The purpose of this study was to describe the strengths and needs of Deaf adults as parents of school-age and adolescent children. A cross-sectional, descriptive design was employed to gather data from a convenience sample of Deaf parents and hearing children from 15 families. Prior research has documented many relations between child religiousness/spirituality (R/S) and outcomes including externalizing symptomatology, internalizing symptomatology, substance use, and sexual behaviors. Yet no previous studies have examined child R/S and parent R/S using a person centered approach. Empirical investigations concerning generational differences between parents and adolescents were prevalent in the 1960s and 1970s. Interest in generational differences has resurfaced with the advent and evolution of technology. This study examined perceived generational differences between late adolescent and parent knowledge about interactive technologies. A sample of late adolescents (N = 605) reported their own interactive technology knowledge and perceptions of their parents’ technology knowledge via online questionnaires.
