Riverine beaches in the Amazon are valuable ecosystems for local populations, providing areas for recreation and classic beach activities. However, these ecosystems are subject to multiple pressures. The study presents the results of the willingness to pay (WTP) of 518 respondents at two beaches (Hawaii and Bora Bora) in the Peruvian Amazon (Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios). Over 58% of respondents indicated that they would use DAP to maintain beach ecosystem services (BES) beyond recreational use.
