Critical thinking is crucial for future science teachers to succeed in their roles. Not only does it prepare them for future challenges, but it also helps them guide students in developing these essential skills. It is crucial to develop learning materials integrated critical thinking skills aspects for pre-service science teachers (PSSTs). This research seeks to design and assess web-based digital handouts intended to enhance critical thinking skills. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods as research methodology to evaluate the validity of the handouts and explore PSSTs’ perceptions of the digital handouts. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was used to analyze PSSTs' perceptions regarding the acceptance and use of digital handouts. The digital handouts were validated by two experts and tested by fifty two PSSTs at a university in Riau, Indonesia. The results showed an average rating of 89.1% in the 'very good' category, indicating that the digital handouts were perceived as useful, easy to use, and highly adoptable in learning activities. Furthermore, the findings align with previous studies that highlight the positive PSSTs’ perceptions regarding the implementation of digital handout in learning.

Digital handouts help enrich material, increase reading interest, and support learning outcomes according to the characteristics of the learning environment. The aim of this research is to produce and develop a suitable and effective digital handout for Pancasila Education Phase B using the RICOSRE learning model in elementary schools. The study also aims to determine the practical impact of developing digital handouts on student learning outcomes for this subject. The research method employs the 4D development model, consisting of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This method and model were chosen to produce a digital handbook media. Data sources include 22 fourth-grade students and their teacher from SD Negeri Dateng. Data collection instruments include observation sheets, interview sheets, expert validation forms, written tests, and questionnaires. Data validity was processed using Aiken’s V. The data analysis technique employed is quantitative analysis. Results show that the RICOSRE-based handout is designed to meet student needs, presented online with a flipbook, and relevant to students' environment. Its validity is high according to language, media, and content experts, with percentages of 0.83%, 0.92%, and 0.94%, respectively. Vertebrate Animals sub-concept learning involves the characteristics of vertebrates in each class and requires learning materials to overcome students' difficulties. Digital handouts are one of the teaching materials made to facilitate the delivery of material during the learning process, which includes teaching materials, questions, and independent practical instructions that can be used for online and offline learning. This research method uses a quasi-experimental or quasi-experiment to test the effect of using digital handouts on learning outcomes and student responses to the Vertebrate Animal sub-concept. The sampling of this research was carried out by random sampling technique in class X SMAN 4 Banjarmasin, which later became the research sample of 48 students in the experimental class (X MIPA 1) and the control class (X MIPA 2). The learning outcomes data were tested with the SPSS 21 program using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, while the student responses were analyzed descriptively. The research results, namely, student learning outcomes, indicate that the use of digital handouts affects learning outcomes with the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000<0.05. In addition, students' responses to the use of digital handouts received a positive response in classroom learning with an average of 80.57%, which included the category of strongly agree.Pembelajaran sub konsep Hewan Vertebrata melibatkan ciri karakteristik vertebrata pada setiap kelasnya dan memerlukan bahan pembelajaran untuk mengatasi kesulitan peserta didik. Handout digital merupakan salah satu bahan ajar yang dibuat untuk dapat mempermudah penyampaian materi pada saat proses pembelajaran yang memuat materi bahan ajar, soal-soal, dan petunjuk praktikum mandiri yang dapat digunakan untuk pembelajaran secara daring maupun luring. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu atau Quasi Experimen dengan tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan handout digital terhadap hasil belajar dan respon peserta didik pada sub konsep Hewan Vertebrata. Pengambilan sampel penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling di kelas X SMAN 4 Banjarmasin yang kemudian menjadi sampel penelitian sebesar 48 peserta didik kelas eksperimen (X MIPA 1) dan kelas kontrol (X MIPA 2). Data hasil belajar diuji dengan program SPSS 21 menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, sedangkan respon peserta didik dianalisis secara deskriptif. Dari hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu hasil belajar peserta didik menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan handout digital berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.000<0,05. Selain itu, respon peserta didik terhadap penggunaan handout digital mendapatkan respon yang positif dalam pembelajaran di kelas dengan rata-rata 80,57% yang termasuk kategori sangat setuju.

Digital handouts, or e-handouts, are learning tools students can use to learn more efficiently and flexibly. This study aimed to assess the validity of e-handouts on bacterial diversity in the rhizosphere of Citrus nobilis as Microbiology enrichment material. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which is limited to the development stage. The subjects in the study consisted of validation tests by three validators, namely material experts. As many as two people are lecturers in the Microbiology and Plant Physiology Course of Biology Education FKIP ULM Banjarmasin and one media expert from a lecturer in Educational Technology FKIP ULM Banjarmasin. In the e-handout validation test, the material validator was rated as very valid with a percentage of 86.15%, and the developed media validator showed the e-handout was very valid with a percentage of 100%. It can be concluded that the e-handout of bacterial colony diversity in the rhizosphere of Citrus nobilis meets the category of very valid, and suggestions for further research can be carried out until the product implementation stage. Abstrak. Handout digital, juga dikenal sebagai e-handout, adalah alat pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan siswa untuk belajar agar lebih efisien dan fleksibel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menilai kevalidan e-handout tentang keragaman bakteri yang ada di rizosfer Citrus nobilis sebagai bahan pengayaan Mikrobiologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang dibatasi sampai tahap pengembangan (development). Subjek pada penelitian terdiri dari uji validasi oleh 3 orang validator, yakni ahli materi sebanyak 2 orang yang merupakan dosen Pengampu Mata Kuliah Mikrobiologi dan Fisiologi Tumbuhan Pendidikan Biologi FKIP ULM Banjarmasin dan 1 ahli media dari dosen Teknologi Pendidikan FKIP ULM Banjarmasin. Pada uji validasi e-handout oleh validator materi dinilai sangat valid dengan persentase sebesar 86,15%, dan validator media yang dikembangkan menunjukkan e-handout sangat valid dengan persentase 100%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-handout keragaman koloni bakteri pada rizosfer Citrus nobilis memenuhi kategori sangat valid dan saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya bisa dilakukan sampai tahap implementasi produk.

The aim of this article is to examine the effects of influences during a pandemic period to improve learning outcomes in chemical materials. The method used is meta-analysis by summarizing, analyzing, and analyzing data from the literature and processed statistically. During the pandemic, teachers must be creative in learning because the learning process is carried out in a bold manner. As facilitators, teachers can facilitate students by providing digital handouts that can be accessed more easily without the internet. In addition, the use of handouts has a strong influence on improving student learning outcomes. The increase in student learning outcomes can be observed through paired sample statistical tests and the effect size of learning outcomes between before use and use of handouts. The use of handouts as an alternative to teaching materials can improve learning outcomes by 38.6%. This shows that digital material can be used as an alternative to chemical teaching materials during the pandemic.

One of the benefits of technology in education is to facilitate student and teacher access to various learning resources. In this digital age, the use of traditional learning media has become less effective. This research aims to create digital handouts in Flipbook form for Business Economics and General Administration material, as well as assessing how feasible these digital handouts are. This research is recommended as research using the development (R&D) method using the ADDIE research design. The feasibility evaluation carried out by two media validators resulted in an average score of 83.44% with the criteria "very feasible". On the other hand, the feasibility evaluation stage carried out by two material experts received an overall calculated score of 89.11% with very feasible criteria. The research results show that the digital handouts created are very suitable for implementation in teaching Business Economics and General Administration

This study aims to analyze the need for digital handouts for teaching elementary school based on Tri N to provide teaching skills for prospective teacher students. This type of research is qualitative research. This study intends to reveal a needs analysis for digital handouts for elementary learning based on Tri N to equip teaching skills for prospective teacher students. The research subjects were undergraduate students of PGSD FKIP UST in semester 4 of the 2020/2021 academic year. The data collection technique in this research used participant observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used interactive model data analysis. The analysis consists of three flows of activities, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and concluding/verification. The results of this study, begin with a needs analysis by identifying the material from the RPS for the Lesson Planning course. In the RPS, materials were found in the form of curriculum analysis, program Prosem, RPP, and attachments (teaching materials, LKPD, learning media, and learning evaluation). In the RPS, the concept of the Tri N teaching has been found, but the teaching materials used are still using printed handouts and PPT. From the analysis of the material, researchers can develop innovative teaching materials, namely digital handouts, so that the material presented can be easily understood and interactive for students.

One of the roles of technology in learning activities is to make it easier for teachers and students to access various educational resources. Technology integration in learning activities is a planned activity of using or combining technology in classroom learning activities to improve the quality of the learning process.In the era of digital transformation, conventional learning media became less practical to use. For instance, when learning how to make fashion designs, there were not many digital handouts available to study the use of drawing applications for learning activities to create fashion designs. To address this gap, this research aims to develop digital handouts based on Ibis Paint X. The research follows the ADDIE research design as part of its research and development (R&D) process. The results of the feasibility test by two media validators obtains an average score of 86.25% with very feasible criteria. The results of the feasibility test by two material validators obtains an average score of 95% with very feasible criteria. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the digital handouts developed are very suitable for use in learning to make fashion designs.

In line with technological advances, education, which is the main foundation in improving the quality of human resources, should also be able to adapt to technology. One of them is compiling digital-based teaching materials. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of interactive e-handouts based on the anyflip application on basic accounting material for class X phase E with elements of business processes in the field of accounting and institutional finance. This development research applies the 4-D research model such as the theory of Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel which includes: the definition stage (define), the design stage (design) the media development stage (develop), and the dissemination stage (dissaminate). The e-handout teaching materials are arranged in an interesting way and highlight important points to make it easier for students to understand the material. Teachers must also continue to innovate in compiling teaching materials to meet the different needs of students. The output of this study is an e-handout that can be accessed online anytime and anywhere so that it can help students to learn independently.

In the open-shared teaching and learning space, the complexity of the shared learning contents vary. These range from stand-alone items and digital learning objects to full learning sequences and sets of resources. One humble object is the animated GIF, lightweight motion images used in graphical user interfaces (GUIs), expressive memes and commentary, emoticons, and other applications. Animated GIFs are fairly easy to create; they may be integrated into learning documents (handouts, slideshows, articles) and other objects, and it plays offline (and without the need for any downloadable player). This work involves an analysis of some available animated GIFs for education in social imagery collections. Based on findings, this work explores the viability of animated GIFs for various open-shared learning applications globally and some potential strategies and tactics, given real-world limits.

Children from excluded rural communities in Slovakia are at permanent risk of low school achievement, which is often related to social, language and digital exclusion. A closed circle of social exclusion and childhood poverty usually leads to school attrition, adult exclusion, and unemployment. One way how to break this circle is helping these children to succeed at school from pre-primary and primary education. As far as the language of instruction (Slovak language) is often not their first language, these children fail to fulfill school requirements very early. To develop their narrative competence in the Slovak language we adopted a set of materials for the teaching of Slovak as a second language (Hocus & Lotus narrative format programme, Taeschner, 2005). We prepared for teachers and children printed books and handouts as well as digital materials like audiobooks, videos, web-based colour books and handouts usable with an interactive board. These materials were available via the project website and can help children to develop both language and digital competences which may bridge the school achievement gap in later education. An experimental project was designed to verify the programme in 10 classes of children from 6 to 10 years of age (N = 104). The teachers were asked to evaluate the outcomes of using the digital materials in narrative format education and the further needs were analyzed. Based on these results further recommendations for socially disadvantaged children are discussed. This study is a part of the project KEGA 060UK-4/2017 Supporting narrative competence in the Slovak language for children from marginalized language environment - a set of teaching materials and of the project VEGA 1/0409/17 Teachers' personality and professional vision related to the dealing with challenging situations in the classroom during the transition into service.

The issues of collective, cultural or, in some cases, religious identity have become an important factor for both confessional and societal security since the end of the last century. Such studies focus on specific societal communities or specific social spaces. The present article studies the student youth of the Russian part of the Caspian Sea region and focuses on the influence of the level of religious identity on the confessional security of student youth in the Russian part of the Caspian Sea region. The starting point was regional studies of the past 10 years carried out by experts from the Republic of Kalmykia, Republic of Dagestan and Astrakhan Region. The purpose of this article is to identify the level of confessional security of the Russian student youth in the Caspian Sea region. For this purpose, sociological research was carried out in November and December 2020 among students of higher educational institutions in the Russian part of the Caspian Sea region (N – 732). Primary sociological information was obtained through a handout electronic questionnaire using the Survey Studio service. The sampling error was up to 3%. The research tools and matrix were developed by the authors. A fairly high level of students’ religiosity was revealed in the course of the study, mainly due to Dagestan and Kalmykia. The main factor in the formation of religious identity was the human and institutional factor, manifesting itself most clearly in Kalmykia, and the virtual one – in Dagestan. The study results showed that the youth of the Caspian Sea region is in tune for tolerance but does not feel sufficient reciprocal tolerance at both the national and regional levels. They consider their own educational institutions having the highest level of tolerance. Though they do not recognize the societal future of religion as a systemic regulator, the vast majority of students, both believers and non-believers, recognize it as a kind of guarantor of security.

Abstract The US Air Force has added the ‘e’ designation to denote an aircraft or satellite having been designed using computer modeling and simulation, as well as interface technologies like virtual and augmented reality. This new digital aerospace engineering process, i.e. using computers to design, model, and test aircraft before an actual prototype is built, is so important that it drives the need for a different approach to the engineering curriculum. In response, our students are provided an opportunity to create and analyze throughout a lecture-based course. The availability of sophisticated software and its use outside of the classroom without prior training facilitates nonlinear learning, promotes exploration of alternative resources, from written material to the human network, and ultimately brings it all back to the theoretical underpinnings. The Compressible Aerodynamics course in its first iteration featured the following simulation projects: (1) Incompressible flow through the converging nozzle, (2) Flying on earth, (3) Pitot tube, (4) Compressible flow over an airfoil, (5) Airfoil in different flow regimes, and (6) Rayleigh flows. They were chosen from six ANSYS Fluids Engineering Innovation Courses that are available free online. Each project originally included a video, handout, and pre-generated mesh, and was further customized with specifically focused grading criteria. This study built on the authors’ previous work on the use of simulations in the individual courses and course sequences in the mechanical engineering program. The goals were to bring the elements of the new digital aerospace engineering process to standard lecture-based courses, ensure students’ engagement from the beginning, and increase the time students invest in studying. The anticipated challenges (from the perspective of Bloom’s Taxonomy) were (1) non-hierarchal structure of learning where students create and analyze while mastering the use of the tool, (2) integrated and balanced process of learning where every element of the framework is equally important, and (3) the differences that each learner brings, from motivation to the cognitive processing. The significance of our approach and its success are illustrated with qualitative and quantitative evidence. Qualitative data provide examples of student work, while quantitative assessment of students’ understanding and confidence in comprehension of select concepts includes grades, student surveys, and course evaluations.

This module, aimed at helping both English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers and their students, is the result of a qualitative, applied, transversal and constructivist research conducted with Open Lingua teachers. One of the objectives of said research was to establish the factors that favored and hindered the curriculum integration of open access bilingual dictionaries in that specific EFL context in order to design and implement some pedagogical and didactic initiatives that would foster the effective use of those lexical tools. The present module was a fundamental element within the series of proposals that arose along the research. Its main objective was to provide the teachers with the necessary conceptual knowledge and didactic strategies and resources to teach their students how to use that kind of online dictionary with higher degrees of ease, enjoyment, and efficiency, and, thus, to reduce the frequency of look up errors. This module offers a variety of digital resources, handouts, and hands-on and assessment activities that can greatly facilitate their job when teaching dictionary skills to their students.
