The new species is similar to Cinnamomum brenesii (Standl.) Newmania bambusifolia Škorničk., Vuong & Bao (Zingiberaceae:Zingiberoideae), a new ginger species discovered in Hon Ba Nature Reserve, Khanh Hoa Province in southern Vietnam is described and illustrated here with notes on distribution,ecology, phenology, preliminary IUCN assessment, and etymology.
