Se estudian bioquímica y serológicamente 31 ce`pas de E. coli, aisladas a partir de cadáveres de gallinas. Sorbita, rafinosa y sacarosa las fermentaron el 83, 74 y 67% de las cepas. Se determinaron veinte serotipos 0, siendo las más frecuentes los 0190, 02 y 0111. De los antígenos flagelares, los hallados fueron diez, con la máxima frecuencia para los H10 y H4. En cuanto a la correspondencia entre antígenos somáticos y flagelares, la más frecuente fue la fórmula 0109:H10 (cinco cepas).
