As climate change is projected to increase in vulnerable areas of the world, we examined farmers’ perceptions of this change and their attitudes to adaptation in two communities (Zango and Kofa) in northwestern Nigeria. A total of 220 arable farming households completed a livelihoods survey preplanting. The perceptions survey was followed by a survey of 154 households post-harvest for the attitudes questions based on the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). While the current global context of successive economic and health crises are punishing the economies of different countries in the world, it is particularly relevant to explore the business intentions of young university students, as potential entrepreneurs of opportunity. This matter is of the utmost importance, as it helps to facilitate the implementation of measures that can ensure the future recovery of the economy and the creation of new businesses. The objective of this paper is to study the institutional and psychological antecedents of entrepreneurial intention and the role of gender.

As the findings indicated, there was direct positive effect of all four dimensions. A relatively low effect was recorded with regard to park image, which is likely to have contributed to low satisfaction experience, future behavioural intentions and park ecological value. In addition, among the repeat visitors' responses, the majority agreed there was increased wildlife disappearance, increased difficulty in sightseeing key wildlife attractions at LNNP, invasive new species within the park, changes in wildlife grazing grounds, infrastructure damage and increased visibility of litter inside the park.

Drawing on prior models of technology acceptance and continuance, the present study investigated the effect of digital literacy on behavioural intention to continue using the digital workplace and, ultimately, on individual performance. Linear regression was used to analyse the conceptual model using survey data from 142 employees of a major UK charitable organisation. Results partially supported the model, demonstrating that employees' digital skills effect continuance intentions and individual performance via their perceptions of ease of use. The findings suggest an important role for digital literacy, both as an antecedent to the more general determinants of technology adoption, and in organisational interventions designed to encourage digital workplace adoption.

Cloud computing services are a prominent innovation that has changed consumer behaviours towards adopting new technological services. Despite the popularity of this technological innovation the underlying factors that contribute to a consumer's intention to adopt cloud computing services has not been well researched. This paper builds upon the well-known behavioural intention theories of the technology acceptance model and social cognitive theory to develop and test a number of hypotheses designed to understand the factors influencing intention to use cloud computing services. The research hypotheses in the paper propose that perceived usefulness, consumer innovation attitude, social norms, performance expectancy and trust influence behavioural intentions of consumers towards cloud computing services. The hypotheses are tested in a sample of United States and Chinese consumers to understand whether there are differences in behavioural attitudes towards technological innovations. The paper identifies research limitations, practical implications and future research suggestions.

This article aims to examine the main factors that may hinder or facilitate the adoption of cloud computing (CC) services by higher educational institutions in developing countries, exemplified here by Oman. A conceptual model was developed through extending the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework. Data was collected from 387 IT decision makers working in four higher educational institutions in Oman using a cross-sectional survey. Data was analysed using structural equation modelling based on AMOS 22.0. The results show that behavioural intention (BI) towards adopting CC services in higher educational institutions was influenced by top management support, relative advantage, attitudes towards change, technology readiness, complexity, government regulation, peer pressure, and data concerns in their order of influencing power. These all together accounted for 58.3% of the variance in BI. However, compatibility, vendor lock-in and external expertise did not have an influence on BI. This research provides original insight for cloud computing adoption within Oman from a managerial and IT professional perspectives. Specifically, this research would be helpful for government agencies, cloud computing providers and policy makers at higher educational institutions. It will also explain the relatively low penetration rate of cloud computing services at present, which will help in formulating strategies to encourage the adoption and acceptance of CC services by Omani higher educational institutions, where CC is still considered an innovation.

Chapter 6 continues the discussion of putative requirements generated by future-directed intentions, turning to what I call “intention-persistence requirements”. These requirements seem particularly important in understanding choice among incommensurable or incomparable alternatives. In such choice situations, it seems irrational to engage in “brute shuffling”; that is, intending first to choose one option, then (possibly) incurring certain costs associated with bringing about this option, and then, in the absence of any new information or any reason to change one’s mind, switching to choose another, incomparable, option. However, unless we accept intention-persistence requirements, it might seem that we cannot explain why such behaviour is irrational. The chapter argues against the validity of such persistence requirements and proposes a different understanding of choices in these contexts. In particular, the chapter argues that only certain patterns of shuffling are irrational, and the irrationality of these patterns can be given a more direct and satisfying explanation without appeal to intention-persistence requirements.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, tourism has declined precipitously as a result of lockdown procedures that have prohibited the majority of international travel and ultimately increased people's online activity at home. Virtual reality (VR) is an example of an online activity that simulates and infiltrates the real world through games and interactive media. This chapter aims to determine whether using newer generation wearable devices to create virtual reality experiences via immersive graphic design has an effect on people's intentions to visit virtual destinations and tourist attractions in lieu of physical travel. The chapter also determines the effect of perceived visual appeal (PVA) and emotional involvement (EI) on behavioural intentions toward visiting a cultural heritage site in a virtual destination. Using the Saudi Arabian holy pilgrimage of Hajj as a case study, the chapter hypothesises that delivering the PVA of the virtual experience via virtual reality via immersive graphic design will result in a significant increase in intentions to visit a virtual destination.

Streszczenie:
This chapter discusses and proposes an integrated model of actual online shopping use behaviour, with a moderating role of personal traits (openness to experience and agreeableness). Building on the TAM model, the proposed framework harnesses its factors from supported theories, namely social cognitive theory, source credibility theory, risk theory, and OCEAN model. A literature review approach is employed in which the author uses previous relevant studies to establish the relationship among the variables. Apart from direct relationships, the chapter conceptualises mediating role of Intention on the relationship between a set of predictors (internet self-efficacy, perceived channel credibility, financial and security risk) and actual online shopping usage behaviour. At the same time, the chapter explores the moderating role of openness to experience and agreeableness on the relationship between the TAM's belief constructs and intention. Finally, the chapter concludes with highlights on the framework's contributions, limitations, and plan for future empirical investigation.

In spatial, social and cultural pluralism, the questions of human intentionality and socio-spatial emergence remain central to social theory (Portugali 2000, p.142). The correlation between individual preferences, values and intentions, and actual behaviour and actions, is subject to Portugali’s theory of self-organisation (2000). Compared to Gidden’s structuralism, which focuses on society and groups, the point of departure for Portugali (2000) are individuals and their personal choices. The key feature in how complex systems `self-organise', is that they `interpret', the information that com
