The Basmachi movement was the struggle of Turkestan indigenous population against the Soviet power, and it remains one of the least studied aspects of the Civil War. Soviet historians explained the reasons behind the movement and its mass character as follows: the local tribal aristocracy, young bourgeoisie, and imams strove to maintain their status, wealth, and privileges. When the former Soviet Central Asian republics became independent, the Basmachi movement and its causes were reconsidered by local historians and, to some extent, by Russian scientists. Results are obtained by using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model and panel data methodology with a sample of 22 countries for the period of 2003-2019. To estimate the impact of different variables on basmati exports Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model is used on the panel dataset. The results revealed that the inflation rate of Pakistan has a negative and significant effect on the export competitiveness of Pakistani basmati. The exchange rate of Pakistan has a p

Basmati rice is praised for aroma and super fine quality. Traditional Basmati rice varieties are tall, lodging, photosensitive and with low yield potential. The improved Basmati varieties viz., Pusa Basmati 1 and Kasturi are not suitable for cultivation in Tamil Nadu because of their poor adaptation and yield. The research oriented on this line has resulted in the identification of a dwarf Basmati (AD 90190) with high yield potential retaining Basmati qualities and this selection was identified from the irradiated dwarf mutant of Basmati 370.
