The recovery of copper from copper smelter slag utilizing flotation has been studied. A copper smelter slag from the Wang Jiaqiao smelter in Yunnan Province of china, containing 2.76% Cu, 44.41% Fe, 2.34% Zn and 18.4g/t Ag and so on, has been used .The effective factors such as grinding fineness, pH, and the dosage and type of collector were examined. Under the flotation condition of grinding fineness (90%-74μm), rougher pH 6, XT-53(80 g/t), and 2# oil (30g/t) , copper grade of 23.55 %, recovery of 85.61% was obtained. Abstract Biofouling and corrosion of stainless steel of the AISI 430, 304 L and 316 T types and 70/30 copper-nickel alloy were studied after several weeks of exposure to natural seawater. Microfouling taxonomic structure and dominant species were assessed by exposing glass panels in the same sampling areas used for metal samples. The corrosion behavior of the different metals tested was studied in the laboratory by using potentiodynamic polarization methods and open circuit potential vs. time measurements. Microfouling and corrosion attack observation was made by scanning electron microscopy.

After being oxidized to the ferric (Fe(III)) state, this solution can be utilized to passivate the steel surfaces and to remove copper deposits. Missouri S and T investigated alternative new methods to the existing practice of measuring the structure-to-electrolyte potential to assess the level of cathodic protection (CP) of a buried pipeline. The measurement of a negative 850 mV DC pipeline to soil potential relative to a copper/copper sulfate reference electrode has been used for decades as a threshold value for sufficient CP to reduce external corrosion to an acceptable rate ( less than 0.001� per year). However, there is a need for an alternative method that more accurately depicts the corrosion rates of buried pipeline.
