Angiosarcoma is an uncommon malignant tumor that primarily affects older people and affects vascular endothelial cells. This tumor is quite deceptive and could be mistaken for a benign lesion based on its presentation and progression. We describe the case of a 50-year-old male who had post-traumatic left occipital edema that appeared benign on radiography and clinical examination. The index of suspicion increased due to the sudden increase in size. The excised specimen’s histomorphology revealed a cellular tumor that was mitotically active with large areas of necrosis. Abstract Context.—Selected cutaneous neoplasms share features with benign counterparts or have subtle morphologic features that could be overlooked by the pathologist. Objective.—To present clues to the diagnosis of potentially deceptive malignancies, including desmoplastic malignant melanoma, nevoid malignant melanoma, subcutaneous lymphoma, metastatic breast carcinoma, and epithelioid sarcoma. Data Sources.—Published literature and personal experience. Conclusions.—Knowledge of commonly misdiagnosed cutaneous neoplasms will help the general surgical pathologist avoid these potential pitfalls

Deceptive cancers mimic benign breast tumors and are primarily represented by the group of round-shaped cancers with well-circumscribed contours. These account for about 10 to 20% of breast cancers. They most often correspond to grade III invasive carcinomas without specific features, particularly triple-negative cancers. Other etiologies of round-shaped carcinomas correspond to specific histological types including colloid (or mucinous) carcinoma, and medullary carcinoma (especially frequent in patients mutated for BRCA1). It is crucial to recognize their presentation in conventional imaging,

Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks generate deceptive, high-volume traffic that bypasses conventional detection mechanisms. When interception fails, effectively allocating mixed benign and malicious traffic under resource constraints becomes a critical challenge. To address this, we propose SchedOpt Engine (SOE), a scheduling framework formulated as a discrete multi-objective optimization problem. The goal is to optimize four conflicting objectives: a benign traffic acceptance rate (BTAR), malicious traffic interception rate (MTIR), server load balancing, and malicious traffic isolat

It is characterised by the replacement of endometrial tissue with sheets of foamy histiocytes, giant cells, lymphocytes and plasma cells; calcification and necrosis. It involves chronic inflammation and may be associated with endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial carcinoma and atrophy, causing cervical stenosis and recurrent pyometra, especially in postmenopausal women. AbstractAnorectal melanomas are rare and have a far worse prognosis as compared to cutaneous melanomas. They can be highly deceptive with their presentation like bleeding and mass descending per rectum, that can often mimick some benign lesions such as hemorrhoids, polyps and also ano-rectal carcinomas unless a histological diagnosis of melanoma is made. Here, we present a case of anorectal melanoma in a 75-year old male who presented with bleeding per rectum for 2 months, following which an abdomino-perineal resection was performed based on a preliminary diagnosis o

Anatomic distortion and displacement of hilar structures due to liver lobe atrophy and hypertrophy occasionally complicates the surgical approach for biliary stricture repair. Benign biliary stricture following hepatic resection deserves special consideration in this regard because the inevitable hypertrophy of the residual liver causes marked rotation and displacement of the hepatic hilum that if not anticipated may render exposure for repair difficult and dangerous. Three patients with biliary stricture after hepatectomy illustrate the influence of hepatic regeneration on attempts at subsequ

Stretch marks (SM) feature visible linear scars developing on the body in the areas of excessive stretching of the skin. This is a benign skin condition, but because of their aesthetic implications, they can cause distress among their sufferers. SM show high prevalence, probably more than 50 % among pregnant women, and 50 to 90 % in the general population. SM affect more likely certain ethnic groups, especially dark-skinned patients. During pregnancy, risk factors include family history, but also important weight gain whilst more generally elevated body mass index also constitutes a risk facto
