Information management includes a lot of disciplines, but all of them can be joint into three main parts: information resources management, communication management and information processing management. Although there is no commonly agreed upon definition of knowledge management, organizations are demonstrating an increasing interest in the topic and start having problems to develop knowledge management as a process. It causes the input that the knowledge environment in which companies must function today is much more complex. Organizations face enormous demands because of the explosive growth in knowledge, its short lifespan and the increasingly knowledge – intensive nature of all management processes. To survive and compete in the knowledge society, organizations must learn to manage their intellectual assets, accept the challenge of knowledge management and recognize the fundamental importance of knowledge as a resource. Texto completoThe object – information management, knowledge management, the Lithuanian governmental organizations. The main goal of this scientific Master Diploma work – to explore the information and knowledge management in the Lithuanian governmental organizations. Objectives – to uncover the definitions of information and knowledge management; to explore the components of the information and knowledge management; to examine the use of the information and knowledge management in the Lithuanian governmental organizations. Using the analysis or scientific literature and the generalization methods the information and knowledge management were examined in the Lithuanian governmental organizations. It was discovered, that the information and knowledge management are already being used in the governmental organizations, though they are not being properly managed. There are separate departments, responsible for the work of the information and knowledge management’s processes or at least part of them. Despite everything, the true value of the information and knowledge management is not yet recognized by the Lithuanian governmental organizations, though even now there is a steady foundation for the development and prosperity of the information and knowledge management. Texto completoThe object of Master-thesis – the competences of human resources management in respect with knowledge management. The purpose of Master-thesis – to determine the influence of competences of human resources management on the changes occurring inside the environment of knowledge management. Upon the conduction of a theoretical study and empirical research on human resources management functions and competences related thereto, the article presents an analysis of expectations of Lithuanian organizations staff regarding competence of human resources managers, and evaluation of the attitude of the staff towards factual competences of their human resources managers. Results of the empirical research point to the difference between expectations of the staff regarding competences of their human resources manager and the attitude towards the actual competence possessed by a human resources manager of their organization. Human resources managers of the organizations surveyed much less attention than expected pay to get to know and motivate their personnel (the level of expectations circa 80 percent, whereas the factual evaluation – merely 16 percent), to settle conflicts (50 percent and 10 percent respectively). Creativity and an ability to implement innovations are attributable only to 14 percent of human resources managers, which constitutes much less than has been expected (64 percent). This theses emphasis the impact of knowledge management to organization’s strategic management. The Aim of the theses is to analyze and investigate how knowledge management influence corporate strategy. The first part will examine the factors affecting the strategic use of knowledge management, organization, knowledge management, identifying the concept of a procedural model. The second - a strategy analysis of organizations value and features. The third part will aim to reveal the impact of knowledge management through knowledge management and strategic management interface for comparative analysis. The fourth part will describe the study. An empirical study was selected using a qualitative research methodology through a questionnaire survey method to investigate the impact of knowledge management organizations to achieve strategic objectives. Intellectual capital is not just data or information in files and databases. It embraces all useful knowledge in all forms in the organization. Intellectual capital is vital in knowledge-based organizations and is becoming increasingly important in every other type of organization. Therefore, it is critically important that intellectual assets are well understood and properly managed if organizations want to compete successfully in today's world economy. Effective management of intellectual capital begins with understanding. For this reason, this paper has provided a definition of intellectual capital to help managers understand the breadth of management requirements. Several models for classifying the components of intellectual capital were then presented so management might understand the depth of management requirements. Finally, several measurement schemes were presented showing how intellectual capital can be viewed at both the component-by-component and organization levels.
