Prenatal sonographt is an useful modality in evaluation of fetal gastrointestinal abnormalities. The sonographic appearance of a healthy fetus's gastrointestinal tract is variable and there are considerable similarities between the normal and abnormal gastrointestinal findings. Therefore one should be a ware of diagnostic pitfalls which may arise from confusion with normal anatomy. In this review the normal anatomy, anatomic variations, pathologies and potential diagnostic pitfalls of the normal and abnormal fetal gastrointestinal system are examined.

Introduction: Telemedicine tools offer multiple advantages to achieve an epidemiological screening of communities in rural settings countrywide. However, evidence on the cardiological pathology surveillance in these communities is limited. The feasibility of telemedicine as an electrocardiographic (EKG) mapping tool for the diagnosis and prevention of cardiological pathologies in Paraguay was investigated. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted in 60 telediagnostic centers countrywide in Paraguay to evaluate the feasibility of telemedicine as an EKG mapping tool for the diagnosis and preve

The use of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) as a biomarker for assessment of male gonadal activity has become increasingly widespread. Aberrant AMH concentration successfully detects cryptorchids or pathologic testes in postpubertal stallions, but the ability to use AMH to identify stallions with testicular pathologies during their prepubertal life has not been analysed so far. The objectives of this work were to (1) assess AMH, testosterone, LH, and FSH dynamics in male horses with or without testicular pathologies during the first year of life; and (2) find a reliable diagnostic approach that wo

Cervical pathologies are frequently occuring diseases and may affect women’s quality of life in many ways. These pathologies are curable with early detection and with a following suitable treatment plans. Colposcopy is a standard examination among screening methods which are used to early detect the abnormal lesions on cervix’s surface. Recently, studies about processing polarized image show ability to support diagnosis of the cervix. In this research, we use cervix’s polarized images and image processing algorithms to segment the blood distribution of Nabothian cyst and Trichomonas vaginalis
