A non-linear mathematical model was used to study the dynamics of drinking epidemic. We discussed the existence and stability of the drinking-free and endemic equilibria. The drinking-free equilibrium was locally asymptotically stable if and unstable if . Global stability of drinking-free and endemic equilibria were also considered in the model, using Lassalle’s invariance principle of Lyapunov functions. Numerical simulations were conducted to confirm our analytic results. Our findings was that, reducing the contact rate between the non-drinkers and heavy drinkers, increasing the number of dr

In this paper, we present a continuous mathematical model PMHTrTpQ of alcohol drinking with the influence of private and public addiction treatment centers. We study the dynamical behavior of this model and we discuss the basic properties of the system and determine its basic reproduction number R0. We also study the sensitivity analysis of model parameters to know the parameters that have a high impact on the reproduction number R0. The stability analysis of the model shows that the system is locally as well as globally asymptotically stable at drinking-free equilibrium E0 when R0≤1. When R0&

For a multigroup cholera model with indirect transmission, the infection for a susceptible person is almost invariably transmitted by drinking contaminated water in which pathogens,V. cholerae, are present. The basic reproduction numberℛ0is identified and global dynamics are completely determined byℛ0. It shows thatℛ0is a globally threshold parameter in the sense that if it is less than one, the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable; whereas if it is larger than one, there is a unique endemic equilibrium which is global asymptotically stable. A more realistic two-stage model for binge drinking problem is introduced, where the youths with alcohol problems are divided into those who admit the problem and those who do not admit it. We also consider the direct transfer from the class of susceptible individuals towards the class of admitting drinkers. Mathematical analyses establish that the global dynamics of the model are determined by the basic reproduction number,R0. The alcohol-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable, and the alcohol problems are eliminated from the population ifR0<1. A unique alcohol-present equilibr

Abstract The increase of CO2 in the atmosphere may produce some effects on drinking water because water tends to naturally capture CO2 species. The main purpose was the study of the impact of capture of free CO2 and its transformation to carbonic acid (H2CO3) and bicarbonate ions (HCO−3). The study used a Tillmans equilibrium diagram obtained from the modified Mojmir Mach model as a function of water temperature and considered the effects on anion and cation composition. Three wells located in different zones were selected, with similar characteristics (capture of CO2). Samples were taken in d

Streszczenie:
In this paper, we propose a new fractional-order model of alcohol drinking involving the Caputo derivative and six groups of individuals. We introduce road accidents and violence related to alcohol consumption as separate classes to highlight the role of alcoholism in the aggressive and risky behaviour of heavy drinkers. We show the existence and uniqueness of the non-negative solutions, and we determine the basic reproduction number R0. The sensitivity analysis of the model parameters is performed to characterize the important parameters that have the most effects on the reproduction number.

In this paper, we present a nonlinear mathematical model, describing the spread of high-risk alcohol consumption behavior among college students in Colombia. We proved the existence and stability of the alcohol-free and drinking state equilibrium by means of Lyapunov function and LaSalle’s invariance principle. Also, we apply optimal control to study the impact of a preventive measure on the spread of drinking behavior among college students. The environmental effect of industrial effluents, including chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), copper (Cu), and nickel (Ni) can have harmful impacts, which includes soil, water, and air pollution, bioaccumulation in food chains, degradation of ecosystems, loss of biodiversity, and contaminated drinking water. Biopolymers such as chitosan have been widely used in wastewater treatment. The ability of thiocarbamoyl chitosan to remove lead ions was assessed by combining thio urea and glutaraldehyde (GLA). Moreover, the results obtained from applying the new fractional derivative method show that, as the order of the fractional derivative increases, cholera-preventing behaviors also increase. Also, the finding of our study shows that the dynamics of Vibrio cholerae can be controlled if continuous treatment is applied in reserved freshwater used for drinking purposes so that the intrinsic growth rate of Vibrio cholerae in water is less than the nat

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a chronic condition where blood pressure in the arteries remains elevated, leading to severe complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. Managing hypertension is particularly challenging when comorbid conditions like type 2 diabetes are present.
