The article describes results of laser treatment applied in seven patients (eleven eyes) due to capsulorhexis margin shrinkage and the subsequent wrinkling of the anterior capsule in eyes with pseudophakia. Almost total loss of the anterior capsulorhexis aperture caused a significant decrease in visual acuity, to the level of counting fingers right in front of the eyes in three patients (four eyes). The laser cut of the anterior capsulorhexis margin using the Nd-Yag laser led to an immediate increase in the capsulorhexis size in each case. Visual acuity improved in the eyes with an extreme dec

Purpose: to determine the optimal size of anterior femtosecond capsulorhexis for stable capsular bag fixation in case of lens subluxation using iridocapsular retractors during cataract phacoemulsification with IOL implantation. Material and methods. 86 patients (86 eyes) with lens subluxation of I and II degrees according to Pashtaev's classification were examined. All patients were divided into three groups. Group I consisted of 28 eyes, group II – 36 eyes, group III – 22 eyes. In group I femtosecond capsulorhexis with a diameter of 5.5 mm was performed, in group II – with a diameter of 5.0 m

Purpose: To compare the safety and consistency of manual capsulorhexis and precision pulse capsulotomy performed using pulsed energy during bilateral cataract surgery and to explore the differences in clinical outcomes. Methods: A total of 101 patients with bilateral cataracts were selected. Precision pulse capsulotomy was performed on one eye and manual continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis on the other. The independent-samples t-test was used to compare the duration of continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis, incisional size and roundness, complications such as radial tears, the cumulative dissip

Methods: This prospective non-randomized interventional study involved 115 silicone-filled eyes of 115 previously vitrectomized patients. All patients underwent combined phacoemulsification or underwent irrigation/aspiration and silicone oil removal, followed by foldable intraocular lens implantation combined with primary posterior trans-scleral capsulorhexis. Purpose. To study the state of interface “intraocular lens (IOL) — posterior capsule (PC)” depending on diameter of capsulorhexis in phacoemulsification of senile cataract.Patients and methods. 227 patients (227 eyes) were examined after phacoemulsification of senile cataract at LenSx femtosecond laser (Alcon, USA). The study did not include patients with corneal opacities, signs of axial displacement of lens, with irido- and phacodonesis, glaucoma, axial length less than 22 mm and more than 26 mm. IntroductionIn the era of functional intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, it is crucial to investigate the influence of different capsulorhexis sizes (including the diameter of the capsulorhexis, area of the anterior capsule opening, anterior capsule coverage, centration and circularity of the capsulorhexis) on the postoperative outcomes (eg, visual acuity, capsule shrinkage, IOL stability and intraocular pressure) in patients undergoing cataract surgery. This is particularly important in patients with high myopia or diabetes mellitus. The proposed protocol aims to enhance the transparency of
