cette recherche se focalise sur le développement du texte "sous le signe de François Villon", transition radicale dans la poétique de l'écrivain qui marque irrévocablement l'avènement du "je" de l'auteur dans son écriture selon un processus dialectique (annihilation, substitution, filiation entre Cendrars et Villon) s'exprimant dans les termes philosophiques de la "pratique". Enfin la notion de "prochronie" néologisme cendrarsien et principe fondateur de Sous le signe de François Villon, devient l'objet principal de la recherche. Dans cette perspective on développe l'analyse des trois prochronies de ce livre à l'apparence hétérogène, mais qui possède en réalité une unité poétique certaine. En conclusion, on enquête sur les motifs de la publication manquée du livre (1940 et 1952) et l'on propose des réponses. Ainsi ce travail montre toute l'importance de ce dossier et relance l'intérêt de la publication d'un livre encore inédit à ce jour
This research is dedicated to an hitherto unpublished manuscript put together by Blaise cedars in 1939 in the hope of publishing a book entitled sous Le signe de François Villon. The manuscript contains an handwritten lay-out François Villon and four texts two of which were already published (Une nuit dans la forêt 1929 and Vol à voile 1932) and two other texts as yet unpublished at that time (Sous le signe de François Villon and Le sans nom) but which came out in an abreged version finally in 1952, respectively in La table ronde and in The revue de Paris. In reality such a text was never published so that it could be considered a pseudo-unpublished book. This study starts with the genetical analysis of the handwritten lay-out, which although never brought to print, proves to be the poetic repository of the memoires. Consequently, having evaluated the pratical and theoretical importance of the poet François Villon in the cendrarsian production, this research focuses on the development of the text "Sous le signe de François Villon" this text represents a radical transition in the writer's poetics because it marks irrevocably the advent of the author's self in his writing according to a dialectic process (annihilation, substitution and filiation between Cendrars and Villon) which expresses itself in the philosophical terms of "practice". And lastly, the notion of "prochronie", founder principle of sous Le signe de François Villon becomes the principal object of the research and from that perspective we develop the analysis of the three "prochonies" of this book, apparently heterogeneous, but which possesses a certain poetic unity. In conclusion, we investigate the failed publication of sous Le signe de François Villon (1940-1952) and we propose some answers. Therefore, this work reveals the importance of this manuscript and revives the interest in the publication of such a secret book

Cette étude se focalise sur l’examen conjoint des représentations du corps dans les œuvres de Pablo Picasso et de Raymond Duchamp-Villon. Afin d’apporter un éclairage nouveau sur la représentation du corps cubiste, notre objectif est d’examiner la portée de la connaissance de l’anatomie artistique, branche scientifique se rapportant non seulement à l’anatomie (au sens plus spécifique de l’ostéologie et de la myologie) mais aussi à l’étude de la proportion humaine, à la physiologie, la physionomie, l’ethnologie, l’anthropologie et la morphologie. En élaborant une nouvelle interprétation des images cubistes qui la relierait à la fois à la science anatomique et au classicisme dans le cadre de l’histoire de l’art, notre recherche ouvre une étude morphologique du cubisme à de multiples disciplines, comme l’esthétique et l’épistémologie. Si la recherche picturale de Picasso porte sur la structure du corps humain, Duchamp-Villon cherche pour sa part à représenter le dynamisme et la vitalité du corps. En d’autres termes, en partant des mêmes savoirs scientifiques ces deux artistes proposent deux modalités différentes de l’architectonique de la représentation du corps : se dispensant de théoriser cette architectonique, Picasso et Duchamp-Villon découvrent une expression du corps qui leur est propre. Par ce biais, nous cherchons à mettre en lumière les modalités par lesquelles le schéma cubiste se forme dans l’oscillation entre art et sciences, intuition et intelligence, subjectivité et objectivité, métamorphose organique des images et modélisation mécanique du corps
This study focuses on the analyses of the representations of the human body in the works of Pablo Picasso and Raymond Duchamp-Villon during their cubist periods. In order to shed some new light on the representation of the body in the cubist works of these two artists, the importance and the modality of the artistic anatomy is examined. This includes branches of science related not only to the anatomy (specifically osteology and myology), but also to the study of human proportion to the physiology, physiognomy, ethnology, anthropology, and morphology. Developing a new interpretation of Cubist images that is linked both with anatomical science and classicism in art historical context, this research corresponds to a morphological study of Cubism in multiple disciplines, such as aesthetics and epistemology. In particular, this study's aim is to consider two different forms of architectonic representation of the cubist body, starting from the same scientific knowledge. If research of Picasso is concerned mostly with the structure of the human body, Duchamp-Villon's seeks the dynamism and vitality of the body: far from axiomatizing scientific knowledge, the two artists rectify it in their own way to discover their unique expressions. Through this, the method by which the cubist pattern is formed in the oscillation between art and science is clarified, between: intuition and intelligence; subjectivity and the objectivity; and organic metamorphosis of images and the schematization of the mechanical body

Abstract: In the year between April 1910 and March 1911 Le Corbusier – then Charles-Edouard Jeanneret – composed maybe the most comprehensive piece of writing of his career: a manuscript entitled “La construction des villes” which took on to systematically investigate the architectural elements that the city is made from. Taking Camillo Sitte’s Der Städte-Bau nach seinen künstlerischen Grundsätzen of 1889 as his intellectual starting point, Jeanneret developed a complex and convincing thesis within several months, however never published it himself. One of the topics that appear throughout Jeanneret’s manuscript is the quality of space as enclosure. This paper takes this observation as a starting point to ask how the manuscript that was put aside after March 1911 (and only shortly picked up again by Jeanneret in 1915) may have influenced Le Corbusier’s architectural thinking. In order to achieve this, the chapter “The Illusion of the Plan” from Vers une architecture is investigated as a link between La construction des villes and Le Corbusier’s houses. Finally, the Maison La Roche-Jeanneret and the Villa Savoye are read as buildings that very strongly incorporate aspects of thinking urban space in a way that way that closely relates to his studies back in 1910. Resumen
La villa de Allariz es una pequeña joya patrimonial del pueblo gallego. Al contrario de lo que pasó con otras villas gallegas, su casco histórico, bañado por las aguas del río Arnoia, permaneció inalterado a lo largo del tiempo. En él se pueden apreciar huellas de su pasado medieval como residencia real, su esplendor señorial o su reconversión en ciudad protoindustrial, con múltiples curtidurías en los márgenes del río. A pesar de su declaración como Conjunto Histórico-Artístico en 1971, la villa y su entorno se encontraban a finales de los años ochenta del siglo pasado en un estado de total abandono. En la década siguiente, después de una enorme presión vecinal, el gobierno municipal aprobó el Plan Especial del Casco Histórico. La creación de una oficina de rehabilitación y una escuela-taller, permitió la recuperación de equipamientos y espacios públicos, lo que le valió el Premio Europeo de Urbanismo en 1994. El objetivo de mi ponencia será analizar los distintos planes llevados a cabo en las últimas décadas que permitieron recuperar su aspecto histórico y su perímetro natural, de forma que en la actualidad la ciudad emplea su patrimonio como motor económico.
