Structural equation modeling was used to test a theoretical model of the etiology of the deviant sexual aggression by adolescents. The subjects were 117 juvenile male sexual offenders who had been referred from either criminal justice or social service agencies to a clinic that treated offenders. This research analysed Australian filicide cases over a 16 year period. The results show that prior instances of child abuse could be considered a risk factor, particularly in cases where the perpetrator has a history of physical abuse and neglect towards the victim. Other notable results include children under the age of 5 being at higher risk and mothers committing filicide at higher levels than other perpetrator types.
