Online mining changes over data streams has been recognized to be an important task in data mining. Mining changes over data streams is both compelling and challenging. In this paper, we propose a new, single-pass algorithm, called MFC-append (Mining Frequency Changes of append-only data streams), for discovering the frequent frequency-changed items, vibrated frequency changed items, and stable frequency changed items over continuous append-only data streams. A new summary data structure, called Change-Sketch, is developed to compute the frequency changes between two continuous data streams as

A nonparametric unsupervised method for analyzing changes in complex datasets is proposed. It is based on the mean shift clustering algorithm. Mean shift is used to cluster the old and new datasets and compare the results in a nonparametric manner. Each point from the new dataset naturally belongs to a cluster of points from its dataset. The method is also able to find to which cluster the point belongs in the old dataset and use this information to report qualitative differences between that dataset and the new one. Changes in local cluster distribution are also reported. The report can then

Résumé :
Aim of the studyThe COVID-19 pandemic has brought radical changes to the vocational landscape, especially in its first wave. Many workers successfully established a new workspace in their home, but this transition to remote work has reduced opportunities for informal social interactions while requiring the learning of new skills and creating new work–home interference. The aim of this study was to identify how changes in working conditions caused by the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic are related to the mental health of older workers from 27 countries.Subject or material and methodsOur stu

Résumé :
Abstract Data may be regarded as the new form of currency. It is now the lifeblood of twenty-first century government. Data is a critical asset for government agencies. It can have an enormous impact on government at local, state, national, and global levels. It allows governments to make faster decisions, monitor those decisions and make changes if necessary. Big data is a term that is widely used to describe the exponential growth of data. Big data technology is vitally important for governments all over the world. It can transform government and society. This paper is

Résumé :
The ATLAS experiment is preparing a major change in the conditions data infrastructure in view of LHC Run 4. In this paper we describe the ongoing changes in the database architecture which have been implemented for Run 3, and describe the motivations and the on-going developments for the deployment of a new system (called CREST for Conditions Representational State Transfer, as a reference to REST architectures). The main goal is to set up a parallel infrastructure for full scale testing before the end of Run 3.

Résumé :
A comparison is made between compilations of times of origination and extinction of fossil marine animal families published in 1982 and 1992. As a result of ten years of library research, half of the information in the compendia has changed: families have been added and deleted, low-resolution stratigraphic data have been improved, and intervals of origination and extinction have been altered. Despite these changes, apparent macroevolutionary patterns for the entire marine fauna have remained constant. Diversity curves compiled from the two data bases are very similar, with a goodness-of-fit o

The General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter – the Regulation), which entered into force on 25 May 2018 and introduced a new legal framework for the protection of personal data in the European Union, also included a number of new rights, more precise definitions and improvements in the field of personal data protection. The three‐year period has shown that the Regulation has successfully replaced Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement ofsuch data, but the Co

The purpose of this study was to use wearable technology data to quantify alterations in subject-specific running patterns throughout a marathon race and to determine if runners could be clustered into subgroups based on similar trends in running gait alterations throughout the marathon. Using a wearable sensor, data were collected for cadence, braking, bounce, pelvic rotation, pelvic drop, and ground contact time for 27 runners. A composite index was calculated based on the “typical” data (4–14 km) for each runner and evaluated for 14 individual 2-km sections thereafter to detect “atypical” d

The article presents the results of an integrated study of geological data based on three shallow cores from the Varna Lake area. The sedimentary sequences and the related archaeological artifacts were examined through lithological descriptions, a biostratigraphical analysis of the molluscan fauna, and an analysis of the geomorphological, archaeological and radiocarbon data. Continental, liman and marine facies conditions of sedimentation have been established by examining the sedimentary textures, stratigraphic and palaoecological value of the molluscan subfossil fauna.
